She doesnt teach very well but if you read the chapters its easy. Her tests are easy, and not much homework at all.

She is very intelligent, but has a hard time with explaining the subject. You and the rest of the class will enjoy staring at her in amazment by what she says. Your eyes will glaze over and you'll ask your neighbor, what in the world is she talking about? If you can read and do the assignments you'll pass, but listening to her confuses most people.

Lectures are not clear she has a difficult time with comunicating ideas clearly. She jumps around during lectures and at times does not finish complete thoughts

Her lectures are jumpy. SHe is not clear alot of the time. You need to read your text to get good grades on test. SHe does give study guides. Just study your text and not your notes. She does do test corrections and is helpful, just not clear
I was very impressed with her Microeconomics class. She is very passionate about her subject and I understood everything she taught. I would highly recommend her. One thing I disliked was that she did not complete the book which she could have by hurrying up a bit.
Dr. Markson is a great teacher. She is passionate about her subjects and applies real world guidelines. It's hard to stay alert in a 3 hour night class but she makes it pretty easy. I enjoyed my eco class with her very much!
I came into class with no interest in economics and now aspire to be Milton Friedman. Plus I couldn't take my eyes off the professor.
Great teacher! The class really kept me interested. Most of what she says is very clear, but she's more than willing to help if you ever need to come see her. I'd have her teach all of my classes if I could. Definitely recommended.
Mrs. Markson is a great teacher. She does have her days though where it seems like she has some trouble communicating. As long as you print out the powerpoints, you will do fine. Overall she is funny and really cares about the student!!
I thought she was wonderful. She is engaging and creates a very clear picture of Economics. She does jump around, but is more than willing to explain further. If you do the work (which is not much) and study for tests, class is as simple as second grade!!
Ms. Markson is organized, friendly, and very clear about expectations. Economics can be confusing, but her very clear explanations helped me greatly. He enthusiasm for her subject is practically unmatched by any instructor I've had at WTCC. I never thought I'd find myself looking forward to an 8 am Econ class, but I really enjoyed hers :)
She is good!!!She is quiet helpful n nice... Her class is easy
She is NOT very clear at all. Was not understanding of my Medical Treatments and how I missed class now and then... She is really rude and does not care
She has the potential to be a very good teacher but she studders so much during class that it made it hard to concentrate on the lession and absorb what she was saying. I feel that was the main reason why I struggled in that class.
Helpful teacher. I took this class online and my biggest problem was 3 trips to the school were mandatory; 1 for a bs orientation and the others for the midterm and final exams. Did allow for a 5 x 7 packed with info for the exams though.
she is very nice and wants to help you learn she loves her job and the subject. but she can be very unclear, studdering and bouncing around between topics covering unneeded material. but if you take the time to ask her questions aside she will clear them up otherwise good luck
Dr. Markson is a very passionate teacher and really does enjoy what she teaches. However, she is quite scatterbrained and is very easily thrown off topic. However, she gave a 12 point curve on the exam, 20 point curve on homework if you do 100% of it and all her tests are on blackboard. Plus, no homework due during the week or pop quizzes.
Good luck if you have any medical problems that take you away from class, I was one day over the allowed time with a doctors note and still had to fight to stay in class. Also it is very hard to keep up in the class, she tends to jump from subject to subject.
Dr. Markson currently teaches 3 Economics classes at WakeTech - 151, 251, & 252. I had no interest in Economics prior to taking her first class and now I have taken all 3. Plus, because of her I now want to major in Economics when I transfer to a 4-year university. If you pay attention in class and take good notes you can do really well.
She is Great!!!
I actually took her Micro and Macro classes in the same semester and was able to do the extra credit project once to count for both classes. She is very excited about what she teaches. Shows videos in most class relating to the topic... usually. I would definitely recommend Dr. Markson.
Great teacher with a remarkable attitude, work ethics, and energy. ECON has a lot of charts and graphs to go by in order to comprehend many topics. Dr. Markson clarifies all that complexity out of the way. Reading is intense, Quizzes are anal, and Online HW is annoying. Very pleasant, highly educated, and greatly respectful teacher !!
This was an online minimester class. Some of the most useful "real world" education I've received. Easy, well-organized class. Nice professor.
Wonderful teacher with videos that really make you consider all points of view. Incredibly interesting real life material covered, and teacher was very active in student discussion.
Dr. Markson was an excellent instructor. If your 4 year degree requires you to have Economic classes as a requirement, take the survey class first with Dr. Markson. It will help you with ECO 251 and ECO 252. Easy A+
Dr. Markson was simply AMAZING. She has the sweetest personality! She breaks down hard concepts to easy terms so you will understand them! If you need to take ECO 252 i would highly recommend her! Again you will not regret it!
Very intelligent teacher. She does have trouble getting her point across and gets side tracked very easily. She is very strict with attendance. I find the only way to succeed in the class is to read power points posted on blackboard. She's decent but not the best by any means
Best economics teacher at Wake tech!!!!!!!
She's a great econ teacher. would recommned
Mrs. Markson is wonderful. She makes all the information relate-able to real life experiences. She made this class very interesting for me. She was also very understanding for any incidents that came up and prevented me from doing homework on-time.She gave a lot of extra credit, which provided us with ample opportunity to succeed.
I would highly recommend this teacher. She does expect you to work hard but if you do, your grade will show for it. Dr Markson seems to really care about her students and helps you succeed as long as you put the effort into it.
Cool instructor. She is easy going as long as you are not disruptive. She is good by her office hours and will talk with you about the material whenever available. She is good with email. Mostly all her assignments are on blackboard and she is good about reminding what is due when. If you book study outside class you will be more than fine.
She is a great instructor. One of the best I've had while I have been in college. She is very understanding and really goes out her way to help you out. Give alot of extra credit to help your grade. She def knows her stuff. RECOMMENDED HIGHLY!
Great teacher. She will help you every step of the way. All you have to do is ask.
Life changing. Eye opening class. Dr. Markson is a phenomenal teacher, I cannot wait to take her seated Econ 252 class!
I loved this class. It was so interesting and I can apply it to my real life. The instructor, Kelly Markson was great and easy to communicate with. Looking forward to more classes under her.
Dr. Markson is an amazing, she is very knowledgable, very passionate, and obviously loves what she does. I had some medical issues and missed more than a few classes, but I always communicated and informed her if I was going to be out. Dr. Markson is an amazing teacher and I would be happy to have her as my teacher again...
Dr. Markson is a very enthusiastic and dedicated teacher . She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and wants the students to be engaged in the subject and ask questions. I like Dr. Markson because she uses other methods of teaching, she uses a lot of current event videos relating to the subject.
Professor Markson is a great teacher. I love her method of teaching. Very different and very effective.
study her notes that she gives in class and re watch the videos that was shown in class to have a better understanding when you go to take the unit tests.
Took Survey of Economics online. Loved Ms. Markson. Probably my favorite online class ever. It involved a lot of work (the mini-session is simply condensed), but it was organized, the textbook was $16, and I learned more than from any other class I've taken. Highly applicable. Should be required for every United States citizen. TAKE THIS CLASS.
She was super sweet and you can tell she really cares about her students. She'll work very hard to help you pass. Plus all her tests were online so that was really nice. She gives hw every week but its really easy if you just remember to do. I loved being in her class and would take her again.
I think she is amazing teacher explain very clear and with real example
Very good professor, I would take the class again, just to listen to Mrs Markson. A lot of useful information and very inspirational professor.
I loved Prof. Markson! I would take her again! She was extremely warm and nice, and really wanted to see everyone succeed. She posted study guides before the tests, and gave lots of extra credit. Go in to her office hrs if you are confused about anything! She's very helpful and loves when students show the initiative to come in to ask questions.
Dr. Markson is an EXCELLENT Economics teacher. After Macro, I was sorely disappointed that she didn't also teach Micro. She gets so into it and she's very entertaining (because of her eccentric mannerisms). She will help out any student outside of class hours and encourages saving for the future. She loves her job.
She is an EXCELLENT teacher and she is always there for you. I learn a lot from this class. She makes all the lecture clear and easy to understand. i am glad to have her as my Marco-eco class teacher.
Mrs. Markson is an amazing teacher! Economics is not an easy subject to understand but she is very engaging and encouraging. Everything on the tests is on the powerpoints used in class. She gives multiple extra credit opportunities.
I took this class online, it was not bad at all. I was retaking this class to get a better grade since i got a D at State, and this teacher was great. There's homework posted every week 1 to 2 chapters, and quizzes for each chapter during the week and post on discussion board. Two tests-midterm and final. The review for each test was a great help.
Professor Markson was the best teacher I've had at Wake Tech, and in life. She cares about your grades but really wants her students to take something valuable away from her course. Very passionate teacher/lecturer.
Professor Markson is an excellent professor she really cares about her students. Come to class read your textbook, watch the video's and ask questions.
This class I feel should be a must for any college student as you learn about the economy, budgeting, government. Chapters are short and there are lots of videos to compliment what you read. The work is actually fun and informative. Mrs. Markson is a very caring lady and wants to see her students succeed. Wish she taught some of my other classes.
I am so glad I chose to take Ms. Markson's Macroecomics! Instead of requiring students to memorize information she focuses on presenting lectures that ensure students understand. Her class also emphasizes in class discussion, which really helped me know how to apply certain concepts. If you do the work, an A is possible.
Highly recommend Mrs. Markson if you are interested in an Economics class. Her syllabus and assignments are outlined for the entire semester from the first day of class. Participation is a huge component of this online class!
i dont even have words to describe how amazing she is! i would take her class again if i could.
She is a great professor, you can tell she really cares about her students. If you don't get at least a B in this class you're giving less than 50% effort. I absolutely recommend professor Markson.
Very kind and has a passion for what she does. Make sure to listen to everything she says in class because it usually ends up on the quiz, especially the videos! Personally I've never taken notes in the class I just listen. Also she gives extra credit which is a huge plus!
Such a good professor and nice person. She gives real life examples and interesting lectures. This was my first economics class and she really made me enjoy it.
Dr. K Markson was an amazing professor! she is able to really teach the material in a way everyone can understand. she shows lot's of videos and examples as well, which really helps. if you pay attention in class, you can pass with ease. you do have to work, but the homework and test aren't super challenging or long AT ALL. very caring person too!
I am taking her this semester and she is a very good professor so far. She is a speed talker, so it is a bit of trouble catching up but she is very nice and gives expamples through paper work in class and videos.
Markson talks very fast, and doesn't always complete her thoughts. Lecture can be very confusing for these reasons. If you do the mind-tap assignments before class, it's easy. If you don't do those assignments and read the textbook, good luck. Markson is nice and cares about her students but isn't always clear when answering your questions.
I took this class as an 8-week online course. We did two modules a week that consisted of videos, powerpoint lectures, a quiz per module, and a discussion board. Markson does a great job of posing interesting and controversial discussions. We had an extra credit opportunity that was basically another course that was helpful in learning the material
Took this 8 week class online. Professor Markson provided lots of information( ppt, video and lectures) to assist in completing assignments. And helped make a difficult class for me a little easier.
Great 8 week class, all expectations are giving up front and course has a great layout.
Kelly Markson was by far the best professor I ever had. She graded paperwork on time, was engaged with the class, and offered extra credit. I highly recommend taking the money skills course because it helps with learning the material. Beware of pop quizzes, if half the class didn't show up, she will assign one.
This class was so easy I could'v probably skipped every class and still got an A. If you have a chegg account, you'l get an A no questions asked. All the tests are super easy. Also she gave us an opportunity to get 10 points added to our final grade if we did some money skills thing. 10 POINTS EXTRA CREDIT TO OUR FINAL GRADE! LOL it was super easy
She's wonderful! She could be tough for some people, but that is because she wants you to be your best. She creates an environment where you're not only leaving with the lecture notes but also life lessons. She does not like her students on their phones, so if you have her keep those away.
Very gracious about grading, really wants you to learn, extra credit is available. Her teaching isn't politically charged and she lets you make up your mind on how to politically interpret what she teaches which I respect so much. She is sweet & great at explaining things. Grade will suffer if you skip, but class is engaging so its fine.
If you are trying to figure out what online Economic course you should take, this is the person you should register for. She is very lenient and gives extra curricular opportunities in her emails. Cares very much about her online students, especially with COVID-19 affecting everyone. I'll most likely take her again for another course in the future!
I LOVED Dr. Markson. I thought I wouldn't be able to understand economics but she's a real gem. Great person and excellent teacher. I highly recommend taking her class if you need credit. She makes it easy to understand and really cares about your learning experience. I never thought I'd get an A in economics.
Professor Markson is outstanding. She really wants her students to succeed and provides supportive resources to supplement her classes. Grades very quickly and provides very clear communication around due dates and expectations. She also provides study guides for the exams.
Prof. Markson is great. She made the online lectures as fun as possible and wasn't your typical boring prof. Each week there is a homework assignment on MindTap to go along with the chapter. We have a test every few weeks and we had a final project. She does a good job explaining things, so if you have a hard time with eco I would take her.
I definitely recommend taking this class. Lots of homework but she gives a lot of different supplemental resources like PowerPoints, videos & also your textbook. If you do the readings and watch the videos, youll do fine. Its an accelerated course, so theres lots of work but its manageable. Discussion board topics are also super interesting.
Currently taking this class and it is very easy. You have multiple attempts on all assignments including the quizzes so there is no reason for you to do bad unless you are slacking. I highly recommend signing up for it if you are thinking about it!!
Professor Markson is a very good teacher and truly cares that you understand the topics discussed in class. The homework can sometimes be difficult so I would recommend starting it earlier than the last minute.
The homework assignments were challenging, I would suggest no starting it the day that it is due. ALL the quizzes were an automatic 'A'. She does not read the discussion posts so as long as you write something (literally anything) she will give you credit.
Professor was good at grading on time and was understanding of circumstances.
Mrs. Markson is an excellent teacher, and I thoroughly enjoyed having her for both Micro and Macro economics. Very logical. Only 3 tests and 1 project. No exams (the tests cover a significant amount of material). Do the reading and the homework and if you understand the material you'll be fine. Tests are almost entirely multiple choice.
While I'm sure she's a great person outside of the classroom, I did not have a great experience with her. Slides were outdated and confusing, the textbook isn't very well written and she often ignored questions in class. She clearly understands the content well, however, I feel like she struggles to communicate and teach the concepts to students.
She was a very nice professor and she taught using PowerPoint. I wasn't really interested in microeconomics so I can't really say if it was enjoyable, but all her tests were multiple choice and her final was just a regular noncumulative test. I found her class relatively easy.
Professor Markson is a good lecturer but has an "old-fashioned" teaching style that I didn't really connect with. Many of the videos shown in class were decades outdated and while the lectures were engaging, she often took time out of class to talk about other topics, most of which were completely unrelated to economics.
I liked Prof. Markson because she is caring, enthusiastic, and organized. I greatly appreciated her consistent weekly announcement emails with due dates. I will say that there is a lot of reading and watching videos, and you must participate in the discussion boards. Overall, it was an easy class to pass, but I do agree that the videos were boring.
As long as you study, do the assignments on time, and do the project you should get an A. The class is boring tho, and she loves to talk so much. She is a boring professor.
She was good and gave extra credit a lot and provided a lot of tools to use outside of class, and to be honest, those tools were the only things that helped me. She stutters a lot, speech tics, jumps around. Also claims class is being disruptive but her calling that out multiple times was even worse. Overall though good class, just hard to follow.
The Blackboard is very well organized but in class when giving a lecture she is very disorganized and hard to follow and some days she has participation quizzes out of nowhere. If you are taking any other class besides hers don't do work for any of those other classes during her class. she is very strict on that I learned that the hard way.
Dr. Markson is extremely compassionate and fair. She isn't pretentious like some others with their PhD and talks to you like a human being, which hasn't always been my experience unfortunately with other professors. All policies and procedures are clearly stated, she grades fairly, and doesn't overwhelm you with assignments.
