Learned more about writing from this lady than anyone else, yeah she's a hard marker, but she's doing you a favor! I had no clue what the hell commas were for before I met her!

Best teacher I've had yet at Camosun. She taught me so much more than I've learned in all of my years at high school. Her class enjoyable and I actually looked forward to attending them. If you can get Kelly as a teacher do it!

Kelly is an amazing teacher! She will help you out if you have any questions, and if you do ask her, your chances of getting a better mark increase. you have to work hard though, but its not overwhelming. very good teacher!

Mixed feelings: Kelly goes by the book and not an inch off, I'd say that's a good thing in first year, but informative and careful teaching is tainted by very high marking standards--a little discouraging. Writing is guaranteed to improve, however.

Great teacher that is always willing to help. If you are willing to put in effort and show up every day, you will succeed in her class.

This is not an easy class, but definitely worthwhile. She is a hard marker but it is ALWAYS fair - you do get out what you put in. She is always willing to work with you in improving your essay, but god help you if you hate english! I came in hating english but am leaving with only a mild dislike :P

Kelly is an awesome prof. She's always willing to help you improve your essays before handing them in. She's insightful, and helps you understand literature if you tend to miss the point. She's smart and witty. If you put in effort and participate, you will do well in the class. Highly Recommended!

She is a very bright teacher and I have learned alot in her class. The only thing I don't like about her is that she selects very depressing/sombre reading material for us.

She's very understanding, witty, funny, inspiring and sarcastic (the perfect amount). We studied Dracula which was very interesting. Loved the poetry section. If you are not imaginative this is not a class for you!(Kelly if you're reading this thank you so much for the 2nd chance)

Kelly is a fantastic teacher and probably one of the best I've had at camosun. She's funny, helpfull, knowledgeable, and understanding of students. It was actually quite refreshing...

I grudgingly entered this class because it was required, but it surprisingly turned into one of my favorites! I was excited that lots of our analysis was actually interesting and insightful...but that comes from a feminist marxist...hehe. It was a good time!

I loved this class. Kelly has been the first teacher since high school to really identify for me what it takes to step it up a notch. Extremely helpful and loves talking about the material. Don't be afraid to approach her!

Kelly's War Lit class was refreshing. I walked out of it with a new passion for that genre of literature. She is one of those professors you will always remember. She is funny, caring, and smart (though modest!) Challenges you, though a fair marker. You get what you put into her classes.

I'm in the middle of my 3rd course with Kelly, and she is definitely one of my favourite professors. She's a very helpful, constructive marker. She also has a great sense of humor and her lectures are motivational and really make you think.

Not gonna lie here English is my least favorite class by far, however, Kelly has been a great teacher. I've never done so good in an English class and I owe it mostly to myself but a little to her too!

Simply the cutest teacher there ever was, but has more energy and tenacity than most of the teachers out there too! Very approachable about class material, very smart and most of all, very friendly. I didn't want to take this class but ended up liking it. Kelly helped me be a better writer and picks really interesting stuff to read. I sometimes wished she'd lecture more cause what she has to say will get you thinking. And she looks awesome. A real sweetie.

Kelly is an amazing person and teacher. I would not say this class was "easy", because she challenges you to be creative and express ideas. She not only taught me about the stories and history behind them, she made you think about major aspects of life in general. I cannot wait to take another one of her classes! She's just awesome...

Kelly is a fair marker. As long as your writing is above a high school level you should have no problem with the essays. She doesn't even put firm deadlines on any of the written work, so an A is all but guaranteed. In class group work was done almost every class. The reading the reasonably paced. There was only one significant test.

Tough grader, but will help you improve to meet her standards! She picks some phenomenal stuff for reading, and is -very- funny. Basically, ask for help if you need help. She is approachable and I believe she really wants to help.

Kelly Pitman is a wonderful english professor, she actually made english enjoyable for me. Make sure you come to class EVERY day, if you do not, you will FAIL. Participation is a must. Kelly gives excellent support and feedback, she is always available for a chat, and is a tough but fair grader. She has a wonderful sense of humour. Get a printer

Kelly is very funny and one of my favorite professors. The class involved a novel study, many short stories, and poems. All exam questions are given before the exam. Wrote 7 quizzes, 5 paragraphs, 2 papers and exam had 4 paragraphs and 1 paper. Discussion-based class so don't skip!

Kelly is an awesome teacher! She is funny and enjoyable in class. She marks at a on the grade scale. She really cares about her students and the knowledge that they are learning. Her class was well structured with everything coming together perfectly. Highly recommend taking her class.

She is a good teacher so their is no need to drop out or be afraid. She says in the beginning of the course that if you ever need help come and see her. I recommend that you should if you are having trouble. (Also go to the English Help Centre, they are great too). Just remember to work hard when writing your essays. Don't be lazy...

Hilarious! Will have you laughing. She seems to say what everyone else is thinking, super down to earth, understands what it was like being a student. She will give you extra time when you need it! She is a tough grader but wants you to pass and will give you the tools to do so.

Kelly is a fantastic teacher. You definitely have to work for your grade, and I couldn't imagine being able to do well in this class without participating or showing up to class. Kelly is a hard marker, but she gives good feedback. She is also hilarious; this course had a war literature focus, so it helped lighten the general mood.

Kelly is phenomenal, one of the most down to earth profs I've ever had. She's great at making the material seem relevant, which is a hard thing to do sometimes in first year English; she makes her subject engaging and fun. She is the funniest prof I've ever had too.

I miss Kelly a lot while taking my second English requirement this term. Her demeanor makes you want to learn, she's honest, hilarious, her feedback is constructive, she always took time to be thorough with the content. Her course is organized, she is very clear with what you must do. Camosun is incredibly lucky to have her as an instructor.

Kelly is an incredible prof! Her classes are often collaborative learning instead of boring lectures. She is kind and helpful and I found her classes inspiring. If you love to write Kelly will bring out your best work. My only criticism is that we didn't have much choice of a topic on the research essay which is the main assignment of the class.

This class is mostly reading, participating and writing paragraphs.Which is the dream when you have more demanding courses. Only being asked to write a 350-word paragraph for 80% of the course makes this the opposite of hard.An amazing teacher who gets straight to the point.Come to class and you'll pass!We did read a novel if that's not your thing.

amazing teacher. absolutely loved this course, great introduction to academic writing and kelly is a lenient grader. she is easy to get a hold of, very sweet, and very funny. her class is a lot of fun, definitely a gpa booster, and a perfect introduction at camosun :) 1000% my favourite teacher i've met so far.
