Very easy teacher. I took him for Comp 1 and 2. He grades on grammatical errors and not so much on the content. No unnecessary assignments, just the essays. Would recommend him for both classes.

Awesome teacher, tells you exactly what he is going to grade you on and he explains everything. Homework is a breeze because he tells you want he is looking for.

If you listen and take notes, you'll have no problem writing your papers. He cracks jokes alot, it's just too bad they are not all that funny...

Claney was very easy. He was very fair and almost gave us the answers. Pay attention to grammar and sentence structure and you'll breeze right through his class.

I wish I needed another class that he taught. It's very obvious that he loves what he does. He makes it as easy as he can but you still learn a lot from his class!!

For those who like fast track classes but are unsure about taking comp classes fast track. Take Claney he is very easy and you will love it.

comp I and II were the first classes that I took in college. I am graduating next month and still Ken Claney is my favorite teacher that I ever had in my whole life. Thank you Ken.

Mr. Claney is a very good teacher!However, if planning to take fast track be prepared to spend a lot of time on papers. You still have the same # of assignments as 16wk. class(3essays, 1(7pg) rsrch paper,1 final,1 powerpt pres)You can do it but be prepared to spend the time!

He is a really great teacher. He is always willing to help at any time. The only hard thing in to do in his class is the mid term.

Fasttrack is hard but it won't as much in his class. Wish I had a chance to take more classes from him. Thanks for making English enjoyable, sir.

I took him while still in HS as concurrent enrollment, so I was nervous and everything. He made it real easy for me and made me feel as though I was more qualified to be there than many other students.

He has to be the best teacher for Comp I&II. I just finished his Fast Track Comp II. It's challanging but he is very understanding and willing to work with you. I reccommend him for any class. He truly understands what it's like to be a student and helps you out. You won't regret taking his classes..Ever!!

very good teacher. His lessons were very clear. Assignments were not too difficult, but adequate to prepare you for comp 2. Unfortunately I didn't have him for that class, definatly a mistake! He's great!

I loved him! I took him back to back Fast Track. He completely spelled out what he was looking for in your papers. Just follow what he says and spell/grammar check and you can get an A. Also, he wouldn't hold us in class unnecessarily...in other words...OUT EARLY! Awesome!!

if you want to get comp out of the way take him. made an A and I am no Sylvia Plath. He is a very kind and helpful teacher.

probably the best english teacher i have ever had, took comp 1 & 2 in fast track

I took him fast track. He really wants you to do well and will tell you how to get help if you need it.

I took Comp 1 & 2 Fast-track back-to-back in the 4 week classes. Awesome! It's even better now that it's over, but that is because I HATE ENGLISH! Take him FAST-TRACK. There are essays, but they are easy. I wish he offered more classes. I will miss you Mr. Claney! But not as much as I have missed Boston Legal to be in your class. ;-)lol. -Candice

Good teacher when you find out how he grades. He counts off for alot more than you think.Assignments are not bad but if you did not have a good Comp I instructor then you are screwed.

Mr. Claney is a great professor. I took his class Fast Track 4 week. Zipped right by. He gives 4 essays and a research paper. willing to help as much as possible. Great Guy!!

this class is boring but easy. he is tough on grading papers and seems to be pretty picky but he gives extra credit for almost every paper. i took the FT class and finished with an A he let us out early almost everytime. overall he was an ok teacher.

FT1213 is not for lazy people! Mr. Claney is fair, but firm on his grading of papers! I just finished eve. Fast Track class, I worked my tail off! I pulled off a B to get an A you will need a good grasp of the 5 Paragraph essay. You will write 5 essays 1 is a research essay. Be prepared to put in many hours on your own. In all a great professor.

Claney is an EXCELLENT teacher in my book. Before I came into his class, my writing and understanding of essays was plain horrible; I wrote like a 8 year old. Once I got in however, he just really simplified the whole process for me and it amazed me how no teacher simplified it as well as he did. He can also be quite a cheery guy to.

He is very helpful and patient. He spends alot of time answering questions, and really works with each student to make sure they grasp the class.He is very fair, but this course is tough. He offers extra credit on each essay. I earned an" A".

He went over the requirements thoroughly. You cannot go through this class and not know how to write an essay correctly. He is very picky but, let's you know exactly what is expected. Good teacher, if you want to learn English composition.

Make sure you know your grammar. He will make a perfectly good paper turn into crap by just looking at grammar. He doesn't pay much attention to the content of your essays, just the mechanics. He's an ok teacher, likes to talk A LOT about movies.

4 Weekend Fast Track Class. My writing skills are not great so it was a lot of work. He reviewed MLA when he realized we did not know it. He was flexible on due dates but once set 1/2 off for late assignments. I enjoyed his summaries of the stories in the book. I learned a lot that will help in my future writings.

I really enjoyed taking Comp I and II from Claney. I made out with an A in Comp I, and a B in Comp II (I didn't even turn in an essay in II). If you want to knock out Comp in just 4 weeks and still feel like you learned something, then this is the class for you! It is intense in the fact that you write 5 essays in a 4 week period.

hes awesome. i would love to take him for comp. 2, but i cant. BUT TEXTBOOK IS NEEDED and sometimes, attendance is too. OVERALL, HE'S COOL. TAKE HIS CLASS.

This class is not for beginners, sad thing is most of us that come in college are at entry level with our wrint skills. While he makes writing assignments very clear his grading techniques are EXTREMELY HARD. I came out of this class feeling under accomplished. I wouldn't recommend. You work hard and without the reward!!!

Took Claney for Comp I and enjoyed the class so much I took him for Comp II FT, Explains everything and if you read the comments on the essays he returns, you know exactly where your struggling and what he's looking for. 2/3 of us in CompII FT had him for Comp I

I took Claney for the 4wk ENGL 1113 & 1213 classes. He was great. We had an essay due every week & some of them were extensive, but he was always willing to give you advice or recommend a tutor.

Took the fast track 4 wk class - essay was due each week but he is very helpful. Lots of powerpoints but you do learn the basics. Would highly recommend.

Fun teacher, helped me improve my writing skills. He's only critical to help you. likes semicolon use. good class to take if you are an english major!

great guy!funny! and he is helpful. he goes over a few things. but he wont go over it unless you need him to. so speak up if you need to know something. this class should be an easy A or B :) just dont procasinate. great fast track class. took him for comp 1&2 for FT. and it was so worth it. his essays are all easy. great guy and entertaining.

he is excellent. I'd definitely recommend him. He is so eager to help the class with what we are struggling with. He will do everything he can to make sure you succeed. He really does know how to teach. I had him for comp 1 and comp 2.

Mr. Claney made it comfortable for me to take English, come to class and participate you will make a good grade.

Excellent Teacher. I suggest you take him for Comp I & II, if possible, so you know what he expects - this will make Comp II "easier." Claney gets it and he honestly tries to make the class educational & fun. He'll work with you but you have to put forth some effort otherwise there's nothing to build on.

The best class experience. I took Comp 1 and Honors Comp 2 on Fast track for 4wks long. Just come to class and get involved. You will make a great grade with effort shown in class. Loved the movies we watched for Honors Comp 2 class. Really enjoyed writing papers on the classical movies instead of reading. He is the best!

Good teacher easy grade as long as you did the essays. Didn't give too much extra credit. The classes were pretty boring and slow pasted for me but I was never much for powerpoints. I took his class fresh out of high school slacked and still got a decent grade I would recommend him especially for freshman!

Claney is awesome! Yes he is a bit picky on grammar when it oomes to your essays, but he give you very clear feedback on what you need to improve and then works with you to do so. Uses a variety of teaching methods to keep the class fun. I took his three week class and due to a date change completed the class in two weeks. Highly recommend him!

Great teacher! I took him for fast track comp 1 and am taking hinges for comp. English was my best subject, so all I had to do is show up. But he takes his time with each student. He really cares a d understands if your not a born writer. Highly recommend!!!

Great Professor! Took fast-track class and was worried about that decision. No need to worry, he is pretty clear on what he is looking for and extremely helpful. Essays are work, but not bad if you put forth the effort.Group games to help you learn but one must show up to play. Taking Comp II w/ him next! Take him if you can.

I took Claney for the Summer fast track comp 2 class. He is very picky when he grades essays. Be very careful with your commas! Class games are easy points and he lets you fix your essays and turn them back in for 5 extra credit points. Also there is a power point presentation. Very stressful 3 weeks, but glad to get it over quickly!

A great professor! Very nice with an easy amount of work who teaches you all you need to know if not more in fun and engaging ways.

This man knows his stuff! Took Fast track, played games and watched movies. wrote 4 or 5 papers. Very understanding, will not bend on his grading. First paper you can correct and turn back in for additional points.

Very helpful and understanding! Assignments are simple and easy, but if you don't like group projects, don't join this class. A majority of his extra credit assignments are group projects. Besides that he is very funny and dorky. Would recommend this professor!

Took fast track honors comp 2 class and highly recommend it. He is a great teacher and somewhat picky on essays. His expectations are very clear and expects quality writing so don't rush the essays. This professor is for people who actually want to be better writers. Getting an A is definitely possible just don't procrastinate. Fun class, nice guy.

Mr. Claney is awesome! I took him for Comp I and II. He is a must! You will learn a lot! No exams, just write 2 12 paper every week on things that interest you. His extra credit is great!

I cannot stand english, but I will seek him out for any that I need to take. A huge help with understanding busy lives. A paper is a paper but he makes them tolerable. Anybody that puts forth a little effort will go a long way in this class.

I took his online Academic Strategies. GREAT TEACHER!!! Always gives great feedback and always positive! His class is no joke but his work is easy and he really cares. Uses free online textbook. I hope I can take him again in the future!

I took Comp 2 in a 4 week class and he was great! We watched movies instead of reading the books, we had 4 papers due that were simple. Would take again! Such a great teacher and nice man!

He was an excellent professor, but when it came to grading papers he focused more on spelling than actual grammatical errors. Also the final was a presentation and he counted off 5 points out of 100 for one misspelling. He was very inconsistent when grading and seemed to grade the male members of the class harder than the female members.

His class is great! We only had 5 essays the whole 4 weeks plus one powerpoint. His essays were 2 1/2 pages minimum. One or two of the topics were a bit challenging but he's willing to help you out if you ask. He also teaches clearly and the only thing about his class is that he grades based on grammer and mechanics. He also gives many breaks.

Professor Claney made Comp II for me. He loves what he teaches and cares about his students genuinely. English is a weak subject for me but he got me interested and engaged in it beyond what I thought of it. Class participation is a must, and his games are corny but memorable and fun! If you hate English, take his classes. You'll change your mind.

I took the fast track class we had to do 4 essay 2 1/2 page 1 power point everyone made an "A" He wants you to come to class so he does group games which everyone made an "A" I hate comp but I really enjoyed this class. The workload is do able

I took Professor Claney's 4-week fast track class. There were 4 papers total, 3 five paragraph papers and 1 five page paper. He is very friendly and gets to know his students. He offers extra credit and tells you what mistakes you made so you don't make them again. If you have to miss for work or anything he is understanding. I loved this class!

I had Claney for Comp1. We only had 4 essays all semester and if you revise based off of his corrections you get an extra 5 points. Tests are based off of team games in class and they are super easy. Would definitely recommend.

I had Claney for Summer 2018 4 week English Comp 1, and he was an amazing teacher. I tried taking Comp 1 last semester but ended up dropping it. I'm really happy I chose this English class to take. He makes assignments clear and gives you all the info you need.

The class is really easy to pass if you know grammar, and if you know how to write an essay. You don't have to be really good, just enough for the class level. (I took the fast-track class.) There are 3 essays and a research paper, along with a power point (no words needed.) He also has easy group quizzes. Advice: Print all material provided online

I took the fast-track class being a non-native speaker, still in High School. It was my first college class, and I received an A. I would highly recommend!

Took professor Claney for comp 1 & 2. Super easy, wouldnt waste your time taking a full semester I took him both times during the summer! 4 essays only, once graded youre able to correct the errors based on his comments for 15 extra credit points (hell literally tell you what to fix). Group jeopardy for midterms so just attend class easy points.

I took him for Comp 1 online and it was only 4 essays, five paragraphs each. He is very precise in grading but gives you the chance to turn in revisions to your paper for 15 extra points. He tells you EXACTLY what you did wrong on your papers and even how to fix it so there is 0 reason not to turn in revisions.

DONT TAKE HIS ONCE A WEEK CLASS. he trails off to use up as much time and fill up the gaps. hes very easy. you need to be in class for game day since its worth 100 points. theres 4 essays and each worth 225 points.
