One assignment a week, one midterm and one final. The assignments are tedious but he offers many sources of help for them. Easy A if you put in the effort
One assignment a week. Not too hard, but some effort is required.
Piazza saves you because the assignment instructions are usually very confusing. The book helps, and he keeps one at Dirac so you don't have to buy it. Grading is specific and tough, you get points off for little things if you get certain TAs
One assignment a week, some easy participation exercises as long as you remember to do it and 2 exams. Not a difficult class at all and there is plenty of help to be offered. Even though I had him online I actually kind of enjoyed him as a professor, I learned a lot and earned an A.
One assignment a week, the final is hard but make sure you do the homework correctly and on time
Ken is great, really sweet and funny and helpful. He's totally like a dad. His lectures aren't too bad, he's a goofy guy. He usually does what we need to do on assignments in class so take notes! He also puts his lectures online along with many other helpful videos. The assignments get tough but the tests are easier than the assignments
One of the only classes that will actually help your career. The assignments can be tricky.. BUT GO TO THE TA'S. THEY HELP SO MUCH. Don't wait til day of to do it. Midterm was questions out of the book - borrow someone's you don't need your own. If you try, you will get an A. Companies love proficiency in Excel, so commit this to long term memory!
Class isn't too hard as long as you start the assignments ahead of time. He is soooo funny and gives you plenty of extra credit. Tests are slightly tough but the partial credit and study guides mean as long as you study you will get a good grade. Love him. Highly recommend.
Do the assignments! that's where most of your grade comes from! His test are easy if you do the assignments and watch his videos online. I wish I had watch the videos he posts online for the first test but honestly if you do the homework and watch the videos like I said, you will get an A. He's a really great guy too.
If you stay on top of assignments then you will pass easily. It's not as hard as everyone says, just make time for the assignments and go to the help lab every week.
Never went to class. To be completely honest if you are bad at excel you either read the chapter word for word, or pay someone to do the assignments for you.. Not that I condone cheating. The spreadsheets were extremely difficult but Ken and the TA's are all there to help. Get through the assignments and study the chapter Q's for the exams.
This class consists of 9 assignments in Excel and two exams. The assignments are very time consuming but they are doable. As long as you submit the assignments on time and understand the skills on the tests, you will do well. Overall, good class and teacher
He posts lectures which are extremely helpful but excruciatingly long. If you watch them and actually practicestudy, you should do fine on the assignments and exams. He makes the class easy, just time consuming.
No lie, the assignments are way tougher than they have to be but it is definitely do-able. This isn't a class you can wait until the last minute to do the assignments for. The exams are exactly like the assignments so if you can do one you can do the other. Concept questions at the end of chapters are crucial to know.
He loves what he does and he will go out of his way to help you. An amazing teacher and person. I was never skilled with Excel until I took this class. He inspired me and I hope you take him so he can inspire you also
This guy may seem a little odd but, one of the best experiences I've ever had being taught material that was difficult. Took online and when I had trouble I ventured to see him during his office hours. Best decision i made for the class, this guy is the man.
Class is interesting, you get a lot of experience with some of the applications a tools used by individuals in the field. There are two tests and there are several quizzes, and he drops the lowest quiz grade. If you go to class and the office hours you will pass, however if you skip class good luck trying.
Overall this class is pretty easy to get an A if you take your time on the assignments. The midterm was very easy (average grade was 84) and I'm expecting the final to be easy too. The material can be a little difficult at times but if you use the online resources and watch the lecture videos it's all pretty easy.
An easy class if you go to the TA office hours each week to finish the weekly assignments.
Ridiculous homeworks with very confusing assignmments. Instructions are unclear and will take you longer than they need to be. Makes everything harder than it needs to be.
So, I like Excel. I think it is a very useful tool. I took this class just because I needed 3 credits. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. The videos and homework are longer and more complicated than they need be. Awful! still, you have chances to earn extra credit.
Ken Armstrong is a great teacher. He wants you to learn, and he gives you so many resources to do so. His assignments have very clear step-by-step instructions to guide you through processes. He has a great sense of humor and personality, and his classes are very applicable to life and especially business. Highly recommended!
Loved this class, assignments are long and a bit challenging unless you watch the videos/go to the TA's office. Very useful. Easy to get an A if you put in the effort.
Not an easy class but if you do the assignments well and get C's or D's on the tests you can pass.
One of the hardest online classes I've taken but it's doable. I suggest taking this class with a friend to help out with online assignments. There are 9 assignments and each one takes about 3-4 hours and you can knock it out in a day. He post videos to help you with assignments but they don't even relate to the assignment so it's not that helpful
I'm terrible at online classes, and would much rather prefer to sit in a classroom, but this class (being a computer spreadsheets class) wasn't too bad. It's not that easy- although from the start the prof is very clear on his expectations. The class is mainly run by the TAs, who grade and answer your questions on an online forum.
He is very accommodating and the class is fairly easy to understand with one assignment per week
I took Mr. Armstrong's class online but he seems like a very nice guy. He offers butt loads of extra credit and there are plenty of chances to get your grade up. This class is a lot of work, though. But the good news is, if you keep up with your excel projects and understand them, the exams will be relatively easy for you.
Ken Armstrong is a legend, enough said.
Basically there is 1 excel assignment due every week. I'm good at excel so it wasn't that hard. Each one takes 1-3 hours depending on how complex it is. Exams are easy.
I loved this class, there are like 10 assignments and 2 exams, so if you mess up on something your grade won't suffer too much. I never went to class but watched the videos online and looked at the textbook if I needed more help on assignments. One assignment per week that took maybe 5-6 hours. Ken does a lot to help students.
Defiantly my favorite class. People complain about the assignments and their many steps. Ken sent out the syllabus a few days before the first week of class and allowed access to the course in Blackboard so you could get ahead in it (I WOULD RECOMMEND). The class not only teaches you about Excel but time management. Ken and TA were helpful!!
Prof Armstrong is the bomb! He is such a nice guy and really loves excel. This class can be challenging because of the online setting, but he gives you all of the resources you need to understand the material. The assignments are clear and if you have questions, there are a bunch of TA's to help too.
Easy class but very useful. Buy the book if your not an excel pro (youre not, i thought i was too). Homework assignments weekly were pretty easy, extra credit, and exams were right from the book and some homework related material. Ken is also super friendly and very helpful/understanding. 10/10
Awesome professor. I took the online class and I barely tried for this class, but if you actually turn hw in on time, you'll pass the class. Watch the videos, do the hw, do the predetermined extra credit assignments, and get the textbook to study the concept questions and you'll pass. Exams are exactly like the hw + concept questions.
Ken is an awesome teacher and I would recommend this class to anyone! The class is 5 projects and a few quizzes and tests, barely any homework, you can get all of your project work done usually in class if you dont slack off.
Great Professor! He was very specific on what he wanted students to take away from each lecture and as long as you follow the resources he gives you the assignments should not be difficult. I recommend Piazza and TA's for help on assignments and the exams are no challenge as long as you review assignments. Overall the class is easy to get an A in!
I had 850 points one full month before the semester was over which was nice because it meant I didn't have to worry about this class and focus on my other finals. Make sure you finish the assignments as quickly as possible and you'll only have two exams to worry about which weren't that hard.
Extremely easy class and Ken is awesome. However, the directions for the assignments are unnecessarily hard and broad so you never truly know what formula he's referencing to (except for the times he tells you).
Professor Armstrong is one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and their success. He's also super funny and easy to talk to which is good if you need extra help understanding the material. Yes, the class has a lot of assignments but his online lectures make them a lot easier. Would take again!
Amazing professor! Even though I took the class online, Professor Armstrong would constantly send reminders and announcements showing that he cares about his students. Lots of assignments but the quizzes have unlimited tries. TA's and Piazza are super helpful. Tests are easy and he gives a ton of extra credit.
Ken is great Prof! I had him for the Excel class online but it was great to get to know him in the Big Data Class. The class is a very easy class where he covers information and labs on the topic of Big Data which is a very hot topic right now. The class material was very cool but also very easy. Assignments and labs could be completed in class!
I know this will show up on his screen when he checks these so let me say hes the man. Make sure to keep up with your homeworks, he is very helpful when you have any trouble. Tests are mainly based on the books and all the assignments so just study and youll do fine.
Each assignment has clear instructions and Armstrong provides videos for each lesson and responds very quickly to any questions. There is also the Piazza forum where students and instructors help each other on the assignments to make them easier. Quizzes are extremely easy and can be taken as many times until deadline. 2 tests (including final)
I am a Junior at FSU and Prof Armstrong is the best professor I have had. He gives very clear expectations, lots of extra credit opportunities, and his tests are much easier than the homework assignments. 30% of the test comes directly from questions found at the back of the chapters, word for word. I love Ken, I would recommend him to anyone
Do the assignment, even lets you turn them in late. Really really nice guy
THE GOAT!
One of the best teachers at FSU, not hard at all to get an A especially if you take with friends. He is always making himself available to students and tries to make the class lighthearted and fun
2 tests the whole year, rest of grade was based off of homework and quizzes. Textbook was only used to study for the two tests. Taken online so lectures were easy to access and he made everything clear and easy to follow despite not being with us in person.
Literally got a 99.8% in this class. So much extra credit, multiple attempts on assignments, + only 2 tests all year. And a plus is that this class is genuinely useful. Dr. Armstrong genuinely cares about his students and gives credit where its due. Assignments take awhile to finish, but they aren't hard. Online forum for students is so helpful
The course overall is tedious, filled with lots of assignments but he makes it interesting and is super helpful (lots of office hours to help you out with if needed). Test study guides are somewhat vague, but if you go over old assignments you should get an A, especially because he gives lots of partial credit on them!!
If you can help it, DON'T skip class on lab days; this is when you'll learn how to do the assignments. Professor Armstrong is extremely helpful when it comes to walking you through how to do the assignments if you have any questions. Exams are easy because questions come directly from the assigned quizzes.
Dr. Armstrongs class is extremely easy to get an A. the class consists of 2 tests, and a homework and a quiz per week. the assignments take a while but are graded fairly easy. you can get an A on the tests just by doing the homework as practice. def take for cgs2518
Although his lectures are pretty boring and his voice is monotone they are key to understanding how to do the assignments. You have to watch them to know what you are doing for homework and the exam. I got over a 100 in the class because of this. Pay attention, if you watch the videos and do good on homework you will get an A on exams and class.
Its an easy class with a quiz & assignment due once a week. He's a nice teacher and helps whenever you ask. I take the online portion and I only put in about 1-2 hours per assignment. Start studying about a week before the exams and you should do fine, questions are taken from the ends of chapters (only time textbook was used) & then a spreadsheet.
I've had Ken for CGS2518, ISM4113, and ISM3540 and he as been equally as great in all three. He sets clear expectations and is always willing to help. For ISM3540, questions for exams come from the quizzes and all the labs are thoroughly explained in class. 100% recommend taking him for any course.
Ken is honestly one of my favorite professors ever at FSU, I've had him twice now and still have one or two classes to go with him. His expectations for his classes are always very clear. Super nice guy, always willing to help but wants you to actually learn how to do things. No textbook, always puts lectures online, loves his material. Great guy.
Armstrong is super nice and holds weekly office hours where he'll literally sit down with you and walk you through the spreadsheets. He makes this class easy to follow but don't take advantage of it and think this class is a piece of cake, you still have to put in effort.
Great teacher who really does want you to learn the material. Lots of homework and very time consuming assignments every week but the information is valuable. Difficult for everyone to get through unless you have a comp sci background. Sends tons of long announcements and can be somewhat overwhelming. Try and get a head start in the beginning
Taken online this class has weekly quizzes and assignments which are very easy if you just watch the videos he posts and follow the instructions. He is an amazing professor and really cares about his students and their performance. I asked him one question and took time out of his day when he didn't need to in order to help me. 100% recommend him
He gives some extra credit which is nice. Alot of people will tell you cgs2518 is easy but it's not. Watch the videos!! Also, piazza is your best friend. He will respond to your emails quickly and works with you to find time for office hours. Very nice and helpful but the class is a loooot of work. Each assignment takes me 4-6 hours no joke
Piazza is your best friend for this class. Although he does pot videos explaining how to do everything, they can be pretty long. He offers lots of extra credit though, so utilize those opportunities!!
Ken Armstrong is a solid professor. If you are decently computer literate, this class should not be tough for you. There is about 2-4 hours of work each week, but I think that very reasonable. Ken is very clear on his expectations and I am trying to take him again for future classes.
This class requires about 2-5 hours of work per week depending on the assignments but Professor Armstrong wants all of his students to do well and is always open to help. He emails back consistently and makes sure that problems are resolved. Though it can be a difficult class, a good teacher really makes a difference.
Armstrong is very clear with assignments and gives great instruction. Easy A. Goid amount of extra credit
This class is really easy if you use piazza, and take advantage of all the extra credit he provides over the semester!
I'm really bad with computers, and got an A. I'd suggest doing the assignments in groups, because they're pretty brutal. He gives a lot of extra credit, and the second exam was pretty easy. He's a super nice guy, really wish I never took CGS 2100 and just jumped into 2518.
This class is fairly easy and very straightforward. Armstrong goes through everything youll need to know for the class. The homework is MUCH harder than the exams.
Very straightforward class. Provides you with everything you need to understand and complete assignments which take a lot longer than the exams. Also gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it.
Pretty easy class as long as you do the work. Armstrong provides a ton of short videos that demonstrate how to do every concept. He also gives a good amount of extra credit, I ended the class with over 100%.
Great Professor! Weekly quizzes and assignments that have clear instructions and quizzes can be taken until you get a 100 and assignments through IT lab are 3 times and assignments through canvas are 1 time. The lectures literally show you what to do on the quizzes and assignments so you should be able to get 100s. No final just Two exams (easy).
Overall greatly enjoyed the class, very clear expectations. Lectures are youtube videos broken into levels of difficulty. Textbook is required for online assignments, but the readings weren't super needed. Having a basic knowledge of Excel prior is excellent, but don't worry if you don't. He has plenty of support available outside of class. Amazing
This class really isn't too bad but get ready to work. An assignment due every week that typically took me 2-6 hours to complete. He provides videos that are very similar to working out assignments and offers lots of extra credit. Exams were way easier than the assignments. EASY class, just LOTS OF WORK. Also, use campus wire it really helps
Ugh my favorite professor to date. He posts the most helpful videos, quick to respond to emails, and makes the class interesting. I loved this class.
Ken WANTS you to get an A. Make sure to turn everything in on time and you should be fine. Quizzes and assignments graded online should be easy A's. The ones grades by the TA will take much longer but not too bad. He literally gives the questions for multiple choice on the exams, so take advantage. Exams are easy compared to the assignments.
Ken is an overall great person and great teacher. His class is definitely not an "easy A," even though he isn't test heavy. There are 3 tests that aren't too hard but there is a semester long group project that was actually fun. Ken has a ton of experience in his field, is well connected, and has a kind heart. One of the best professors in the CoB.
Good teacher except his online lectures are about an hour long each. They can get pretty boring pretty fast. You have 2-3 assignments due each week so be prepared to spend time doing them. Does give you extra credit on midterm and final. But no real study guide.
I am horrible at excel but Professor Armstrong was very helpful. The assignments are time consuming so expect to spend hours each week working on them. Professor Armstrong always responded to my emails fast and would help me through all my questions. There is a lot of extra credit which saved me. Exams are much easier than assignments, rematch vids
Armstrong is the man. Took the class online and it did take a decent amount of work. Weekly assignments and quizzes that took around 4 hours to complete per week. Not an extremely easy A but Armstrong made the material simple to understand and practical to use in the future. I can honestly say I learned information that Ill use again in the future
Ken is a really genuine professor. He truly wants you to succeed. Weekly quizzes/assignments. The work can get tricky, I would recommend finding a study buddy to complete assignments. Lot of extra credit !!!
Let me just say that I got a job in my field (double major acctg&finance) ALL BECAUSE of the skills I learned in this class. Prof Armstrong is very GRACIOUS. I admit I slacked off a LITTLE and missed one or two quizzes&hws but bc of the extra credit I still got an A in the end. Don't slack off, learn the material, and u'll find a great job.
He is such a kind, caring person and an amazing professor. I am horrible with computers but his step by step instructions could not be more thorough. Excel is tough but he makes the videos enjoyable by making jokes and not dragging them on too long. He is clearly passionate about what he does, and truly cares about the success of his students.
Ken is amazing!! His video lectures are really informative and he makes a lot of corny jokes. He really cares about his students. My advisor warned me against taking this without any background in Excel, but you don't need it at all, as the class starts with basics. Just watch all the videos and use campuswire and you'll do great!!
Mr. Armstrong is a heck of a guy! Make sure to keep up with all the homework and quizzes and you'll do well on the tests. The test are generally easier than the homework. He really cares for every student and wants them to succeed in the class. I can tell you with confidence that the skills you're learning will help you in whatever field you choose
Ken is the best!!! He gives you everything you need to know all year and you learn stuff youll really use. Great prof if you work a lil bit its an easy A
Ken truly cares about his students their futures. He makes what can seem to be a foreign language (Excel) into something easily understandable and interesting. I wish he taught more courses because I would love to have him as professor again during my college career. Awesome guy!
Although he does give extra credit on his exams, the assignments and quizzes are very hard if you do not watch the videos. The videos are very time consuming and the assignments/quizzes take 3+ hours to do if you do them properly. DO NOT wait an hour before the assignment is due because you will not get it done!!
Two words: quality dude.
Ken is honestly a real GEM. What a quirky guy... I mean you'll understand what I'm saying when you listen to his lectures (2x speed). As for the course, an easy A. You really just have to put a tad bit of effort the achieve this. If you have any problems, take it up to Ken and he'll get you situated.
Great professor. Definitely cares about his students' success. My only complaint is that he is very hard to reach on campuswire and if you have a question you could be stuck waiting for hours...
Professor Armstrong is such a nice guy. His class wasn't the hardest but if you struggle at all his office hours are very helpful. All of the information is accessible online but if you need any help he is quick to respond and always willing to show you how to do things if you don't understand.
I took cgs2518 online with prof. Armstrong and enjoyed it. You will usually have an assignment due every Tuesday which can take most of an afternoon to complete. Total of two exams, which have two parts, 1st part is multiple choice questions that come straight from the book. 2nd part is very similar to HW assignments, which is working with excel.
Easy easy A and gives tons of extra credit. Super nice guy who is always willing to help. There are extra credit qs on the exams. I got a C & D on the 2 exams but did good on hw, got extra credit, and ended with a 97%. There are lots of quizzes & assignments but you can ask other students for help online(asking & answering qs get you extra credit!)
The MyLab stinks and he really doesnt care
Excel is like learning a foreign language, but Ken really breaks it down and gives you plenty of opportunities. The assignments can be tough and time consuming, but campuswire will help. He practically tells you what will be on the exam, and gives plenty of EC. He is a caring prof and wants you to be successful. Would recommend his class to anyone.
Dude gives so much extra credit throughout the semester it's fantastic. You'll use something called campuswire where every student can ask and answer questions that helps so much. Assigments can be time-consuming but they are the most challenging part of the class by far. Exams are easy compared to the assignments. Easy passing grade.
MyLab system is terrible. Likes to make things more difficult than they need to be.
Easy class. So much extra credit. Ken is awesome!!
Ken is great. You learn a lot. He really does care. Tons of Extra Credit.
The BEST Professor at FSU by far. He is so incredibly caring to his students and always gives great feedback on assignments. He is always willing to help. His class is not hard at all if you do the simulations and assignments, and you will learn so much about Excel in his course. Take his class!!! 10/10
Prof. Armstrong is great! Make sure to watch his videos and use Campuswire. There's also lots of opportunity for extra credit. Easy to get an A as long as you do the assignments on time and know what you're doing. Don't wait till the last minute. Exams are also easier than the assignments. This is definitely a helpful class for any major.
Gives lots of extra credit and is hilarious. Only complaints are that his assignments can be worded in a confusing manner and he will blow up your email with messages. Utilize CampusWire to make the assignments 10x easier. Highly recommend!
Ken is probably the nicest professor I've had so far. But this course was one of the hardest I have taken so far. If you are not that advanced in Excel, be prepared to work. Excel assignments are 50% of the grade for the semester. Ken will help you if you reach out and show effort. Amazing professor
He tries to scare you the first week by saying the class will be difficult, but it was incredibly easy. You're given multiple attempts to submit assignments and are told what you need to fix, exams are way easier than homework, and if you need any help its easy to contact him or the TAs for assistance.
The assignments can be hard but most of them are on mylab which tells you what you did wrong. Campuswire can help answer your questions. Ken gives so much extra credit it would be hard to not get an A. The exams are way easier than the assignments.
Prof Armstrong is not only a great professor, but a great guy as well. Has his lectures split up in chunks to make is easier to watch, and the assignments are fairly easy. The assignments are time consuming but are not hard. He gives plenty of extra credit, so realistically no one should be failing his class.
Prof Armstrong has taught me so much about excel and its practical use in business and finance. If you take his class, get the campus wire group package he provides. Make sure you know how to solve all excel problems and study quizlets for the tests and you will be fine. Not hard, just don't fall behind.
My favorite class and professor so far at FSU! Hilarious guy and the class was pretty much an easy A! I took it in Summer 2020 and it was fully asynchronous. I wish that I had been able to take it in person because he has a great personality and seems to be a genuine guy who is very relatable and makes the material easy to learn.
Professor Armstrong is hands down the best professor I've ever had. He was willing almost any day outside of his usual office hours when I couldn't make them. If you watch the lectures and review before exams, you'll do fine. Also the most real-life-application class I've taken and I still use these skills today.
Really useful class and good professor! His lectures can feel a bit lengthy but they are useful. There is a weekly quiz and weekly assignment and 2 tests. All are fairly easy and him and his TA's have plenty of office hours and he makes a few walkthrough videos where he shows you what to do.
By far one of the best professors Ive had. Assignments can be lengthy but you are actually learning with everything you do. Course load and exams are manageable and the recorded lectures are really helpful.
Professor Armstrong is one of the most caring and funny professors I've ever had! He always lets you know what information you need for exams/assignments, and there's even walkthroughs for quizzes. There's also a lot of TAs that help too.
Prof Armstrong makes everything easy to understand and offers a lot of extra credit. The quizzes had walk through videos and his lectures matched up with the assignments. There was a class discussion board that everyone uses to ask questions and help each other out. Would definitely recommend.
Overall really good guy - had no problem giving me an extension on the final exam after some health problems. Gives lots of extra credit which helped me keep my A. I am pretty good at excel so this class wasn't too challenging but I know it can be difficult if this is your first time using excel. Don't even think about cheating.. he will find out
Extra credit is HUGE, take advantage. Ken is everything you expect out of a great professor: tough but kind, willing to help out, flexible, and super understanding. He goes out of his way to make sure everybody has the best chances to do well(even post-semester, he's worked to get Excel certifications funded for over 400 hard-working students).
As long as you put in some effort Ken will help you pass. Make sure you do the extra credit! Assignments may take a while but they really help you get a better understanding of how to use excel. Overall, I highly recommend taking this course with Ken.
100% recommend taking this class with him! The hardest part about the class was literally watching the tutorial videos and that wasn't bad at all. He is a great teacher and is always willing to help!
Ken Armstrong is definitely one of the best professors I've had so far at FSU! He is super helpful and the class isn't hard if you watch his videos. I had technical difficulties during an exam and he let me call him for us to fix through it! Do the extra credit, since there is so much to help your grade. Definitely get the campuswire!!
Where do I start, Mr. Armstrong assigns two assignments a week one being a quiz. His assignments are over the top difficult with the majority of his students struggling to submit by the deadline. His assignments are the hardest things i have ever done with them taking on average 3-5 hours. It feels like once you finish one the next is due. avoid
Armstrong is an entertaining teacher and the class is not hard. Be prepared to watch videos and study, but it's Excel so once you practice, you know it. VERY easy for CS majors that have taken CS classes before. If you haven't, you will be fine as long as you practice. Excel is very visual.
Best. professor. ever. Keeps his students engaged in his lectures, and is always there to help. Learned more in this class than any other class I've ever taken. I seriously recommend this class to everyone!
Ken Armstrong is the most caring college professor I've encountered. There is work to do but you know about it well in advance and he gives very specific instructions. The way canvas grading is set up is a little confusing, but everything else is 100%.
Armstrong is one of the best professors at FSU. Super considerate and helpful about problems that students are having and responds to emails quick. The class itself is a lot of work and it does feel like you're constantly doing work for it, but he provides you with resources to succeed if you use them. Lots of extra credit
Honestly the best. The class can seem like a lot of work with two assignments a week, but he makes sure you have tons of resources to help you do well. You learn so much in this class that is actually applicable to the real world. He even cares enough to help us earn our Excel certification. Overall a genuinely great person and a great class.
Armstrong is the best professor I've had. 1 quiz & 1 assignment due each week. The assignments take 2-4 hours depending on how in-depth they are. Get Campuswire. If you do the work correctly and on time, you will get an A. TAs are great and have lots of office hours for help - use it! Class is set up for you to be successful and learn Excel skills.
The best professor I've had at FSU so far. 1 quiz and 1 assignment due every week with lots of explanatory videos to teach you how to do each step. TONS of extra credit opportunities and very easy to learn the material. Office hours & Campuswire are a huge help so be sure to get those! As long as you put effort in, you'll easily earn an A.
Ended up with 103 with the extra credit. Assignments take up a maximum of maybe 4 hours a week, especially with Campuswire. Without that, it would take a lot longer. -25/200 for late test is rather good compared to other professors. Quizzes take 1/2 an hour each week and tests are cake. Learned quite a lot about excel in the process :)
He doesn't give difficult work for the class. Sign up for camouswire and you should be good. He is great at helping and even rounded up my B to a B+ without me saying anything. Great guy and teacher, would recommend.
ken is an amazing guy and i only have good things to say about him. helped me through a rough time & cares abt his students. i was not, however, prepared for how long each assignment would take me. mac users beware, & avoid v-lab at all costs; i lost assignments that took me hours to do when the site would crash. use campuswire!!! tons of EC !!
Dr. Armstrong was caring and taught me a lot about Excel. The assignments are clear cut and applicable to the real world
Professor Armstrong truly is an amazing professor! He provides many resources in order to help his students be successful and is incredibly caring and accommodating. The knowledge that I have from his class definitely is also applicable to the real world and in the workforce. Overall, I highly recommend Professor Armstrong's course a great deal.
This class was a crazy amount of work, but he provides great lectures to help you through the assignments and quizzes. There are only two Exams. There was a quiz and assignment do every week but he gave us PLENTY of extra credit. I highly recommend this professor, but make sure you set enough time aside each week for this class!
Consists of weekly quizzes and assignments as well as two exams. Assignments usually take a couple of hours with some being more tedious than others, and Ken has videos that help you with the quizzes step by step. He tells you what is on both exams. Lots of extra credit! Super easy class as long as you stay on top of lectures and due dates.
Ken Armstrong is an amazing professor. His expectations are clear and the assignments are easy to follow. It is a time consuming course but if you're willing to put in the effort it's manageable. Professor Armstrong was quick to respond to any questions and accommodated to my circumstances during an unexpected life event. I would highly recommend.
Absolutely loved Professor Armstrong this summer, he was a real cool dude who was so helpful in office hours. He even changed my grade on an assignment once because I went to him for help about it. Watch the videos and you'll do fine, just don't fall behind on work or you'll be overwhelmed. Seriously one of the best professors, my favorite for sure
Great online learning experience. The videos he post are even funny sometimes so he doesnt make excel seem boring. Do all the assignments and study up on formulas you are not familiar with before exams and you should be fine.
Such a funny and kind professor. He gives tons and tons of extra credit opportunities and clearly wants his students to truly learn the material. This class isn't challenging, but definitely pay attention and you'll earn a good grade. He actually made me interested in excel and I looked forward to watching his lectures
Great professor. Cares about what he is teaching and cares about you as a student. Gives so much extra credit so do it!!!! Brought my grade up a ton just by doing extra credit. Definitely take Ken Armstrong as a professor.
Armstrong is a nice guy and really tries to make this class worth it. I believe this has been the most valuable course I have taken during my time at FSU. This class does take up a lot of time but completing each assignment felt rewarding and refreshing. Take this class! You will not regret it!
Truly cares, groupme helps so much. Goodluck.
no final, no midterm. gives lots of extra credit opportunities and you can tell he is passionate about what he is teaching.
This class is super useful in real world. I would turn things in weeks late and still get credit. Don't do that unless you really need to though because I ended up having to do all the extra credit to bring my grade up to an A. Either way, a really easy class but with long lectures and tedious assignments.
super nice, and lots of extra credit. 10 attempts on the quizzes and 2 on the canvas assignments. 2 exams that dont weigh a lot. he is so nice and always wanting to help you.
Professor Armstrong is a funny guy that makes learning about Excel fun. The course relies on assignments (use Campuswire for help) and quizzes (he has walkthrough videos for these). If you pass an optional excel certification you get extra credit. Some assignments in the class are very challenging but using resources make getting an A very possible
Prof. Armstrong is fabulous, and this is the first class Ive taken where I actually learned something useful. The class is 100% online, there are a lot of assignments/quizzes that are extremely time consuming, but he gives you every resource possible to get an A. Also gives out a lot of extra credit.
Prof. Armstrong is a great professor he knows what he's talking about. Armstrong offered multipliable attempts on assignments and quizzes. His exams are tricky because they are closed note so study for them.
Ken cares for his students and wants everyone to do well. The mentors give really good feedback and he has a lot of resources for you to ask questions. However, the class is definitely not for the faint of heart at first. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't that bad. You don't need to watch the videos unless you get stuck on an assignment
Phenomenal teacher. Highly recommend. If you are interested in the content, you will love his class as he gives assignments that are actually relevant to the professional world.
You have to watch 3-5 hours of videos a week then do two assignments a week, one he walks you through another you do yourself it takes 1-2 hrs. He gives exam reviews and the exams are fairly easy, He is a very understanding professor, and the class is overall fairly easy, he offers some extra credit, but the assignments are the only downfall.
Professor Armstrong is a great professor and I highly recommend him. He gave me over a letter grade of extra credit and I got my excel certification through this course. I was very nervous going into this course because i'm terrible with technology, but his videos were very educational, funny, and helped me a ton getting through this course.
This class can be intimidating because of the projects but they aren't that bad. Got As on every assignment because I went to office hours and they were very helpful in helping me do them if I was confused. Professor Armstrong is so nice and wants to help all of his students. Exams are based off the assignments and not too bad. 10/10
While the material in this course is difficult, Professor Armstrong truly wants you to succeed. I have never had a professor who goes as out of his way to help his students as Professor Armstrong. If you watch the lectures and take advantage of the many extra credit opportunities, you can get an A.
Professor Armstrong was awesome! He gave a lot of extra credit and his youtube videos are easy to understand. We had 10 modules, each module you had an assignment and a quiz. He gave us a quiz walkthrough, which help a lot. If you see the videos and do the assignments you will be fine. Time consuming class but very easy, in my opinion.
Ken Armstrong has to be one of the best professors I've ever had. I'm not the best with Excel but he explains each topic so well. Even though the class is online, there is always someone available for office hours if you need help. I've learned so much from this class that has prepared me for the future. Extra credit is offered so take advantage.
Prof Armstrong is amazing! This guy makes a class with boring content bearable. He gives tons of extra credit so you would have to try really hard to fail. The assignments can be tricky but office hours are super helpful. Great class!
One of my favorite classes at FSU. Armstrong gives seriously so much extra credit and he truly wants his students to succeed. His lecture videos are clear and helpful. Assignments and quizzes may be tedious but they're not terribly hard.
Love KEN! Use Yellowdig for the extra credit and make sure you take the Excel exam it's a lot easier than some homework assignments and the extra credit comes in clutch. Some assignments are hard but get in contact with Darth Maul on GroupMe and you'll be set!
Two assignments a week, the first is easy to get 10/10 everytime with walkthrough videos. The other assignments are challenging and take hours of work. Tests are beyond hard but you only need to average a 55% on both of them to get a B- providing you get A's on all assignments (attainable). Gives xcredit. Directions are unclear, videos kinda help
This is not a tough class at all as long as you pay attention to his lecture videos. The assignments may take a while at times, however, most of them are straight forward and workable. This is one of the only classes where I can say I was truly taught an extremely useful skill! I plan to go for my excel certification soon!
Dr. Armstrong was great. He provided plenty of resources and the assignments actually helped you learn the material. As long as you watch the lectures and take a few notes this class should be pretty easy and even though some assignments can be complicated, you get multiple attempts so you can make corrections.
Professor Armstrong's video lectures were extraordinarily beneficial. He is very responsive and dedicates time to each of the nearly 300 students in his course.
Professor Armstrong goes above and beyond for all his students. His lectures are very helpful for the homework he assigns, and he makes a difficult class enjoyable. There are plenty of extra credit assignments offered throughout the semester. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
Ken makes this class was pretty easy if you're looking for an easy elective for mis or the analytics minor. Pretty much gives you step by step instructions for each assignment and cared a lot about students doing well in his class
Lectures and assignments were very helpful at explaining the step-by-step process of everything. Keeps good contact with students and responds quickly to concerns. My TA emailed me to retake an exam but after 3 weeks of not emailing me back I went to Ken's office hours and he had me set back up for the retake in 15 minutes. Super helpful professor!
This is one of the best classes I've ever taken. I learned many useful skills, and Ken's lectures are amazing! There is a quiz (which he has videos completing) and an assignment due each week. Some assignments are difficult, but the lectures, office hours, and help forum are available. Two exams worth 20% each, and are just like the assignments.
The material is really helpful and applicable to real life scenarios/jobs. Extra credit shoots your grade up a ton (~6.5 points for me) before the final. Just be consistent with the weekly hw and quizzes, use YellowDig AND GroupMe (it carries you),study for the finals and you'll definitely pass. Ken's also really caring and easy to reach out to.
If you are not ALREADY familiar with Excel and accounting techniques, DO NOT take this class until you are at a minimum of an intermediate level with both. It's not the professor that will cause you to become frustrated; he is just a messenger who moves quickly because the material is intense and there is honestly too much for one class.
it was an online course so its kind of hard to accurately grade but overall it is a difficult class. You have to learn the material based off his videos which take forever. You have to do 2 assignments which take multiple hours. The things you learn however are very useful. Wish it wasn't online.
Easy class, but instructions for assignments in canvas are often vague. Lecture videos are what you're supposed to use to learn course content, but the professor speaks at around 10 wpm so get ready to sit and wait through 10 minutes for 2 steps.
Prof Armstrong was amazing. the class could be confusing at times but it was honestly not that bad. he is extremely lenient and works with you no matter the issues. the class gets easier as it goes and he makes it super easy to follow.
All hail Zeus, Excel god-king
Most of the COB courses are a waste of time and busy work, but this one actually helped me for my future career. I am now Excel certified, which can be easily done after learning the material taught! There is a lot of homework - but it is worth it. He gives so much extra credit, it is hard to fail this class unless you don't put in the time.
Great professor. Class teaches you a lot of practical skills. You definitely have to put in the work and learn the material or you're going to have a really hard time on the assignments and exams. Prof. Armstrong makes it really easy to follow though so just put in a little effort and it is an easy A.
Loved this class! There is an assignment due every week that takes a few hours but overall not bad. Gives an insane amount of extra credit. Even if you get in the 70s on both exams but do all the extra credit you will get an A. Watch the videos and actually pay attention and you will learn A LOT!
Prof Armstrong has step by step guidelines for getting started in each lesson. If you follow those and learn the way to navigate Microsoft Excel then you'll do well. There is an assignment every week that takes a few hours to complete, but that coupled with a weekly quiz is the entirety of the course. Overall not a hard course, just takes some time.
Ken Armstrong is an AMAZING professor. One of the best at FSU. He is so kind and genuinely wants to help his students. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine. His assignments are very helpful to learn Excel which is an essential skill in the business world. Would 10000% take this class again.
This man does not explain any assignment thoroughly and makes his TAs do all his work. Even after watching the videos, the assignments require the mental fortitude of a Tibetan monk as well as the problem solving skills of a world champion chess player, then you just may be able to complete one of his assignments and comprehend it in the slightest!
His online lectures which are the "key" to passing the classes are so monotone and boring. I wish there was a Skoolers version of this class, I cannot absorb what he says in the videos when he explains things. If he could teach us the stuff we are actually getting graded on that would be great.
he makes a difficult class much less difficult. the assignments are tedious and require a few hours a week of work, but he offers a lot of extra credit to build your grade. his late work policy is extremely fair, and the class has taught me a lot. he is very caring about his students and wants them to succeed.
Sweet professor who tries to make his class enjoy lectures by including jokes/his dog. He simplifies concepts, and videos are broken into 5-10 minute bits to make them easily watchable. Multiple attempts on all quizzes/most assignments. Exams are just like practice problems he does in the video lectures
Class was definitely tough but that is not Ken's fault. You can clearly see he cares and he wants his students to get an A and helps the students that put in the work get there. Plenty of extra credit opportunities, available outside of class, and allows late turn in's on HW for 10% off per day. Cannot recommend him enough.
The work itself is not hard just tedious. Theres a chunk of videos you have to watch each week teaching that chapters excel functions and then a quiz due every Friday and assignment every Tuesday. Every-other week the assignment is canvas only so you have to build a spreadsheet according to the instructions and its only one try. 2 honor lock exams.
Best professor, so much extra credit!!! Clear grading policies. One quiz and one assignment per week. Expect to spend 3 hours ish completing both. Two honor lock exams for the whole semester. Try to do really well on the first one, as the second one is a bit harder. I would for sure take this class again and any other classes with him!
This was a very easy class overall. Each week there is two graded assignments that take a while to complete but he posts videos that help with them. He offers so much extra credit and really wants his students to succeed. So if you can keep up with the weekly assignments the class should be no problem.
This class is very straightforward. Ken gives you everything you need to succeed and has a good sense of humor. There is one smaller assignment and one larger assignment each week which are not difficult if you watch all the lectures. This combined with all of his extra credit makes this a great class to take.
Fun professor! He includes his dog in his videos and sometimes in the assignments. Learning is all through his videos, and then you'll have 2 assignments a week. The work might be time consuming, but you get a few attempts for most of them, so it should be easy to get a good grade. You mainly talk to TAs instead of the Professor doe.
I took this class online over the summer and it was challenging but in a way that gives you a sense of achievement once you figure something out. Ken is one of those guys that really does want to see his students succeed and will set up plenty of ways to help. He also offers SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT! I highly recommend this class and Ken to anyone.
I got a 112% in this class. Easy summer class, so much extra credit through yellowdig. The HW every Friday is free points, you watch a video and he does it for you. The weekly projects are time consuming and make sure to go to office hours with the TAs they will tell you what is correct and wrong. The exams are easy, don't be scared of this class
Although the homework itself was time-consuming and sometimes quite difficult, Professor Armstrong was a fantastic professor and honestly seems like a great person inside and outside of his job. He does everything in his power to keep spreadsheets interesting and actually does a great job at it.
The kind of professor that genuinely wants his students to succeed and come out with real-life knowledge. Came into the course with no previous excel skills so it felt a little fast paced but there are so many extra credit opportunities that it didn't hurt my grade at all. Make sure to start the assignments early because they are time consuming
Professor Armstrong is super considerate and you can tell that he wants his students to succeed! His lectures are detailed and thorough. He gives out TONS of extra credit so you don't have to stress too much about keeping a C or higher in the class. I studied for his exams by rewatching his lecture videos and redoing past assignments. Good luck! :)
The exams are pretty hard but there are only two exams for the whole year. You can get a C on both and still end the class with a A+ as long as you do all the extra credit. If you are struggling on the assignments or quizzes you can literally just go to his office hours and he will help you with it. Assignments do take a while to do though.
Funny dude. Class was easy as long as you watched the videos; there's also a great help forum that he promotes for the class. Lots of extra credit, and the TA office hours were super helpful when I got stuck. I truly learned a lot here too.
Such an amazing professor. He is kind and motivational towards his students! A lot of extra credit opportunities are given out. Content was amazing; it made me learn a lot and ENJOY learning a lot. Great lectures that apply real-world context to problems. I would definitely recommend Prof. Armstrong to anyone!
Professor Armstrong is a great professor and I learned so much from him in cgs2518. The course material is difficult but his lectures explain it in a way that make sense. The assignments take 1-3 hours each and can be really frustrating but his lectures help so much and will actually help you in the future. It's a hard class but doable if you try.
Professor Armstrong is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is caring and he makes Excel very entertaining. The class itself is a lot of homework and the material can be somewhat confusing/complicated, but he gives so much extra credit is almost impossible to fail. Take him for this class as he is very good and knowledgeable.
Armstrong is a great proffesor. He is very passionate about excel and offers lots of extra credit! Skills learned in this class with 100% be useful in the future and although the assignemnts can be long they allow you to throughouly learn the material. Armstrong cares a lot about his students and is a very nice guy.
Do not underestimate the workload and time commitment this class requires. The weekly assignments would take hours to complete and often make me cry from frustration. But I learned so much. I feel confident in my Excel skills. Plus, there is a ton of extra credit, which helps offset the challenging assignments.
Ken was one of my favorite professors I've taken so far, he cares so much about his students and tries to make this course fun! He prepares you with all the resources you need. The assignments are lengthy and a little difficult, but he gives out so much extra credit that I ended up with above a 100 in the class. We need more professors like Ken!!
Pr. Armstrong is a great professor, he gave tons of extra credit and funny lectures. Great Professor hope I take him again!
Ken was amazing. By far my easiest class as well as my most enjoyable. Its an Excel learning course and it was not only worth taking, but it was easy to understand and complete. Ended up getting a 112 with all of the extra credit he gave.
He makes understanding Excel fun and easy! The content on the 2 exams is super clear.
Class is time consuming but he gives sooo much extra credit
This class isn't that difficult and has 2 exams, just 1 quiz that takes around 45 a week and one assignment that can take between 1-3 hours. Exams aren't that difficult if you just do the assignments every week and understand them. Ken is also a great online professor which I feel is very rare.
One of the best professors Ive had so far at fsu. This class taught me so much for future internships/jobs. I would have never taken the time to learn excel functions or care to and this class completely changed that. Ive come to really like spreadsheets and what all i can do with them. He is very clear with extra credit, assingments, and exams!!
The kindest professor ever. This class was very valuable to me and I got Excel Certified thanks to Mr. Armstrong, which helped me get an internship.
I was able to end with a 102 in his class. He gives loads of extra credit where even if you fail exams you can definitely still pass. Whole class is 2 exams and one assignment and quiz weekly. A little hard but it is useful things you can apply to the real world. Such a kind soul love him and his dog.
There are a lot of homework assignments. It may seem easy to get lost or stuck but there are plenty of resources to look at, including walkthrough videos and YellowDig. He loves to talk about his dog Zeus which is very sweet. He offers the ability to take an Excel certification exam which I highly recommend. Bumped my grade from a B to a high A.
Don't worry about this class; 125 extra credit points. Do well on the first exam because the second one is harder. Do the excel certification for 40 points and for resume. Weekly quizzes are easy with walkthroughs, but weekly assignments are tough (2-3 hours). I ended with a 102 and I got a C on the second exam. Useful class and nice professor!
Amazing professor! He made working in Excel fun. If you even have a question he is quick to respond by email.
Prof. Armstrong is an amazing professor who gives so many opportunities for students to get an A, I got an A and did not do well at all on the final and midterm and also am pretty bad with excel. If you try your best and study for the excel certification you will get a good grade. so so much extra credit
Best professor on the planet. Most caring nicest guy possible. Just do what is required, truthfully the best professor you could have
Professor Armstrong makes Excel fun and engaging. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and the Excel certification is a huge plus for your resume. unstuckstudy was really helpful for nailing the weekly assignments.
Professor Armstrong offers a really good amount of extra credit opportunities and is very involved in this class even though it is online. He is a very good guy and I definitely recommend taking this class.
Ken is the best professor in the MIS major and perhaps in the whole College of Business. He is extremely smart and makes his lectures engaging and fun. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and wants every student to succeed. He gives great feedback and will help you with anything, even if it is not related to the course.
LOTS of extra credit and extremely straightforward exams. Homework is just time-consuming. You genuinely have to be incompetent to get below an A.
He is awesome!! His videos are always super helpful, and they are quick they never drag on too long. Exams are not horrible and he gives a lot of partial credit. He also has a cute dog.
Good prof and good guy. The homework is a bit challenging but not bad at all, just time consuming. Exams are wayyyy easier than assignments, and he gives you the exact questions that will be on the exams beforehand. TONS of extra credit. I haven't had below an A+ the entire semester, and you would actively have to try to fail to get below an A.
Amazing professor. The assignments are time consuming but not too difficult. He is very helpful and there is lots of extra credit opportunity
This class was absolutely amazing at teaching me about Microsoft Excel. This class can be difficult, but my advice is develop a good relationship with the professor and pay attention to every video. I am not a natural at Excel by any means, but the professor always loved to help. He's a great guy who really wanted to help his students succeed.
The assignments and quizzes are easy especially when using his guided videos and Yellowdig site. The exams are easy if you do all the assignments and quizzes well. I never studied anything in this course and assignments aren't overwhelming. chill professor 10/10
Ken Armstrong is an amazing professor. I will say that most of the assignments are time-consuming and can be a bit frustrating, but if you watch his videos and put the time and effort into them, you will succeed. He also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities to make up for the long assignments.
Amazing professor and class. Enough said. HIGHLY recommend.
Ken the goat
Really nice guy. Knows how to use Canvas! Extra credit! Gives helpful words in the announcements. Promotes a website that helps with assignments. A few exams, but there are practice tests. Super time consuming but if you watch the videos and put the work in, you will be fine, especially since he sometimes posts walkthrough videos.
Hes very chill and the assignments aren't super hard. The exam review is sooooo helpful and shows you everything.
Has walkthroughs for most of the assignments and tons of extra credit.
Amazing professor who gives an insane amount of extra credit. He somehow makes Excel lectures interesting and always makes sure to include his dog Zeus. I plan on taking more of his courses in the future. Also make sure that you take the Excel Certification exam for even more extra credit and to have something to add to your resume.
Take advantage of extra credit opportunities and keep up with his lectures for each unit. Weekly assignments can take 2-3 hours, but he demonstrates certain steps in lecture videos. A little hint: Use office hours to your advantage. Use them to get unstuck on a task or ask him to look over parts of your spreadsheet before submitting.
Armstrong is great! Super communicative which is appreciated with online courses. Offers a ton of extra credit and the work itself isn't impossible, just very time consuming. Hilarious guy and you can tell he really cares about his students.
A bunch of extra credit opportunities and makes grading very clear.
THE GOAT!!!!
Nothing needs to be said about the man. Goat excel teacher. Simple.
This class is super helpful and will help me a lot in the future. If you have at least one brain cell, you can pass with a C, if you have TWO brain cells you can get an A with the amount of extra credit he offers. I would actually try to do the assignments since his exams are based on them, but otherwise this class is fun af.
Professor Armstrong makes it incredibly difficult to not get an A in this class. He gives out more extra credit than you can imagine. Super nice dude. Assignments are time consuming but contrary to other classes they have real world application. Exams are an easier version of the assignments and he gives you all of the MCQ's he asks on the exam.
Ken Armstrong is definitely the professor you want when taking an Excel class. He is extremely knowledgable, and does a good job relaying this information in his lectures. He sends A LOT of e-mails, some of which I think are unnecessary, but it's okay. He also offers so much extra credit that you can pretty much bomb an exam and still get an A.
The best professor I have had at FSU. If you have the chance to take him in person, you definitely should. He is always willing to help his students with anything they need regarding assignments, projects, quizzes, etc. He made learning SQL fun somehow? 10/10
Great professor, really easy class if you just put in the work and try.
Prof. Armstrong is a really kind teacher who is always there to help. I found this course to be a bit challenging but there was enough extra credit opportunities to make up for it. You could fail one of the exams and still pass the class. The videos are very long and make sure you give yourself a good couple of hours to do the assignments.
The assignments took hours for some but you get multiple attempts on most. The exams weren't that bad and he gives extra credit opportunities. Just keep up and you'll do just fine.
Ken Armstrong is a good professor and makes his class better then it is. He shows demonstrations on how to do most things so just take the time to go through his videos and you will do well.
He will post youtube video links to his lectures using excel from TEN YEARS AGO. Some features don;t exist on new excel. He is not understanding about extensions, sickness, accommodations, etc. Excel is not hard to use- but he makes it seem impossible. Do not take this class unless you have 20 hours a week to work on your assignments.
Assignments may take hours to do, but you are given multiple attempts except for assignments via canvas. He post lectures explaining assignments and responds very quickly. The course is difficult, so pay attention, watch the lectures, and ask questions. He is strict on extensions!
Ken Armstrong is by far one of the best professors at FSU. He's incredibly nice and caring, and genuinely wants you to succeed in the class and beyond. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and there are some laborious assignments but the content actually prepares you for the future. Great guy
W Ken W Zeus
Best Professor EVER. If you watch his video lectures and just do the assignments, you are set. This has been my favorite class at FSU so far and I genuinely have so much fun doing his assignments. Can't forget to mention the unlimited amount of extra credit he provides. WE LOVE YOU KEN and ofc ZEUS!!!
genuinely super caring professor and very smart. the way the class is set up you genuinely learn what your doing which I appreciate. so much extra credit. very helpful during office hours. assignments take awhile but thats just how it is. the class is structured really great and you can tell he cares about his students and their education.
W mans tbh
The assignments are long. Get over it. He offers so much extra credit I finished with like a 115% in the class. Got Excel certified for 40 extra credit points and he waived the the test fee. He is a genuinely nice guy. Literally posts exactly what will be on the exams to help you study.
Yes, Yes, & again Yes! TBH it's an extremely difficult course (for me at least). yet he did a PHENOMENAL job. Throughout the semester the EC opportunities totals 100pts which he gives generously, TAKE ADVANTAGE. For those required to take CGS2518, there will be no better teacher than Ken. The workload is overwhelming but so worth it in the end.
Amazing professor! The workload can feel like a lot depending on the assignment but the structure of the class is very consistent. So much extra credit available and him or his TA's are always ready to help.
Guy gives so much extra credit. Course can be a lot at times, but learning how to use excel is critical for most COB majors. If you want to learn you can, if you want to just get by you can do that too. Super caring for students, and Zeus is the cutest.
If you don't get an A its because you missed assignments. Nuff said. Great guy, easy A if you actually do all of the assignments
He's a great guy, the workload can just be insane. If you put in the work you'll do well. Lots of videos to watch and two assignments due every week, sometimes can take hours so beware. There's extra credit opportunities and you can submit late work. Rounds up grade
Great professor. He gives so much extra credit, even if you dont do great on exams, you have so many opportunities to get extra points. Some assignments are difficult, but there's a discussion forum where you can ask questions + get help, and office hours are extremely helpful.
Professor Armstrong is super nice and helpful. There's only about 1 assignment a week and he helps out as much as he can but still expect to spend a few hours on them. Before each exam he posts a review which is almost identical to the test and usually offers extra credit as well. Stay on top of the work and you will succeed.
Prof Armstrong is so sweet and there's a ton of extra credit! Assignments can take a while but learning excel is super important for business majors. Super easy A if you do the work
Professor Armstrong gives an insane amount of EQ. The assignments are clearly outlined and simple. He clues you in on the content of the entire exam. There is a fair bit of homework, but it almost never gave me a hard time. Great, understanding guy who loves his job and loves to show his amazing dog. I LOVE ZEUS! One of my favorite classes ever.
So much extra credit AND he provided a free opportunity for us to get our Excel certification (passing the certification exam also counted for extra credit, plus those exams are usually expensive to take). Only a handful of his assignments got tricky but he provides so many resources.
