He has a really cool tattoo.
he grades the paper so funny
Great math instructor. You want a challenge, take him, he'll challenge you. Got to be one of the coolest person's in SAC.
great professor
He is so hot! Oh my god! I learned so much from him. I recommend him to everyone I know that struggles in math! Go Mr. Leeds!
He's always willing to help and is very good with lectures.
If you are one of those that think you'll fail math..take this guy. He makes it seem easy and explains clearly. His tests are easy..gives you few of the hard problems, more of the easy ones. He also doubles your best test score. He's a funny guy too. *this is from summer class*
I loved this teacher!!! He is one of the best teachers u can take, even if u hate Math!! I took him during the summer and it didnt even seem like a summer class. I recomend this teacher to those who strugle with math.
the best calc teacher u can have!! makes the class easy, understandable, and is a really cool guy. i can't say if he's hot or not...i'm a guy. hehe. well yeah. great teacher.
This professor seems that he doesn't teach anything at all...The way he teaches math 170 isn't very clear and helpful. Also in his class is boring, it will make you go to sleep as well. I recommend that don't take this professor, please take other professor instead!!!
Whoever said Mr. Leeds is not good for 170 must have been completely out of it. He is challenging, but I learned alot. His notes are clear and he is very helpful.
Always had a hard time with math, but this teacher was really good. I got my frist math A! He's got a cute toosh too!
Calc is a hard subject but he is a good professor. i didn't have time to study for one of the test but after talking to him, he replaced my 56/100 score with my other lowest test score (90) which was really cool. overall a nice guy and teaches a hard subject really well.
He is the best!
great professor, definitely take him
Great teacher, very helpful. Plus he made it demanding enough to where I actually learned rather than just passing a class.
great instructor, definitely take him. Not the easiest, but you will learn and be prepared for the next course!
Really good teacher but he made me sweat whenever he got near me.
He's great - demanding, but you will learn. Be ready to work...
Kelvin is a terrific Algebra teacher! I had him for N48, and being a older student I have not done Algebra in almost 30 years. I did ALL the extra credit he offered plus spent about 10 hours with a tutor. At the end of the semester I had a 68 (D) percent on the Final but a 74 (C) for the semester. I learned a lot from Kelvin. I Highly Recommend.
This teacher is so demanding and challenging! I had to drop his class to be able to cope with my other classes. Take him only when you can afford to spend a lot of time to understand calculus. I am a straight A student, and I do not recomment this prof. He is really intelligent when you talk to him, but not for me.
this is a really good math teacher I ever have.I like the way he gives quizzes and tests. You don't need the book, too.I'll take calculus with him in this fall.
He is so great!!
great instructor, definitely take him
He is one of the best math instructors around. I am a physics major and all of my math and science classes that are calculus and above are demaning - so the person below who did not recommend him needs to get a clue and realize that calculus is tough and takes everyone a lot of time, even straight A students... I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Leeds
Ok, normally I do not post on these sites, but when I saw the comment about Mr. Leeds in Math 185 I was surprised. This semester he told us he has not taught 185 in a long time, and has not plans to teach it any time soon. So that comment about him being a bad teacher must be about someone else - mr. leeds does not even wear a tie... He is great!
Great teacher
good instructor, be ready to work, but you will learn a lot.
People on this site are LAZY! I agree with the person below, if you do not speak English, obviously you will not do well. Mr. Leeds is one of the best teachers I have ever had, he is not the easiest, but one of the best.
I am Asian, and I got A in Mr. Leeds. He is a good teacher.
I really liked him. He's really easy... wants to see you succeed. highly recommend him!
I like Mr.Leeds as a person, but as a teacher he isn't as great. Half the class dropped or failed, and i believe it has to do with the way he teaches. I do not recommend him as a good math teacher.
Very helpful and he is very clear on his way on teaching you also very organize.
this professor was pretty bad. i'm usually the type of person who hangs in there no matter what, but i had to drop his class. he went too fast, he didn't seem to care if ppl followed or not. i've overloaded myself with intersession classes before and passed with B's & A's.. and to actually drop a math 80 class cause of the professor, don't take him
Mr. Leeds notes are not helpful at all. He would do the simple questions then leave the complicated question for the students and expect everyone to understand it by the end of class or else your on your own. He doesn't explain very clearly and skips through steps and expecting everyone to know what he is doing. plus his HW are a killer
Hi I have taken math classe with oter teachers en they always use the book as part of there class but Mr Leeds doesn't care at all. I really don't like his strategy to teach because he always make groups and sometimes the students are not prepare to help other students. Honestly on my point of view He really doesn't teach. He should get rid of grou
Professor Leeds is a really good teacher. His class isn't easy but he explains math well and will prepare you for future math classes. I am currently taking Math 60 and already know everything being reviewed because of the preparation Professor Leeds provided. I highly recommend taking his class!
Very smart and helpful. DO HW! His tests are open notes when I took him in Summer 2008, Math 180. Do handout exercises too & submit on time. Do orals for extra credit.
i didnt think he was a grea professor. he pretty much has you do the work in groups and we pretty much taught the class. i didnt understand him a whole lot and i have a hard time with math.
i had to drop the class because i was failing..hes so hard and you just cant understand the way he explains things..hes too fast and he expects you to learn the material by yourself. you could tell he doesnt care about his students.
MR LEEDS IS A HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR. HE GOES TOO FAST. EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW WHAT HE IS EXPLAINING. DOES NOT EXPLAIN WELL. WHEN YOU ASK A QUESTION HE DOES NOT SHOW YOU, HE SHOULD BREAK IT DOWN STEP BY STEP. GROUP PROBLEMS DON'T WORK WHEN NOBODY KNOWS HOW TO DO IT. LEEDS IF YOU'RE READING THIS BE MORE ATTENTIVE WITH YOUR STUDENTS AND HELP THEM PASS!
Honestly If you dropped this class or failed it, you are probably not cut out for calculus. Stop complaining it's not the teacher's fault your not smart.
he teaches too fast assume you already know what he is teaching. If you are a bad math person DO NOT take him or you will either drop or fail.
awesome prof!
By far my favorite math teacher! If i ever had to take math again i would only take it if he taught it.
omg, he is sooooooo eassyyy.!you learn so much and he doesnt give enough homework, i love his course it is so much fun to work in a group, hes notes are so helpful, hes the best.!
i love him, he's so good and hot! i totally recommend him, the dla's are fabulous, really enjoyed his class, fell in love with math thanks to him <3
Goes over the chapters way too fast and doesn't break down each step of getting the answers. Assumes you know the material and quickly moves on. So far I have a C while majority of the class has D's and F's says a lot about the way he teaches!I love math but he makes it much more confusing than it has to be.If ur taking him take the free tutoring!
Don't take Leeds he is not helpful! And makes no sense sometimes
If you have a chance to take him, do it. I strongly recommend him. I got an A without doing any HW. (no hw points in his class). He is generous on partial credits.. Disregard what other people wrote about him. Guaranteed EASY.
I wouldn't recommend this instructor. His teaching techniques need improvement. Take another instructor for math.
Best. Prof. Ever.
Homework is not collected nor graded. Take 4 quizzes and Exams. 1 final worth 200 points. Also 4 handouts that help you prepare for the exams. He is not that good at explaining during his lessons but when he goes over the homework is were he helps a lot. He is good at partial credit and highly recommend doing homework and going to the math center.
Don't take him. He is not clear and sometimes confused in solution . I'm very good at math , I got A+ in math 170 . But in his class , I was struggle with his way , not helpful and very strict in exam . Quizz easy but exam very hard , not collect homework , take another one if you want a B
I did not homework and got an A. All you peeps need to get off your butt, study, and you will pass.
He is a very thoughtful and a nice prof. If you want to be good at calculus to take Math 185, take his class. I got an A but honestly, I had to work really hard. There are about 39-40 sections to go through for the final exam. There are 4 quizzes (10pts each), 4 handouts (15-20 each, do at home), 4 exams (100pts each), 1 final (200pts)
Mr.Leeds was great very helpful if you work hard it will pay off.Have to do the homework and lab work gives you extra credit for going to tutoring. Wish i could take him for all my math classes!
The notes don't help at all, he does half of the work in hes head so when you look back at the notes you won't understand them.
He teaches way to fast. You either listen or take notes. He doesn't even teach. If you're not good at math don't take him.
He can't teach.
I've read all the things other students wrote about him and they all made me laugh. His notes go along with the text book. If you don't understand something and you don't want to ask, look it up in your text book. If you ask him after class, he will help. It's your fault if you get a grade you don't want. Afterall, you pay, he lectures, you STUDY.
Highly organized, wastes no class time. Always returns examsquizzeshandouts graded by next lecture. Awards partial credit very generously. Shares notes in convenient format. Emphasizes competency in areas that will appear in future classes. I would rate him in the top 5% of instructors at this level. (Unless you wanted to learn how to do proofs.)
Best math professor i've had. Super straight forward, do all your homework and you'll get and A, simple.
He is not an effective instructor for math 81.I knew I was struggling and decided to talk to him during the first week of the semester, I had asked him for more help during lectures. He told me maybe I need to go back to Math 60. To me, that was really offensive and in appropriate. I had to work really hard in his class to pass his class with an A
Leeds is awesome. He is the professor for serious students. Take him if you want to do well in your later math classes
Have to put in extreme effort for outside class tutoring
For his first semester teaching Stats, it was bad, real bad! This is the toughest class. I had to get a tutor and paid a lot of money outside of school. My tutor helped me pass. He lectures really fast and you have to keep up. He only explains one time and one time only. He doesn't explain for you to understand. He lectures because he has to.
He made it seem like asking questions about problems such a drag. The most thing that seemed to annoying himy is asking how to work the calculator
He's definitely not the worst calc prof out there. If anything, he's far more lenient than most others in terms of grading (generous with partial credit). 4 exams, 1 final, 4 quizzes, 4 graded handouts. HW isn't collected but a problem is randomly chosen to be in each quiz. Exams are fair, just be well versed in the basic concepts of each topic.
I would not recommend taking this professor for stats. I got a good grade in his class but I had to teach myself using other professors youtube lectures. Much of his class consists of group work which I think was mainly the problem. Most of the time the group was just lost and it was pretty much pointless. When he did lecture it was not clear.
Mr Leeds is an awesome professor! There will be days where there is up to 2 lessons but he goes over problems . He is leniant and is at the math center ready to help. I don't know why others complain. He is self explanatory . Do your homework and study for exams and you'll be fine!
Professor Leeds is not a horrible professor, but if you struggle with math this is not the professor for you to be taking a math course with. He does not make math interesting & does help students during class, but feels as though he expects you to grasp the material quickly & particularly with this subject since he has not taught stats for long
As a retake, he is definitely the best professor to take. As long as you do the homework and classwork he gives out, you'll be fine. He is also very generous with partial credit for the tests. Math center is key if this is your first time taking the class
Great Professor. Took him the first time I took calculus. (Math 180). Due to some personal issues, I ended up failing his class. However, after taking another professor during summer intersession, it made me realize how great a professor Leeds actually is. I wish I could retake him again. Gives Extra Credit opportunities. Exams are fair. DO HW.
When I was stuck on a concept, Prof. Leeds explained the concept in such a way that I totally understood it! He is so helpful and an inspiration and I feel like a math ninja!
You literally have to teach yourself the subject. He's better with Calc and not Stats. The class i was in more then half dropped including myself bc momma dont need that type of stress. So take my word for it... take someone else
Professor Leeds has a lack of communication specifically his soft skills, he intends to show off his staff in school that he cares for students. In reality he isn't available for give caring for his communication skills regards updates the students with keeping up with the emails to notify them ahead. He has to surprise students in his hardest quiz
The instructor has two assistants that help tech some of the steps needed to solve an equation but the professor does not teach you anythiing . He shows little patience if any students have problems an equation and does not provide any direct guidance.
He didn't teach the material in an effective manner. When he did problems on the board he would skip steps, and not explain parts of problem, because he assumed we knew the information already. I feel like the only way to succeed in his class is if you come into class with prior knowledge about calculus.
Instructor should go over more problems during class so plenty of examples to compare and contrast. It would also behoove the professor not to a skip steps, because whether or not a student knows the algebra or not, when they're trying confused about the process of a problem, missed steps only further hurt their understanding.
I failed my 1st quiz and exam at the beginning of M105 but I was able to get a "B" in the end. Although he didn't check homework DO THE HOMEWORK. It's for your own good and it helps a lot considering quizzes are open "homework notes." I know Leeds rushes through lecture notes, but he does get the main points across. DONT GIVE UP EASILY. He's great.
BEST. TEACHER. EVER. Good prof, you will pass.
Gives lots of extra credit, take him!
Sooooo amazing. Give lots of extra credit, makes it easy to pass.
Go to class and you will pass. Sweet guy.
Cool dude. Super easy. Go to class and its all good.
Do the homework and you will pass. Exams come from homework. Lots of extra credit. Nice guy.
Sweet prof. Really hlepful. Just go to class and you will get an A.
I am really bad at math. Professor Leeds made it easy. Lots of extra credit, so helpful.
I was scared to take this class. He made it easy cause of the homework. There is a lot, but it helps you pass the exams and quizzes. also, do the extra credit.
Leeds is legit the best prof. He wanted us to get good grades. Go full throttle on the homework and you will be good.
I was so scared to take this class online. Leeds is organized and quick to answer questions. Do the homework.
Videos and online instruction are really good. If you stay up on things, you will be ok. I am really bad at math, but Leeds has it organized really good, which helps everyone pass.
His class was ok, I guess. He responded fast, and mostly expalined stuff well, but I never really felt like I was getting it. But I got a b! So, now im done with math!
Lots of work, fun class. Do the homework.
Super organized, stay up with the hw and do the reviews and you will be good.
I took Prof. Leeds for the online course of Stats and Probability. I definitely learned a lot. He is well-organized with his modules, grades, and files. Book was supplemental for learning. Leeds gives all the tools needed to understand every topic in a simpler manner. I appreciate the lecture videos! Just do all the HW. Overall, he's a great!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS The final test alone is 20 percent of your grade and regular tests make up the other 40 if you are not a good test taker do not take this man NOT TO MENTION TESTS LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE HOMEWORK NO EXTRA CREDIT and DOES NOT CURVE GRADES If you are not good at math please do not take this class Telling you for your own good
Professor Leeds sets up the course online to facilitate the learning process with video and links. He answers & clarifies questions on a weekly discussion board and allows you to extend a certain amount of hw due dates dont use those until you get to binomials. Do all the homework & take the extra time needed to study; itll be worth it.
He is a very caring and understanding teacher. He makes a lot of effort to be accessible to his students through office hours and the math center. This is my first college math course and although I was nervous at first, I managed to pass his class with an A. Do all the homework! The exam reviews are very similar to the actual exams, study them!
Leeds is great. He really understood how crazy Spring 2020 semester was for studnets. I still learned a lot after we went online in March. He will make sure you pass.
Super cool this spring, really helped all students pass. Expensive book, but nice prof, take him.
Leeds gvies us all lots of make ups, and extra credit. Do the hw.
This dude is absolutely awful I wouldn't recommend him to even my worst enemy. Legit he is an awful teacher he doesn't teach and forces you to buy an expensive calculator. He is awful awful awful awful. please listen to me and take a better professor like Romero or someone else, please.
Math is not my thing. Leed makes it easy.
I got my first B in math cause of Prof Leeds. He explains good, and makes it fun to learn.
I had Professor Leeds this past Fall20 semester for MATH219 online. I usually have a problem with professors who give work that is unnecessary and such, so I was pleased to see that all of the assignments in this class were only there to help me learn the material, not to waste my time. I respected this professor for his respect of my limited time.
Mr. Leeds was there for me since the beginning through the end! He does care, so asking questions during his office hours got me through many quizzes. Don't be afraid to ask for help, remember that we are paying for the class. Such a wonderful professor, highly recommend it. And definitely, I will take his class for next semester.
Legit prof. Free online book and calculator helps with homework. He wants students to pass.
100% do not recommend taking this class if you want clear instructions. Professor Leeds gives you the resources to do the homework but does not explain anything you do in class. Feedback is at an absolute minimum and no answers are ever given for quizzes or study guides. The quizzes and tests look NOTHING like the homework so be prepared.
Professor Leeds responds to your email very quickly, which as a student, proves me how good a professor is. There are four exams and one final, and there is a review for each of the five assignments; make sure to complete them as they will count and can change your B- to an A. Everything is on the syllabus, no surprise. Good professor overall!
Book is available online, legit organized. Responds quickly and cares so will be flexible when needed
He's alright not a bad choice to take. I took his class online via zoom meetings. I just showed up to the zoom meetings and paid attention.
Professor Leeds gave us multiple opportunities to practice the material and made sure we all understood it. He would post his notes and recordings of lectures on canvas. His study guides are super helpful, you are certain to pass the tests if you complete them. Assignments aren't too hard and we barely had any projects. Definitely recommend :)
DO NOT take this class fully online without zoom lectures, its a lot to cover by yourself each week. tutors at the math center say he is a hard calc prof compared to others. he is friendly if you reach out tho, and does offer consistent office hours. just be prepared to put time and effort into this class.
Overall, I think Professor Leeds is great especially for those who need an online class with time accommodations. He opens exams at the same time, however he will open it days before if you are unable to take in on the set day which is just great!
took this professor because i needed a stats class and it went well! he was kind when giving feedback and the workload was manageable even when i was taking 20 units at another college. i recommend not skipping the review assignments because it boosts your grade a lot.
Good class, very easy but still got concepts. Made it easy to learn.
