Good topics are discussed. Her lectures are done last minute & there's little guidance in the class structure; you'll work hard in the class but it's worth the work. She knows a lot so ask the right questions and get everything you can out of the class. You really don't need the book it was a waste of money in my opinion. Be ready to read a lot!

She's very relaxed when it comes to homework, but her tests are quite challenging and really require you to know your stuff. People got fairly low grades on the midterm, but she did put a big curve on it, so she can be pretty fair with grading. The class was very intense and time consuming. Given this was an online course, the professor did an excellent job of explaining things when anyone was stuck. She was very helpful in answering questions. Weekly conference calls were held and attendance wasn?t necessary. The calls were recorded so you could listen to them any time during the week.

I learned a ton from this class...I have read the comments and I can't understand. She is one of the best professors I have had at DePaul AND she helped me land my first job! She knows a lot and you have to work very hard. She cares about her students and helps you learn.

She was responsive to email questions, but she didn't grade homework quickly. We took both the midterm and final without knowing how we did on our homework. Her Blackboard site was kind of a mess, old lectures and missing various items due to "technical" problems.

Great teacher! Her material is extensive, but for crying out loud do the in class work before you get to class! It's on the syllabus, though not required! You wont feel like an idiot when she burns through the material due to time constraints. Plenty of extra credit before the midterm. :)

She's a nice person and wants everyone to do well, but you really have to put in the time outside of class if you want to do good. All the work is done in class, therefore no assigned homework but she expects you to do all the problems on your own time. There are 2 exams and if you get an A or B on both then you don't have to take the final.

Loved the class and all the extra credit before midterm only thing I hated was the COOKIE PROJECT other than that enjoyed the class

This class was phenomenal. I took an online version of ACC 555 - and since she gave us her home and cell phone numbers, it was easy to get her help when the homework was too tough. If anything, this class was almost too easy, even though I'm not an accountant (though easiness is not a bad thing if your'e still learning)

This professor is a fireball! Highly recommend e book with homework helper! The hmwk cases require thorough understand of material. Highlight of class is her research and interviews which make this class like a CSI of cost acctng. Do cases before Wimba for most help. Had dinner with Aaron Beam - founding/ fallen CFO of Healthsouth because of PP.

Great professor. Goes over the problems in a way that is logical and she does them the same way every time, that way you know how to handle any quest. Gives alot of materials/problems to practice so you can study for the tests. I studied for a week and got an A on one of the tests. Doesn't curve. She really wants the students to learn. U can tell.

Great professor. She is ready to help anytime. It's best to read the chapters before class because she goes through the material quickly, so this way you'll be familiar with the topic. Professor Pope also gives great review before the tests. Also, if you are satisfied with your grade, you don't have to take the final.

Pope is a really good professor. As long as you study and keep up with the class you should ace her tests. Make sure to study what she tells is going to be on the test because it is. She is funny and has a great personality.

By far she is one of the best professor's at DePaul... She tells you whats going to be on test, had many review sessions, I recommend reading Chapter before class lectures and Study H.W. sets problems. You will get an A in class.

Great online class. Pope gives clear directions on what to study for tests, the cases. There are Wimba online sessions every Sunday and more are required where she goes thru all the chapters assigned, responds to questions on the case problems assignments. Highly recommended. Final exam optional. Books on white collar crime were great.

Anyone who thinks Pope's class is too hard shouldn't be an accounting major. She makes it extremely easy to pass with an A if you actually study. She clearly explains and teaches the material in a way that is easy to understand and learn. Great professor. Earned an A and didn't have to take the final. Would definitely recommend! One of the few good accounting professors at DePaul.

Awesome teacher! Really loves the material she teaches and keeps it very interesting. Only issue is that she doesn't respond to emails so if you miss anything you won't get any response.

Amazing professor. Loves the topic she teaches, and she makes you love it too. Kept the night class interesting with different styles of teaching like videos, handouts, lectures, and hands on activities. Very clear on what you will be tested on. Wish she taught more graduate level classes so I could take her again!

She is a great professor and explains everything you need to know for the 3 tests. They are medium-hard. Make sure you go over the homework problems. You do not need to take the final if you're satisfied with your grade. Great personality and lectures

She gives you everything you need to know but she gets very defensive when you ask a question. Buttt she's really nice and very passionate about accounting. She makes the course fun and easy through her own way of teaching.

She made class very fun and engaging. She brings in guest speakers who their personal experiences with fraud, and she relates those stories to class material. There were online cases/quizzes and a couple papers, but nothing too bad. Overall a great class and a very fun professor.

Please take her for accounting!! Why? Because she gives you everything that you need for the exam she doesnt try to make the class hard. All homework and quizzes are examples of exam questions so study them and pay attention to what she says in class because it is useful and youll understand accounting easily!

Professor Pope is one of my favorite professors at DePaul! Makes the material very easy to understand, available for questions over the phone/text, gives great examples for tests. I wish she taught more undergraduate classes, would definitely take again!

Shes a good professor that needs to go further into the examples she gives in class. She's funny and will yell at you jokingly and wants everyone to do well. The first test is harder than the second and the final is OPTIONAL. Great engaging class but expect her to flex on you every class with all of her out of class accomplishments.

Professor Pope can sometimes come off as rude, but, she means well. Shes passionate about the subject and wants you to learn the material rather than just memorizing info. Makes you work for a good grade.

I wish I could have taken Professor Pope in person. So, this is only a judgement of her online course. Each week is super straight-forward. She covers about 2 chapters each week, and there is homework due the following week. 1 midterm, 1 final, and an easy analytical project. Read the chapters, watch her lectures and you're golden.

Professor Pope is super genuine and there to help her students. There are lectures each week that takes about an hour and a quick homework and quiz due every week. She is always there for help and will honestly help you pass if you need help with anything. TAKE HER!

She's great and she's famous. She's understanding and will work with you if you talk with her.

There was a huge portion that included an interactive game played through redflag mania, which was interesting. When getting into the site at first was a little difficult because there seemed to be two different sites that weren't connected to each other, but both claimed to be redflag mania sites.

Great professor all around. I'm not an accounting major, but the class couldn't be easier. The lectures are never boring and she explains accounting methods very clearly in a step-by-step process.

Very good professor and a great person, she's super responsive and the course is designed to not eat too much of your time. Fairly straightforward, explains everything and gives examples in class, definitely make sure you are in class every day. If I had one complaint it's the MyLab quizzes, they look nothing like the homework and are impossible.

Professor Pope is very nice and accessible. Her "tests" are short and easy. The only thing I will really complain about is the volume of homework she gives through the textbook, they take hours to complete and are insanely difficult because the textbook doesn't explain how to do them.

As a returning student with 20+ years of experience, I must say Professor Pope was awesome!! I really appreciated her real life examples of fraud in America. Also, the work on Red Flag mania was fun. I highly recommend anyone who's interested in entering the forensic accounting side of audit. Take her!!

She's great if you have a basic understanding of accounting and read the book a bit. She isn't hard, but she is proud of her accomplishment, as she should be. She reads the reviews here, so she tries to be better. She is easily one of the most outstanding teachers people from different colleges talk about her and what she uncovered. Great professor

Professor Pope is a very nice and approachable professor, she makes it easy to reach out and resolve any questions or problems that may arise. The class was pretty easy and was a combination of textbook material and public speakers. She was a little disorganized and it was a little hard to figure out what was due when, otherwise an easy class.

Absolutely LOVED her! Very great teacher and mentor definitely would recommend.

She was very good at explaining things with real examples from her life. The midterm is an exam taken in class and you can use notes. Covers all the readings and slideshows so take notes (would recommend merging all slideshows so for midterm can just search for specific words). The final is a group project (~10 page paper and presentation).

prof kelly is a harsh professor, but she is nice. she likes when students participate and gets antsy when shes having conversations w herself. majority of the course we work in groups, and we barely use the textbook. if u participate and are actually paying attention u should have no issues. the ppl in these reviews clearly didnt bother to study.

I really found Dr. Pope to be inspirational. Say what you want, if you care for your grade and put in work she will see you. Hope to take her courses again!
