Dr. Sexton is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He explains the material very well and his knowledge about the subject is amazing. He gives very thorough tests but they are very fair. I wish he taught other classes at NLC.

dr sexton is amazing. he can make an analogy of anthing and it makes it so much easier to understand A&P. i think he is one of the best teachers at NLC and certainly one of the best i have ever had.

I had this professor in summer for A&P II after taking A&P I with Mr. Wheeler. Boy, talk about night and day--Wheeler was like being in HS and this guy is college. He is an unbelievable fount of knowledge about A&P. Great teacher!!!

Really like this professor. He can answer any question about A&P right off the top of his head. He doesn't use any notes in class--just starts talking and nevr falters. I would recommend him to anyone who is willing to work and wants a great teacher.

I took both BIOL 2401 and 2402 in the same semester and made A's. Being an international student Dr. Sexton has been my favourite instructor of.He's an amazing Professor who really knows his biology. Excellent Teacher!!! He can be abrupt when responding to questions, although I don't believe that it is intentional. My diagnosis: He is experiencing burnout and needs a vacation or an opportunity to pursue other interest. You will learn a lot and will find Dr. Sexton's teaching very beneficial when you enter your program of preference.

Great teacher, I took him for A&P 1 and 2 fast track in one semester. Alot alot of studying if you're serious about learning. If you're there to be lazy don't bother. He knows his material a few times I would ask questions that related to the topic he was on and he had an explanation for it right off the top of his head. study hard, do well.

A&P is a difficult course with a ton of information to learn. I took him during Summer I and enjoyed the class. The amount of information is extremely demanding. Mr. Sexton was always available to help me. He gives out tons of notes, powerpoints, and educational web-sites on e-campus.

Great teacher for the subject! Sexton is very clear and does an excellent job presenting the material. He's pretty impersonal but gets the job done. If you work hard and study a lot- you'll do well. No homework, little text reading needed, he provides awesome lecture notes, and gives you an opportunity to earn test bonus points. TAKE HIM!

Mr.Sexton is a very informative, easy to understand, get to the point teacher. He is not super patient when you ask questions. But he is very clear and makes biology interesting and easy to understand. His tests are all matching/multiple choice so if you go to class, take notes, and study them along with the powerpoints you should easily pass!

Excellent professor! Recommend!!! It is A&P so you have to study and memorize it to do well but Dr. Sexton tells you exactly what to study. In lecture he places emphasis on the major test topics. In lab he gives you checklists to study. No surprises. Very knowledgeable on the subject and he gladly explains and answers questions. Take Dr. Sexton!

a&p needs lots of reading but kelly pick up the major text to study and make your study easy and less. lab is easy. class was fun.have review for the test. easy A if you study a bit more.

I took A&P fast track but it was made alot easier with Dr. Sexton. he gives you the things you need to study I never felt there were any surprises but with A&P if you don't study all the time you won't pass. I did enjoy his class and wish he taught biol 1406&08

Good teacher. Very clear objectives and expectations. Fair grader. Obviously knows and enjoys the subject. Can be a bit standoffish about questions (though to be fair he gets a lot of dumb questions). Tests are MC/Matching for lab and lecture. Extra credit (up to 10 pts) on test. Take home Case Study for each lab test. I recommend him.

Prof. sexton is an awesome teacher. He gives you so much extra help through slides, reviews etc that is posted on ecampus. The material of A&P is hard that is why you'll spend a lot time studying if you want to make an A but its doable!!take him especially for fast track class!!

Dr. Sexton keeps me interested in class. He has TONS of materials online--lots of tutorials and pictures--all his powerpoints are original (not publishers) and he is a great lecturer. He should have been a surgeon -- in fact people ask him why he's not. I loved this class. I tell all my friends to take him.

This guy is awesome! I love his voice! Hard class but you learn a lot I wish I took him for A&P1. He gives great lab reviews and decent lecture reviews. No surprises. Gives bonus quizzes. Kind of stand offish but not in a bad way. Very knowledgeable on subject matter. Slow grader sometimes. Definitely would recommend him. :) Hot in a weird way?

Seriously the BEST A&P professor out there. You can't go wrong taking him. He gives you everything you need to know to study. Exams are M/C, matching and 20% essay which he gives the questions to you to solve ahead of time. TAKE HIM!!!! EASY A He is awesome. Lots of bonus point quizzes worth 40 points.

One of the best professors that I have had.He is very knowlegable about the subject and has a great sense of humor.I wish he also taught other science classes.Keep in mind that A&P requires you to dedicate alot of time studying and you should probably attend class regularly if you want an A.I definitely recommend him! AWESOME professor! He's not easy, but not extremely hard either. Let me tell you though, if you don't study A LOT...you won't pass. Lab book is ESSENTIAL, and going to class everyday is too. Powerpoints are given, but he explains and adds during lecture, glad I didn't miss it, otherwise my tests would have been impossible!!

Great Instructor!!! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he applies his lectures to real world scenarios making learning the material easy and interesting. You still have to put in the hours and study!!! Not a "gimme" grade. Test are tricky and will not ask direct questions but 'round about' questions making you truly think.

Love this guy. Took his class during a 4 week summer term. I can't believe how much I learned in such a short time. He gives great lectures -- in fact this is the first teacher I have had who actually "teaches". No questions unanswered. Love the "team bonus" quizzes. Should be the only guy at NLC teaching A&P.

I took Kelly Sexton for both Biology 2401 and 2402. Best professor I've ever gotten to know. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about this subject. I took 2401/2402 fast track. omg he is the best professor ever! attend every lect & lab bc he will help you & answer any questions you have & gives pop quizzes for bonus points. the lab tests are easy, study the essay questions for lect & use his review & your notes to study. I made an A & B, it isn't an easy class. you have to work hard & study!

Dr. Kelly is the epitome of what a professor should be. He is organized, knowledgeable, a good communicator, and concerned for his students. I took his acclerated classes and I was never bored. I love his team quizzes--he tries to make you think. He's funny and easy to listen to. I wish he taught more classes.

Loved Dr Sexton!!! Took Maymester class and it was hard. Lots of work, but I really learned a lot. 50 ques quizes each morning over prev ch. Can ask him anything and he'll know the answer and explain it to you until you get it. Great guy, hard class. Take him if you want to learn!!

I only wish Dr. Sexton taught more classes. He is probably the most organized teacher ever. He has TONS of material online (he has built lots of tutorials for lab that are not only inforamtive they are fun). I took both 2401 and 2402 from him and I would take them again just to be in his class. He can answer any question and make it clear.

Dr. Sexton taught me in A&P I this past summer and I learned sooo much. He is crystal clear. He uses powerpoints but not in a boring way. We had team quizzes which I loved. He is not an easy teacher but I really wish I could have had A&P II with him. I took it with another professor who was not nearly as good.

Accelerated A&P I & II tips. Show up- you never know when there is going to be a pop quiz for extra credit. You'll need them! Watch Wendy Riggs' videos on youtube BEFORE you go to class. There are more to his tests than just what is covered on the essays. Good grades on lab tests are insurance for your grade. Be prepared to work hard!

Dr. Sexton is one of the best professors I have had. I took his accelerated A&P I and II and was able to make an A in each. I worked hard--you have to but there are no surprises. He is not tricky and wants everyone to get the information. All I can say is "Take him"!!

Great teacher! He allows you to take each exam twice and you can drop your lowest lab grade! Dont miss class because you may miss bonus points from group quizzes. You will need those bonus points! Highly recommend this teacher - he is pretty funny too!

I took Dr. Sexton for both A&P1 & 2. He is a great professor. As longest you understand his lectures you will do ok. He provides great power points that go along with the test pretty well. These are tough classes but Dr. Sexton makes it fun and clear.

The best teacher ever, his power point lecture are very easy to understand, that all you have to study , if you study his power point you will make an A. his lecture test and lab practical are easy . he will let you retake all his test . and will drop your lowest lab practical, you will make an a if you try in his class, Dr sexton is the best.

I took fast track A&P 1 and 2 with Dr. sexton. His lecture's were always been on point with test. Practical tests were easy as long as you study the power points; don't really need the lab book. Bonus points are all ways plus point for these kind of classes. Also, give you an option to retake the test. I really enjoyed attending his lecture.

The class isn't easy, you have to work for your grade. He seemed as a tough teacher but he truly care about helping. He does give pop quizzes but he uses them for extra credit points on lecture tests . Lets you retake all lecture test once and drop one lab test. Memorize power points word to word and pass, not necessarily a A but a decent grade.

I took him for A&P 1 and 2, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Lab check list are exactly what's need to know on practicals. Lecture notes are detailed, and aren't just boring power points. Extra credit quiz are extremely helpful.

Take notes in lecture!! A lot of the things he says are on the test! Give you 2 attempts on Tests and will give you the highest grade. He has lecture notes for each test on Ecampus that is way too much info to study for, I never used those. But, I recommend taking the first attempt and study using that to take the second attempt. Pop quizzes HELPED

Took the fast track class... Dr. Sexton is the best college science professor I've had. He's truly there for his students. It is a difficult class so you do have to put in the effort to get a good grade, but you get two tries for lecture tests. Just pay attention in class and study the powerpoints for tests and you should do great!

Best Professor Ive ever had took him for A&P II in may term was hard but always made sure you understood concepts and always willing to help. Make sure to take notes and attend lecture if you want a good grade.

I loved his class. He is using a team teaching method that I have never encountered before. You take each test and quiz TWICE first by yourself then with your group. You get to discuss each question and come up with a group answer. I learned SO MUCH this way. If I didn't know the answer someone in my group would. All should be this way.

WOW. I just read a POOR rating for Dr. Sexton and it was all because of the CASE STUDIES. In fact, if you plan to be in health care the cases are "what's it all about". I signed on to give Dr. Sexton my highest rating I have ever given any professor in my life. He is the best by far and I have taken classes at several colleges.

i took dr. S for 2401 in the fall. because of my other classes i'm taking 2402 with a different teacher and boy do i wish i could have dr. s back again. he is crystal clear and i loved his team teaching method. i don't think i have ever learned as much in a class as his. he lets you use a free online book and old lab book ed so the class was cheap.

Dr. Sexton is an amazing teacher. I am a high school teacher myself and I wish dearly that I had as a strong a grasp of the subject as he does. He can answer ANY question at ANY time. Dr Sexton is by far the best biology teacher I've had. Take his class guys, he gives 2 chances to take the test and he only takes highest grade,he puts you in groups and that's how you take your quizzes (always listen in class). He's always there to answer your question whether via email or on the hallway. He's the best and I'm taking him for A&PII

Dr. Sexton gives you 2 chances to take lecture exams & takes the highest grade. We also have random lecture GROUP quizzes that consist of 15 questions. If ur quiz grades r low then you can do the case study which will replace 3 of your lowest quiz grades. You will 1st take your lab practical individually & then as a group & he will average them out

Dr Sexton knows very clearly what he is teaching. Very clear concepts. He uses everyday life examples to create very easy pictures in students' minds. Not very strict about deadlines and very understanding if u explain a real reason for late work. I took his class by default because Prof Wheeler's class was full, but I m so glad that i did. Got A.

Dr. Sexton was an amazing teacher. I took A&P 2401 and A&P 2402 in two shortmester during the spring. He's very clear and to the point. You have to work for your grade and study but you can make an A if you try and do all the work. Good Luck!

Prof Sexton is extremely organized and clear--his lectures are actually fun to listen to. He assigns groups which interact a lot and he gives group quizzes and lab tests. I really wish I could take him for 2402 but he's not teaching summer 2.

His flex terms seem really intimidating for A&P 1 and 2 but he makes sure you understand before you move on. Amazing, this professor is simply amazing, I loved every minute of class. Clear expectations are set at the beginning, lectures are engaging, and he will answer literally any question without making you feel dumb. A lot of studying is required, but you learn a lot. Excellent professor. Next to impossible to fail this class. He makes sure you understand EVERTHING. If you have questions ask, he'll never make you feel dumb. You have two tries on lecture exams & for one even a 3rd attempt, of your choice! If you pass the quizzes in lab YOU WILL PASS LAB PRACTICALS!! Case studies were fun, and made you think.

I'm currently taking the fast track of A&P and I am so glad Dr. Sexton is my profesor! I absolutely love his class. He takes the time to teach you everything you need to know and also helps you if you don't. I'm learning so much! I took it the first time at a different college and let me tell you that Dr. Sexton is the best bio professor!

FAST TRACK A&P I & II Work in grps. 1st lab individual, 2nd w/grp, averages the 2 for each test. All lect tests are individual but can take each twice, higher grade prevails. Only 1 extra credit for each part. EXCELLENT teacher! Breaks it down for easy understanding. Lots of memorization in part 1, part 2 is more chem involved. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Sexton is unique. He is about the smartest guy I ever met but he doesn't use it to make you feel dumb. He can answer any question about anything and he does it in such a way that you understand it. He uses LOTS of analogies and they stick. I will never forget "think of chromosomes like pairs of shoes--they are alike but not identical".

So far a really a great professor. He explains things in a way thats easy to understand, he always uses great analogies. If you like working in groups you'll defiantly love this class because he pairs you up into teams of four. The only negative thing i can say is that he takes awhile to post grades but other then that hes an amazing professor.

I thought it would be harder because you have to learn the same amount of material in half as much time but he is a great teacher & he makes the class sooo easy. So easy it's impossible to fail. Multiple extra credit opportunities. Lots of quizzes but they're super easy.

I have gone to a bunch of different colleges including elite universities and I have rarely seen a TEACHER of this quality. I put TEACHER in all caps cause that is what he is. He pushes and pulls and tugs on your brain so that you actually understand -- he uses all sorts of reinforcing methods. He should be TEACHING teachers how to TEACH!

Took this professor in minimester. Great teacher. He really cares about his students. Short time but he knows what he was doing. He gives students review and teach you tricks to remember things. Awesome teacher overall. Highly recommended

Prof Sexton is a wonderful professor. He is caring and he is very good at what he does. He knows A&P and he is able to get it across. I took both parts 1&2 with him and I actually miss his class. However, tests are very hard and no extra credit is given...I took this class reading the reviews however it has been very different for me. I have been doing fine so far, but this class requires 3 hours of studying everyday to make an A.

You really do have to know everything for tests tho, but he lets you take each twice. Tests are 80 MC (80%), 2 Free Response (20%). Notes NECESSARY to pass class. Overall enjoyable and fun

AP is difficult no matter the school. Dr. Sexton is very good at teaching because of his real life examples and lectures (never boring). Despite tests are tough but if you pay attention& study hard, you will receive the grade, plus I strongly believe his class will aid with Hesi/TEAS exams.

I took his class in both Anatomy 2401 and 2402. . I love the way Dr. Sexton teaches. His lectures have a lot of information but the way he teaches it , it really helps. He's so inspirational and he makes the lectures interesting due to his real-life examples. do the questions at the end of the syllabus before taking test. he gives extra credit

Professor Sexton is a true Gem. He was has been my Favorite professor thus far. He sets you up for success. He does gives a lot of quizzes, I thought they would be a lot but it was just what we needed. There not long, 15 questions per quiz, 3 lecture exams, and 3 lab exams. we also get review sheets. I would recommend him to anyone.

I took BIOL2401 during summer 1, and professor Sexton is amazing. He helped you as much as he can to make sure you understand the material. I did not have to spend much time outside class because he made us repeating and talking until we all understand. There were lots of lab quizzes, but those quizzes give us an idea about the lab exams.

Sexton can teach. His class is hard but he teaches so well. I took him for summer 1 and so our tests were online and we got two attempts on each one. His powerpoints are long and every minute of the class I was writing trying to take notes. For lab, you're put in groups and you have group quizzes, which at first seemed bad but turned out to be good

Professor Sexton is by far the best professor that I ever had! He encourages you to understand what you learn, to repeat (because repetition is your best friend- this is always what he says), and infects you with passion about the subject. He may seem a little intimidating, but he truly is a great professor and cares about his students!

No matter what teacher, Anatomy is a tough subject because there are endless things to learn. This class was hard but very rewarding and I learned so much throughout just 8 weeks. Professor Sexton is probably the best professor I have ever had. His lectures and powerpoints are long, but he gives you everything you need to be successful. Study and you're guaranteed an A/B. His class was interesting, fun and engaging. He gave group quizzes each lab and many lectures to keep us from falling behind. He also let us re-take exams.

Professor Sexton, space he is absolutely a gem! Northlake is really lucky to have him. He make sure that you understand the material, he doesnt make you feel stupid if you ask 21 times he will make sure that you fully understand the material. Lots of memorization, lab book is great but his PowerPoint are everything. Study the PowerPoints!

He made this class very fun and informative at the same time! I really like the way he compared topics that we needed to cover in class into real life scenarios because it helped me memorize conceptsI would definitely recommend this professor to anyone!! He is awesome. If you study your notes from class, then you will do a high grade in his tests.

I took Dr. Sexton for BIOL-2401 and BIOL-2402, he is hands down the best professor I have ever had. This is not an easy course but it is an important course. He truly cares about his students and he wants you to succeed. His lectures are interesting and he breaks the material down so it's easier to understand. Take his class, you won't regret it.

Best professor Ive ever had. Gave great examples. There is a lot of work to be done but he lets you use powerpoints as a guide. Took him for A&P 1 and 2 made an A & B.

Fall 2020 8 week semester 1. Sexton is an excellent lecturer. Questions on the exams/quizzes were as expected. There were multiple quizzes for both lecture & lab. There were 3 lecture exams and 3 lab exams with 2 attempts each. All open book but timed. One case study where you answer questions based on what you read. Highly recommend!

You will pass this class if you do the work. This is not the type of course that you would want to cram all your work in the last couple of weeks. Its a course with a lot of information. if you at lease do one assignment a day you will be good to go.

Great! Would take again. Easy A, the only reason i didn't get one is because i didnt realize i had signed up for it to be fast tracked course ( 8 weeks course, fall 2020). If i knew, i would of gotten an A easily because i did minimal work and finish a whole semester's worth of work in 3 weeks instead of 8 weeks, and still managed to get a good B!

took dr. sexton for both 2401 and 2402 online. he was a very intelligent teacher who i can see has a passion for teaching this subject and also wants his students to succeed. Got an A for both classes, but took a lot of effort. Wish i was able to take him in person.

Fall 2020 8 week semester 2. Sexton provides great lecture videos & PowerPoints so the textbook wasn't necessary. There were 21 quizzes (drop lowest 2), 1 case study, 3 lab tests, & 3 lecture tests. There were 2 attempts on each quiz & test & only the highest score would count. Optional +10 points extra credit towards the lowest lecture test.

Professor Kelly is an amazing professor, he is very responsive to emails. I took him for AP 2401, be sure to go over the power points they are very helpful for the test. Not an easy A but if you work hard enough you will get an A. Took this class during summer.

Professor Sexton is a great professor for Anatomy and Physiology class. He is one caring lecturer for his students. He has his class organized really well - and he gives you a lot of time to finish tasks. His class has 20+ quizzes, 3 lecture test, 3 lab test and 1 case study. If you watch his lectures and work on the worksheets provide u r good!

The course ITSELF is hard, he is not a bad teacher. The negative reviews surprises me because I have taken this course twice already and he is the best one to have teach me. Anatomy is a hard subject, Professor Sexton does the best he can and I think he is an amazing professor, his lectures are comfortable to understand.

BIOL2402 is a hard subject so at least have a good professor to teach you, in this case, take professor Sexton, very nice professor to help teach a hard subject

Expect long lecture videos but explains everything with great amount of detail for you to really understand the material, lecture and lab exams can be taken twice. extra credit is available at the end. GREAT PROFESSOR PLEASE TAKE HIM ONLINE! I took him ap1 and ap2 BOTH A's a lot of studying but passing is possible!

Sexton is a really incredible professor. Relevant material, not outdated like most classes. Caring and responsive. Provides feedback. Gives extra credit. Need more profs like him! No lockdown browser to ruin your computer.

Professor was really caring for everyone, even risking going as far as extending due dates at the end of the semester even though most students would already be done at that point. The course wasn't so hard since all of the answers is in the 10-page slideshows provided to you. Definitely enroll in this course if you don't like getting rushed.

Dr.Kelly Sexton is the best professor I have ever had. I've shamefully taken AP several times & this is the 1st time I learned it clearly. He always makes sure you know the concepts before moving forward. Uses repetition as a study tool. I am taking him again for AP2. I recommend him if you have trouble in AP. He actually cares that you're u/s it.

Do the reading and take notes from the powerpoints. His online lectures are super helpful. He gives a lot of quizzes, but they do help! You'll be ok if you put in the work.

Dr. Sexton is a celebrity from the BIOL department. You will read many positive reviews about him and he has earned his reputation. My ONLY criticism is that A&P lab is incredibly difficult in an online format. This isn't his fault, but his lab exams are very difficult if you haven't been reviewing the anatomical models w/ him in an in-person lab.

He is awesome professor! PLs take his class, but you will need to prepare for lots of powerpoint reading! but they are based on test, quiz, exam. PLEASE TAKE HIM!

I am a former student writing this review, I took this class as a nursing school pre-req. As I have now graduated nursing school and am studying for the NCLEX, I'm realizing the main reason I understand concepts now is because this Prof made everything click. I remember his examples and retained a lot! Fortunate to have taken his class.
