Great teacher - gives good examples.

Awesome teacher and funny - I learn alot from her classes, study slides and read you'll do fine. She is so cool I which I had her for all of my classes.

She's an amazing teacher! You can really tell that she cares a lot about her students. She is concerned about explaining the material well and making sure that you enjoy what she is talking about. Very interesting and good class, she teaches off of powerpoint that you can get off of webct. She explains things well and makes the subjects interesting. If you want to try Psychology I say that you take her to see if you like it, she'll make it interesting.

She's awesome! She doesn't take attendence, but I went anyway because she always keeps it interesting. She's really funny, and her tests are incredibly easy as long as you read the power points.

Some people need to get thicker skins if a sign intended as a joke offends them. You've proven yourselves the kinds of people the sign was meant for. Dr. Cate is not for everyone, but by no means does that make her a bad teacher. She has a lot of enthusiasm for her classes and makes the material something you want to learn. Great professor!

She was a great teacher! She explained things in great detail and used good examples. She doesn't have an attendence policy, so you never have to show up if you don't want to. I did because her examples from her lectures are helpful on the tests. Tests are directly from the powerpoint. Simple...simple...simple. Easy A

Tests are a little hard because they're all example type questions, but for the most part, it's straight out of the book and out of the lectures.

Dr. Cate is awesome, there is no attendance policy and she is pretty hilarious. Her class is interesting and if you will listen to lecture and go over the powerpoints before a test you will be fine. Definitely take one of her classes if you get a chance!

i really enjoyed this class. i thought i wanted to minor in psych before this class, but i wasn't sure. after her class, i was positive i wanted to. she makes the material so interesting and extremely understandable. tests weren't bad.. just some application. She's a great teacher in the sense that she is always willing to stay after hours to help.

You get access to the Powerpoints that she uses in class, but I still recommend attending class. Lectures are very interesting. Online quizzes, several short writing assignments, and a project make up your grade in this class. Study well for the quizzes, and you will do well in this class.

I LOVE Dr. Cate. Before taking this class I heard that she is awesome but kind of hard, but Research Methods has been totally fine. Class is fun; it is a lot of discussion. Our tests have been online and she is SO helpful. She is a great teacher, she is very funny and REALLY tries hard to help everyone understand the material.

Kelly Cate is so awesome!!! she is hilarious, first off. and she really just gets it, that its about understanding concepts and not about memorizing stuff. She has a passion for psychology and is SOOOOO great, I highly recommend this teacher.

Best professor ever! She cares more about her students than any professor I've ever met. Her class is discussion based and we only had two quizzes. She had us write an autobiography and then met with us individually to talk about them. At the end, we wrote reflection papers about how we changed over the semester. Extremely fun class!

I have never found a professor who cares more about their students than Kelly Cate does. She is truly a friend, as well as a professor. She knows the information and finds ways to apply it to real life. Quizzes come from the powerpoint, but make sure you have the book too. Taking another class with her next semester.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Cate's class and learned a lot. She gives examples that stick in your head and is nothing short of hilarious! However, her class was harder than her rating. I studied really hard and I still could not make an A on any test. Be prepared to study a lot. Still, she's very approachable and also good-looking.

She is the best psych professor on this campus. She really knows her information and makes coming to class enjoyable! I really hate missing class because she is AWESOME! I recommend her for any class!

Kelly Cate is an awesome teacher. The class is very cut and dry. Four grades=four tests that are online and 50 questions. They are timed so manage that wisely. Service hours also required! Lectures are not too painful and she relates the concepts to stories to help with the understanding! Very helpful! Great class, take her if you get the chance.

She is an awesome teacher and the nicest by far! Her class was early so I didn't go as much as I shouldve which made my grade suffer but she is easy and works with you! I wish I would've had her later in the day because I loved her class! Class isn't mandatory to made decent grade but actually study and you'll do good!

Power points are great but have nothing to do with tests. Tests are timed and impossible to complete without the book. Gives writing assigments, make sure you write two pages worth and answer the specified questions and you'll be fine.

Dr. Cate is an amazing professor. She genuinely cares for her students. She gives lectures, but her lectures are very intriguing. We had 6 online quizzes which were the tests. We had a couple projects papers, but they are easy and interesting. I learned a lot from this class. I highly recommend taking it.

Dr. Cate is the best professor I've had in my whole college career. She is extremely smart and very good at teaching. She was there for me during some hard times during the semester, and is great at helping you whenever you need it. Her classes aren't hard, they're pretty easy, but you aren't just going to get an A by showing up. Would take again!

If you're bad at teaching yourself course material, do NOT take Cate. Her lectures are really good and really fun to listen to, but you won't be quizzed over what she says, so there's no point in showing up for class. Quizzes are online, 20 questions, she gives you 18 minutes to complete them; 4 writing assignments, one includes a group project.

This class was online, it was my first online class and she was so helpful and understanding when I needed help or extra time. I did one assignment and didn't add this one part and she let me know what I was missing and then gave me a chance to fix my assignment and resubmit it. She extended many quiz deadlines as well! Very understanding!!!

Professor Cate is very kind and generous. There were four projects that were easy 100s as long as you do them. Tests are online and not difficult. Attendance is not required. I am definitely taking her again.

This class wasn't hard, just 4 tests. She gives you all the Powerpoints so you don't have to go to class more than once a week. There was some weird stuff talked about in this class but she made it comfortable and interesting. You don't need the book at all. All the tests were online.

Dr. Cate is a great individual. She cares about her students and wants you to succeed. However, her powerpoint slides are extensive and tests (all online) can be difficult. You will have to write three short essays based on pre-selected movies (she is not a tough grader). Make sure you go up and talk with her after class period, she's hilarious

I love Professor Cate!! She truly cares about everyone and wants them to pass. Her papers and project are easy if you follow her directions. The tests are pretty difficult, so you need to listen to her lectures, read the powerpoints, your notes, and the textbook. She is a wonderful person and great professor though!

Her tests are difficult, so going to class (her stories help a lot with recall!), reading the textbook, & studying the power points are important. You have to put work into this class, but she makes it fun & is on your side when it comes to your grade!

Entertaining and funny while still getting all the information across. Gets lost in her stories and anecdotes that she runs out of time to cover all the topics in class. Final isn't cumulative, its just another test and they're all online. Lectures are still beneficial so definitely go bc some of her questions are specially from lecture

Dr. Cate has the most engaging lectures on campus. The attendance for her class isnt mandatory, but I never missed a class because her lectures were so interesting and a lot of fun. All of her tests were online which took a lot of test anxiety pressure off. Her final isnt cumulative and you can take it online from anywhere!

Classes are some of the most relevant lectures to my life. Wish I had this class 1st sem! Some people didn't like her use of examples but they were way better than just talking about definitions. Went out of her way to help us understand. People who didn't come often complained tests but they weren't hard and there was plenty of time if you studied

Professor Cate is amazing. You have 4 tests total, the 4th being the final and 5 community service/Research hours. She normally talks all class and goes over a powerpoint. The tests are normally 50 questions and based on the power points and textbook. She is very helpful! 100% recommend.

Let me tell you, if I had Kelly Cate my freshman year I would've majored in psych. I was not looking forward to taking the class, but it turned into "I can't wait to go to class." She is so lively and will brighten up anyones day. She loves her job and she's hilarious. She's so trendy, there wasn't a day her hair and makeup wasn't flawless.

Assignments and guidelines are clear so it's easy to see what she wants from you. Attendance isn't mandatory but her lectures are always fun so I never mind going.

I took her class my first semester of college, and I was so glad to have an instructor like Professor Cate. Her class was interesting and entertaining. She tends to ramble, but she makes sure everyone knows the material. She's super caring for all of her students. Answers emails quickly. Take her class if you can!

Dr. Cate is a great professor and I really enjoyed her class. Only downside was grading/feedback was disorganized/late. Learning material was interesting and enjoyable.

I would die for this woman. She is hands down the best professor ever. SO STINKING EASY but still gives great information in lecture. I loved professor Kate, even though her class was early. She made learning pysch really enjoyable. To be real, a lot of the time during lecture she would get carried away and talk about random things, but she is so energetic and has so much passion it never bothered me. She was always available outside of class, and genuinely cared about you.

Lectures were fun to attend although attendance not mandatory. Only midterm, final, few discussion posts, and unit quizzes. You have to read to do well on anything. She is always available when I needed her and she helped me understand difficult material. Very friendly and personable. Lectures based on a PPT but it wont help you on quizzes/test.

Social Psych was my favorite class this semester!! Even though I find the quizzes to be challenging, if you read the textbook and actively engage in the lecture you will be fine. She will make time to meet with you during office hours to look over the missed questions from the quizzes. If you truly give this class a chance, you will learn a lot :)

Even though her lectures didn't align with the quizzes they were still extremely easy and you have multiple attempts to get the grade you want on them. She's a very very easy grader and overall just a fun person to learn from. Attendance wasn't mandatory. I 100% suggest you take her.

Dr. Cate's class is very engaging. She does tend to go off in tangents, but she provides excellent examples of topics covered in class and you can see her passion for the subject when she teaches. The best advice I can give is to make sure that you're reading the assigned textbook and reviewing the slides - it helps immensely on the tests.

As I am currently taking this course, and nearing the end, I have loved the professor and the material. It is very easy as well. She uses actual real life examples that help you retain important information and relate to. If you actually pay attention to her lectures, you learn a lot of things. If any confusion occurs, she posts the powerpoints.

For an intro class, I thought she did a great job teaching the material but not making it too hard. The homework and assignments are very doable, and the midterm and final are both easy if you pay attention. Such a nice person and you can tell she genuinely cares about every student, and she's always very helpful and considerate.

I would definitely take professor Kate again, she was super understanding, did not give much work and makes her lectures engaging and relatable .

Dr. Cate is awesome! I took her over this summer for a short session & I loved her as a professor. The class did consist of VERY many discussions (like 31 i think), but all of them were opinions responses & very easy. Midterm & final are multiple choice but mostly typed responses (READ AND STUDY). Class is straight forward but don't procrastinate

she's very sweet but goes on lots of tangents and doesn't do an amazing job of actually teaching the material. she also cancelled class a lot due to her medical stuff but she was more than willing to give extra credit and help when needed
