We could talk about how Kelly doesn't have the most pleasant voice all day. However, i think she was one of the best professors I had all year. I struggled in Calculus in high school, but got an A easily in her class. The tests averages were all above 80 percent and the final was 89%. The quizzes were there to boost grades. TAKE KELLY! Ms. Chappell is extremely patient, personable and has a great sense of humor - a rarity in the math dept. She's dedicated to teaching and an obvious asset for CSU. I sat in on other 141 classes - and beleive me, Ms. Chappell will teach you far more than any grad student teacher. My advice, get to know her - you'll be glad you did.

This was my second time taking the course and my first professor was very good at explaining the concepts but not relating to the class; Kelly was just the opposite. She was very social and outgoing with the students, but sometimes not the best at explaining the concepts, or making mistakes that confused people. Overall a good and helpful teacher.

Kelly was a great professor, she taught the material very thoroughly. If you do not understand something in class she is very accessible for help through email, reviews, & office hours. I wouldn't say the course (Math 140) is easy, but she does allow graphing calculators on the tests. Overall, she was a great professor and I would recommend her.

Kelly is always working with you and is super sweet. She offers a lot of office hours and review sessions which help you tremendously. If you put the time and effort in out of class you are pretty much guaranteed and A. Also, I recommend forming a study group.

Dr. Chappell is an excellent math teacher! Last semester I did not pass this class as I missed a lot of school competing on team. She made sure I had enough time time complete everything I needed to and was very understanding and willing to help! I would highly recommend her!

I already took a calculus class, so this class was easy. Chappel's tests seem to be harder than the material she teaches, but as long as you take notes and understand the quizzes, you should do very well in her class. Comparatively, she's a very easy teacher. Plus, she's a very nice lady! :)

She also creates a study guide before each exam that contains book problems (and answers). She makes arithmetic mistakes frequently, which is her only shortcoming.

Perhaps one of the greatest math professors that I've ever had. The two main reasons why is because one, she actually cares about the grades of her students and it shows with her actually trying everything she can and two, she gives examples relevant to the work we do and also gives detailed steps. She makes a few mistakes yes but we are all human.

Good professor, very clear with directions and the material wasn't that difficult. The only thing some students might not like is her voice, sometimes it can get slightly irritating.

I had this class at 8am and about half of the class ever showed up. Because of this, Kelly gave extra credit to people who did show up and a lot of extra help. Students who went to class were more likely to pass than students who didn't. She has a pretty good pace and asks for feedback on her teaching style frequently which is really nice.

Dr. Chappell is AWESOME! Math is my worst subject, and I ended up with an A+ in this class. She is helpful, honest, and respectful. She asks for feedback and you can tell she genuinely cares. She offers extra credit, and extra help sessions. If you don't pass this class it's your own fault.

She is a great teacher. She makes math concepts very easy to understand. She gives extra credit during the second half of the semester to those who show up. Exams are not too hard, though doing the homework and quizzes are a must.

The method used for note taking allowed me to pass every test (except the first one because I was skipping class to much), but once I started showing up and receiving the handouts I was able to pass every test; there was only four test and the final was not accumulative.

The homework that is assigned on MyMathLab are not mandatory or due, but the quizzes are. You usually have 3 tries for each quiz She takes her time and asks for class feedback for how she can improve her teaching and allow the rest of the class to have a better experience when learning. Easiest class. She went super slow, can be good if you are not good at math, but pretty boring if you are not. Kind of a push over, would let you retake any quiz if you just ask and give an excuse. Really nice person but lectures are kind of dry. For MATH 101, DO NOT buy the text book, just the online access which you will need.

Math101 is one of the easiest classes to take. Kelly is a great professor and wants to see her students do well in the course. Some of the material can get very tedious but going to lab will help a lot. She is very flexible when retaking quizzes, and has clear and concise lectures.

This class is taken by many of the people that need 3 credits of math for their majors in order to graduate. Many students are not in this class because they love math. Dr. Chappell is very helpful and if you show up to class and get the handouts everyday you will never have to stay for lab. Do the quizzes, pay attention, easy A.

Attendance matters so show up to class. Its kind of like torture to sit through a lecture of 45 minutes to explain a topic that should have taken 5. Take that as you will. Definitely easy, but if you want to learn anything this class is not right. Dr Chappell is very nice, its just the topics are ridiculously easy and totally irrelevant.

This class was wonderful. Attendance is not exactly mandatory but the more classes you do attend the better test grades you will honestly receive. Dr. Chappell was not my professor for this course, she held study session for the class. She is a life saver !!!! I didn't know what i was doing at all at the beginning. After going to her study sessions, everything made sense. She would go more in depth with explaining and also go over multiple ways to figure out the solution to the problem.

Dr. Chappell was not the professor for MATH 141, but she held daily tutoring sessions in the Weber Center (Pace Center). She absolutely saved my grade in this class. Make sure that you attend these tutoring sessions and she will be sure to make the class a million times easier. Very great resource for this course.

Dr. Chappell is an amazing professor. She is talented in the way she teach, she makes complicated topics very simple. She takes the time to prepare, she makes sure everyone on the same page. She is very caring , tries to use different methods between home work, group activities and one on one help ( teaching assistants, office hours and tutouring.

I didn't have kelly for the semester of calc but I did go to her review session for the final and I can tell you that I understood more in the 2 hours than what was taught over the whole semester. Calc can be rushed but she really took her time to explain everything step by step as well as use tips/tricks/visuals for how to learn it.

I did not actually take Kelly for MATH 141 but she did hold review sessions before each exam and office hours. She is one of the best math professors I have ever been taught by and teaches a slow easy to understand pace. She will always make sure everyone understands before moving on and makes herself more than accessible for help out of class.

I did not have her specifically for my class. But she held the review sessions for MATH141 and it really helped. I love the way she explains things as if you never learned them so you can fully get the concept again before a quiz or a test.

Extremely wonderful and kind women, she wants everyone to get an A and she will help in any way to get you there. Come to class, lectures a little slow but you have packets and if you show up you will get no less than on a B each test. Attendance is crucial and you are giving points every class period. GO ITS SO EASY

Kelly was honestly so amazing. She was always willing to work with students, very easily accessible outside of class hours. Great at responding to emails. She was always willing to work with me to make sure my grade was doing okay, and took an interest in my personal life so she could best assist me. Has lots of exam review sessions.

Kelly is one of the most caring professors at CSU. She really wants you to pass and will give you the option to get an 8% curve on each test. If you show up every day, she'll curve your whole grade 3%. She's funny and understands most people don't like math and will try to make you enjoy it!

Dr. Chappell has clear expectations, is well organized, and is a really kind individual who's always willing to help (go to office hours!). Very good lecturer. Fair and consistent grading. Explains high level content in a much more palatable form than other sections stuck with a TA. Genuinely cares about her students.

I took Kelly my freshman year for the AUCC math credit. This is one of the easiest math courses I have ever taken. She does a really good job with lecturing at an easy to understand pace. She is always accessible and is always answered emails very quickly.

Professor Chappell is amazing! She makes sure everyone understands whats going on, she goes a good pace and is accessible outside of class. The content is easy and there no homework other than weekly quizzes which you get infinite tries on. Definitely recommend 100%

Dr. Kelly genuinely cares about students understanding the material. She knows that many students majoring in the social sciences arent big fans of math, but her pacing allows students to ask questions. Toward the end of the semester she switched to Zoom for her mothers health, but she ensured that class recordings were available to watch.

ok so Kelly is a wonderful professor and cares a lot about her students, she is easy to talk to both in and out of class and the ta's were also wonderful. she does almost everything online like quizzes and homework which is nice, and the tests were in person and only took about 30mins to complete. She teaches in a fun way. She offers extra help too

Kelly is certainly one of the kindest professors you will encounter. I am not a math person at all, but I enjoyed her class so much and did awesome in it. She truly wants each of her students to succeed so she makes sure everyone is prepared for tests and quizzes and she offers many extra credit opportunities. Definitely would take her class again!

The course Math 101 was really easy but the pace in which the class was taught was so slow it was hard to pay attention. It was clear she cared about everyone learning the material it just wasn't beneficial the way she taught to all. Reaching out to her was hard but the TA's responded fast. Overall a good class and easy especially for liberal arts.

Kelly is super kind and puts the success of her students first. All of her class materials are very accessible and organized. This class gave me my first A in math ever. She encourages questions and gives plenty of extra credit and office hours. She knows what she's talking about and works problems extensively.

Dr. Kelly is an amazing professor. She really cares if everyone in the class is understanding, with regular polls on understanding. She's very clear and is good at emphasizing the important factors in the lesson.

Took this cause I failed AP Calc, was really easy to follow. Took random attendance and had outside help sessions. Didn't have to many bad quizes/tests.

Professor Chappell is a great math teacher who really cares about student success. The class is challenging but manageable with the right approach - attending lectures, using the free textbook, and trying Unstuck AI for extra practice can make a big difference.

Best professor I have had at CSU. Kelly cares deeply about her students and their understanding of the content. Every topic in this class builds on the last and the pace of the class was very good. Take this class with Kelly if you have the chance.
