Such a sweet woman and so passionate about history! She makes everything easy to understand, explains thoroughly and is very polite and funny and easy to talk to! This was my favorite class this semester, it's easy to pay attention because we learn about interesting things. As long as you read the chapters in book you will do well on tests. A+

The best teacher ever! was worried this would be busy work and interfere with my other classes but she makes it easy. 3 exams and an optional final. powerpoints clear with test topics highlighted in red. mini quizzes which are based off readings (easy) and then 10 pt worksheets done in class. powerpoints are NOT on Bboard so go to class or fail.

Mrs. Hruby was honestly the best teacher I've ever taken at Moraine. She's super nice, but definitely not a push over so don't try cheating. You won't even need to cheat though because her lectures aren't boring. I wasn't even interested in HUM until I took her. Also, her powerpoints aren't on blackboard so do yourself a favor a show up to class.

Mrs. Hruby is one of the best teachers I've had. She's great at what she does. She has an informative and funny class. She gives lots of notes, but also shows a lot of movie clips. I'd definitely take her class again. Open book, open note quizzes. Tests can be hard, just make sure you take good notes.

I took HUM101 online and it is almost completely self guided. (Not a bad thing, just be prepared to make your own deadlines). She gives 1 due date for everything in each unit. She is quick to reply to emails and is very helpful with office hours. If you have to take HUM101, you want to take it with her.

Took 101 online and it wasn't bad. Not a lot of grade opportunities, so that puts a lot of pressure on you for tests. Easy discussion posts. she is really good about getting back to you with questions. She is dead set on deadlines and wont budge if you are late with anything. Just fyi. Otherwise, not bad.

I love Ms. Hruby! Her class was so interesting and easy. Be prepared for a lot of note taking in class but i find that better than writing papers and quizzes. She's super nice and very pretty! I was always looking forward to going to her class and i never say that about any other classes. There are textbook exams so make sure you have the book!

Not too much homework easy A for all homework assignments. 4 starts because what sucks is theres only two exams and they are worth a great amount of points and they will affect your grade significantly. She does provide you with study guides and she emails you back within 10mins

The best teacher at Moraine. I always looked forward to going to her class. Gives open book quizzes which are super easy if you read and do the study guides. Tests are based on the material we cover in class. There are four easy homework assighnments as well. She wants you do succeed. TAKE HER!!!

One of the best at Moraine. Very passoniate aboutt her job. Her powerpoint arent online so it's important you show up to class but she teaches in a way that's not difficult to understand. Tookthis class a year ago and it was a breeze. 3 units, u have the whole unit to get the work done so u can do it at ur pace. Tests timed but open book and u have all the ppts too. She gave extra credit at the end too so it wasnt bad at all. I didnt even think I would like it but it ended up good. Id say u have to put in time but its not hard

She was such an amazing professor!! I had her for hum 101. The class is easy if you pay attention and take good notes. She does not share her powerpoints online, so try to be in class as often as you can. There are quizzes on canvas based off the textbook. She also gives in-class assignments, which are easy points.

She is THE BEST! Took Hum 101, I enjoyed ALL her lectures. For once this was a class that I didn't want to leave. She just makes the material interesting and it makes you want to learn all history there is. She is honestly just the best.

I have no idea what pp wrote. I took the same class this spring and LOVED it! There's no big textbook for the class, just readings that are like 5 pages for each,and then powerpoints. You can make up assignments you miss for 1/2 credit and tbh, I feel like I learned tons. I signed up for her next class too. 3 tests, so nbd.

I've taken every class she offers. I love her, love everything about her. She actually seems like she likes what she does, unlike most of my teachers. She totally follows her presentation , makes things clear, and she is so sweet to talk to outside of class. Class is never mandatory so there's no pressure at all. You wont miss tho bc shes so funny

Shes so awesome. I took her 101 and 120 and ended up changing my major to education. I loved class and lectures. Her attendance policy was so flexible so that helped me with my job. I just loved the material we learned too esp in the womens class. Take her!! You wont be sorry

I took her survey of art 1 class and missed a test which brought my grade down quite a bit because it's a 0 if it's late. I didn't have time to read the book thoroughly but if you do then you will do well in the class. there's really not that much work for the online class.

This was a great class. I took 101 and 102 this summer with her and just finished both in half the time. 102 was harder bc there werent as many grade chances. IMO, super nice and gets back to you fast. 3 tests and 3 easy quizzes. Everything untimed except tests. I didnt even have to buy a book- all readings are online. Def take her, it was easy.

Awesome class, awesome prof, easy A. I've done 4 of hrubys hum classes and all were really good, fair, and simple to follow. Super easy to talk to. She wrote me my recs for pharmacy school, and I always appreciated how kind she was when I needed help. Her lectures have a lot of personal stories in them. Definitely take!

Easiest class ever. I have done maybe 6 assignments and the semester is almost over. They are all self explanatory and even if it is light work I have learned.

Professor Hruby was very straightforward with grading. I liked that she provided the readings for us. My entire class was online. Only the things that were graded were tests so you have to read the reading and go through the powerpoints. Was an easy grader.

This was my 2nd hruby class. Tips: Yes, you have to read, but you can't complain when tests are open note and just about all untimed! Readings are all free and no book to buy. Ppts are long but easy to work thru. Discussion boards let you post your opinion and final paper is opinion too. She is helpful over email too. If you can take in person, do!

I loved this class. Everything is online- incl. the textbook. All work is open from the beginning so I worked ahead & got done by April 1. I prob emailed her a dozen times with questions and she wrote me back within hours. IMO she was super easy to talk to and really fair. 3 units and about 15 total assignments. Essay final, super easy.

this was the easiest class I've taken. super straight forward. I literally barely even had to try. All the quizzes are openbook with no timer. All i had to do was look the stuff up. Easy A for all assignments. Tests are harder bc a timer but still not bad. You get study guides and she emails back in like 10 minutes every time.

I took 101 and 120. Was my favorite class. Her lectures are funny and the time goes by super fast. She's so sweet in person. I took 120 this spring online and it was easy to follow. What I loved about it was I could do everything at my own pace and work ahead. Totally take her in person if you can!! You won't regret it!

I took her online women in the humanities class over the past spring 2021 semester. Her class was really easy and the powerpoints were interesting. Also she was easily reachable by email. Would definitely take again!

Legit could not be any easier. Everything is online, book too, 3 tests were super easy. Reading quizzes can be hard but if you take the time you can find everything. She answers emails right away and has extra credit. Srsly could not be any easier - take her!

Professor Hruby is one of the best professors Ive ever had. Shes extremely kind, and passionate about Humanities. She makes her lectures fun and interesting and treats every student with respect. The only homework is readings. And you can use those reading on the quiz! So you dont even really need to read them lol. You wont regret taking her!

Took Hruby for online ART 205. The work is quite minimal, theres weekly quizzes based off the textbook. Super easy class, take her!!

had Hruby for art last fall. The hard thing was that it had a lot of reading. Textbook and online. But it was an easy A and she set up the class to make it super easy to follow along. For an online class this one was nbd. Also she writes you back to everything, paper, emails too.

In online class we had to watch videos, view powerpoints, read articles + do unit exams + quizzes for each. It was effortless when you knew how to ctrl c & ctrl v. it was easy to get work done and get ahead of the class. There was no final, just the unit exams (3), quizzes, and 1 essay (that I 100% on b/c she's a very easy grader)

I had Mrs.Hruby in 2011 for HUM 101 and then came back to school after having my kids. I had her again this semester and I can't say enough about how wonderful she is and was to me. She listens, she works with you, she has lots of extra credit, she meets in office hours, and she just cares. Seriously cares about everyone in her class. TAKE HER!

this class was so easy and so fast! Did the 3 week class in pretty much 2 weeks. 3 units, 3 tests, tests on the textbook, some homework. Extra credit for every unit makes this so easy to get a good grade. Paper but easy topics. class is impossible to fail!!! Took this 3 week class during the summer and not bad AT ALL! So do-able as long as you read and finish everything on time. 3 units- 1 PWPT test, 1 reading test, 1 film quiz, and 1 EC each unit. EC helps so much. Only 1 paper which is so easy, you just answer an opinionated question and there's choices on the topic you want to write ab. Take her!

This class was pretty straightforward, consisted of hw, quizzes, and tests. Very easy because her slides and the video/movie clips that were provided were straight to the point of the test answers. We had a paper towards the end that was pretty easy and it was a short, doable word count. She's a good teacher, I def recommend!

Finished this class, just waiting for my grade. Could not be easier. All open book and easy. 3 tests, 3 quizzes, a few homeworks. Extra credit for every unit. 1 paper and she actually reads them and gives you a ton of feedback. I retook this class with her after a different prof and she was AMAZING in comparison. I absolutely loved this class!!! I didn't know what to think at first but ended up being my favorite this whole semester. Hruby is really good and interesting and genuinely likes what she does. I have had so many teachers who don't care but shr really does. the reading is kind of hard sometimes but it's really not bad. Hands down favorite class.

I literally can't say enough good things about this teacher. She is kind and passionate about her teaching, She met with me literally every single week to go over my reading homework, and she was patient when I had so many questions. Don't miss the chance to take an in person class with her- you will never regret it. So wish she was teaching 102!

She cares about the students and treat them with kindness, extremely knowledgeable and skilled teacher. Majority of students can learn in her technique. She uses sense of humor to make classes enjoyable for the students. 3 open-note tests, 3 closed-note tests, and a good amount of extra credit. Undoubtedly Prof. Hruby is the greatest of all time.

Mrs. Hruby was one of the best teachers I've had. She was so nice and caring plus she had a genuine interest in your learning. The homework is not hard as long as you do the readings and listen to the lecture, she also has good stories to tell as well. If you need to take a Hum101 I'd definitely take Mrs. Hruby. Prof. Hruby is an EXCELLENT teacher. I learned a lot in her HUM 101 class and am very happy I had her for it. She is passionate about teaching and truly cares about students. I will be taking her for additional Humanities classes.

I took Mrs. Hruby my first semester of college and she was amazing! She gives funny and interesting lectures that won't bore you. During lectures she will show movie clips and tell you funny stories. She provides you with notes, that you will take down during class. Mrs. Hruby is easily my favorite teacher at Moraine Valley so far.

Your grade is made up of bi-weekly quizzes and two tests. Not very difficult, but you have to read the textbook in order to pass.

If you're looking for an amazing instructor, Ms. Hruby is the best option. She cares about her students and makes sure they understand the lectures. Her lectures are easy and as long as you write down the notes from the lectures you will for sure pass the class. I tried taking HUM 102 with her but I couldn't find it.

Easiest and best class. It is impossible to fail this class. If you fail, I don't even know what you're doing. Class is a few assignments every few weeks so it's easy to manage. Reading is short and easy. Tests are exactly what she teaches. She actually likes teaching so it was easy to listen to lectures and do well. 10/10

All of the content was very straight forward and the tests/quizzes are simple. This class only has one essay and the topics are all very fun/interesting. Professor Hruby herself is very kind and willing to help if you're confused about something. There is a lot of content covered but its split up well so its manageable. Wish I took it in person.

I took Prof. Hruby for both HUM-120 and HUM-101 and she is the best teacher to take online. If you have the chance, take her because the class is an easy A. I had Professor Hruby for Humanities 101 and simply put, it was a great experience! There is honestly no reason you shouldn't get an A in her class. She allows 3x5 notecards to be used as cheat sheets on tests. Great lectures & visuals. Points for participation. Passionate about the content. Show up to class regularly & you'll pass. Take her!

Easiest class I've taken by far. Only 10 assignments for the entire semester. Tests and quizzes require a good amount of reading and understanding but if you know how to use command F you'll be good. Cannot recommend her enough!

This class is relatively easy because there are only a few assignments given throughout the semester. The only thing is that this class requires a lot of reading for the exams. Other than that, she is really nice and responds to emails fast.

There is no reason you shouldn't pass this class with at least a B. She gives you everything you need to get an A with points for participation, notecards to use on exams, extra credit and highlighted notes to take during lectures. Great class! Take Professor Hurby for sure!

She is 100% the best professor I've ever had. Her class is so inspiring and we covered so many amazing women who changed the world. Tests are easy, only a few assignments, and she emails you back so fast. I have never had a teacher who cared so much, she even has her lectures all recorded even in online class.

Lecture heavy but she breaks it up with fun and interesting clips and videos from movies so it's not her voice all the time. She engages with her students and makes funny comments from time to time! Homework is due every Friday but very easy as long as you actually read! Handwritten notecard can be used on every test in class. I loved her a lot!

She is hands down the best professor! You can tell she is very passionate about humanities, and loves her job. She is always so nice and funny! She never fails to make her class laugh. There is never homework, but we do have a unit take home chapter quiz due every Friday. I loved her class, and her. I definitely would recommend her 100%!

Overall this course was simple. Very little assignments but can change your grade dramatically if you do bad on one of them. I would take it again but stay on top of all the work as it is an online course.

This class is HARD. I'm in 145 not 101 but it won't let me put that. I worked harder in this class compared to any of my others. It's a ton of reading and you have to listen to her lectures to do well. I learned so much I've never heard of before but it took a ton of time just fyi

Take her!!! 3 tests, exactly what she talks about in class and all multiple choice. Missing a few days won't hurt you, but if you miss a lot of class she will drop your grade. I missed 3 days nothing happened to me. About 40 pts extra credit. Reading quiz every week on canvas and occasional film quizzes- also on canvas. All very easy and easy A.

yes totally take her! she must have changed things because I don't have quizzes each week but I do have an open book test every six weeks or so. super easy, and is exactly what she talks about in lecture. plus she's very sweet and nice and if you do the reading you will have no problems. there is a ton of extra credit, just participate in class

She's the best- take this class! I've taken 101, 120, and 145 plus her art history one too. 101 is the easiest, 145 is the hardest. 120 was the most interesting. Extra credit in all. Tests are hard/lots of reading but totally fine if you do a little each week. In person is the best bc she's funny and understanding!!!!

I don't know how anyone could fail this class. I spent maybe an hour a week on it, listening to lectures and then doing the few assignments required. Extra credit offered too. Easiest A of my life.

At the beginning of the semester I was worried about the timed quizzes and exams. There is only 1 discussion board, 2 quizzes, and a unit exam for every unit. The chapters to read are so short 10-15 pages and the discussion boards are so easy. The teacher was so sweet and inspirational, she changed my stance on some things. I love this class!

This professor is very passionate about her course materials. I took it online, so I only caught a glimpse of her personality. Besides that, she makes all the assignments easy to access, so it's relatively easy to succeed; I just wish I had taken this in person.

This was a very informative class. I suggest taking her 16-week course because the textbooks+videos are lengthy. Taking the 3-week course can be time consuming. The quizzes and tests are timed but are open book. She's very kind and responds to emails quick during weekdays. Worth taking since you learn a lot and makes you really think about society.

I cannot believe that anyone would have any negatives to say about this teacher. I had Ms. Hruby 19 years ago in 2006, and my daughter is in her class now. I came on here to post about her, because I have never seen a more caring teacher. She meets with my daughter every week to go over material to make sure she understands. Kindness all around!

This class was genuinely the best class at Moraine. She has so many different extra credit opportunities so it makes it so easy to achieve an A. She provides an online textbook so you don't even need to buy one. If you pay attention the tests are genuinely very easy. She makes it genuinely so interesting so you choose her if you need the credit.

This woman is an absolute angel. The semester was super difficult for me and she was very empathetic and helped me get through with a passing grade. The course in itself was super fun and definitely a class worth taking.
