Nice teacher, helps out alot, but can lack patience and doesn't like to get involved with students on a personal level which can make her seem cold and brazen.

she is a really nice person and a good teacher. the readings are super boring and you have to spend so much time in the wrc. the research paper is impossible to get a good grade on.

Kelly is a great instructor, and she is very clear about her teachings. She is not an easy teacher, but she gives credit when credit is due. If your looking for a teacher who will give you an easy "A" then look else where.

Kelly demands her students to do a lot of work. She is serious about the material and you can become equally serious if you participate. She is VERY passionate about lit and wonderfully engages her students with crtical discussion and various activities. Don't neglect her knowledge and off. hrs.

She was a good teacher. but she is really hard! She made us do alot of work. At times the class was fun, but then again she was really ****y also!

Kelly is the best teacher I have had at RCC. I always encourage people to take a course with her. She definantly does expect a good deal of work from her students, but in the end its only for the students benefit. It is also obvious that she puts as much effort into the class as she expects from her students.

This class offers a heavy workload and intense discussions that require having done you homework, but you leave with a mastery of the material taught. (And no professor has never made intellect so sexy.)

Kelly is an amazing professor. Her class really helped me prepare for transfer and I learned so much. She's amazing. Take a class with her if you plan to transfer to university, especially as an English major.

I'm about to graduate with my bachelors- all I can say is that had I NOT had Kelly back in junior college, I would NEVER have made it!! She is amazing and really prepared me for my future studies (in a discipline outside of English, no less). If you get the chance to study with her, do!!

Ignore what the bitter person below has said! Kelly is awesome! Yes you have to work for your grade, but what do you expect - this is college! She is smart, funny, beautiful, and is more than willing to help you with anything related (and sometimes, even unrelated) to the class. Trust me: Kelly is one of the best professors at RCC!

It's not easy. I mean, it's a lot of writing. but hey, it is English Composition, and Kelly helps you in any way possible. She makes herself available so that you can really improve your skills, and get any questions you may have answered.

Hard class, but I learned more in her class than in any other English class at RCC. If you want to be a successful writer, then take her class.

Her class was one of the hardest English classes that I've ever taken, but I really enjoyed it. I learned so much from her, even though I thought I already knew everything there was to know about English. I had such a rewarding experience in her class on many different levels. I recommend her to everyone who isn't afraid of a little hard work.

Although I am still in progress with this class, I think I can say that I really like her so far. She sparks the GREATIST discussions about the Heath and I love her essay prompts. She knows how to dress (cute outfits), and is silly, but REALLY REALLY REALLY smart at the same time. She makes class go by quickly and she is funny.

Be warned! She is an EXTREMELY hard grader. And there is no lenience whatsoever with her. I talked to her about a paper that I had difficulties with format and stuff and she sounded like she totally understood and she said "No problem!" when i got my grade back it was lower than anything I've ever got before! She's done it before. Don't take her!

She is a really good teacher for a literature class. Just as a warning she is difficult. In other words, be ready to read a lot, and to write a bunch of essays. In short, I recommend her highly if you want a challenge. But she is still a good teacher regardless of her difficulty.

Hard class but I recommend if you want your money's worth. Interesting reading selections. Kelly leads an entertaining class--she is funny but you still have to do the work and a lot of it! She will help you every step of the way, just ask. Excellent class if you really want to learn!

She is a very good teacher, but extremely challenging. There is so much work to do that it seems like she teaches as if her class was the only one you were taking. You can learn a lot from her if you are ready for the large amount of hard homework. I warn you, it wont be easy. Good luck!...you'll need it.

Spring 07-tough grader but the material was incredibly interesting and she makes sure you always understand the context. She's funny and sarcastic as hell! Her dissertation was on symbolic cannibalism in the english language- how awesome is that?! she's amaaaazing! definitely recommend if u don't mind being forced to think outside the box!!

Took her American Lit class in 03. It was one of the most interesting and the reading was great. She has a wonderful book selection. She is a liberal prof. who loves political lit. She is very kind to her LGBT students, so if your gay then you will get a lot of brain food from her class. Talk to her about oppression and subversion in office hours

Unquestionably one of the best professors I've had. If you are open to thinking outside of your comfort zone then this class will definately broaden your intellectual horizons.

Kelly is a fantastic teacher and a genuinely good person. Her class is difficult, but as long as you put in the effort and pay attention to what she attempts to get across you'll have a great experience. Just don't underestimate her, she can be a fire cracker. HAVE FUN!

I loved Kelly Douglass!Even though she is a tough grader, this professor really a good teacher. I left with so much knowledge. This class teaches you what you'll come across in the near future. i always got C's on her papers but if you go everyday and get on her good side she will take you into good account. YOu have to revise your papers especially on your portfolio. just do good on the papers, if she sees improvement she'll give you a good grade

Best English professor I've ever had. It's hard to loose interest in this class she always considers our interest, or maybe she just likes our class but I look forward to Eng 1A with her.

Prof. Douglass is one the most helpful, clear teachers at RCC. Although she grades harshly, I learn a tremendous amount of helpful material that help progressed my writing. She kept the class interesting by discussing today's most controversial issues. Keep up with the work, reading, and attend class regularly. Would recommend.

Kelly Douglass is a awesome English professor. She might be demanding on the work she assigns but you will enjoy being in her class. She knows her stuff and she wants her students to succeed. The papers you write in her class are interesting.

Professor Douglass is very smart and clear about the English language. However, she wasn't very clear on telling students to be more respectful and considerate of other students. She tends to trail off the subject A LOT, and she's way too lenient on students who are inconsiderate and rude.

Professor Douglass is an amazing educator. Before, I never considered myself a writer, nor have had any interest in English composition. Douglass has brought out and cultivated a side of me that I never knew existed. I truly enjoy her class and the material. Although she is demanding, if you complete everything you're asked to do, you'll do great.

Lots of critical thinking essays but its mandatory not because she wants them. She really cares about her students' grades but wont curve ONLY clarify. She is always making herself available to talk to over email or in person. Likes to rant a little but shes very funny. WE USE THE BOOK RELIGIOUSLY. We quote the ish out of it. I'd recommend her alot

I loved this class. She is really helpful and a funny person. She does get distracted (usually about her kids and husband), but it was all fun and sometimes had something to do with the course. Although she is all these things, she is not easy! She makes you earn your grade. I got an F on my first essay, but I left the class with a B in the end. :D

She has a witty and hilarious personality that keeps the classroom entertaining. Attendance is a must if you want an A. You cant ask for more out of an English professor.

She's tough, and expects a lot out of you. The thing that nobody ever mentions is Participation. Participation is a must, and she puts you in groups that you cannot choose. It's expected you contribute in discussion. You have to do the readings otherwise she gets upset and gives you a reading quiz. There's not Extra Credit. Do well! and everything.

Professor Douglass is amazing! This is my second class with her and I plan on taking another next year. She cares so much for her students and puts so much effort into her classes. Her classes were tough, but completely manageable. She offers a lot of additional help through office hours and e-mail. I would highly recommend.

Participate in discussions, do the readings, and you're on the fast track to passing. She's a very difficult grader, but you'll catch on how to improve on your writing in her class. She's also very casual with her class and inspires learning, rather than demanding it. Recommended. She's adorable too. Looks and personality.

She's very helpful and funny and facilitates interesting class discussion. The papers aren't too bad and she's an easy grader (and very willing to help with the writing process). Doing the readings and showing up to class is an absolute must if you want to do well, but besides the papers and the readings there's not a lot of homework.

Its been a dozen years since I took both her classes; I was looking her up because of a discussion got into with others about teachers that taught and really impacted your thinking. This is one woman that can teach well. I knew only basics in English before her class. I won't lie, it's not an easy class, but if you want to learn, she will help you.

Prof. Douglass is absolutely awesome. 1A and 1B experiences were the same. Class is tough but show up, participate, do the readingshomework you will be fine. She is a tough grader but fair. If you have difficulties she is more than willing to help anyone who is willing to put in the work. Her lectures are funny and engaging and she is very sweet.

I have never met a professor quite like Douglass. She is absolutely phenomenal! Hilarious, outspoken, and works well with her students. I had so much fun learning in 1A, I definitely recommend her! Lots of reading but it's interesting, and your essay prompts are in depth. You have to work for an A, but you'll reap the benefits.

Professor Douglass is amazing. She always push the students forward and motivates them to keep the good work and to try again if they have failed more than once. I really like the class themes she chooses to teach and the readings are very interesting and are related to the student success. Just do the readings and you will be fine.

I just took Professor Douglass and she really is an amazing professor. She cares and she will let you know she cares. Get ready to read, the reading gets overwhelming sometimes but it is nothing you can't handle. The papers aren't hard AT ALL and she takes you step by step and you are never lost. She is very funny! She is a great professor. Its a work load but she walks you through everything and is super helpful. She makes the class go by so fast, really involved with her students and how to help us stay on track with everything. Alot of reading and papers! But she separates them throughout the semester so it doesn't feel like alot. One of my favorites.

I love professor Douglass. She is always super excited to come to class and is very easy to approach. It is alot of reading, but there are intensive class disscusions that help you understand the reading. And the papers and midterms are relatively easy, as long as you know the reading material. I highly recommend Professor Douglass ! She is great at explaining and gives excellent feedbacks on essays. In the beginning, her class seems overwhelming, but if you follow the syllabus course calendar and go the the S.I sessions, everything will be fine. All of the books we read throughout the semester really changed my perspective in life.

Professor Douglass is the single greatest Professor I have had in the entirety of my college career. Not only is she super funny and caring, but she is also a very good teacher. Her class is a perfect mix of lecture and group work. The grading is strict but it is well worth it because she is super supportive and really wants her students to learn.

Professor Douglass is an amazing professor actually the best Ive had in college. She is definitely going to make you work for your grade, but she does her best to guide you through the work . The homework can sometimes be overwhelming but she really cares about her students and is very reasonable . Dont be late because attendance counts.

It's hard to get an A or a B in her class. If you show her your effort then she will pass you. Before the end of the semester, I had a D+, after the Final, I got a C which is something I didn't expect. I left everything on the floor for all 16 weeks and I'm grateful that she gave me a passing grade.

Shes an amazing teacher. She really gets involved with students and helps them pass the class. If you have any questions just email her and shell always respond back. I would totally recommend her.

Kelly is the best ENG professor I've ever had. Expect a lot of weekly reading (discussed in class daily), 4 homework essays, 3 or 4 short answer quizzes, and a times essay final. She is extremely funny and motivational. She WANTS to help you succeed in the class. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!!! If you put in the work, you'll pass easily.

She is a helpful women who helps anyone who needs it. She understands we have a life outside of class and works with your schedule to get you to pass. Would recommend a hundred percent!

I always looked forward to Professor Douglass' classes. Not only is she hilarious, considerate, kind and relatable, she is a great human! Also, she is innovative in her materials she uses. In American Lit we used the Hamilton musical in our course work. She is very accessible for office hours and you will grow as a writer in her class! Take her!

for me english is a hard subject because i suck with writing essays but this professor does her best to make it easier for everyone. she gives great feedback on essays and explains how you could improve certain parts of it in good detail. she is also accepts late work cuz she knows that students have a lot going on in their lives. take her class!

This teacher was one of the best I have taken so far. She doesn't give long assignments though there is something to do before class every time. She made class enjoyable though people who don't like very energetic teachers may not like her. She isn't super picky on her grading and grades fairly. I would recommend it to anyone having to take eng1a.

An AMAZING teacher especially if you're just starting out or coming back to college, has clear instructions and expectations and goes over all material in an engaging way that keeps lectures interesting. TLDR; She's a very understanding and funny professor--Just keep up with the classwork.
