She is a great teacher who does her best when teaching, her lectures are helpful but a little long, but that's college. Overall, really nice and caring.

Mrs. Maguire is an engaged professor and has shown her interest in my thoughts and work since day one. I really respect her and have loved taking my first college English course with her.

She and her I.A.'s (Instructor Assistants) are really there for you when you need help with anything about your essays. The only thing tough about Mrs. Maguire is that she will really look into your grammar but other than that, should be good.

Kelly Maguire is a fairly new instructor here at GCU. Her first semester went very well. She's an instructor that truly desires for her class to succeed in her course and is very willing to offer help. Her class is pretty fun and easy to excel in.

Show up to class and you will get your participation points. Easy class really enjoyed it.

They care about your grade and they also care about how you are doing not only in the class but outside of class. They are a very chill teacher and I would recommend them to others.

Kelly is a great teacher and she really cares about her student. As long as you attend class and be respectful while she is lecturing, you will pass with a good grade. To be able to receive participation points you MUST attend class. You must put work into your essays, she's a tough grader but it will help you a lot.

The Professor was a real English teacher compared to all my years in the K-12 school years. Overall she is just awesome and a fair professor. I would highly recommend future students to take her class.

There is not much material planned for in class, and much of the course is centered around the major writing assignments due. Thus, there are not as many discussions circled around the works we read. However, the professor deeply cares for her students and wants them to succeed, and she is very helpful in answering questions about the assignments.

Mrs. Maguire is great. She is very friendly and really wants to get to know you as a person. She is very helpful when it comes to giving tips to complete assignments and is generally very good at giving feedback on assignments. I will certainly be happy to take another one of her classes, if possible! :) Thank you, Mrs. Maguire! :)

She is extremely approachable and understanding, but still has a sense of boundaries when it comes to what needs to be accomplished. In this class, she allowed a great amount of creativity from her students, as long as they explained why it help them present their points in their papers. She LOVES literature and you will learn a lot.

She's well-versed in what she teaches. The thing I enjoyed the most is the fact that she allows for creativity within assignments. She grades strictly by the rubric, which is the most important aspect about this class. There's few assignments, but they're each worth quite a bit.

I really like Prof. Maguire, she super nice and fun. Her grading criteria is very clear, as long as you look at the rubric, you will get an A. Every day in class we got the whole period to work on homework, and were expected to do reading on our own. That was definitely nice, but it would be good to talk about the readings in class!

She is great and so helpful in class! She is very intentional and wants you to benefit and get an A. One of the best professors I've had all three years!

Very nice lady, would take again. The assignments were sometimes extremely specific and usually pretty lame. Never really got to write about things I was passionate about, and if she were to make me use one more "Scholarly Source" I might just go insane. I am pretty lazy though so most people will be perfectly fine.

She is a great teacher. Very easy to get along with and makes class very interesting. Also has really interesting and amazing life stories.

She really cares about her students and their grades. Expect a lot of time in class to do homework because that is most of the classes. Very organized, she can use LoudCloud better than professors that have been at GCU for years and she plans ahead very well. Make sure to communicate if you are having troubles, she is very understanding.

This professor was exceptional! She provided clarification on assignments as well as assistance on assignments and readings.

She is one of my favorite teachers that I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students both academically and as individuals. She works with students as much as possible to assure that they are able to thrive in her class while making sure she teaches skills that will be beneficial to the students as they continue their education.

Mrs. Maguire really puts an emphasis on work time and one-on-one student to teacher time. Class is good for asking questions, working on assignments, and collaborating with other students in the class. Make sure to pay attention as there may be something helpful in the powerpoints or mini-lecture!!!!!!!

This class would not have been the same without Mrs. Maguire! The mini-lectures and powerpoints are super helpful and the work time is amazing! She's always there to answer any questions and point you in the right direction. If it had been a different teacher, I would be miserable but with Maguire, miserable isn't even a word!!!!

I love Mrs. Maguire as a person and as a professor. She has meaningful conversations with her students and always helps them improve their papers and their writing overall. Minimal lectures. Small share of notetaking. Mostly just working on one of the 3 papers that are written over the entire semester. She's awesome but you have to work for it.

Prof Maguire is THE BEST. TAKE HER CLASS. SHE IS AMAZING.

This class was taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so the classes were very long. She gave short, useful lectures that lasted no more than thirty minutes. The rest of class was devoted to working on upcoming assignments. The assignments were often difficult, but she helped us all along the way. I always felt well equipped. Great Prof!

Easily my favorite professor in my entire college experience. She cares about each student, even outside of academia. She has so much knowledge to share, and I learn something every class. Her lectures are not long, she stick more to mini-lessons! Overall, a fun class and I learned a lot.

She is an amazing English teacher. She actually takes the time to learn your name and talk to you either before class or after. Had three papers and she's always willing to answer questions and help you if needed. Walks you through the paper. If you have to opportunity to take her class, do it!

Kelly Maguire is one of my favorite professors I have had so far throughout my college career. I never really had much one-on-one with her, but when I did she provided good feedback and was really easy on my papers. She makes lecture shorts, allows a ton of in-class work and provides students with feedback. I would highly recommend this professor.

Mrs. Kelly Maguire is one of the best professors I've had at Grand Canyon. She cares about you and your grade. She will work with you and actually help you learn the material and excel at it. While her critiques are tough, it means she actually reads your papers and is giving you the best chance to improve. I wish I could take her class again!

Maguire is honestly one of the sweetest and kind-hearted on this campus. She is also really hilarious and so relatable. Yes, you will have to show up for class but most of the time she lets us out super early. She was also really helpful when it came to papers and I feel like I improved my skills by so much and I wish she taught ENG 106.

She is a really great professor. I have always struggled with english but in this class she made it very easy to understand. She sets forth a clear description of what she wants from you and gives great feedback to help you improve. Show up to class and try then you will most likely end with an A.

My favorite teacher by far at GCU. She is really down to earth and you can tell she cares a lot about her students and makes the effort to learn their name and get to know them. She is really helpful with assignments, and spends one on one time with you. She wants you to succeed, and its obvious in how she teaches.

She gives good feedback and will answer any questions you have in a timely matter, whether it be in or out of class. She very understanding when it comes to personal emergencies if you message her before class. Hands down one of the best teachers Ive ever had.

The entire class was based on 3 essays and a little participation which could be a very good or bad thing. However, by just attending class you can (1) get clear instructions on how to write portions of your essay, (2) finish writing your essay, and (3) get quality feedback right away. As an added bonus Mrs. Maguire cares and relates to students.

I would enjoy this class more if it were structured differently. It was a methods for teaching Literature, yet we mostly did mini-lessons. I love learning from my peers but it would have been helpful to review a few novels or short stories throughout the semester and learn ways to teach those. We did this technique, but not until halfway through.

I loved being in Mrs. Maguire's class! She gives great feedback on assignments and teach-outs. The whole class was like a family at the end of the semester, especially because Mrs. Maguire made the class such a great environment. Professor Maguire is THE fastest grader in the game. If you go to class, you will pass. There are a few group-related projects, but Maguire gives you plenty of in-class time to prep. She was always so willing to help and she got back immediately and would easily set up a time to meet outside of class. I'll miss having class with her.

She is highly involved, looking out for student success, and even though this was a new class, willing and trying to find and provide us will all the information we needed to succeed. She conveyed her expertise in the area and pointed us to others who could help if she couldn't.

When starting a new class, the first thing I want to know is how my professor is. Dr. Maguire was nothing but the best! No matter what time or day she was there. You can tell she truly cares for her students and wants to see them succeed. She is always extremely clear in her directions and doesn't stray away from them.

She was so awesome. Understanding of my situation and always available to chat when I was confused or needed help. I have never experienced such an awesome class with such an awesome teacher.

Dr. Maguire is a committed instructor, caring, knowledgeable about the content matter, and above all, finds time to help learners achieve their learning goals. Dr. Maguirr gives timely feedback that helps students make necessary revisions to their work.

I have loved having Dr. Maguire so much, that I repeated this class for fun (HON-355, RMP does not have an option for it). If you have the opportunity to, take this class. You will be able to conduct research that is inspiring and have Dr. Maguire guide you through it. So thankful for her!

Professor Maguire is THE BEST! I have had her for multiple classes in my time at GCU and she is consistently a great professor. She deeply cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She gives specific materials and guidance on all assignments. If you have the opportunity to take her class, you should absolutely do so.

Class is mandatory solely for the fact that if you have the privilege of taking Dr. Maguire's class, you're missing out on seeing what a teacher should be. Dr. Maguire cares for each person in her class. Her class is also so easy, but you get so much out of it. Top professor of all time.

Not only is Mrs. Maguire an amazing lady, but she is also an amazing professor, and you will learn a lot from her course. Professor Maguire is very positive and super helpful with any questions you have. I would recommend taking this class as I have learned many new things and I have also developed different reading comprehension skills such as identifying themes within a passage. Professor Maguire is definitely a reason for that growth.

Professor Maguire is a great teacher, and this was a great course. The weekly videos that outlined what we were doing each week were helpful and helped me to be successful in this course. She is invested in her students doing well, which shows in her teaching style and approach to literature.

Professor Maguire makes this class engaging and manageable. She provides helpful templates, and is always available to support students. I found unstuckstudy useful for exam prep too. Definitely recommend this course!

Dr. Maguire and this class were fantastic! She made detailed videos clearly explaining how to do each assignment, gave plenty of ways to earn participation, and was always engaged in the discussion forums. I'm not sure if it is her or someone else who chooses the books we're assigned, but they were great. I highly recommend the class/instructor!

Dr. Maguire was incredible! She is definitely a favorite so far. We had 5 books to book, plus other required reading, and a final project that was a slide presentation covering one of two books of our choosing. This was my favorite assignment. I wish all processors were so wonderful! Her class was a great experience.

Professer Maguire was a fantastic teacher. Her class was challenging but still fun and she gave great feedback and was engaging with the entire class, and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Maguire = engaged & enthusiastic! She truly cares, as shown by her effective presence in discussion boards. I chose “average” difficulty BUT, if you do not put time in, that difficulty goes up. Simply, do your part & you will be rewarded. After MANY college courses, this is honestly my favorite so far. We need more professors like Dr. Maguire!

She is very reasonable and extremely engaging in her teaching! She is very thorough when explaining the assignments and provides all the tools necessary to complete them and receive the highest score. Her grading is fair and clear. She responds to many of the discussion replies and shows interest by asking follow-up questions. I 100% recommend it!

Dr. Maguire is an amazing and informative teacher. She is very clear about what she expects out of assignments. She responds to messages quickly and goes above and beyond to answer any questions one may have, She engages in class discussions, which makes up for not being in an in-person class. I am truly going to miss having her as my teacher!

Sets you up for success in class, just have to take the time to read the information the professor gives! Gives great feedback, and clear rubrics.

For an online class, it was easy to follow, and the lectures were concise yet comprehensive.

Amazing Professor, would take the class again, wouldn't mind her being my Professor for any of my ramaining classes!
