Awesome class and professor. It was fun, learned a lot, recommended it to my friends.
Wasn't interested in this. I needed credits and it looked easy. It wasn't easy and I learned a lot more than expected. Probably the most fun I've had here at Fullerton. Great class.

What a shot in the arm this class was. Totally unexpected. Perfect balance between lecture and workout. Lectures are fast and funny. Sense of humor is off the wall. Different workout every class - great idea - loved it. Loved the class, loved the professor - among the top 3 I've ever had. Wish I had more of his classes.
Wish all classes were this fun and informative. Learned a lot. Looked forward to the class each week. That's never happened before!
Professor Alan and the class were awesome. Even if you don't want to teach exercise classes, you'll learn what makes a good class and be able to get more out of your workouts. Loved the guest instructors, loved the personal fitness project (I'm still doing it!), loved the energy, the videos, the humor.. recommending this class to a few friends.
He cares that you understand what he's talking about; always willing to help, friendly, funny, lots of energy made it go by quickly. Really liked this course. GREAT professor.
Fortunately, I've had many great professors at Fullerton. In my last semester before graduating, I get Professor Alan. This dude's modest. He doesnt tell you what else he does and has done. Google'd him and he's one of the top persons in the fitness industry. It shows. He's knows his stuff. I wish he taught more classes. I'm lucky I got this one!!
He does many good things that make taking this class enjoyable..stretch breaks during lectures, massage, coordination jumps with a partner, shows great video clips,excellent powerpoints and handouts. He is one of the best professors on campus, certainly one of the tops in Kines. His humor is contagious - jokes about himself a lot. Total nerd jock!
Cool professor. One of the most useful classes I've had. And looked forward to coming to class each week. Very fun and enjoyable.
Professor Alan very cool. Knes 352 very cool. Glad I took this though initially was tentative cause I hate public speaking. Had a number of big breakthroughs here. This class was more beneficial than just about any I've had..ever. Highly recommended. I'm going to take it again.
Took this class for the 3 units to graduate, but ended up loving it - a lot of fun. Interesting topics, and every workout is different. Prof. Alan can be hilarious. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class. Highly recommended. Loved the personal fitness project - its changed me so much and I feel better than any time I've ever felt!
Really surprised how much I liked this class and this professor. Low-key sense of humor had me in stitches all semester. Go to the classes, each one is a different workout, so if you miss it you don't get to learn it. Test questions are from the workouts. Book is ok, and there are questions from it, too. Great class. Cool prof. Recommended highly.
Dr. Alan is one of the best professors at Fullerton. Incredibly approachable. He wants you to succeed. Possesses the rare ability to relate to us. He's always willing to listen to you and help you. He makes learning fun, I mean, really fun. I looked forward to every class. Show up, take notes, review handouts - you'll do well. I recommend him.
Out of all the teachers Ive taken at CSUF, Professor Allan was the most inspirational, down-to-earth, and passionate professor CSUF has to offer. He rocks! If you're at all interested in teaching exercise classes, dont miss this class. I learned so much. Fun, energetic, a great human being. Knows his stuff. Glad to have been apart of his class!
loved it. didnt have an interest in it actually. looked easy too. but learned more than i thought i would. professor makes it lively and entertaining. kinda cross between nerdy and old jock, but cool without trying to be. need to pay attention to do get an A. easy to do with his energy/enthusiasm.
Professor Alan is worth the wait. Tried enrolling twice & it was full. Now I know why. Maybe the best professor I've had. Pay attention (easy to do, he's got a ton of energy), read the handouts, dont miss class - you wont want to - it's that enjoyable. Learned a lot. Laughed even more.

Wish this class met twice a week instead of once. Hard to go 3 hours and sometimes a lot of it we're working out. He makes it fun which helps a lot. Can't figure out if he's an old nerd or an old jock, but he's the class interesting.

Has a great attitude. He's a great professor. Loved the class. So much fun. Willing to help students understand whenever we were in class. Very good at explaining the material and very patient. Interested in students' performance and participation and making them better. He was upfront about what was expected of us. Very engaging.
He's very active in class. Great involvement, great attitude. He has too much energy! Very descriptive. Interesting topics - things you can apply to the work world. Fun class - probably my favorite class.

Class isn't quite over, but it's been awesome. The professor was in a wheelchair at the beginning of the semester and still has his foot wrapped and still was the best teacher I've had here. So glad I got in this class. It has helped me a lot.

A great semester. Really enjoyed this class and the vast number of techniques I learned, implemented and used with my clients and students. This by far is the best class I have taken at Fullerton.

LOVED this class. Loved the assignments especially the personal project (stayed with it!!), loved the workouts, lectures, guest speakers (awesome), new exercises, loved understanding finally what core training is about, loved the music, videos, IRS, energizers, progressive relaxation...most of all, loved the Professor.
Very compassionate professor...showed a bit of grace for the various learning curves. Provided info beyond the course objectives. Extremely helpful. You must take Professor Alan's classes - so glad I did.

Attitude was excellent. Knows his subject. Kept us involved. Respectful. So enthusiastic. Laid out the course outline and objectives well. Brought in experts in each field. Thorough notes and lectures. Always willing to help. Would go over each workout and that was very useful. Time flies by. Sorry class ends, even after being there 3 hours!
Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, however his jokes are borderline inappropriate and sometimes made people uncomfortable. Lots of exercising, so be prepared, but it gives you a chance to try out new forms of exercise that you may have never tried, which is fun. Assigns a personal fitness project that you work on most of the semester.
Just finished this class tonight. What an experience. I'm sad that it's over! Don't know if I ever felt like that about a class. Got so much from his class that I will use all my life. Not a wasted minute. I'm psyched!

One of my favorite professors in my 3 years of attending CSUF. He really cares about his students and you can tell by how much fun he has teaching and interacting with everyone. Tests are easy if you pay attention to lectures and do the short readings, very straightfoward material. Always willing to answer questions and help.

Took this class last year because it was required for my Took this class last year- required for gero-kines major. What a help it's been now. Teaching exercise classes for parks & rec, and wish I could take this class again!! The classnotes have helped me a lot, glad I saved them. If I could only remember some of the workouts - awesome ideas!
Wasn't that interested in this class. By the end of the semester, was ready to take it again. Will use a lot of things I learned in the future. He brought in amazing guest teachers. If you want to teach exercise classes, this class is a must. Wish I took other classes from this professor. He's great.

This is my sixth year here at Cal State Fullerton and only my first time using Rate my Professor. The reason I have finally made the decision to do so is because Ken is the most amazing teacher I have had. His happiness and love for life is so contagious, and his class is incredibly fun! He also cares a ton about his students! 11/10!!!
Ken was a great professor! There weren't many assignments/homework given, but those few were all easy and manageable. Although, he tends to often go on lots of tangents, sometimes to the point where it's cringey. Yet, very compassionate and was always ready to help out when needed.
One of those game-changing classes. Learned the nuts and bolts about leading an exercise class. Actually, about teaching an exercise class. Don't know if I ever will, but I understand much better why I love some workout classes and not others. Valuable course. Not a wasted moment. Even when he was wasting time to amuse us.
If you take him I swear to you it will be one of your best decisions you have ever made. He is incredibly well-respected in his field. He is the nicest professor I have ever had. He shows a ton of interest in each of his students and is EASILY the best person CSUF could have ever gotten to teach this course. TAKE THIS CLASS, you will not regret it!
Wish I could have taken this class in person. It was my favorite class since going virtual. You do a lot of different workouts and I found some amazing instructors. He breaks down the skills you need to teach exercise and then gives you assignments to learn them. This was a life-saver in the most stressful year.

I needed 3 units to graduate and time/day fit my schedule. He tried to let us out early each week - it's almost 3 hours long and during dinner. I appreciate the extra time he gave us. Guest instructors were great. Lots of homework but assignments were fun to do and beneficial. I'd take this class again if I could, but I'm graduating - yeah!!
Ken Alan is a fantastic professor. He is extremely genuine and kind hearted. He is on the older side but he makes his classes fun and tries to have a great time alongside you. If you need an extra KNES course, I would highly recommend this one because he truly is the most amazing professor. I wish him great health and fulfilling days
Appreciate the instructor's enthusiasm, particularly for his age. I like how detailed each assignment's instructions are. Listening to his lectures are the best - very helpful. Notes posted on Canvas are best. Class structured very well.
Never took exercise classes before. Took this because I needed 3 units to graduate. Wasn't my first choice. Ended up loving this class. Time went by fast even though 3 hour class. I'd take it again, but I'm graduating!

A lot different than I thought it would be. That's a good thing. First half of class is lecture, then we workout. Each week is a different workout, so a lot of variety. I thought we'd do the same thing each week. Lots of homework, but it's easy, and the assignments are useful and actually fun sometimes. More classes should be like this one.

This is my last semester and I'm just discovering this professor now? Why didn't I know about him my first year- I would have taken all his classes. I think the best professor I've had. So many great things about his class. If you want to teach exercise you shouldn't miss this course. Learned a lot for work and learned a lot about myself.
One of the best exercise classes I've taken at CSUF. Professor Ken really knows his stuff and makes the material engaging. The workouts were fun, and I found Unstuckstudy helpful for studying. Definitely recommend this class if you're interested in exercise instruction.
I loved this class. It was the best class in my 4.5 years at Fullerton. Wished I saved all the notes and handouts - I could sure use them now. I was asked to teach some exercise classes where I live because some neighbors told them I was a kinesiology major. That degree is starting to pay off!!
