I liked Jarvis a lot. She was very nice and her course load of papers was only a few. She graded me fairly and made the class enviroment fun with discussions about what we read.

Very nice teacher. She's so understanding and she grades fairly. You must keep up with the reading assignments and the 5 papers due in the semester must be handed in on time. The final project is actually a verbal report and display! Lots of fun!

Good teacher. Actually gives extensive feedback on the stuff you write to help you improve, unlike some who just pass it back with a letter grade.

Very helpful, but a strict grader. If you make an effort and take her help, you'll pass.

She is a really good teacher, enjoys getting feedback from her students and does not judge like some other professors *ahem* Lynn Talit *ahem*. Participate in class discussions, put extra time into your papers and expect a good grade.

I'm not an English person and freshman comp on Saturday morning is not my idea of fun but I actually learned a lot about writing.

Kelly is a very likable, very bubbly personality who knows her material, and makes the work come alive for her students. I am an older student, and she has a lot of patience for those who come to class unprepared or unwillingly to understand what learning is all about. Kelly is extemely passionate about her subject and wants her class to do well.

I've taken Kelly for Intro and Intermediate composition. Both classes were amazing - no one left without improving his or her writing skills. Currently, I'm taking her for Brit Lit 1. She is very passionate about the subject and teaches with extreme clarity. Do the readings, take some notes, and you're golden. Highly recommended for any course!

She's a really nice teacher. she really gets into what she's teaching. it's really easy to do well in this class if you just do the reading and take some notes. i'm taking her again for BritLit, i'm sure it'll be great.

She's a great professor. She's very helpful, and hates seeing anyone fail. Just do the reading, take the tips she gladly gives, and take the help she offers if youre struggling. It's a LIT class ... Kelly is an absoulte godsend when it comes to profs. She is passionate about her suject and her class is not boring because she makes you laugh. If you do the reading, participate in the discussions, and take the help she offers to you everything will be fine.

Kelly is very passionate about Literature, and it shows. If you are considering taking British Literature, take it with Kelly. She helped me get through the class (I considered dropping several times). She is very easy to approach with questions or problems, and is very thorough with her replies. I wasn't a fan of Lit, but Kelly made it bearable!

Professor Jarvis is an extremely sweet and informal teacher. I am an English major and was kind of disappointed in how superficial the class discussions were. I'm sure most students would love this, but I was pretty bored with how basic each and every class seemed. I do not think that I was challenged or that I took anything away from this course.

Prof. Jarvis has a real passion for british literature and it really shows in her lectures. she is always upbeat, even at 8 am. she is very clear on what she expects from students. a lot of reading.

Miss Kelly is cool. I appreciate her enthusiasm, and upbeat personality. One of the reason I like her is because she's YOUNG! I'm so sick of these old boring professors. Mrs. Jarvis made Brit Lit. fun. She's young and happy to be teaching. Class was fun and full of discussions. As long as you read the works you'll do great!

She wants you to read 14 books through the course of the class... just be prepared for that. If you like reading I guess she'll be good for you, but if not, definitely find another teacher.

Jarvis is very upbeat but you have to read wayyyyy to much. We had to read a novel the last week of class and it was veryyy long. The final was horrible spent forever on it. Grades papers so hard you will rarely get an A, Bs are hard to come by also.

i really have nothing negetive to say. i had a 2 hour 40 minute class and she could relate to how tedious it got! she always gave us a break. she did give us kinda a lot of reading but we had a week to do it. and we had several weeks to write essays. shes a fair grader too. and she talks REALLY LOUD! and is alittle overly passionate about literatur

Absolutely adorable! Makes the material clear and easy to understand if you actually attend class to hear the lectures. Relates a lot of things to modern day, VERY funny and modern. Bubbly, lively, not boring to sit in the class when she's so passionate about the subject. Keeps things varied with lecture, group work, acting, etc. Take her!!

British lit to me was boring but I needed an english lit class to graduate. She makes this class so interesting and really helps you understand the material.Relates it to real life.I ended up LOVING going to this class.Makes the material clear and easy to understand.VERY funny and modern. She is very kind and caring to all of her students. She has high expectations. But if you do your work and do what she says then you will be successful overall she was a great teacher and didn't overload students with too much work.

Professor Jarvis is very sweet and is always EXTREMELY excited about the reading. She is funny and loves class discussions. The only drawback to her class is that there is A LOT of reading and the homework questions are very time consuming, but overall, I recommend her.

Very sweet, and welcoming, to all of her students. I loved how enthusiastic she was with each reading. I have to admit that her voice is a bit shrill for an 8am class but nevertheless the class is enjoyable from start to finish. This class was very easy, which is not the best thing in most cases but if you read the material you learn so much.

She's hilarious, a fair grader, doesn't slam you with too much work all at once and is extremely passionate about English. She's really helpful and always tries to put poems and readings into simpler terms. The presentation is really easy, so don't even stress over that. I would take her over and over again if I could.

From one engineering major to another, don't take this teacher if you have other options. I thought I was a pretty OKAY writing student prior to taking this class. But she destroyed any confidence I had in writing a paper and now I have the hardest time writing any paper.

Best English class I have ever taken, she makes the class extremely exciting and makes you want to go to class and enjoy being in class, even at 8am.Definitely recommend taking a class with her. She is also very helpful when you need to write papers.

I recommend taking a class with her, especially Freshman as she is a great teacher. Book is totally necessary.

Professor Jarvis is a doll. She seriously makes class exciting and interesting. She has 3 exams and a final exam. Exams aren't a breeze but if you study and READ you WILL do well. She genuinely cares for her students and wants the best for them. TAKE HER WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE. You won't regret her class, I actually enjoy going every week.

One of the best professors I've taken at Central!! She makes any material hilarious and relatable. You'll learn a lot and she magically can get the entire class engaged and participating. Put some effort into the essaysproject and you'll do great. Take her, you won't regret it!!

I have taken Professor Kelly Jarvis for my 203 world lit class and I have absolutely loved it! What makes her such a great professor is the fact that she brings to life all the readings we explored, she makes them more interesting and fun when she goes into depth. I had her for UCONN English 1011, and let me start off by saying her class at Uconn is far more challenging than at Central. So if you are taking her at Uconn these ratings are slightly off. She is an awesome teacher nevertheless but her papers require maximum effort to receive a good grade and are not easy. You will learn alot though!

The last rating for Professor Jarvis was accurate. Her class at UCONN is most definitely not easy. She is very picky on the essays and is a tough grader. She is however one of the most enthusiastic professors I've had and is very helpful and responds to emails in no time.

I adore this woman. She's by far the best English professor on this campus. If you need to take an English class, take one with her and you won't regret it. Her lectures are interesting and funny and her content is never too difficult, plus the group projects are soooo much fun! I love her so much, definitely take a class with her.

Great class and great teacher

I take Mrs. Jarvis at UCONN and she is by far one of the best. I will admit, her essays could be a little tough but she is always there to help! There is a good amount of reading but nothing a college student can't handle. I recommend her to everyone because she is hilarious, but she makes her essays relatable to write to. 100% recommend for UCONN

She's a great professor, very nice and loves connecting to modern tv shows and movies so students understand. The texts are hard to read but she goes over them line by line in class so you have to attend every day and take good notes, the exams are pretty easy and the papers aren't too bad either.

When taking a Shakespeare class you would think a lot of "boring history" will come into place. However, she made history fun! Yes, she made me interested in different topics I was not interested in studying. She's amazing, I would definitely recommend!

Professor Jarvis is such an amazing professor! I am not a fan of English but she makes it interesting and she uses great pieces of literature to read and lots of them are super short so they are bearable. She also gives 2 extra credit options for the midterm and final and they are SO simple, it would be silly to not take advantage of them!

Dr. Jarvis is a great professor. There are 6 papers that you have to write, but they are not hard. There is a lot of reading required, but if you take notes in class, you'll be fine. She is entertaining to listen to. She was a fair grader. I don't consider myself a writer and I received Bs on all of my papers. I would definitely take another class.

AMAZING PERSON AND TEACHER!

Loved EVERYTHING about this class the readings, material, classes and projects were all so much fun to do. This is a 492 and the work reflects that but this is by far my favorite english class every taken!

As an ME major, I barely tried in this class. Just showed up to class and participated in the class activities which graded on just being there. The only leg work you may have to do is the discussion boards and the Final project. Professor was really nice. Nice and easy credit for a gen ed. Glad I looked at her reviews before choosing my Lit class.

Professor Jarvis is so kind and understanding and she is only looking for you to pass and be the best you can be! Love her!!!

Took her for FYE, Didn't think I would like her but she's so sweet and her class is so relaxing and calm. The work isn't bad at all and I would def take her again. She gives off whimsical Disney mom( if that makes sense )
