What a great teacher & person. Always willing to help & u learn so much!
Best professor I've ever had. Show up and be prepared to take notes!
Not a bad class for being gen ed. Tests are harder then expected
Shes the best!Every teacher could take a lesson from her. She's great!
There's a reason why everyone loves her--she's awesome!
She's A Lot of FUN!!!
Note taking is easy as she writes along with you on the board.
Best teacher I've ever had. Her class is actually worth getting up for. She's VERY entertaining and makes Psyc fun and interesting. Very interactive and funny! TAKE THIS CLASS!
she is very fun and can get you to want to come to class. she has random extra credit things almost everyday so show up! she is very animated and talks on your level. she knows her stuff. one of my best classes!
No joke... look no further than this teacher. She is by far my very favorite professor...i look forward to her class every MWF, she's full of life, makes learning SO fun, and will make you love Psych too.
Very nice!
This is a cool class to take. She doesn't take attendance, which is always a plus. Also, she makesd it pretty interesting.
Hard hard hard tests...if you study you will do fine. She makes study guides anyway. She is a good teacher, and makes things exciting because she is upbeat
Incredibly helpful and energetic
My FAVORITE Professor by FAR! I skipped her class one day and actually felt bad about it! She makes psych so much fun and entertaining. She has lots of cool examples to help you better understand concepts. I wish she taught more classes!
She's such a great teacher! A lot of fun, makes you want to go to class. She has a great personality and is really funny. I think I like psychology a lot more cause of her. TAKE HER CLASS!
She's the very best! Very clear and also very fair. You get the grade you earn in her class. Do the work and you will do well in her classes:)I wish that everyone could experience one of her classes!
Dr. Carwright is an excellent example of what a professor ought to be... receptive, diligent, hardworking, understanding, and most of all always helpful to lend advice (as well as constructive criticism). Way to go Dr. C!!
What everyone else said: makes learning fun.
Awesome prof - very helpful, very enthusiastic and makes class fun! I learn so much in this class! Awesome Awesome Awesome!
THE BEST PROFESSOR AT CNU!!! Study for the tests and is a fair bit of work...but she'll make you enjoy it.
I loved her! She makes the class entertaining because she's so hyperactive all the time. I definitely learned alot in her class because she applies everything to real life. Plus, even if you mess up a test or something, she gives tons of extra credit so it is not hard to pull your grade back up.
Fun class...she keeps you awake, that's for sure. You don't need caffeine before this class. She has enough energy for 75 people!
Not helpful
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! TAKE HER CLASS BECAUSE YOU WILL LOVE IT

The best professor i have had at this university. very knowledgeable and friendly. i will miss her when i graduate.
Possibly one of the BEST classes I've ever taken!
She is an amazing professor! I am in her freshman seminar course, Child Psych and am completely hooked! She always has her coffee and is super energetic. Very helpful with freshman advising too. No tests or quizzes, only SOCS (short papers over the chapters. You can tell she truly loves her job.
This class was very interesting and I learnd so much. Only thing, her four tests were ridiciously hard. I studied for hours and got 70s. Her extra credit is ridicoulous becauase it counts for not even a percentage of your final grade. Nice lady, learn alot, but dont take it for a good, easy A. Prepare to work your tail off.
This was an enjoyable class - She made the material easy to understand, and we watched a lot of videos. If you read the book and go to class, it's an easy A.
Incredible woman. So intelligent and driven and focused. Yet so nice! recognizes intelligence and drive when she sees it. Should have been made dept head.
You can tell she really cares about the students. She is a really good lecturer
She lectures every class, but is very interesting and gives good examples. She is approachable and helpful if you talk to her after class. However, her tests are very hard and application based.
Dr. Cartwright was a wonderful professor to have for my first level psychology class in college. Her lectures are interesting and often involve videos and examples from funny TV shows. She is very kind and interested in her students. Even in the morning she is excited to be lecturing.
She is a very friendly and helpful professor and makes her class easy to pay attention to. She is always making jokes and has a lot of extra credit. You just need to be in class to get credit. Also the way to get an A is to just read your book for each chapter.
Dr. Cartwright is AMAZING! Her energy is so great (especially in the morning!) and she gives A LOT of extra credit! To do well you have to stay on top of things though and study fairly hard for the tests. Also, her quizzes are all open book/note which is great!
Great teacher, very understanding and willing to help at anytime.Open book and notes for quizzes. The tests are difficult so read the assigned reading from the text book. But she gives more than 10 points extra credit and you have to go to class to earn that.
i LOVE dr. cartwright. i wish i had the opportunity to take more of her classes. she genuinely loves to teach. it's hard not to pay attention to her. especially when she gives examples about her daughter. she'll definitely make you work for an A, but it's not impossible.
Dr. Cartwright is so awesome. While her class is far from easy, she has such a passion for Psychology which makes me love it even more! TAKE HER!
Take Antaramian/Greenlee for intro Psyc courses. Cartwright's tests consist of topics never discussed in class. She gives an outline for the exams, but even if you study/read everything it's not enough. Don't let her fool you into thinking she gives "application" q's. They aren't. They're subjective questions with no logical explanation.
Dr. Cartwright is amazing! I highly recommend students to take her class. She flies through the powerpoints but she includes many examples in her lectures that make her students better understand concepts. I have been to her office hours multiple times and she is extremely helpful and cares about me as a student. She cared about me being successful
Cartwright is super enthusiastic about psych & really cares about her students. Her tests are hard but you learn her style quickly (test grade went from 60 to 90). She uses Socrative for attendance/quizzes/extra credit. She drops the 2 lowest quizzes & your worst test (even if it's the final). You don't need the textbook, but it helped me study
Dr. Cartwright is a very energetic professor and clearly loves psychology. Lots of notes, but she posts them online so you can go through them during lecture at your own pace. Tests were not too bad, but quite a few questions came directly from the textbook and related to topics we didn't discuss in class.
Dr. Cartwright is a tough professor. Does take attendance/extra credit/class participation through socrative, so show up to class. She is all over the place, and teaches pretty fast. Which makes it hard to listen and take notes in her class. She does drop the lowest test and the lowest 2 quizzes. The study guides/outlines do not help on her tests.
Shes a great professor but the tests are insanely hard. even if you study your butt off, you most likely will not even get a b+ . the tests do not even make sense in what is taught in class or what are in the notes. i will not take her again. its a 202 course and should not be that hard.
Cartwright is a very nice enthusiastic professor. The class was easy for me since I took AP psych in high school, but if this is your first psych class I would recommend doing all the reading because not everything on the tests are thoroughly explored in lecture. She's also very generous with extra credit and helpful during office hours!
I loved Dr. Cartwright. She was a phenomenal teacher and I always enjoyed listening to her lectures. If you study an average amount and attend the class, it really should not be difficult. Dr. Cartwright really cares about psychology and shows excitement when teaching, which makes it so much more fun to listen to.
I LOVED Dr. Cartwright! She is so spunky and is truly passionate about psych. She FLIES through the PowerPoints, but posts them all online so you can go at your own pace. She gives extra credit and drops your lowest 2 quiz grades and your lowest exam grade (I was happy with my final grade so I didn't have to take the final!). I also took AP in HS.
Dr. Cartwright is a very caring professor. The class is somewhat difficult, but it is not because of her. There is a lot of information, but she is extremely organized adn gives a good amount of extra credit. Class participation, attendance, and extra credit is all done through an app, but still need to be in class.
I love love love Dr. Cartwright. She is super easy to talk to and really wants all of her students to succeed. She is aware that a lot of material is covered in this class so she offers a ton of extra credit so take advantage!!! I really hope i get to take a class with her again in the future! 100% recommend
If you took AP Psychology in high school, this class should be a breeze. Dr. Cartwright wasnt as accessible in the classroom due to the size of the class (about 90 students); however, she was more than happy to meet and discuss things in her office, outside of class. Shes very energetic. Sometimes, she would go a bit too fast during lecture.
Amazing professor. Great energy, learning is enjoyable. Tests are somewhat difficult though.
I took this class my first semester of my freshmen year and I was so glad to be put in it. Kelly is such a good professor and I really did enjoy being in class. She's so energetic and cares so much about her students
One of my favorite lecturers. Keeps a class of 95 engaged, laughing, and attentive. Has a very great attitude and very organized. Class is very easy if you have any prior psych knowledge, and reading is not necessary if proper notes are taken during lecture. Very helpful and approachable, but will not hold your hand.
I took Dr. Cartwright Fall of 2020 online. She is an absolutely amazing professor and is extremely understanding. Extra credit is available and given during class, so attendance is necessary. Study guides are a little vague, PowerPoints are pretty detailed, and the reading isnt too bad of your interested in the subject. 10/10 would recommend!!!
I loved Dr. C's teaching style. She brought in lots of different content like interactive activities, videos, etc that kept my attention. She was a delight. She also lets you use your notes on the tests.
Cant recommend Dr. C enough. She tries her best to help you. Its not a hard course to pass, but write notes on all details she says in class that go along with her PP. Youll do fine. Couple of quizzes, 5 exams (including final) and she offers a lot of extra credit.
Amazing! Fun, understanding, helpful, and overall cares about her students. 10/10 recommend! She also drops lowest test scores. She does grade attendance and participation but its easy! Shes great.
I went into this class as a psych minor but switched to a psych major. I got Bs on the first exams, but I learned how to really read the questions carefully. This, in conjunction with reading the textbook, got me an A. Read the text prior to class and spend the time in class listening instead to taking notes if you want to understand the material.
VERY lecture heavy. reads directly from powerpoints entire class. voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard. talks to class like we are toddlers, narrates everything she does. drops the lowest quiz and test grade. tests are extremely hard, more on application then memorization. final is not cumulative so that was good. didn't really like HER :(
Dr. Cartwright is a really nice lady, but her class is full of lectures that will bore you and will most likely won't be on the test. Her quizzes/exams are the majority of your grade and are extremely difficult because its more about applying definitions instead of memorizing them. So, your gonna have to REALLY study in order to pass with a C/B.
Prof. Cartwright is such a sweet lady! She gives LOTS of extra credit opportunities and is always willing to work something out if you get a grade you're not happy with. This course is definitely content-heavy, but she does a good job of keeping lectures interesting. Love her!
She is super sweet, but lectures feel very long and boring. She tries her best to make sure you understand it with practice applications. She can be little much sometimes, but I don't mind it. The tests are very difficult, but the quizzes for the most part are open note.
I LOVE Dr. Cartwright! She is so bubbly, positive, and goes into detail about lecture topics. That being said, this class is extremely lecture heavy; make sure you figure out how you best learn in those types of classes, whether its taking onl or paper notes. Her quizzes & tests are extremely difficult bc its application based NOT memorization!
Dr. Cartwright is extremely nice and kind. She is flexible and gives a lot of opportunities for her students to succeed. Her positivity and passion for the subject makes the course a lot more engaging.
I stopped taking notes during lectures since she goes through slides fast. Slides are on Scholar so I reviewed those before quizzes & tests (questions are on application, not simply memorization). Lowest test grade is dropped and in class extra credit is offered (attend class). She answers questions and makes concepts easy to learn.
Favorite professor ever! So engaging and understanding, her lectures are interesting and she always makes sure everyone understands the information. She makes it really easy to do well, most of the assessments are open-note, and there are many chances to do well. She brings so much energy and opportunity to the class!
I'm currently in Dr. Cartwright's 202 Psych class and she is amazing. All of our quizzes and exams have been open notes except for one. She is very helpful during office hours and truly cares for her students.
All assessments open book, lots of extra credit. It's hard to fail her class, this bothered me as there was no incentive to try. She lectures well, but that's all you'll usually do in class with maybe a socrative activity. There was a textbook but I didn't read it and was fine. She's really kind and approachable, answers questions well.
Dr. Cartwright is super great. She made an online attendance option as well, which was super helpful. She's very lecture heavy, but she makes things really clear. All tests and exams were open note, open book which made the class super easy.
she's amazing if you have the opportunity take her classes>As a psych major I wish I could take all my classes with her!!!
Dr. Cartwright is one of the best professors you can have at CNU. She is willing to go above and beyond to help her students and is very caring. She is very positive and brings a lot of positive energy to the class and is very upbeat. Very good at replying to emails quickly. Only grades you will receive are quizzes, tests, EC, and CP.
I have taken Dr.Cartwright 2 semesters in a row. If you have the opportunity to take her class, you definitely should. She gives online options for class if you are sick, most tests/quizzes are open note. She explains things very well, uses great examples, very engaging class, and answers all questions.
I think PSYC202 w/Cartwright is very hard to fail considering that every assignment (including the final) is open note/book. It didn't take any effort outside of class for me personally to earn an A. She was a super sweet and caring professor, but I do wish I felt challenged a little bit more by the content that was taught.
She was so fun and engaging in my 95 person lecture and always had so much energy! She gave lots of extra credit just for participating and was always so understanding. Her tests are straightforward and not too difficult and her study guides are helpful if you look through them completely.
Dr. Cartwright was an amazing professor. She is one of the best professors you could have at CNU. Her class was very interesting and she cared about all of her students succeeding. Her lectures are organized and she provides excellent examples and explanations. Her tests are decent as long as you understand the topic well.
Dr. Cartwright is hands down the best professor I've had! Her passion for the subject makes every class engaging, and they break down complex concepts into something easy to grasp. She is super approachable, always available for help, and genuinely cares about student success. Dr. Cartwright makes classes fun. Highly recommend any class with her!
