She was one of the nicest prof's i've had. Answered emails quickly and promptly always helped in class. Attendance was very important tot he point where she dud dislike students who didn't show up. Exams we're hard, but her notes were excellent no textbook needed.
She really cute, and she is super nice. Her teaching method is entertaining and she's very helpful. She's also understanding and uses power point very heavy. Don't waste money on a textbook and go to class its mandatory with her.
She makes class entertaining. She helps students understand material. She is young and energetic which makes the lectures very fun to be in. Downside she reads from the slide shows which can get boring at times, but as aforementioned she makes classes interesting. Also hot so that makes class better as well
Had this as a night class and attendance slowly dwindled not due to her teaching but due to the content. This class is dry, but she is a wonderful teacher!
Only reads the slides. Not much help either.
lectures well, tries to keep class involved, shes more modernized, relates to personal experiences....shes all good, dont hate !
Really kind, helpful
She's a really cool professor, just had her for msys, She makes jokes and likes you better if you attend class. Textbook isn't needed and class is just her reading off slides. I did very well by just studying right before the exams. Easy GPA booster i recommend her class.
Loved her!
Excellent! She's pretty, and has a good sense of humour. Makes class fly by, also she marks fair and does a good job to tell you what to study. She also goes over the midterms very thoroughly. I recommend her, its hard to find good prof's these days!
One of the best profs i've had in a long time! Recommend taking her for every class! Super helpful, and always explains what to study!
She has excellent lectures, very interesting and a great personality. She tells you exactly whats on your midterm and has a great personality and makes class fun.
Excellent teacher! She encourages discussion and made me feel completely comfortable being involvedin discussion in class. AWESOME TEACHER
Good looking, and smart, she's quite the prof. Always willing to try to help, but sometimes she gets a little confused about the topic. Finance is not her strong suit, but to be honest it was a pretty fun class, especially compared to some of the other profs who teach the same course. At least she's nice, funny and polite. Plus, easy assignments!
Good prof. Her slides are just from the textbook so the only reason you need to attend is for the participation marks. Busn 201 Food Bank Assignment was a joke. Overall decent prof.
Attend class to get participation marks
Awesome prof, very nice and informative. Makes class fun.
Do not buy the textbook for any of her classes. Totally useless. She gives you a study guide with all the answers so just go to class get the participation marks and you will get an A
Easy class, attendance is mandatory
Exams were easy, project was easy, GPA booster! She does tend to read off the power points all class, but she is very clear on what to study! As long as you attend class, you will do very well! Don't waste your money on a textbook, concentrate on her posted reviews. Brilliant professor!
Go to every class attendance is mandatory. Her exam reviews are basically her actual exams. She's a great professor. Easy GPA booster if you attend class!
FANTASTIC PROF. Probably the best I've had in my entire university experience. Highly recommend.
I missed one class out of all the classes. I find that if you're uncomfortable or you didn't understand the material, she would stay after to help. She gives a lot of environmental examples but the more you participate, the better you do.
Generally good prof, easy final
Keltie was a great prof. Nothing to fantastic, but better than average for sure. Fun course with fairly straightforward exams and assignments. She'd get a chilli pepper from me only if she wore her hair down every once in a while :P
Keltie is a great prof - assignments are straight forward, lectures cover everything you need to know for the tests, and she grades very fairly. Plus, she is approachable, funny, and encourages class discussion. Show up, follow the marking rubrics, read the lecture notes, and you will do fine. Just be prepared - a LOT of material in this course.
Keltie was a cool instructor who was easy to talk to and always willing to answer questions and help out with the group projects any way she could. There was a lot of material to cover, but the tests and assignments were very straightforward. Make sure to attend classes and actively participate.
Kelti was one of the most genuinely helpful profs I have ever had, and as long as you show up to class and ask questions when you're stuck, there's no reason to not pass with a good grade. Concepts and expectations in assignments are laid out very clear.
She was my seminar prof and she's fun, easy going, helps a lot, gives good feedback. I skipped lots of seminar though because i thought it was kinda eh. She seems like a good prof for a lecture so take her!
The course is easy but this prof makes it so much more confusing!!!
Keltie understands her students, but unfortunately she can only do so much with BUSN 201 being inflexible. Her seminars are very fun and very energetic. Her personality is contagious, yet you know to respect her. Take Keltie for all your classes and you'll breeze through the semester. Except BUSN201, you'd have to hope for the best.
45% of our grade was group or partner projects, which were lengthy. Not a lot to learn, some memorization and a few concepts, if you put the effort in you'll be fine. If you show up to every class you get an easy 10% for participation.
She makes so many mistakes because she doesn't try not to. If you are her favorit, she would not tell you anything even if you make so much noise in class. and is bad with numbers so watch out because you might have gotten lower marks . I don't think she has sufficent knowledge or doesn't know how to deliver. It was a waste of money and time.
She was awesome, tests were not that hard. Just read the instructions and you'll get an easy A. She was helpful when I asked her for questions, showed videos that are interesting and gave extra credit when she saw that the class did poorly on an exam. I would definitely recommend.
Keltie was great but the class sucked. It had too many small assignments which was annoying. She marks decently hard. Make sure yo ud all the work or yull be left sorry missing those little marks which will make a big difference
She is not helpful AT ALL, especially when discussing the criteria for the business proposal. the class itself wasn't that interesting but she killed it altogether. Uploaded things on to BB at ungodly hours thats students wouldn't check until the next day when assignments are due. TA was not needed. Useless prof in general
Liked her as a person, but this class was awful. A lot to expect of students, might as well be credit for two classes considering how much time the project takes.
Hard marker, lots of information. She cool though
Very unclear of her expectations. She gives no format for any of the assignments, and when she does its the wrong one, so your grade is affected. NEVER responds to her emails. Overall, does not understand students at all, and tries to make an easy course difficult. MacEwan really has to think again about letting her continue teaching.
Some people just don't understand she has very little to work with. The class itself is very awfully set up by the creator. She does an awesome job with what very little she is given. She follows what is given to her even though it is poorly set up. I do feel bad she gets bad reviews even though she does awesome with a terribly organized course.
Keltie is overall an alright teacher She is a VERY tough grader and her multiple choice questions on exams were very challenging. She basically reads off of the power points for lectures and will expand from it. Her lectures are really boring and its hard to stay focused. The group project in Mark301 is terrible and she expects ALOT from it.
Keltie is a hilarious professor, and deserves a medal for comedy. However she is a very hard marker, and in some situations a fair marker as she does give you the opportunity to better your grade if everyone did really bad. Overall I would take her again as she made the class that much more enjoyable and worth the effort!
There is a lot of content in Marketing but Keltie makes is easy to learn through her notes. Her exams are really easy as they are based off of her reviews. Would highly recommend taking her for Marketing.
She is a great prof and is very understanding! I would highly recommend her!
Attendance is mandatory because part of your grade is attendance and participation. But all she does is read you the power points as you take notes. and all the slides are posted online so it would be very easy to just not go. Poster assignments are rather easy. No midterm
Keltie is a very nice lady, and she is fair. Her classes are rather boring though, all she does is read the powerpoints so you could easily do that yourself. But part of your mark is participation so you are required to attend class. 3 Group assignments, so if you don't like group work this class might not be for you.
Keltie is an absolutely amazing prof who cares about her students. Her strict deadlines may seem intimidating but the assignments are so short and straightforward that it's no big deal. Easy to contact her outside of class, and more than willing to help. Makes the group project seem simple, not nearly as bad as I expected. Great seminar prof!
Keltie is clear at the beginning that there will be a lot of minutiae grading and that every little bit helps. Class is brief but informative. The majority of work is on the group project and it is time consuming. She keeps it interesting with real examples.
Skip Class? You won't pass. Hilarious. Never gives extra credit, don't expect it. Tests are tough. Be aware, be so, so aware of group projects. Just say goodbye to your social life now.
Keltie was great for my busn201 seminar. She was super clear with everything and brought a good energy to her class. I would definitely take her again.
She wasn't horrible, but she wasn't great. Keltie took long periods of time to respond to emails so she wasn't very helpful in this sense. Make sure you pick a good group for mission possible!!!
Had Keltie in class for BUSN 201 and this class was just as good. Online course content covered the basics, lots of the exam was based off textbook material. Online group project caused lots of people to drop. Could have been better in terms of posting marks and communication like replying to emails. Overall great choice if you have the motivation
There was so much content in this class and Keltie gave no notes or guidance whatsoever. We were basically required to memorize the entire textbook. The module "notes" on BB were just very basic summaries of the chapters... they gave us no indication of what we had to know or what we were to be tested on. Group project was stupid and worth 25% :S
She was considerate, given it was a summer course. Though, she's slow in replying to the e-mails. Her exams are tough but she's an easy marker otherwise. Make sure to pick a nice cooperative group for the Mission Possible as things go south very easily with such a heavy assignment of 45%
Don't take this class online. 20 chapters, TONS of terms/concepts, notes on BB very vague compared to the textbook - I had no idea what to study for the final. No guidance at all! Final was 55 MC (not hard), 4 short-answer that were mandatory, and then I had to answer 4/9 short-answer Qs and 3/9 long-answer Qs. Get ready to memorize the whole book.
Keltie is a good prof. She makes lecture discussions interesting. She explains well and you can really learn a lot from what she's saying. Her exams are not easy! Exam questions are more on application not definition. When it comes to marking the exams or homework, Keltie is considerate she'll give you a mark if she sees you put an effort doing it
This entire class was half a huge group project that lasted the whole semester, and half lectures where they didn't teach super clear information and then expected you to read the whole textbook. Keltie was in charge of the group project aspect and she did an amazing job explaining things, being helpful, and making sure everything was going good!
Easy marker. Good person. Sometimes funny. informative. good teacher. pretty good overall i would have her as a prof again but she teaches business 201, possibly the most dry course in the history of university.
Keltie always tried incorporating her own experiences into the lecture and it really helped to understand a few concepts. The only downside for this class, especially if you're taking it during the evening, is that you need to be really careful when choosing your group for the project since its worth a lot more than the final exam.
I do not recommend taking Keltie for Mark 312. She does not have experience teaching the course and lacks knowledge with the SPSS portion of the course, so she is unable to answer questions. Keltie seems to have a predetermined amount of each grade she will be assigning to students, which is even more frustrating. Do not recommend this instructor.
Keltie had never taught this course before and it showed. SPSS portion seems straightforward until you get your mark back for the lab final! That being said, her PowerPoints are clear and outline all major concepts well, and she is helpful in terms of taking time to give personal feedback. Marks are 50% group work and 50% individual work
Keltie manages to make the lecture material interesting, and provides solid and relevant examples to simplify complex material. She is passionate about the information she teaches, and she uses simple examples to help explain the material, which also keeps the lectures more interesting and light.
Most useless teacher I have encountered at MacEwan so far. The group lecture part is what I recommend attending (which is not by her). Her class is useless, use the textbook and you will be fine. don't bother attending class it wont affect anything.
Great prof, lectures are based on the exams. Come to class pay attention, take notes, and a good mark is easily attainable. Also Keltie is very easy on the eyes ;)
Really long classes Very dry lecture As long as you do your homework and memorize the slides you will be fine
She was a great prof, she made the Lectures bearable, any day she wasn't teaching was dreadful.
Keltie is pretty good and provides a lot of feedback an information for the business project you will have to do. You don't need to attend class since there isn't too much actual work done, but she gives lots of good in-class feedback and help I found very useful.
The group project is terrible. Her slides are boring. Exams are brutally long with a mix of MC and written (only plus is that you choose which to answer).
I suggest taking another prof for this class. The PowerPoint slides are super vague and the lectures are very boring. There are 20 chapters covered in the course and a lot of terms and steps to memorize for the midterms.
I think overall she's a fine prof (my favourite of the 3 busn 201 profs) but for the love of god don't take marketing with her. The class has too much material that doesn't integrate well with her expectations/style. Make sure you attend class.
Keltie was great, she was hilarious and kept the class interesting. She was also a fairly easy/fair marker. She does mark on attendance and participation so speak up and be sure to attend. Be aware of Mission Possible - group project, 50% of your grade, super time consuming. Choose your group well.
Keltie was a little extra for my liking. She was a little over the top, and I saw right through the act. Keltie tried her very best to make business 201 an exciting class, the reality is, this class was a snoozer. If you wanna know wanna remember what it feels like to be in a jr high class, take busn201 with Keltie!!!!
Exams were based on the class notes and seminars were graded. She was very fast at responding to emails and is clear about what is expected of us. Very professional and nice person. Clear explanations were given for the powerpoints in class. Anticipating an A based on grades received.
Keltie showed up to the first 2 or 3 classes of BUSN 201 lecture. After that, I don't recall ever seeing her there again -- the assistants gave all the lectures after this. When approached outside of class she was reluctant to give help as she said "you should find this online by yourself." Course wise it is very time consuming for an intro class
She talks about herself a lot and goes off track. Her classes were boring and takes too long to mark assignments. Business 201 is mandatory but I found it useless.
BUSN 201, as a whole, is a very demanding course (you will know what I mean if you take it). Keltie is a little intimidating and will make sure you pay if you slack. BUSN 201 has assignments almost every week so make sure you complete all of these to your best ability because it ALL ADDS UP IN THE END. Study all info on slides and record lectures!
Worst prof and worst class ever. Never responded my emails. Not approachable. Didn't care if students success in this class. Time consuming projects and not practical.
She doesn't care her students, if you had a mistake, she always talk abt it all the time. Usually took 3-4 days to answer email, and also her marking is really weird, 1 mistake and you lost 50% of your mark.
During my experience with BUSN 201 in the Summer semester of 2020, Gower did the following: took too long to answer time-sensitive emails(giving me about 2-5 day response time) didn't respond to most emails offered weekly 1h group check in call the course was hard to follow blackboard was poorly organized glitches in the system took too long & more
Her rubrics are very vague, she tells us what we should have AFTER she has marked the assignments. Not sure if its just the course, but the textbook reading is everywhere and not in order. Just please switch out of her class
Her delivery of the course is terrible. Everything we learn is not used throughout the semester, but only on a final and a midterm. Nothing can be handed in late, not even 5 minutes late or youll get a zero. It may be the course but I was not satisfied with Keltie whatsoever. She is more focused on her school than her actual job. Dont take her
She only responded to some of my emails, otherwise she would simply not respond even though my emails were very simple. She says you dont need the textbook for the class but many questions on the midterm and final had textbook questions. She has online lectures that could easily be summarized by a tldr. Overall, awful class, dont take if possible
shes terrible dont take her her exams have textbook stuff even though the textbook isnt required she doesnt care about her students her rants make no sense and she explains the assignment after we already finished it!
She told us that we didn't need the textbook. So, I take the final exam and what do do you know... WE DID NEED IT. There were quite a few questions that appeared that she did not cover in her lectures, nor was it covered in the modules on blackboard. She also doesn't give second chances for honest mistakes and misunderstandings.
Keltie did not provide us with all the information that was on the tests. she said we didnt need the textbook, yet alot of the material on tests was in the textbook. she cut corners for the lecture notes so we were not provided enough information for the final.
There were many assignments for this class, but every assignment had purpose and only made you learn and understand the course material better. There is a big group project that's worth a lot of marks, so choose a good group and make sure to ask a lot of questions of what is expected so marks are not lost.
You need the textbook for this class regardless of what she says, the midterm and final have questions from it that she doesn't cover in class. The group project also takes up a ton of time so choose your group wisely. Overall, this class really isn't that challenging as long as you take notes.
imagine a stand-up comedian failing heavily in their act, this is what it feels like to be in her class. This class is boring I see it but she does not help. She seems to have a great mark before covid but once it hit, the online factor made this teach pretty bad tbh.
Her exams are impossible, she gives a bunch of questions + bonus questions with a limited amount of time. Does not take the student's time into consideration, and place the exam at inconvenient hours. Most of the final exam topics were not included on BB and the notes are basically useless. Never taking her classes again.
Her instructions on assignments are different that whats written in blackboard making in unclear of what she really wants done. Takes a few days to respond to emails and sometimes doesnt answer everything you asked. Comments left on assignments are super broad and unclear. Doesnt give enough time on exams and they are at weird times.
She's not caring at all, took 3 days to respond to my email that I had to send twice for me to get a one-sentence reply. Doesn't care about your situation. Doesn't excel in building a helpful connection with her student. Told me she wouldn't let me finish uncompleted discussions even though I couldn't complete them due to health issues.
Her class was awful
Does not care about her students, gives exams at the worst times and doesn't give enough times for the exams. The final exam was 47 MC, 2 short answers and she gave a bonus question, only had 1 hour and 15 minutes for it.
Keltie's online class was disorganized in my opinion. I find that too much focus is placed on the group project and not the actual understanding of concepts and testing material used for exams. Her exams are also quite textbook heavy. Not the worst professor, but definitely not the best I've had either.
This was the most unorganized class I have ever been in. She doesn't care about students at all and not only takes a long time to answer emails but doesn't ever clearly answer your question in your email. Tests were way too long for the time given and she gives little to no info about what is going to be on the test. Group project is also a pain.
Avoid Keltie at all costs. Her class structure is disorganized and unhelpful. Her exams are based solely on the textbook, disregard anything she posts on blackboard. For assignments, she doesn't give much direction, and then she gives you a poor grade and tells you everything you did wrong when we didn't know we had to do it in the first place.
There's a large emphasis on a group project that's worth 20% of your entire grade. She did a poor job marking it (a lot of her comments were answered in the submission) and we barely passed it. She tried making an open book midterm closed book last minute. Finally, the final exam has 48 questions, 2 written response, and a bonus within 75 minutes.
Super vague. Memorize the brick of a textbook for tests. Takes forever to respond to emails.
Keltie provides little to no instruction regarding her expectations for this class, there is a big group project which she marks harshly, and she isnt clear on the expectations - she doesnt do recorded lectures, she doesnt give out notes or a powerpoint so you literally have to teach it all to yourself, you have to read the textbook, beware
Don't waste your time :)
RUN and do not look back. Overall she's a really nice person but she's not fit to be a professor. She gives way too little time for the length and difficulty of her tests and doesn't prepare her students in the slightest. I could write an essay on this but PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS if you care about your GPA and actually want to learn.
Keltie was probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had she doesn't explain what she wants from the 2 final projects well at all. Talks about non-sense during her online videos, and emails so late. Gives exams at the worst times and such little time to write them. Trust me do not take her. BUSN 201 is a easy course but she makes it very hard.
stay away!! shes brutal
DO NOT take Keltie. She is a very tough grader, yet doesnt explain how she wants you to do things. There is no teaching from her part, so expect yourself to be the teacher. This class has been the one Ive spent the most time yet its the lowest grade Ive received. It has basically tanked my almost perfect GPA :(
The worst course I have ever taken. She poorly explains the group projects and purposely makes the assignments difficult and does not explain the course at all. She just tells you to read the textbook and makes you write these meaningless discussion posts that have no value to them what so ever. Make sure you have a good group for this class.
Super unclear and unorganized. No way of knowing which direction the class was taking, poorly put together. Dont take
I've never had a professor as horrible as Keltie. Due dates were posted on the outline, and she would randomly mention a change in a video and then give you a 0 if you didn't hand it in on the right date. She did the bare minimum, was very hard to reach and offered no help/feedback. Assignments + BB lessons are vague. RUN! DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!
Zero effort put into teaching. Never once bothered to explain the content beyond "refer back to the textbook". Also, she assigned the textbook reading from the WRONG TEXTBOOK! not the required text. when brought to her attention she said "there was nothing she could do" as she did not have the textbook that her students had. Avoid at all costs.
Going to Keltie's lectures regarding the material can be quite boring but they are helpful when it comes to the business proposal. Keltie tends to be unorganized and had wrong dates on outline that had to be pointed out by students. I would never take this class online because of all the group work. The textbook is unnecessary for her class.
Absolute train wreck of a prof. Dropped the class after the second day, because it was so disorganized. My friends who stayed in her course all ranted about how her exams were about nothing she went over, her videos made no sense, terrible prof. Avoid.
Avoid at all costs. This was hands down the worst course I have taken in my two years at MacEwan. Keltie is completely disorganized and provides her students with no help. The tests are unfair and have far too many questions for the time given. She is rude in her emails, which she sadly doesn't seem to open much. Take anyone else, seriously.
For the price of one, you get 2 courses with this prof. She teaches sustainability in class on power points and group projects. The exams are pure business so you need to the textbook to pass. Extremely hard marker. unethical as well if you see her bonus question. I would not recommend this bit to even my worst enemy
You'd think during a pandemic, professors would try to be more understanding and patient. Nope. Not her. Sets you up for failure by giving you a one-hour time limit for a midterm, and is condescending and rude in her response emails. I wish I saw the reviews sooner, as I'm pretty sure my GPA is going down the drain due to her high horse.
This professor has an us (students) vs them (teachers) mindset, what she teaches in class is mainly not what she tests us on. She does not offer extra marks as she views her teaching strategies as perfect. Her tests have a very limited time limit. Questions worth the most marks only show up at the end of the test after doing other questions first.
Do not recommend! She gives no tests or quizzes to prepare you for the midterm and most everyone fails them because no one knows what to expect. She’s a very nice person but she’s an extremely hard market and does not set up students to succeed.
RUN. Took asynch, had an amazing group, but that didnt help. This is 2 courses, one where you individually read textbooks cause her BB content doesnt help, and one where you do a group project for 55% of your grade. No feedback, so when you suddenly get a bad grade you had no indication it was coming. Tests come from text, ignore the lectures. RUN.
If you hate group projects, DO NOT TAKE. 50% of the work is based off a group project and she is horrible at providing any resources for exams. She took over another professors online class and contradicted a lot of the assignments so the handouts and her videos never matched. I would NOT recommend if you want clear instructions & fair feedback.
Avoid if you can!! Keltie does not have any sympathy for her students. She is horrible at replying to emails and never gives clear instructions on assignments as she always gets off topic on her weekly video post. This class is not worth the effort and money. Most disorganized class I have ever been in. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Fairly slow to respond to emails, especially annoying since this was online however emails came back being very helpful and she was very clear in presenting and teaching the material.
Hats off to Professor Gower for swindling the university out of a paycheck while doing absolutely nothing all semester! Pretty impressive!
If you want actual teaching, clear instructions and relevant feedback, avoid Keltie. If you like doing group work for half your life and enjoy memorizing the textbook, she may work well for you.
Absolutely horrendous. She takes no pride in her work and it shows by how unorganized and uncooperative she is. Prepare to be on your own and make sure to reach out to others that have finished the course. The final exam was 46 questions and we were provided only 75 minutes. It's unfortunate because the group project was actually pretty fun.
Imagine having an exam with 42 questions and 2 short answers due in 75 minutes. She doesn't communicate with any students and doesn't reply to emails when you wanna ask a simple question.
Keltie does not provide useful exam material. Her BB notes are essentially useless as the exams had nothing to do with them. Keltie takes forever to respond to emails and when she does she's rude and condescending. The group project was supposed to be a fun assignment however, Keltie marked it extremely hard and the feedback did not make any sense.
hard prof, not fun to take
Graded us on 1 large project and a midterm + final. She hadn't given us a quiz before our midterm so no one knew how her tests were, was very rude in all her emails and didn't really help.
Keltie seemed like an awesome prof until after the first week, she was a bit rude in her emails and responses to questions in class. Her exams were ridiculous for the number of questions she gave in the amount of time we were allowed. Many students ran out of time on both the midterm and final. Goes off topic a lot, wouldn't recommend her.
Seems to be a straight forwards class until the one midterm and final, that barely relate to the course and lecture material at all. Scarcely replies to emails, and when she does it is usually vague and unhelpful. Lectures are boring and 90% of the course is based on a group project. If you can avoid taking her class I would
Keltie was a very disorganized professor who deliberately made assignments and exams difficult yet provided minimal instructions and feedback. Marks harshly and picks at the minor mistakes. She seems to be incapable of responding to emails time-appropriately and is rude and short when she does respond. Avoid her class if you can.
Keltie was a fun prof, but what makes this class tricky is the group work. Everyone says "find a good group" but it's more important YOU are a good group member to your team, as you will depend on each other in the big group project. Show up, read the text, participate and get an easy A. Keltie is chill, knows the course well and is wiling to help.
She's a great prof! Very nice and tests are easy. I luckily got a great group with group members who went beyond with their work, so try your best to choose carefully. We were told to buy a textbook, but I barely read it and still got an A because her notes were good.
AVOID! Honestly the worst prof i've ever had. Her exams are not related to anything she teaches and are extremely difficult. You could study for hours and still fail the exams. Her lectures are boring and are not helpful at all. I would suggest joining any other class with any other prof.
Very disorganized, does not reply to emails, exams do no make sense and are not related to lectures. I would avoid.
She is extremely passionate about Marketing and is very knowledgeable. Her lectures are interesting, and she actually cares to learn about the students in the class. I feel like she gives very good feedback with the lectures in class. It is important to show up to class, as you would not benefit by just reading off her slides.
Lectures are seemingly unrelated to course content. She doesn't follow her own provided guidelines while marking; rather, she just gives you a mark and ignores you if you have questions about why you got the mark. The online class is highly disorganized, not that it matters because the midterm was on non-course related content.
If you want to watch two-year-old lectures where Keltie explains why she had a bad morning, then this class is for you! Also, better hope you can memorize a textbook that isn't even required because her notes are entirely irrelevant to the class. All she does is rant about herself, the environment and then tests you on textbook material. RUN!
Very tough grader when not very specific about assignments. You can follow the outline perfectly and receive a horrible grade; she never says why. Has a midterm and final when the rest of the class is project and group based. The questions on the test have nothing to do with what we have learned.
I know you're probably reading all of these reviews and going "it can't be that bad, can it?". It is. Drop the course, and take another online section. Useless videos and lecture notes that barely scratch what you'll be tested on, incredibly difficult exams that seem to have content on them that isn't really covered, and no feedback. Ever.
Many lectures given were irrelevant to the course. The course itself was planned poorly with a video and response, final group project, Witten response and the final exam all within less than 2 weeks. Feedback given did not aid in improving the knowledge of the course. Please avoid at all costs.
If you're taking an asynchronous class with Keltie, be prepared to teach yourself everything. She reuses old lectures(long and unedited) and content. Rarely responds to emails, and when she does it's basically useless. No feedback whatsoever for the group project. Makes all major assignments due at the same time as a bunch of discussion posts. RUN
Stay away at all costs. She is horrible. She marks unreasonably hard for assignments that are extremely unclear as to what is being asked. You have to watch long videos of her poorly explaining simple assignments, and then watch your GPA fall as you missed "fatal" parts of the assignment that were not clearly explained at all.
The problem I had with this class and her as a prof is the fact that her lectures and minimal reading materials was not enough to prepare us for the exam or the projects. - I feel like she failed in terms of educating. Everything talked about was incredibly vague. Very disappointed in her as a prof and would never have her again.
avoid at all costs
The professor was just a nightmare. Even for an online course we had the whole class struggling just to pass in an introductory course. I mean if that does not scare you I do not know what will. She replies late to emails, never does grading on time, and grades so hard that it does not even make sense to me.
Hands down the most unserious prof I've ever had. Is impossible to reach during the school year and doesn't explain where marks were lost. I'd recommend choosing another prof :) best of luck to anyone taking Ms. Gower
She was accessible outside of class since it was an online course and responded to emails in an appropriate amount of time. The group project wasn't that bad, the videos were easy marks if you followed the BPW and she handed out free marks for the discussion posts. You need to understand the material for the final exam as it integrates the project.
This professor was very rude when emailing for help. Do not recommend, avoid as much as possible. Eneded up dropping the class.
Keltie is a wildly inconsistent grader. She didn't follow her own rubric and made many grading mistakes throughout the semester.
Gower's marketing class wasn't very hard, it was blog posts each week and some quizzes with a midterm and final and a huge group project and individual research paper. She marked the individual assignment easy but was a very hard marker with the group project. I think she's better than the other mark teachers. Not a great emailer.
The term group project had weekly graded check ins. How can we get 100% on the weekly check ins, and then 60% on the project. Her exam was very unfair as you had to submit each question individually before you could proceed to the net. Also she had a trivial question on the final exam asking how she addressed us in the weekly posted video lectures
good and easy assignments, but she is a really tough grader and doesn't have mercy
Keltie grades your assignments like she's throwing darts at a board. Extremely disorganized and has ridiculous expectations without any resources to educate students. "Professor" is a longshot. Keltie has significantly destroyed my faith in the education system at MacEwan. What an absolute scam of a class. Thanks for taking my money.
I would definitely choose any other professor over her. She does not respond to emails so must be spoken to during class hours if possible. Group project was in this class worth a lot and it had to be presented to the class. She does have bonus marks on exams but they are questions related to her and her likings.
Keltie's BUS201 class was a real challenge - assignments were graded harshly, and communication with the professor was difficult. However, using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook helped me stay on top of the material. Overall, it was a tough but rewarding experience.
Keltie was very passionate about this course. The class was composed of lectures and a big group project worth 50% of your grade; she also graded you for participation (only 1-2%). She was very nice and did respond to emails. She gave good feedback, and reasonable exam (1midterm & 1 Final)
Attendance wasn't mandatory, but would reccomend going to class for participation. Group project was good and tests were not too difficult. Pay attention and you will pass. She reccommended the textbook but I got by fine without it.
Pros: Nothing Cons: -go to lecture or not no difference -Class is uncontrolled by Keltie, students just say whatever they want to -Good luck studying for exams, there isn't any material to go over for either the mid term or the final exam -There is a group project worth 50 % of all ur grade, have fun if you get paired with members with negative IQ
I did enjoy Keltie as a prof. I feel her class were engaging and I did enjoy them. She brought a lot of personal experiences which help connect the class in other ways. One thing I would change I felt for review for the exams it was bit confusing as there were not really like study guides, but overall great prof and I would recommend.
Does not tell you what is on the exams. drop this course. also takes forever to email back and the exams are very difficult.
so glad this course is over, I hope I never see this profs face again in my life.
She's hilarious and genuinely personable. I honestly loved her lectures. I wish the slides were more condensed and the key information for exams was highlighted more clearly, because her exams are HARD and there's no study guide. If you really focus on the group project and put solid effort into it, the class feels much easier overall. Love Keltie.
