Knows how to solve math in ways students can comprehend.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She makes difficult problems easier by breaking them down one step at a time. She is very thorough with lectures and is happy to answer questions. Awesome Professor!
Such a nice and pretty professor. She's very smart but she doesn't really know how to get her points across. If you ask for help she will definitely help you out but her lectures aren't very clear. She gives a lot of partial credit and tries to help you the best she can.
She knows a lot about math and tries to explain everything in a way that is easy to understand. She is very thorough with the material to the point that you can still do the webassign homework without reading the book. Just take good notes and study them for the exams and you're good to go.
She really wants you to pass and is willing to work with you but her class is hard. Homework is all Webassign test are hard study a lot.
love kelly!she's so sweet i really recomend to go to office hours. She gives you partial credit and really tries to help out your grade. the first test she gave a bonus question without letting us know that really helped my grade!
She is very helpful. She's a really nice professor considering her age, which seems pretty young. Sometimes her ideas don't come across as clear, but if you ever need help, she's always willing to do as much as she can.
She's a very lenient grader and will do anything to give you points on a test. Lectures are very good but homework is much harder so you'll need to go to the free tutors in Liberal Arts 5 or need to google the problem. Her test come straight from the homework so you just have to study and you'll get a low A.
She is an amazing Professor! She speaks very clearly and really wants you to understand it instead of just memorizing it.
She's a great teacher really loves what she does. She has her own way of teaching and most of the time not everyone gets it but she is very helpful. Math is never an easy subject!
Very clear and easy to follow. As a linguistics major, math was a struggle for me, but ever since taking her class, math seems to open up more and understand the language behind it. You are solving an integral that is new to you, but you will get it since she is helpful during office hours and ready to help clarify the concepts into simpler terms.
The myth of Calculus II is hard and challenging is finally over. By taking this professor, not only you dodge the difficult concepts, but also the concepts clicks in as you take her exam. Her lectures are clear and understandable to those who are not math majors. She is kind, helpful, and always open to answer any questions in office hours.
She is the absolute best math teacher i have ever taken. Her lectures are short and easy to understand and she is super nice. I forgot to turn in all of my homework for the entire year threatening my A in the class and she allowed me to turn it all in at the end of the semester. Kindest teacher in the whole world
People told me that Calc II was going to be the most challenging calc class. I got a C in my Calc I class and I got an A in Calc II. Recommend to go to lectures or else the book is confusing compared to her straight forward lectures.
If you are in need of a Calc II professor, take Hasenjager! You won't regret it. She is the most caring, lovable, and hands down the best professor I've ever had. Try not to skip her class, though, because if you miss a lecture, you'll fall behind very quickly. She gives a quiz every other Friday, so be prepared to study, a LOT.
She lectures very well, but she grades pretty hard. She is lenient on some points but not every time. She will make you work for every point you get. Does NOT curve so you better study
Best prof ive ever had. Amazing lectures and activities. Lot of webassign hw but thats expected with a calc II course. She cares about her students and takes her time to explain everything to anyone willing to learn. Way better than all the other profs so dont hesitate to enroll!! Textbook isnt necessary but webassign is.
One of the best professors I've ever had! She is very in depth with her lectures and makes sure you get what's going on in the class. She uses group activities to help you learn the material and will take the time to help you if you don't get something. She is a great professor that i would definitely take again.
I was finally able to enjoy math thanks to this teacher! She is well organized, her notes are so clear/easy to understand , breaks down topics sooooo good, the sweetest instructor. Cute style as well :)
Best Math teacher
math 115 is not easy, get ready to work your ass off. shes a really good prof tho. very accessible outside of class and wants you to do good. large lect.
Kelly is an amazing, sweet, and caring professor. She truly wants everyone to succeed in her class. Showing up to class is a must in order to learn new material and keep on track with the homework. Homework, participation, and attendance are key to keep your grade up. The final was cumulative and HARD, other tests are pretty straightforward
Great! Cares a lot about her students and wants everyone to do their best. She does curve exams/quizzes if reasonable, might make more difficult exam questions extra credit and tries to give as many points as she can. As a teacher- easy to talk to and explains confusing concepts clearly. Do all of the hw/understand(!) it and you'll be all good.
Great
Kelly is wonderful! I'm absolutely terrible at math but she was so encouraging and helpful throughout the entire semester. She knew I just wanted to pass and was understanding of that. As long as you work hard and communicate with her you'll be okay! If you're struggling then just talk to her and tell her whats going on. Very kind. Take her class!
Professor Hasenjager is the best professor I have had at CSULB. If you pay attention in class and do the offline homework you should pass. She answers all questions and really explains the material.
I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Very refreshing from another Calculus teacher. When I had questions she was very through with the explanation, even if I still didn't understand. No textbook needed for 115, only the work packet, it makes taking notes easy.
SHES SO GOOD AND SWEET!! She will help you with anything! Her notes are so neat too! Three tests and a final. Activity is basically group work and it helps! Theres written HW and webassign, attendance is graded for activity! Do the webassign/ written HW bc the tests are based off of it. TAKE HER SHES THE BEST!!
Took this class and I really like her. You need to attend the lecture, and the lab is important too if you want to pass the test. Test is easier than homework so no worry, and you also get extra credits on tests too.
I loved Kelly! She was great. I took her for calc 1 this summer and she really helped me understand the material. She gave us refreshers on concepts we used in calc but haven't used since we learned them. She does webassign (some have extra points so I got 289% on one) that really helped boost my grade. She also assigns written hw but its not bad.
I love Kelly!! shes honestly the best math professor I have ever taken. shes really caring, kind, and does her best to help you understand. her lectures are crystal clear and if you don't understand anything she'll go over it until you understand. grades you fairly and test are exactly like the lab questions and written hw!
Kelly is a very good teacher who really cares about her students. Bc of the rules all the calc profs have to follow, ur tests are graded by people other than her. She went out of her way to make sure that we were graded fairly. Her lectures are very simple and easy to follow, I reccomend getting her as ur activity instructor if u can.
She is an amazing professor. Her lectures are super easy to understand and follow. She is very caring and always helps her students in need.
Amazing professor. Thought Calculus was going to be hard, but she is sooo nice and helpful. Calculus is a breeze. Literally one of the nicest professors I've had so far.
BEST PROF EVER! I highly recommend her, she is so nice and caring!!! She wants you to pass and will go the extra step to help you, calculus was easy because of her.
I was never a "math person" until I took business clac with Kelly. She explains everything carefully and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. She is so kind and nsuch an amazing instructor!
A lot of online homework, online easy quizzes based on videos, 4 quizzes, 3 exams, and 1 final. TIP: Math115 is word problems so go and see professor or activity lab T.A. during office hours or email them in regards to homework questions. Attend reviews from T.A.s especially before the FINAL EXAM that encompasses all chapters.
Hasenjager's class is honestly easy if you do the work and study. I hate math and I always feared business calc but this class was a breeze. Final was cumulative and easy if you study the past tests-- no surprises. You have two online homework assignments every week, quizzes here and there in activity. You get points for iclickers in class.
She is definitely the best math I have ever had. The lecture is very easy to understand and fun at times. If you ever needed a question for her, she would help you very well to understand it. One of the most respected professors, recommend taking her class if you are able to.
She is the literal best. She is the sweetest and cares about her students. Great at explaining and accessible during office hours and via email. Easy A. Take her!!!
Kelly was very good at explaining calculus. Even if I didn't understand a concept she was more than happy to help during her office hours. There is a fair amount of homework but it is very easy if you take the notes during the lecture. I would strongly recommend taking her class.
Can't recommend her enough, she really cares about her students. She is willing to work and help anyone and isn't the typical college professor. She understands the material is difficult and gives students chances to learn and get better at the material even though it may be a big lecture.
Great professor! Loved having her for Calculus I. She helped me do pretty well in a class that I was not well prepared for. Very fair grader and she wants to see you succeed.
So nice and caring and teaches really well. Class has 3 exams, 1 final and a few quizzes. Best business calc prof you will ever get!
Kelly Is a great professor! She gets to the point of the lecture and is really helpful when you don't understand. Make sure to take notes during the lecture in the workbook.
She's really good at thoroughly explaining her lectures in great detail; step by step. She's always happy to help and is always available! All you need is the course book and you'll be good!
If every teacher/professor in the U.S. was like Kelly, we would probably be the smartest country in the world.
She explains everything step by step and never burdens her students. One of the best teachers in school.
Show up in class and you will understand everything.
Prof Kelly an amazing professor. She's very clear in her lectures and you can tell she cares about all of her students. She's always consistent in grading things if you like professors that always update grades. One of the best math teachers I've ever had so far--I usually struggle with math but her way of teaching was very helpful.
Honestly. the best math teacher I've had in a while. I enjoyed this class very much. Also if you find this class hard, that's because it is. The concepts won't always be easy, but she does her absolute best to help everyone out. Great professor, would take again 10/10.
Professor Hasenjager was born with an expo marker in her hand! If she were a superhero, her superpower would be telepathy! She really knows how to translate mathematicatics into an easy-to-comprehend manner. I wish that Kelly could teach some professors how to teach. She explains every process and always welcomes questions. Best professor ever!
I'm not a big math person but I love her class. Go to the lectures and take good notes. The quizzes you take in your math activity are very similar to questions on the exams so study them. She explains how to solve problems really well and answers all questions you have. If you put in the work and study, the class will be a breeze.
GREAT TEACHER!!! Teaches in a way that makes a lot of sense and because of the small class size she is able to respond to questions. Tests are usually made of questions we practiced but tests(including final) are 68% of your grade, but an A is still attainable. She has a great vibe to her class and I'd highly recommend taking her.
funny, nice, approachable, and understanding professor. for math 115, you must pay for webassign to do assignments and an iclicker is needed for class. she understands not everyone is in the same math levels so she explains everything really well. go to office hours if you need help, she's amazing. she made math more enjoyable :D
A lot of homework. She is okay and does go through some math problems really fast.
I have taken trig in the past before in high school and I didn't understand it but she cleared up everything. It is because of her that I understood math way better now. When I say take her I seriously mean TAKE HER. She is so helpful and understanding. When we switched to online she tried her best to help us manage the class. She is such an angle.

Sure its a bummer to take ALEKS, but it's not that bad. <-DO WELL INITIALLY. Calculus isn't easy but Kelly is there to make sure you get it. She's clear and concise with good examples. ASK QUESTIONS. we were able to ask for extensions on webassign Homework, but I never needed it.
Professor Hasenjager is super sweet and explains calculus concepts in a very simple, easy-to-understand way. She's very thorough and un-intimidating, so asking questions doesn't seem too stressful. Also, with everything transitioned online, she made multiple efforts to get student feedback to try to construct the class in students' best interests.
I'm not good at math but she was super thorough and accommodating the whole semester- all lectures and her activity period is recorded. But as one of my first ever professors at this school, she set the bar high for me. the downside is we absolutely need to buy the course notebook and to get aleks & webassign. aleks was very tedious imo
One of my favorite professors I've ever had! She posts a weekly agenda every Sunday so you know what's coming up that week, which is really helpful. Homework is through WebAssign and you have 30 attempts for each problem and you can request an extension after the due date. Exams are what you would expect since it's calculus :)
the activities were helpful. the lectures were well explained and she helps with any questions.
Professor Hasenjager is an amazing professor! You can tell she cares about her students and she explains the material so well. I was nervous about taking calc online but she made calc more enjoyable. One of the best professors I've had at CSULB and would definitely recommend her class.
Professor Hasenjager is an amazing Business Calculus professor, especially during this pandemic and with online classes. She takes time to answer all questions that come her way, she's patient, caring, and explains topics clearly. HIGHLY recommend taking her :)
Professor Hasenjager is an amazing and caring professor!!! I was never very good at calculus but professor Hasenjager made it so easy to understand, she really cares about her students and wants everyone to pass. She will reply to questions with great examples and will help you understand the lesson. Great and amazing professor overall.
(Online Experience) Very straightforward. Lectures are filling up notes and activities as extra practice in a small group. Homework every week but very doable.
The best math professor I've ever had! She is really great at teaching and is super kind and caring. You do have to work to get a good grade, however, her lectures make the hustle SO much easier. Online she is amazing too. Her lectures are recorded and you can get participation by doing the lecture quizzes during lecture or via the recorded one.
Prof Kelly is an angel! How is one so patient and sweet!? Exams were multiple choice & fill ins. Weekly HW was simple. Study the offline HW to prep for exams. Prof Kelly really wants you to succeed, so she will do anything she can to get you there. She has office hours, answers emails, and gives you pointers on what to study. Easy!
Professor Hasenjager is an amazing professor who looks to help you succeed in this class. I would highly recommend her and would advise to revisit past homework before exams. There are 3 exams, a cumulative exam, 2 quizzes, 1/2 homework assignments per week, 1/2 lectures per week, and mini activities due at midnight of day assigned (easy).
She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I took Math 122 and Math 123 with her online and she explained every section amazingly. She wants to help you get a good grade. Her tests are difficult, so study the material. There is a bit of HW but it is good practice for exams. Overall I highly recommend professor Hasenjager.
Best professors Iv ever encountered. Not only that, she also happens to be the most caring!! She wants whats best for her students.
I dont really write reviews for professors unless theyre really good, and Professor Kelly is by far the best math professor Ive had since grade school. She breaks down the material in such a way that even a second grader would be able to pass this class. I wish more professors could teach math like her. Definitely take her if you can!!
The best math professor I have ever taken in my life. If you need Math 115, please take Professor Kelly. She is patient, she is kind, she does not seem to get overwhelmed with our questions/concerns. She always gives you feedback, always replies to emails, always willing to help you and break down all the steps to math problems. Take her! :)
If you need to take MATH115 make your schedule to fit her! She's an amazing professor and really cares for her students! She breaks down problems really well and gives good examples to showcase that as well. The class itself can be challenging but having her as your professor will seriously help. I always used to hate math but not anymore bc of her
Kelly is an amazing professor who you should definitely take! She records her lectures as well so if you can't make it you can always watch them later. If you do not have a calc background the class may be a bit more difficult. Go to her office hours and do the homework and you will pass!
QUEEN. Nicest professor ever! I'm not great at math but her lectures are very helpful, and she has a lot of office hours if you need further assistance. She also replies quickly and clearly to emails, and she posts her lectures on BeachBoard too! There's a quiz almost every week, 3 exams and 1 cumulative final. TAKE HER CLASS!
Im a transfer from a CC and Ive climbed by way from pre algebra, stats, trig, precalc, and now bus calc, this is the easiest class Ive ever had. Gives a moderate amount of hw, not an overload. explains material well. The class workbook helps a lot. U have to put in work like hw and studying but very doable. Shes also very nice and approachable.
Professor Hasenjager was always there for support I love the way she teaches. There are quizzes once every week (depending on activity) and there is homework on Webassign with multiple tries. Take advantage of her office hours! Whenever I had a question on the homework she was always willing to help and was patient with me.
Absolutely loved Kelly's class! She does everything to help you understand content, provides ec, & revisions on exams. Uses notes to fill in during class but posts videos so you are able to go back and rewatch to better understand, attend office hours to get more in depth help. Cumulative exam so make sure to not fall behind.
Professor Kelly is INCREDIBLE! She is so kind and truly makes an effort to have her students understand her lectures. Personally, I dislike math but she made the class easy to follow along. Don't be afraid of asking for help, she makes it clear that that's what she wants to do. A good amount of hw, final is cumulative.
Class consists of 2 online homework assignments a week & usually a quiz every other week in your activity class. Pay attention to the lecture notes and her specific examples and you will do fine. Very caring and wants to help her students. Lenient quiz & test grader, will give partial credit if you have the right idea. Very helpful outside of class
If I could take Kelly for every class I've taken at long beach, I would. Amazing professor with very well-organized notes. She is very clear on everything she teaches and she color-coats everything to help students understand the content better. Please take her. Love love love her!
KELLY IS THE BEST!!! I was nervous to take math115 because a lot of other students have repeated the course multiple times. I am not even good at math so it really is a miracle that I passed with a good grade! And its all because of professor Kelly. She is amazing please take her 100/5!!!
Prof. Kelly is amazing! If you have a question about the HW she will help you out after class or through email. Exams are very easy if you follow attend the review before the exams. Her lectures help you understand everything you need for the exams and HW, she is very patient, TAKE HER.
Things needed for the class were a $15 workbook, $78 access code for the homework, $30 ALEKS code, & $20 for a calculator. Professor's lectures are well explained at a very good pace. Highly recommend this professor. There were three exams, quizzes almost every week in activity, and the final exam. Exams and quizzes are very easy if you study!
Great and nice professor that simplifies the content through walked-through examples! Notes are a really good reference for homework. Any assignments that she gives will be similar to the test and quizzes, which was really nice! Takes the time to help each student individually if they need it during class. Lectures are recorded for later reference.
I loved Kelly, she was so nice and caring. The exams are easy if you study the study guides they give you and go to review sessions, they tell you what topics to study for the quizzes, and you have so many resources if you're struggling. Join the class discord because people who have taken the class before send pictures of the past quizzes/exams.
She is extremely kind and understanding and truly does anything she can to help you do well. Attendance isn't mandatory for lecture but the activity you get points for attendance. She posts all lectures/notes online. Gives points on quizzes/tests for anything you do correct even if you end up getting the problem wrong. Join the class discord!!!!
I'll post this for those who are bad at math and are looking for an easy math professor like how I was, DONT be fooled by the other students saying it's an easy A,but Kelly over all is such a sweet person & does her best to help you. Oh and You have to pay 77$ to do your HW, 15$ for a classwork packet, 35$ for another website and a20$ calculator.
Her exam graders are TOUGH GRADERS THEY HAVE NO MERCY
I took professor for Math 122 and I'm currently taking her for Math 123. She is so nice, approachable, and always available for office hours. The way she explains things make it easy to understand concepts and the notes she provides and fills out with you are a very good resource to study for exams. Generous with exam points and allows a note card.
This is one of the best professors I have taken so far. You can tell she wants her students to learn the material. Her lectures are designed very well and the way she teaches the material helps a lot of students learn. The exams could be a bit difficult but if you study the questions she provides you'll be fine. I recommend you take her.
I highly recommend this professor if you are going to take Math 115. The math class is pretty hard but with Kelly, she explains things very thoroughly and is very neat with her notes. Pros - Very accessible and kind when you ask for help. Cons - Hard homework assignments every week. They are tough graders when they grade your exam.
Kelly truly cares for her students! so much support and understanding. I 100% recommend taking her she will change your aspect in math and will help and tell you what will be on quizzes and sometimes on exams :) Clear grading criteria so make sure you do your work so you can fall behind. some of the activity leaders were ok she was the best!!!!!!!!
nicest prof ever & is very understanding if you dont understand something go to office hours she's very helpful. 3 exams & a final, quizzes almost every week in activity. 1-2 homework assignments due every week on cengage, lots of group work in activity, posts recording of notes if you miss, tells u near exact problems to study for exams & quizzes
She's probably the best math professor I've ever had. I had never taken Precal or calculus of any kind, and Long Beach threw me into Calculus 1, and I received a 95%. As long as you attend lectures or watch them online, and follow along, it's almost impossible to fail. Effort and attendance are kinda key.
10/10 RECOMMEND SHE IS SUCH A QUEEN. There is a lot of stuff to cover in class, so if you don't get something, go to office hours.
Best math professor I've ever had. As someone who's never taken precalc/calculus, she made it really easy for us. If you have trouble understanding a concept, she's really good at explaining it during office hours!
One of the nicest professors I've ever had. Calculus is hard, but she always recommends office hours, which she is very accessible, and tutoring. The class has homework for each lesson, three exams, and two quizzes. Attendance is not required as she records the lectures, but I would attend as much as you can.
LOVE THIS CLASS! It would be easy if you pay attention and study. She records the class, so attendance is not mandatory. Honestly, her class structure is so good that you can pick on the material quickly and easily. She is very understanding. Definitely would retake her!
Kelly is AMAZING! Kelly is clear in her lectures, her teaching style is easy to understand, and she is always ready to help any of her students. I am not great at math, but taking Kelly's course I finished with an A! Ultimately, if you want to succeed, you have to work outside of class as well, do the homework. There are 3 exams,1 final,& quizzes.
Kelly is an amazing professor who makes this tough math class super manageable. Attend lectures, study hard, and use resources like Unstuck ai - you'll learn a ton and likely get an A.
The lectures were only 50 minutes, but she made it easy to understand each lesson. There are three midterm exams and one cumulative exam; she also provides a study guide that consists of homework and lecture notes based on each unit we need to do. Quizzes occur during the activity, but it's not so bad. I fully recommend taking her class!!
Easily one of the best math professors out there! Study guides really prepare you for exams and her grading is clear and fair. Typically a weekly quiz based off what was taught in lecture. If you miss lecture, she records and posts it but attending lecture allows for extra credit. Overall, she is really sweet and clearly cares about your success.
Easiest teacher I've had. Very thorough and dosent require attendance, but does give EC towards your test for attendance. Explains things very well, and her study guides are almost the same as the test just with different numbers.
If you want to fully understand Business Calculus than this is the class for you. I had never had such a straightforward and clear understanding of the material. I learned more in her 50 minute class than 2 hours lectures. 100% recommend you take her class for easy A!
She definitely wants students to succeed! Her lectures were very easy to understand and she made sure to get feedback from students on what might have been unclear. The exams were just like the study guides she made and she was very understanding. She gives 75% of the original grade for late work turned in. Overall very caring and intelligent!
Professor Hasenjager is heaven-sent. She is an amazing professor--makes the material very easy to understand, is super helpful, and understanding. She's the sweetest, I highly recommend taking her!
She genuinely cares about her students. Lectures thoroughly and makes sure the students understand. Showing up matters to understand but it's not necessary if you are good at math. She gives extra credit points towards your exams for showing up to class so it's like impossible to fail this class. Love her so so much!!
