Great teacher. Easy to follow when instructing and very helpful.
MUST TAKE she helped me allot she covered everything i her lecture not once was i lost or confused and she is very comprehensive. i would take her class again in a heartbeat.
I took the MW night class but dropped. She goes through material really fast as you are writing notes and skips steps assuming you know what you are doing. Classes were rushed and there wasn't enough time to clarify questions. There were quizzes at the end of each class and HW was online but didn't relate to the lecture notes. Good luck students.
i really love her!!!! <33
Online hw for every section covered, 6 chpt tests, 1 final, & 1 quiz @ the end of the class (most of the time u can compare answers w/ppl around u before turning in). Go to every class, pay attn, ask questions and I can guarantee u will be fine. HIGHLY recommend taking her, she's awesome! Don't give up after chpt 2 (hardest), it does it easier.
She's awesome! I would take her again in a heart beat. Her lectures are clear and easy to understand. Ask question and she will explain until you get it. Hw will be submitted online after every section. There's a quiz by the end of every class but it's short and simple, you'll do fine as long as you pay attention.
Miss Ro, is a great teacher. She will come off as strong at first but that's because many students feel they can walk all over her because shes young. My class was the "test" group for the course and things were crazy, but she made sure our opinions mattered! Lots of group work but you will be thankful at the end. Lover her!
She is a great great teacher!! I recommend you take her!!! Just follow the rules, do your homework and study for a bit and you'll be okay.
Absolutely love her. When attending the first couple classes she comes off a little harsh but she immediately begins to warm up to the class. She is the most helpful math professor I've ever had. Genuinely cares about her students and wants them to pass. If you don't do the homework this class isn't passable.
Kelly Ro is by far the best math professor I've had so far! She's super cute and really does love her job. If you have any questions, she makes sure to explain it until you understand the problem. She gives little homework and makes an effort to make the class easy. Her handouts for notes is also very easy to follow and study upon.
Ro can be cool but skip out on doing the homework and you definitely won't pass her tests. Something about her lessons don't make the concepts she teaches all that memorable and easy to learn. Probably wouldn't have gotten as far as I did in her class without Slader. Pretty stingy with extra credit but good prof to take if you're retaking calc
Great Professor! She is very young and sassy so she will tease you every once in a while, don't get butt hurt. She hands out lecture outlines and you fill it out together and she is very clear! If she gives you E.C. you will have to compete for it, only about 3 ppl will receive it. Answers questions. Goes fast so keep up, plenty of time for hw.
When asked questions about a, she won't always be able to explain how she got the answer. Overly harsh grader with tests that ask for a level of understanding beyond that of a student who is taking calculus for the first time. She used to be a high school teacher and it definitely shows in the way she runs her classroom. Never lets class out early
I have taken her class TWICE! I honestly came to the conclusion it was all my fault for not understanding the material. Whenever I asked for an example similar to the homework, she said, "It's just like the homework." It was not, she gave simple examples, but when it came to the homework, it was complex, to the point I couldn't compare problems.
Really cool and fun teacher, don't know why all of the reviews are so negative. sure, calculus is hard material but she is willing to give extra examples and is open for office hours if you need extra help. Ended up with an A in the class even though math isn't my strong suit and will be taking her for calc 2 next semester
great teacher that provides extra credit and is very clear on what material will be tested on for the tests, she tends to take the easier version of problems for the tests
there is a lot of easy extra credit to be had in this class, study the notes and do the homework and you will be in good shape to get a good grade
forced myself to go to class everyday (8AM class) and made sure I studied the lecture notes she hands out or puts online and did all the homework on time, she gives out review sheets for every test that are really helpful
Lectures too fast, and very little. Gives ALOT of HW. "Tough Grader" is an understatement. Uninterested in teaching half the time. DOESN'T CARE if you pass or don't pass. Only take if she's your last option or you're naturally good at math. Look into other campuses. I've had dozens of profs, and Ro is one of only two I REGRET taking. DO NOT TAKE.
Notes are printed out and fill in the blank. She goes through about 2 sections per class (2 hr class). She also hands out reviews for the exams and make sure that you understand what you missed on your exams by making you do test corrections. She gives out extra credit before some exams.
She provides you with all the resources you need to succeed. If you're having trouble with the material, she's more than happy to help you out via text or at her office hours. If you take Ro, you should leave with a solid understanding of integral calculus. I would recommend her to anyone.
Wouldnt recommend her. She is fake and i didnt like her as a person or her teaching style. Hager is way way way better.
You can find a better professor to learn something. If you have to take the class, Good Luck
If she spent less time making fun of students and more time being a good teacher, I might've learned more. I didn't like her teaching style and thought she was unprofessional.
I took Ms. Ro for both Calculus 1 and 2. Shell give u notes for each chapter and lecture on the notes. If u have a good math foundation, ull be fine. If not, dont take her. She always skips steps, that makes us hard to get the stuffs immediately. When somebody asked her, she didnt answer directly. Overall, easy B
I took her Calc 2 class and I think she's a tough grader, but I noticed that on the tests she uses questions similar to the ones in the book. If you have any questions then I advise you to ask! She's a very friendly professor and does sometimes offer extra credit on quizzes. I just wish she would grade quizzes as 20% instead of 10%.
I took Ms. Ro for Calc 2. She is a very tough teacher. She expects her students to understand the subject in class as she is teaching it. Not many people can do that. She doesn't give much homework but you are able to just do more problems from the book to understand it better. Her reviews are usually really useful. I would take her again.
Ms. Ro is an easy professor because her tests are similar to homework problems and reviews - she literally teaches to the test. But if you are planning on taking more math classes and want to actually understand the material I wouldn't recommend her. Her teaching style won't help you learn the material, just pass her tests. I'm struggling in 280
Tough grader, skip steps, if you don't have a solid math foundation then you are bound to be doom if you take her!
I don't know about you, but I really like her teaching style. She is organized and her notes are super helpful. She also gives a lot of extra credit here and there. You definitely need to attend her class to pass. I'm not gonna lie, it's a rough class, but calc isn't going to be easy.
A friendly professor. She was helpful when I needed help.
I failed the course but that is because I did not set a lot of time aside to study. She is a very excellent professor. One of the best I've ever had. I wish I also had a better Calc 1 teacher so I can do better in her class.
She's thorough and fair. You need a good math foundation to succeed in this class. Overall a good professor.
The class goes really fast and there are a lot of things have to be covered in a lecture so it's better to not skip class. Do homework because some problems might appear again on quizzes and exams. She can catch some minor mistakes. However, she is helpful, friendly, and willing to answer your question.
Prof Ro is an okay instructor but I really disliked her immature and attention seeking personality - I would have enjoyed the class more if I felt like I was being taught by a professional.
I took Math 180 and 185 with Ro. I am struggling in 280 since she can only teach for exams. No concepts.
Very intelligent. Actually understands topic and tries her best to help. Very funny and interactive.
Prof Ro is okay but I didn't like her teaching style. I feel like I wasn't taught by a math professional. She allows four absences. If this is your last math class or if you have to take her class for whatever reason, you can still pass but you won't learn much.
The notetaking system is fantastic, utilizing one note and passing out printouts of her lectures ensures that everyone gets high quality notes and, as long as they pay attention in class, they get everything the need. The class grade is very heavily on test scores so it can be unforgiving.
Assistant professor Kelly Ro is okay. But avoid her class if you can. You will regret taking her class later.
She is great. but her class is always waitlisted so hard to get in. :( but if you talk to anyone in person, they will all tell you to take her class.
Lots of homework. Too many quizzes and tests and they are hard. I wasn't surprised her immaturity. After all, she is an assistant professor.
Prof. Ro is not bad. Her quizzes are easy but her exams are very hard. She teaches only a few examples and expects you to do a lot. She also gives lots of homework. If you don't have good math foundation, it is hard to get an A or a B in her class.
If you are planning to take more math classes, I wouldn't recommend her. Her teaching style makes you learn math by heart. You can still pass the class but save your GPA!
I am currently taking her online class, and the professor is amazing regarding meeting my messages and concerns. She literally sends an email back within 30 minutes every time, regardless of day/night. She seems really dedicated to her job. The class itself is very challenging, but the instructor does a great job in helping the students.
I don't like her as a person or her teaching style. When I asked questions, she won't be able to explain how she got the answer. She used to be a high school teacher and she is still immature. I wonder if she writes her own reviews on RMP.
Ms. Ro has a very bright and cheerful personality. She tries her best to make math fun. I'd definitly take her class again.
I had Prof. Ro for Math 180 and 185, and she is such an amazing teacher! I am a math major and wanna be a teacher, so she helped me out a lot in and outside of class. I was really sad she doesn't teach 280. She's one of my favorite teachers..!
Very unprofessional professor.
You can find real professor to learn math. If you have to take her, good luck passing her class.
I am sorry for the students who have to take her class. You won't learn anything in her class. She can teach you to pass her class, no real Concept.
I personally really like her teaching style. She is organized and uses variety of things to teach. I like her note taking style too, because i use my iPad too.
Her class is tough. but you will learn.
Very hands on instructor. I will have to say of all the online classes i've taken she has been the most involved with the class, and helpful towards students.
She's really friendly and approachable. Stop complaining and just go to her office hours! She also wrote me LOR that helped me get my internship..! (:
Prof Ro is a nice person but an awful instructor. She rushes through things, often makes me feel stupid for asking questions. She also has very little patience. If you are great at math, take care. If you are the type that needs extra help and ask a lot of questions, avoid her at all costs!!!
I hated, i mean i HATED calculus class until I took her for the second time. I just wish i didn't make that mistake not taking her the first time. Her notes are great, but she writes a lot in small space so bring extra pages.
She was my favorite online teacher I have ever had. I appreciated how quickly she responded to things and cared about her students.
This class is 100% self-taught. There are four exams and four online quizzes. You have to be disciplined to teach yourself the material, in detail, if you want to succeed with an A. There are no lectures since this is an online class and all of the YouTube videos are from math youtubers. Dedicate at least 5-10 hrs a week before tests and ur good
The class is not that hard so study hard and you'll be good. She gives partial credits so show works even if you don't get the right answer. Tests are 80% based on the review. You can ask her directly if you have any problems. Recommend to take her class again.
The class is definitely challenging but Ms. Ro is really nice and really wants her students to learn.
Ms. Ro has been the BEST professor, mentor, and friend. She has given me so much advice on life, my career path and education. She has inspired me that women can do anything.
DONT TAKE MATH 185 ONLINE!!! I was good at math and aced almost every math class until I took 185 online with prof Ro. You have to teach yourself EVERYTHING. Very few people passed. You arent given enough support or resources. Its a really hard class and I wasted a semester.
Taking Math 185 (Calc 2) online was the biggest mistake I made this year. I'm not the kind of person who can learn by watching a video, esp for SUCH a hard class. The topics are quite difficult and I need way more support than what I can get online. Unless you're a math genius who can teach yourself avoid taking this class online.
I took her class in the summer. Since then, Ms. Ro is one of my favorite professors, and I really like her style of teaching. She's always accessible to students.
I have never imagined one day i will be able to like Math and actually learn Math, not by heart. Ms. Ro has been a good professor with her easily understandable teaching style and note taking. I would recommend to take her class again. Also, she is friendly and approachable. So if you need help, you should go to her office hours.
I asked more than several people at school who I should take for calculus and they all said Ro. So I took her class and I don't regret it! She's really friendly, helpful, and organized. i just wish she teaches calc 3 too..
I took ms Ro for calc 2 because my friend recommended her. BIGGEST MISTAKE. Dont take her online class unless you can teach yourself everything. She uses other peoples videos and offers very little support. She might be good in person but the online class is not set up for you to get a lot of support and help.
Her class was a breeze for me. She is clear about her teaching style and grading exams. Her notes and exam reviews are really important for taking exams. Overall, prof. Ro is a nice and fun class to take.
only thing u get is a textbook that doesnt help and youtube videos made by other ppl. Hw is nothing like exam reviews and exams are much harder with problems you probably havent done before. Ive taken actually helpful math courses online before that used pearsons mymathlab.I wouldnt mind paying once to really learn the material.
Great prof - honestly not sure why so many reviews are negative. She's always there to help students, she even helped me by allowing me to take an exam after hours due to my work schedule. Clac I / Calc II aren't easy, but I imagine it would be much harder with any other prof.
If you suck at math good luck. She calls on people a lot during class and repeatedly would shame the class if no one knew the answer. She also skips over all of things because she believes you should already know it. Also beware of the constant homework assignments. Basically, if math isn't your strongest you're going to struggle.
I didn't do so well in the class because of COVID but I'm taking her class again because I can tell she really cares about her students. If you have any problems or issues, just let her know, she's really accommodating.
I bombed a few tests and she reached out to me with some words of encouragement which I thought was really nice of her. Managed to limp my way to a C. Compared to other math professor's I've had she's a harsh grader but gives great feedback. She also throws alot of trig in her exam problems, (no calculator allowed on tests).
I took Ro spring 2020 Online while pandemic started. Overall she was very helpful. I didnt attend her zoom meetings I just read the book. The quiz and exam questions are homework based so if you take good notes from book and homework youll be able to use during HALF OF THE exam.
Just seems like she doesnt wanna be there. Notes are left incomplete and the passion for teaching is not apparent. Easy class as long as you try.
Professor Ro, for me didn't help with the online calculus. I received more help from Youtube videos than her class. If you fail the exams, you will fail the class. And to add to the weight of the exams, they are not like the quizzes or HW so study up. It was really hard to communicate or find a community in the class. Zero engagement in/out ofclass
professor K. RO is an amazing person, always makes times for questions from students, is available online, office hours or even in the math center for extra help! she's an amazing resource for help with math and just an amazing person. that being said her course is difficult, tuff grader at you fail 1 exam and your screwed the rest of the class.
She's super sweet and her availability outside of class is fantastic! Only thing I did not like was; her exams don't reflect either the HW/Quizzes/Practice Exams. She puts very little problems on her exams so if you miss 2-3 problems ur already down to a C, and you only have 40 minutes to complete. She takes pride in her excruciating exam problems.
She is toxic, her exams are not based on the homework, lectures, or quizzes. She seems to pull the content out of thin air. Exams are also very hard and count for a majority of your grade. Don't expect to finish either half of the exams with time to go over your work.
Prof Ro might be laziest instructor I've ever come across. She does as little work as possible, and provides little to no support. The class wasn't hard, but her teaching (or lack of) is just unacceptable. If you're good at teaching yourself Calculus, by all means take her class.
Short one : Don't even think about it. Long: class material was easy, test are easy too. Except she makes sure that u will have no time to finish unless you write as fast as the Flash. Do not risk it, I did ok because I have more time than others.
Awful instructor. Hardest class ever. Exams are nothing like the reviews and homeworks. No formula sheet and must memorize everything. Calculator isnt allowed and she doesnt give enough time on tests.
She teaches general Calculus concepts. Her homework problems are easy. But when quizzes and exams come she gives us the hardest problems known to man with a short time limit.
Prof Ro might be a sweet person and her classes may be awesome in person. But she is terrible at remote instruction. Every class would end early because it always seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. Quizzes and tests are hard and not like homework with very little time to finish. If you know calc and want to teach yourself go ahead.
Unless you can teach yourself, avoid Prof Ros online Calc 1 class!! You have to teach yourself, she offers almost no resources or help outside class. Homework is easy and you can get through by memorizing but tests are nothing like homework. Tests are so hard and theres not enough time. I have been great at math until this class.
Worst professor ever. She makes no effort to teach the material or help her students. The midterm and final are worth 70% of the grade so any effort you make outside of those two tests is a waste of time. She is clearly just here for a paycheck and to demonstrate that she can make a class as difficult as possible without actually teaching anything.
The worst professor that I have ever studied. The weight of the test is 75%. The tests are more difficult than quizzes and homework. She does not care about the students. Her lectures are very hard to understand. You have to learn by yourself and search on youtube for more materials.
Do not listen to the bad reviews on here. There is not going to be a Calc class that you dont work to get an A in, thats reality. Professor Ro is the most available Professor outside of class Ive ever had! Shell walk you through step by step until you get it. Her lectures are clear, and if you have questions she is patient. I recommend her 100%
Do not listen to the good reviews on here. I have no problem with working hard, but what isn't acceptable is a professor who is checked out and doesn't care... one who does the bare minimum and refuses to help. Laziness and apathy isn't okay if you're going to teach a difficult class like Calculus.
She was one of the best professors I've ever had. Her lecture videos and notes were very helpful and whenever i needed help outside of the class, she was happy to help. I don't get the same type of help from my current university professors.
It's hard taking class online but Prof. Ro does her best to accommodate. She provides notes and lecture videos in case you miss something. All quiz and more than half of her exams are open book, so if you don't do well, it's kind of on you not even knowing where to look it up.
lmao I was laughing reading some of the bad reviews. 100% these people never reached out to her for help. If you do, she will be there for you.
Ms. Ro is an awesome professor. Class is tough but she's nice and helpful. She was very accommodating when I had some issues going on. Her lectures are clear and concise and she makes students feel comfortable to ask for help. I wouldn't have been able to pass the class without her help.
OMGGG I finally passed this class!!! I took it 3 times before (not with Ms. Ro) and I was losing hope..! She gave me opportunities after opportunities to raise my grade and I'm so appreciative. I worked with her weekly outside of class, and she's very helpful. NO MORE MATH FOR MEEEEEEEE!
She is so amazing! You need to focus on her lectures to get an A, don't need textbook. Not too much homework and assignments. However, you need to practice more before exams or quizzes. Make sure to understand the lectures and get familiar the the types of question. Her quizzes and exams most based on the lecture notes and some on homework.
I took her math 180 online. By the end of it, there weren't many of us left. And I don't know why.. Quiz questions are from online HW, and exams questions are mostly from her lecture notes. It was an easy A for me, but I guess online learning is hard for many.
Ms. Ro is great. She is easily reachable, quick to respond, grades everything fast. I've taken an online class where we did our own thing and rarely talked to the teacher. Ms. Ro makes it easy to approach her with any questions.
Professor Ro is a great lecturer. She explains things clearly and her prewritten notes are super helpful. I'm sad she's not teaching calculus 2 next semester.
I liked how organized the course was. Just watch the lecture videos and notes all the test questions come from there. Easy A.
I had Dr. Ro in fall 2019 and I recently reached out to her for a huge favor. She was quick to respond back to me and said she'd happy to help and she did. She was always a caring teacher then and I see that she still is.
Let me just say that I miss her lecture notes and videos now that i'm in math185. She was very patient and good at explaining things until you get it.
I'm thankful for Ms. Ro because she gave me my first job as a tutor and even helped me get SSN. She is kind and influential. I am grateful for what she has done for me as a teacher and a mentor.
I tried to take calc 2 in 4 weeks. Bad idea. I dropped but will take it again with ms ro in spring. Even if through zoom recordings you can tell she's a great professor.
Probably one of the most involved online professors I have ever had. Constant communication throughout the term and quick responses to questions. It made it easier for me to ask for help when I needed.
Professor Ro is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. She is very understanding and thoughtful, and she puts a lot of effort and passion towards teaching.
I have As and Bs previous math classes but i seem to fail this one thank to Kelly Ro. Please, take any other professosr if you have too. She is a nightmare that grade heavy on 3 exams and 1 final. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! Exan are nothing like HW and Quizzes so theres no point in studying.
She shouldn't be teaching to be begin with. If more than half of your students have failed the class then you must be doing something wrong. She tells you to study for this problems and that, but half of them are not even on the test. Yes, calculus II is hard, but you don't need to make it extremely hard for the students. They should let her "go."
Professor Ro is very well prepared for class everyday and is probably the best instructor i have personally ever had. I like her teaching style and how much she cares about her students. I had a great experience taking her Calculus 2 class this semester.
Fair and straight forward. She tells you exactly what's going to be on the exams, and her notes and reviews are more helpful than the homework.
Not gonna lie- I haven't done homework on time once, and professor Ro always let me make it up for full credit. I had a lot going on this semester, and she was very understanding. As long as you are willing to do the work and ask her any questions, she'll help. If you take her online class, she's awesome on pronto.
Kelly Ro is my favorite proffesor. I got A+ in class, and my friends in the same class all got A or B. We had a study group always studying together but she also helped a lot. She is very friendly and helpful.
Honest, she was the best professor. She was always willing to help and make sure you can pass her class. I'm grateful for a great professor like her. I regret not taking her class in person because I would have done better. However, she is very friendly, helpful, and caring. I highly recommend her for Calculus 2.
Asynchronous class punishes those with other priorities. She is unsympathetic towards those with other priorities and told me that it was a bad idea to take her class instead of encouraging me to keep one going. This is by far the worst Professor I have ever had. No partial credit on quizzes but makes each problem multiple points so it kills grade
She is really involved and interactive. Quick responses and quick grading. You can't really ask for more during a short summer class.
I took Ro's summer online calculus 2 class. Almost all exams and quizzes were online and open book. Even when it was not, she gave a formula sheet to use on the exams. It was just alot of work to do it in 6 weeks but very doable if you don't have anyything else going on. I got an A at the end.
5 years after I took her Calc 2 class, I emailed her for LOR because I felt like she's the one who got me interested in this field of chemical engineering. To my surprise because it's been a long time, she quickly agreed and sent the LOR. She is a caring professor and truly wants you to succeed not just in class but in life.
Friendly and approachable. Quick response to emails. Cheat sheet allowed on every exam.
Professor Ro's calc 2 class is pretty straightforward and easy to take online. All lecture notes and videos are posted in advance, so it's nice if you want to get a head start. She provides reviews before exams, which not many math professors do. You also get a formula card for every exam and openbook quizzes.
Took online over the summer. Everything was online, but there's up to two or three assignments due every weekday. Four quizzes, two exams. Quizzes were online and okay. For both exams, there is online portion and zoom portion. Even though it's listed as asynchronous, required to meet for zoom to take each exam. She does mandatory discussion posts.
The professor is attentive to concerns, offers helpful homework, but tough exams. Two exams worth 33% each; failing one affects the grade. Kind yet harsh grader. Disappointed with the six-week class; not as expected from reviews. Be aware it's not an easy class, and exams can lead to failure.
Taking this class in the summer wasn't a walk in the park, but I'm stoked I chose Prof. Ro as my teacher. She's super quick to answer questions, which made a huge difference. Plus, her lecture videos are actually cool and useful. There was a moment I almost threw in the towel, but she pushed me to keep going, and I'm really happy I stuck with it.
Took the 6-week course. 2 exams count for most of your grade, but the open book and cheat sheet are helpful. There are 4 online quizzes, also open book. Homework is due every day, but she allows you to make up any assignments at any time.
My grade was borderline pass/fail in the end, but she reached out and gave me a chance to improve it. This class is alright, it's just a challenging class to take during the summer IMO.
She's chill. Always accepts late homework and gives lots of extra credit. 4 zoom exams with formula sheets.
Asynchronous so she would post the textbook and her online lectures. Everyday HW, but easily doable since pretty much all is taught in the lecture with there usually being between 10-15 questions. Anything on the hw not taught in lecture has a supplement yt video. She also uses Pronto if you need help, she's very responsive. Very test heavy tho.
One of the most considerate professors I have ever had. She gives multiple opportunities to raise your grade throughout the semester. She also provides her own video lectures and notes. Math is not my best subject but she made me feel confident and I was able to pass the class.
Intense Intersession Calc 185. Resources provided: notes, lectures, YouTube, book. High expectations, 2 units daily, free-response exams, no calculators. Emphasis on conceptual understanding. Challenging but rewarding. Consider for regular term, not Intersession. Intersession requires 4 hours of studying per day.
She is very fair I originally got a D in the class she gave me a second chance during winter and got a C. She is always willing to help midterm final and two quiz during winter. She gives exam review and her quizzes similar to homework. She is always willing to help her student in anyway possible wish I could have gotten a higher grade no regrets .
Plan on taking this class during intersession? Take it with someone that's more understanding.
Take this professor in person. You won't regret it.
If you get frustrated with incompetent professors I urge you not the take this class. Does not help with questions and refuses to do her job as a teacher.
Very accommodating and attentive to your concerns. Extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. 3 exams and a final.
Professor Ro is honestly the best teacher that I ever had. She always has positive energy and vibe. She motivated me work hard and because of her I got an A in the class.
Taking calc 2 with her was super fun. She had this personality and the energy that made the class fun. She gave so many opportunities to raise test grade and almost everyone in class (30-35?) got A or B.
She gives you a chance to do some extra work at the end if your grade is borderline. I finally got a B after taking it 3 times!!!!!!
I took Professor Ro's Calc II in person, and she has a wonderful teaching style. Calc II is hard but she made it easy to understand. She also gave us many chances to improve our grades. I had a great time in her class and would definitely take her class again.
Professor Ro's zoom lectures taught well and were very informative. However, sometimes they would not entirely match the coursework given which lead to some confusion at times. The times given to complete quizzes also felt too short at times and there are no calculators allowed on exams, making them more difficult.
This calc 1 summer class has been fantastic! Prof Ro is very supportive and always available to help. The lessons are organized and make learning calculus much easier. 2 exams and 4 quizzes, and all online exams are open book.
Is not supportive. Material doesn't match the exams. She is not flexible and doesn't have people skills.
She's a wonderful professor :), she is very enthusiastic and cares for all her students. She's offers extra credit and hands out useful and easy to follow unit lecture note packets. Would recommend to anyone!
Prof. Ro makes Calc II engaging with her energetic teaching style. She offers plenty of opportunities to improve grades, and unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the provided resources. While challenging, the class is rewarding if you put in the work.
I took Calculus 1 three times with three different professors and she is by far the best professor. Very engaging class, lots of opportunities to raise your grade during the semester.
Professor Ro is a great professor! She is a great teacher for calc 1 and shows that she cares for her students. She requires a lot of in-class participation during lectures so be on your feet and ready to be called on to solve a derivative! Exams are still hard since its calc but she makes the math doable. Study, and ask for help. You can pass calc
Kelly Ro is not horrible, but definitely a lot of work for an asynchronous class. Not worth it if you can't put two hours into this class every night! Also, she can be kind of rude in the beginning, but she was nice at the end.
One of most caring professors I've ever had. She was very accommodating to my needs throughout the semester. I was only able to pass the course because of it, and I'm grateful!
Mrs. Ro is by far one of the best professors I've ever had at SAC. She's very kind and understanding. She makes her schedule very open for communication and feed back. I appreciate her as a person and teacher.
Professor Ro is one of the more passionate teachers I've had and makes understanding math, a subject I've struggled with historically, much easier than others. She is really good at explaining why something is done in a problem.
Great professor, cares for students and makes the hard subject very digestable. Always tries her best.
I did not know this class had mandatory ZOOM exams. Sometimes the online homework doesn't follow the lectures she provides so you have to figure it out by yourself. Exam questions are confusing and it's timed plus quizzes are timed very quickly..
imma keep it a buck fifty, tests are 50% of ur grade and there's 3 of them, do bad on one and it's over for you
Calculus online is not ideal. But her lecture videos and notes are very helpful. Not a lot of online professors provide their own videos, but she does. All quizzes are open book. Some part of the exam is open, some closed. One daily homework, which I find it better than 5 due one day.
just don't.
Calculus is not an easy subject but Professor Ro makes it doable. One thing about her is that she is very accommodating to your needs. Can I turn in HW late with no penalty? Sure! Can I take the exam some other time? Sure! I made a simple mistake, can I redo an exam question for credit? Sure!
had to drop the class because of my workload but she really does truly care for her students! she did everything she could to help me with the class even though i was horrible at it. lots of opportunities to learn from her even if you bomb an exam
One of the best online math classes I've taken. Professor Ro has very organized and approachable teaching style. I found her lecture notes and videos very very helpful when trying to learn. She is quick with communication, grading, and responsive to your needs.
She offered extra work to raise my grade after the final exam!!
Professor Ro genuinely cares about your learning but also you, like your health and your family/work situations. Definitely one of the most understanding professors I've encountered. Don't be afraid to just email her and ask, she is very accommodating. I am personally thankful for her kindness she showed me.
Professor Ro is such a tough grader. When taking a class with her, just be ready to be stared down in the Zoom exams. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE TEST-TAKING ANXIETY!! Every exam is recorded, and she monitors your every move! Also, she tells students the exam is only a few questions, but in reality, each question has around 6-8 parts.
There are a lot of bad online professors out there, but she is one of the good ones. I can't say it was easy taking Calculus 2 during summer, but it was definitely doable with her help throughout the class. She is very approachable, always willing and available to help.
The exams being worth 60 percent of your grade are really annoying after putting in a lot of work getting the homework assignments done. Her quizzes do not give you enough time so you better be fast at solving hard equations. The zoom exams were tough as they are mostly designed on the hardest questions that don't pertain to any of the homework.
I took this class twice and failed at my school. Professor Ro's lecture videos and guided notes are what got me through this class. She also gave me multiple chances to make up assignments and even assessments, which I am very grateful for. She is very approachable and you will enjoy her teaching style.
I took Professor Ro's Calc2 6-week course during summer. It was quick and painful but I got through it. HW everyday helped me keep up with the course, Quizzes are all open book but timed so you still have to know your stuff. It was a lot of work but expected for this accelerated course.
If you study the lecture notes and practice exams, you'll do fine because most test questions are based on them. She even gave out some final exam questions ahead of time. At the end of the term, she reached out to help me raise my borderline grade. Super fast grader and very responsive. Highly recommend!
Very kind and caring professor! I performed very well in Calc 1 but struggled a lot here in Calc 2, especially as I had other commitments; so unless you're ready to commit a lot of time each day during the 6 weeks, this course may not be for you. Prof. Ro gave me several chances to boost my grade to pass (under P/NP), which is much appreciated.
Great Teacher I wish I had her for calc 1
Worst teacher you could ever take.
Zoom exam and the exam is not even close to the materials that she taught.
Exams do not match the assignments. Says exams are only a certain number of questions, but leaves the fact that they have multiple parts. Just don't.
I did not receive opportunities to get a passing grade. I was not offered extra credit. There was no time to do study anything else besides getting carpal tunnel with how many problems you have to do. It would be more helpful if she made us focus on the problems for the exams. She just wants you to fail so you retake her again to waste your money.
Great teaching style. Very helpful notes and videos. Quick response with email questions.
Overall, nice professor and easy class. She puts great effort to grade assignments and exams quickly. Some exams are open book, most exam questions are from her lecture notes and reviews.
I took Professor Ro's Calculus 2 course online. It's an asynchronous online course, but she is very present, and she was very quick about responding to her emails any time of the day. I had a great experience taking her course.
Great Calculus II class. She seems genuinely happy to help. Quick with responses and quick grading.
Very caring and kind professor. I had some personal issues this semester that made me fall behind, and she went above and beyond to help and give me chances to make up homework and exams. I'm so grateful for professors like Ms. Ro.
The only content that matters are the exams that nothing else matters for a grade. Homework doesn't really match you might as well just do the study guides. Very confusing. I would prefer the questions be on canvas than over zoom as it was hard to see them as it is. Make study groups if you can perhaps that will help you pass calculus. good luck!
She really cares about your learning so you can pretty much make up anything. She genuinely wants you to succeed and helps you when you reach out to her.
She'd is highly responsive, compassionate, and structured. Her canvas course provides more than enough learning resources but I particularly found her lecture videos incredibly helpful.
She gives a lot of discussion work, and grades HEAVILY. One thing I didn't like is that her reviews NEVER matched what's on the exam.
Discussion posts were a waste of time. Nobody likes them. Her lectures were just okay. Exams were awful. Not enough time on quizzes to figure anything out.
If she hadn't given me a chance to bring up my grade after the final exam.. I'm so gratefulllllll!!!!! No more math for meeeeee!!!
Math is always a lot of work but she was not it. Gotta study the problems that will be on the exams while you get the large amount of homework problems you have to do done that were not. Amit was not available to take and she was the only option. Outside sources were more helpful than her lectures
It's an easy A if you put in the work. Seriously, she tells you exactly what's going to be on the exams, and they're all based on her lecture notes & reviews. You must treat those notes and videos as your holy grail, skipping them means you're not studying the material that matters. I'd bet over half the class finished with an A.
I highly recommend her class. She really cares about her students, which you can see in how supportive she is. If you ever fall behind, she usually offers makeup opportunities for homework and tests. It really shows that her priority is helping you learn the material, not just grading you strictly.
