I thought that Kelly was an amazing teacher. I've learned so much from her class. Yes her teaching style is different but that's what made it more enjoyable and interesting to learn. I would definately take another class with her as my teacher.

I thought Kelly was a great prof. She didn't give a whole lot of notes but when she did, they were odd and stuck in my mind. We only wrote 4 papers, which seemed to be less than other 2201 classes and more feedback would've been good. Overall, definitely reccommend Kelly.

Her method of teaching is suitable to a small group of people. There's nothing she teaches that you can't learn on your own if you are discipline enough. She's not insightful with her teaching style nor to her students. She is, however, a funny woman. Overall, she didn't leave an valuable impression on my learning whatsoever.

I really enjoy this class. I had a really hard time writing in high school and she has really taught me how to write a good essay, rhetorical analysis etc etc. I would recommend her in a hear beat. Awesome Class. She is also very funny.

I dont think I have ever been as scared of a prof as I have of Kelly. Good teacher, knows her stuff but also a hard marker. For her class, become good friends with the writing centre otherwise you will fail.. as she tells the class every class.

A little unclear with some of her expectations, but a great teacher. I have learned so much from her over the semester and would take another one of her classes. Hard marker on things you should already know such as spelling and grammar. Over all a fun class.

Defiantly reccomend taking this class. Kelly assigns a lot of in class work so you won't have too much homework. She also has a great sense of humor and a fun way of teaching to keep you awake for the whole class!

Kelly is so fricken funny, she makes the lectures enjoyable even if you hate english/writing. She does a lot of exercises for your benefit for later on in your tests. The best way to ace this class is to go seek her help when you're writing your paper, but not at the last minute! Srsly it's so easy to pass this course if you give a little effort.

Kelly was an absolute blast to have as a professor. Her lectures were very laid-back, and entertaining thanks to her unique sense of humour. If you put in the effort to attending the lectures, you'll do very well in this course. Highly recommend taking her class.

Being away from school and essays for 10 years, this class was to be my horror story. My first essay was a fail as expected, but I took the time to review with kelly in person. She helped me improve my essay writing skills beyond my belief. If you put the initiative, she is willing to respond and help until you achieve.

Even though there's a lot of work, it is very helpful. She does a lot of helpful grammar/punctuation practice. She is also very funny. Attendance is mandatory because she uses the discussion board on BB for classwork. I hate GNED1401 and have taken them several times, but she is the best teacher I've had. The work will pay off...

Kelly is such an amazing teacher. She is approachable and friendly and is always around during office hours. She is always willing to help. I learned a lot from Kelly and would definitely recommend this class.

I love Kelly. She likes to get to know her student and help them improve as much as possible! Her teaching style is very informal but it's really the best way to get to students. I would take her classes in the future! She has a few assignments worth a decent weight, but each assignment leads to the final assignment. She wants you to succeed!

She is great! She gives students to improve their writing. Beware of essay workshops if you are super shy to sharing your writing with your peers. I'm shy but I think it was very helpful. She is relaxed with due dates and will often extend deadlines for the class. She is a tough marker but her comments are really helpful! I would recommend her!

I thought that GNED 1401 would be so hard. Indeed, I received 60s on all my essays for English 30-1, but in GNED 1401, I received 80s on all my essays and on the group presentation. Professor Kaur is a great teacher, and if I had to take another English class, I would take it with her because her expectations and instructions are really clear.

Kelly is extremely funny. She for sure makes up for the course material being so boring. Midterm and final are decently easy for a writing course and she gives you tons of time to work on projects. She has crazy harsh attendance marks though, so if you don't like going to class do not take her course. Overall a great prof though.

Excellent. I was happy to take a class that showed me how to write and do rhetorical analysis on essays. Good chance of group discussions and sharing ideas. The assignments were clearly explained. Very organized. I just had to show up and do my work and got a decent mark.

Kelly is an excellent prof! My writing really improved by the end of the course. She really wants her students to succeed. She is a tough grader however and I didn't always understand where marks were taken off. All in all a great prof!

Kelly is available after class and during office hours to answer questions and provide feedback. Kelly is straightforward with her feedback; she does not sugarcoat which makes her come across as rude or critical to some people. However, Kelly does care about the success of her students and she will go out of her way to help her students succeed.

Kelly requires attendance on certain days, that she tells you beforehand. Otherwise you don't necessarily have to show up. Beware though that if you do not have strong Writing skills, you will end up with a low mark. She does curve grades, and if you follow the marking rubric then you can pull off a 3.2-3.7. Get prepared to write essays.

Tough grader for a GNED class. 10% is based on attendance and attentiveness in class. Kelly is funny and keeps lectures fairly painless through lighthearted examples and outside resources. This being said, you must understand what is being said or your paper will be ripped apart. ASK QUESTIONS!

She is amazing literally walks you through what she expects on all her papers. She's so funny and has a great personality but make sure you pay attention other then that it's an easy class to succeed. You will for sure see an improvement on your writing after taking this class

Kelly is an amazing prof. I learned so much. This is the only class where I actually learned how to write. She answers emails really quickly and teaches you how to write essays and grammar. She provides feedback that is really helpful . I wish I had taken this class earlier in my degree.

I found her to be very helpful. She proceeds with great intent. Be attentive show up to class eager to learn and she will give you her all. She responds to emails almost instantly and is almost always available for help. I was talking 6 classes and she handled the COVID online transition better than anyone else.

Professor Kaur is a great choice for GNED 1401! I was a -1 English student throughout high school and even I found that the first couple essays were difficult because she is picky! I got just above a pass on my first one which was actually decent compared to class average but as you write more and know what she is looking for it gets way easier!

Kelly is an amazing prof. Easily accessible via email and goes the extra mile - whole semester was asynchronous but she provided a google meet every week regardless! Her grading is fair and she provides detailed feedback & ways to improve. She's also very funny!! Keep up with the discussion boards and you'll be alright.

great prof! Prof was had Covid first day of class. 2nd day of class she went over the outline and we wrote a draft practice essay. If you posted it to discussion board you got a point. If you were absent you could post it from home and still get the point even she sent out an email to everyone. Love that we get marks just for doing a simple post.

Took Kelly's class last Spring (2023). I was the only one who turned the camera on. Just disrespectful! I learned how to become a better reader and writer because of her. Thank you!!!

Kelly made this class very easy. She trained the class well into writing at a university level. Her topics of writing are interesting. She is a funny professor and her lectures are not boring for a writing class. The midterm was a grammar test that was open book.. and essays were simple to write with good controversial topics given.

As far as Spring and Summer asynchronous GNED's, Kelly's class is a must take if you're looking to get credits to get closer to graduation. When I was in her class it was made up of a grammar test, 2 short essays, rhetorical analysis and 20 small assignments. It was a lot but all the assignments were fairly easy with very specific grading criteria.

She helped improve my writing a lot. Kelly is a very caring professor as well and gives excellent feedback. I personally found her a hard marker but that might be because I'm dyslexic and this is an english GNED.

Kelly is a very funny prof that gives a lot of marks out for free. Everything except for 3 essays and the final were free marks if you showed up in class. She tries her best to ensure that all her students succeed and would tweak assignments to make them easier! Overall, Kelly's class is an easy A if you do what she asks for!

She is a great professor..super easy going and funny. The grading was easy to understand and her classes were meant for us to practice to succeed. I would take her again.

Probably my favourite class of the semester. Taught me how to be a better writer, as someone who was not confident in writing essays. She's pretty strict in marking, but if you put in the effort, take it seriously and pay attention, you'll do well.

Her lectures were not too hard, as long as you showed up you should know what to expect. One thing is she did not post any lecture slides.
