Excellent teacher, really knows his stuff.
THE BEST Math Instructor at CCC
A friend of mine recommended I take math from him...I was glad I listen to my friend. I came out of high school with an F in Alg 2. I took him when I was a freshman and am now two classes away from completing my engineering calculus series with a's and bs
made Intro to Calculas bearable
Awesome teacher!! Very helpful and funny!
Ken is a gem of an instructor. More than willing to go the extra mile for students. I am a math ROCK and Ken was able to get me to understand. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS A MATH INSTRUCTOR.
Mr. Anderson is an excellent teacher. He is not overly critical, and is always ready to help when needed.
Ken was a great instructor and wants to see his students succeed. At times he went over the material a little fast but he's willing to help you understand.
I hated math until I took 111 with Anderson, then I realized it could be interesting. The teacher makes all the difference. If you hate math, take it Anderson, he makes it pretty plain and simple.
Awesome Teacher!
He is a really great teacher. For a hard class like Mth 111 he made it easy. He makes it fun and takes time to make sure you understand. I would recomend this instructor to everyone. Want an A get his class!
Personally he is a really fun teacher. He is the best teacher I have had in years. His lectures are great and explains how to do your hw. His reviews prior before the test corresponds with the actual test. As long as you keep up w/ hw, VERY EASY A.
I got an incomplete in his class a couple terms ago and I need to retake it, and he is helping me take it independly because I cant take a lecture class and his class is already full. I appreciate the kindness and compassion he is showing me.
Pretty good teacher! One thing that bothored me was he does not go over the homework after you do it. But I am coming through with an A thus far and am understanding the material pretty well anyways. (He's good at explaining things and I am definatly not a math wiz)
He is not my favorite teacher and it was not fun in math class, but he gave the work and tests so I could pass them. He allows a notecard which helps on the tests. I passed his class with an A and I only did B effort. I still had to show up and do the work to get that A.
Very good instructor. He is very dedicated to helping students learn.

Anderson is my favorite teacher so far. He was always very clear, and gave good structured notes. He was glad to help and always went over any questions the class had on the homework. Overall, a VERY good teacher. Recommended highly!
Gives extra credit, including for giving blood, or service work, loves pepsi, and will do whatever he can to help everyone learn, He does not pick out anyone, he makes sure everyone understands what he is saying, he stays after class and meets with students all the time, even though its mostly understandable in class, even for math dummies like me
Ken is a nice teacher. He makes math bearable.
Anderson made me like math classes again!
Great teacher. One of the best math teachers at Chemeketa. If you can take a class from him.
Class was tough but Ken made it fun.
I took online MTH 60 with no book use. Everything was great! I loved his teaching style and he was very kewl. I learned more than I thought I would and he was very helpful.
Makes math easy to understand and fun. Great tests and easy assignments.
AWESOME TEACHER!
Awesome teacher and all-around great guy. Makes math fun.
Great teacher and very helpful.
He is a good teacher that goes over the material pretty well but is often confusing on tests. He words everything very wierd. Grades just on quizzes and tests. No homework ever. Recommend doing it though. At least to understand the subject.
He wasn't very helpful.
Class is hard u take final on campus when the class is tought online.
Anderson was very helpful...answered all questions to the best of his ability...explained hard questions/problems so we could understand it. I didn't ask very many questions, just studied what others asked and Anderson's explanations. I usually don't do well in math at all, but found some things interesting and fun with Quadratic Equations.
he was clear and helpful. i photocopied the homework pages and did very well.
fantastic teacher, caring person
Pretty easy stuff. I had a problem and so i emailed him about 6pm and he got back to me very quickly. I would take any of his classes!
Nothing bad to say. He is there and eager to help.
I loved this teacher, thought he was awesome. Explained things very clearly, was always there at office hours to help with any questions! Would highly recommend him!!
Not just a great instructor bu great onilne instructor! (Not the same things.) I transferred in from a loser of a class 3.5 weeks in (it later closed down) and with his help, caught up quickly. The model of a GREAT teacher. If he's teaching a class you need, he's the guy to go with, hands down, no question. The best in my 6 terms by far.
An extremely good teacher. He takes interest in his students and knows the material very well. Very capable of helping students understand things by working with them.
This instructor is highly overrated. He is unhelpful, and doesn't care about his students success. I would advise students to avoid taking him, and really just take their math courses at another college or university, because Chemeketa's math dept is a total joke.
Ken is a great instructor. He makes it easy to succeed with extra credit. I enjoyed his hybrid course. Thanks for the pepsi Ken!
Best math teacher I have ever had! Very energetic and explains things very well. You can tell he really loves to teach people.
Great teacher, only math instructor to learn my name.
Had him for mth 95, online. Let me tell you..its deffiently an online class you don't want to procrastinate in. No due dates for homework besides a deadline before the ON CAMPUS PROCTERED final. Which the final counts 50% of grade, so very important to make sure you know what youre doing. Video lectures are wonderful, and uses book! Like him!!
Math on line-crazy. I studied like a madman. The course is good and easy to follow but you have got to know your stuff. No extra credit and be prepared for random questions on the quizzes that are not on the review. That can mess a person up. Super intense class.
Online video lectures are super helpful!
I took the Online class and the videos he made for the class were extremely insightful, easy to follow, used real examples and over all extremely helpful. Anderson puts forth more effort to help his students learn than most professors I have had. If you are taking Math 95 at Chemeketa I would definitely recommend taking it from Anderson.
Took Ken for math 95 great instructor very thorough and helpful. OH! and his favorite drink is pepsi! I got an A in the class, it was hybrid. There was quit a bit of work on mathlab but if u didn't get a good score, he reopens it at the end so u can bring your grade up. First exam is omitted if ur grade on final is better!A all around Great teacher
Ken was wonderful. There was a Section I was having a hard time understanding, Ken took the time to sit down with me after class to explain I understood it all after that meeting. I had the same issue with MML and he helped me through that as well. You just need to ask for help and you will receive it!
Anderson rocks! The videos on the course homepage are very informative and helpful. He is always easy to talk to and very helpful if you ask. Lots of homework, but if you stay on task it all good. I would recommend him for anyone taking math 95.
He was awesome, I forgot about the proctor sheet until a few weeks after it was due and I was able to talk with him and he helped me out. This guy is good.
Supper helpful guy. Easy to understand. It was the first Math class I have ever enjoyed.
I was in his hybrid class. Ken's awesome and very helpful. The class was laid back and fun but very very informative. That being said, GO TO CLASS. If you never look at his lectures online, for the love of god go to class. And do your homework, you bums.
The best math teacher I ever had. I took the hybrid class, which was awesome. He provided very helpful videos as well as a chance for extra credit for notes. As long as you show up for class, pay attention and keep up on online work as well, it isn't difficult to get an A. He made the material very easy to comprehend.
I was in the hybrid class as well, I will take his class again if I need to for another subject! He is SUPER helpful and nice, I turned paper in a day late and still got full credit, he is laid back, and as long as you pay attention and do the homework there is no reason you shouldn't pass with flying colors he goes above and beyond to help!
Awesome teacher. Don't miss class, alot of good clear information is given in each class. I took the Hybrid and it its your choice whether you get an A in this class. Just do the Homework and go to class and you will be well prepared for the Final that is worth 50% of the grade.
Instructions were easy to follow. I understood this math course better than anything I took in High School. Class was accelerated summer course.
I took mth 95 hybrid. I had been out of HS for 6 yrs & was nervous. He is clear about what needs to be done and is EXTREMELY helpful. Midterm and final are 50% of your grade, but as long as you ask questions on things you don't understand, you'll be fine. You get to use a cheat sheet on those. Extra credit for 5 percentage points. Great teacher!
I took Professor Anderson's Math 95 class online. His expectations were very well laid out. He was so helpful and answered emails right away. The homework is not graded but is very valuable for grasping the concepts. His videos were AWESOME. Very helpful! The final is fairly easy as long as you do the work.
Ken is a wonderful instructor!!! His video lectures are the best part of his online class! He is very thorough with his explanations and clear about his expectations. No due dates throughout the term; however, DON'T PROCRASTINATE. I only wish I could take Ken with me to teach my future math classes!
He was a sweet heart I took him Spring and I failed due to stress related issues. He was so kind and helpful he gave me an extension on my final. I still got a D, but he's funny and sweet if you'd like a great teacher that will help and listen to you work with him! You will be happy with your choice of teacher!
He helps you out by providing an entire outline of the course with due dates and assignments on day 1. This helped me stay on track a lot. He is extremely helpful and very nice. I messaged him with issues and received a thorough reply with plenty of explanationhelp included. Along with book work, there are video lectures to help clear things up.
Super nice teacher! There's a midterm and a final. I really liked that the grade was not based on only those 2 tests. The grade is based on your notebook, online homework, groupwork, and the tests. I found the online homework to be very helpful. There's also weekly videos. I definitely recommend Ken Anderson. For once I actually learned some math.
This professor is wonderful! He is helpful and kind. You want to take this online class, you get mymathlab homework (grades are helpful), he makes great lecture videos, you receive grades for doing the review online, and the exams are NOT TIMED, so you have lots of time, to get an A on your exams. You only have to go in for the Final exam.
Ken is a great teacher! His online lectures were very thorough. The My MathLab was easy to use and easy to receive an A before the final. Final is 50% of your grade and can use one side of a piece of paper.
Ken is a wonderful teacher. I took him online during summer. He had video lectures for everything and they were wonderful and even funny. His style of teaching is amazing. Expect lots of work, I spent up to 16 hours weekly doing homework (summer - so crunched course), but at the end I felt well prepared, and I did really well on the test in person.
I struggle at math so it is a subject that is hard for me. He is the nicest guy with a love for math. He will help you if you need it.
Ken's method for teaching math online was incredibly helpful. The video lectures were a great resource throughout the term and especially for the final. I was kind of upset to find that he didn't teach 111 because I would have loved to have him again. The class isn't the easiest but he gives you the tools to succeed.
Required to retake Algebra after many years. Thankfully, syllabus well laid out and was able to work at my own pace. Uses mathlab so could retake practice quizzes until I got things down pat. Good clear and simple video lectures. Have to be motivated and plan your schedule to avoid falling behind. A lot of work.
Take the Hybrid(part online part in-class)! It's the best way I've ever learned math! Really like Anderson a lot. He's funny, easy to follow and overall has a great teaching style. Anderson was very approachable and helpful with questions.
I actually passed MATH095 on the first try!!!! Ken is awesome. I am so glad that I took his online course. His lectures are easy to follow even with my learning disability. I spent 4 hours per day in learning center though. This is a tough class, so be prepared to work hard and keep up but man does it feel good to pass! Ken answers emails also!
He is an amazing professor! If you are not doing well in class just go talk to him he will help you so much!! My favourite , I wish he taught MTH111
Best teacher ever!! So nice and helpful, willing to help with homework. Met 2 times a week, so had a lot of content to cover therefore went somewhat quickly, but will slow down if you ask. Allows a page of notes for tests (midterm and final) and open homework for 4 total quizzes, which took place every other week. I actually enjoy math now! Thanks!
Excellent math teacher! I struggle in math and I ended up getting an A in the class. The quizzes relate exactly to the lectures and homework. He helps answer questions from the homework and spends a whole day of class reviewing before the midterm and the final. Very helpful! Would very much recommend!
This was my first math class in college and I have never been a great math student, so this class didn't come easy to me. Ken is friendly and helpful if you ask him questions, but he mainly does a couple examples and leaves you to do the rest. There is a lot of homework, but not counted for credit. He allows notes on quizzes, midterm, and final.
I am currently half way through his math 095 class and so far he has been great. I am taking the course online so it has been a little difficult but I have always more than enough resources available to help. There are no group projects but there is a group discussion board on the website that is helpful for hearing what other students have to say.
Ken is a great teacher, but if you struggle with math I would not take him. There is lots of textbook homework for this class which I found amusing since it's an online class, also his reviews for the tests count towards your grade which I found odd since reviews are designed to prepare you for a test and traditionally don't count.
He is so smart and such a good teacher!! I was worried going into his math class because I am not good at math. He was really helpful and responded right away to me! He let us use notes on the final and he was easy to understand. He is the best math teacher I've ever had! There is a lot of work but just do it and you will pass! :)
This was hands down the best math class I've ever taken. Mr. Anderson is really clear with what he expects from you, how you can ask for help, resources for if you're struggling, and what you should do in order to succeed in his class. Super amazing teacher.
Ken's courses can be a bit overwhelming with how easy other courses can be at this school, but he really wants you to absorb the material. If you just do everything he recommends that you do, you will come out of this course with an "A". Not only that, but you'll actually know the material.
Great professor! I didn't realize how amazing his lecture video's were until I took a different teacher. Very thorough and easy to understand. Wish I could take his class for all my future math classes. Got an A and felt prepared for MTH111. Very nice guy too.
A very nice gentleman. This class is very straightforward, if you show up and do the homework (Optional) you will easily get an A in this class.
If you love math and word problems take this class. If your not good at math, consider other instructors. He is a hard grader and despite A's on most of the math lab homework I got an F in the course because of math anxiety on the final that consisted of WORD problems, not just one, but many. I did not have time to even finish the final in 3 hours
Professor Anderson is amazing - I loved this class! He can move through lectures a bit quickly, so if you aren't paying attention you may get lost. Do your homework, participate in class and ask for help when you need it. Anderson is always ready to answer questions and explain in detail.
Did an amazing job at really helping his students understand the material and not just be able to intake info and puke it back up on a test but actually know what everything means. He helped me like math which is bizzare.
Loved this online math class! He gives video lectures that go along with the homework. They are so useful!! My other online math classes I feel like I am teaching myself math because you just read out of the book and try to learn it. With him though, it feels like you're in class. He allows a page of notes for final front and back. No midterm.
Initially I was worried about this class since I have always struggled with math the most, but Anderson was a great professor. He explained the material clearly and made sure the students were on the same page. If you have any questions he is always happy to help. I definitely recommend this class.
If you arent very good at math then don't take this class, he gives very few examples. He isnt very nice. If you do take his class do not take the hybrid course.
online course. Lots of assignments. Must complete all of them in order to take the final which is worth 50% of your grade. If you fall behind best of luck catching up.
This class was really fun. I've always liked math, but he made me rekindle the lost flame of mine. lol He was really fun to learn from. He made sure everyone stayed on track, and you could even go ahead if you wanted because you had all the assignments you had to do. I would definitely take another class from him.
Ken is an great teacher! There are 5 at home exams, 5-6 weekly assignments. The final was 21 questions pencil and paper, but he gives a review to study and if you can answer those questions you can pass. He gives awesome online lectures, to make sure you understand. The final is worth half your grade and you get one side hand written 8x11 notes!
I took Math 70 online. There are a list of assignments that have to be done before continuing to the next chapter. I found that helpful. He provided lots of videos and examples. He was straight forward with how you will be graded. Overall I enjoyed this class.
I struggle with math. I took math 70 online, there are 4 assignments you need to do in order to go to the next, But he post tutorials step by step on how to do the home work for each section. He sets you up for success. When I fell behind I spoke with him and he didnt hesitate to help me, he genuinely cares about his students. Just communicate!
I took his class because of the great reviews on here, but I didn't have that same experience. The material presented in the video lectures & lecture notes, didn't match what the textbook presented. I felt lost on each instructor created problem and the notes didn't help. I used tutoring and even they didn't understand.
I loved taking math with Mr. Anderson! He is hilarious, caring, and respected. His way of teaching is very easy to understand, and he is always willing to further explain things if needed.
The class is alright, I don' think he is as invested into his online class as he would be in person. He includes a video for his lectures for all the assignments, but I still get stuck quite often. He is a tough grader as well. If I took him again it would probably be in person and not online.
Does a great job of making math easily understandable in his video lectures. Way better than the other professors I had this term. I also really liked the way the class was structured. 10/10 would take again.
