You'll either be in stiches from his humor or sleeping
His test are really easy, an you don't even have to buy the book, let alone read it (because he gives very detailed notes, just have to show up to class).
hes funny in a very weird way! just show up on review day cause he tells u everything on the test.. he doesnt care about attendance either.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! IF YOU WANT AN EASY A, TAKE THIS GUY. he's got a weird sense of humor, but you may want to bring a pillow with you to class. Can only miss 10 days of class now, but only need to show up for Review days to get an A on his tests.
Nice guy. Just come to class and you'll do okay. No stress, and he makes a required class not that bad. Don't need to buy book.
great sense of humor and EASY class!!!
I agree. Class is no stress (which is nice for a change), and it's done in an intelligent way w/a sense of humor. Also, get the feeling he actually wants to hear what students have to say.
Nice man. Very funny! Very intelligent.
the best teacher at ecu!
If you have to take ethics make sure to take Ferguson. Easy class i ever took. Pay attention on the exam review days and there is no way you cant get an A. I went to 6 classes all semster and got an A.
Dr. Ferguson is funny as hell. He acts really weird, but is very nice. If you attend class everyday, you will never have to read the horrible text book (it's seriously confusing). His test are really easy if you study. He makes material fun.
Wording on tests can be a little confusing, but go to class and review session and you should be fine. He is willing to help if you need it.
HILARIOUS and so weird!!! Don't buy the book. He uses the same tests every semester so ask around for the tests. if you don't make an A let's just face it...your stupid or just lazy!!
Great, Great, Great!! Don't buy the book. Just go to class, if you don't you'll miss out on this guy. He's really a good teacher just weird, but really funny.
IF YOU GO TO ECU YOU NEED TO TAKE THIS CLASS FOR THE LAUGH FACTOR. They could do a show on comedy central about some of the outlandish stuff he has come up with! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME CLASS!
one of my favorite teachers of all time. he is very smart and very funny. i have some trouble w/ the tests, but not too much. you need to have this teacher before you graduate
Very funny man. You wouldn't believe some of the things this man will say in his monotone voice. I have never seen the man laugh, even though he's hilarious. Take him!
Very easy class. You can get an A without coming to class except for the reviews the day before each test... however you should take his one paper seriously.
Kind of a weird dude, but gets the point across and grades well. Doesn't count attendance.. Just know the material for the essay exams.
If you take any class at ecu, make it his. He really is funny, attendance isnt necessary but you actually want to go. He has this monotone voice and says the funniest things ive ever heard. Tests are relevant to material and students that are not philosophy majors. Easiest A at ECU.
Ferguson is a really funny guy. He makes learning business ethics very fun and enjoyable. It is worth going to class just to hear what he is going to say next. His liberal-slate got pretty old after awhile though.
is a little weird but he is cool and the class is an easy A. just go to class or have a friend that does and take good notes. all tests are multiple choice and you may have to write a 4-6 page paper on the ethics of a firm, but still an easy class
Bad Teacher. He is not clear about the material on your tests, and is not helpful. He makes you feel stupid in class for having any opinion that is different than his. Be careful if you get him!!
What a joke, went to class 5 times, three tests, one paper, and the exam. What a freaking idiot though, some might find him funny, but i think it was pretty stupid.
I had him during summer session for Professional Ethics. I really enjoyed the class, funny discussions. Not too difficult as long as you go to class or at least copy notes from someone who really pays attention. DONT take this class if you are offended by off the wall sexual discussions and comments! Overall a pretty good class. ALL essay tests!
Anyone who doesn't enjoy Ken Ferguson's class simply doesn't get his ultra-dry sense of humor. He says the wildest things with such a deadpan delivery that the humor flies right over people's heads. I was in stitches, though, most of the time. This guy should write comedy. He's also knowledgable about his field of expertise. Good teacher!

HAHAHAH, wow this teacher is hilarious, but not...definately not the greatest teacher but he does know his stuff...does not take attendance so i never went except for tests and the one huge paper that is due and i pulled out with a decent grade, not the easiest class but its philosophy and i dont think you have much choice on the teacher
This class is alright. I personally didn't do as well on the exams as I had hoped.Do the paper well and you should make an avg grade. Ferguson is a pretty cool old guy. The study material from your notes will be kinda wishy washy for the exams so try to study as much as you can from his posted notes. Good luck with that unorganized book too.
Dr Ferguson is very funny. It's an easy class and making an A is not hard at all. Unfortunately I slept in class and came out with a B. Wasn't to happy being a straight A student but for some reason could not stay awake in his class. Anyway, an easy A if you pay attention. Taking notes is crucial. He will tell you how to prepare for the test.
Easy class! Take this teacher, notes are directly from the notes so even though attendance is not required you should go to class.
Class is boring and almost pointless to attend. There's only 2 tests and a final so you only get three grades for the class (in my opinion NOT a good thing). His tests are not that difficult, but you never know exactly what to study therefore making it a bit confusing.
This guy is hilarious! Easy course, come to class and get an A, enjoyable course.
Why does everyone seem to think easy = good? Yes, it's easy, but he's not that good a lecturer, and I didn't get that much out of the course.
This professor is a funny dude. He appears scatter-brained all the time and likes to crack jokes but it makes the class more interesting. The tests are easy as hell when you attend class.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class, it actually was the only class I never missed a day of. Very easy, Dr. Ferguson makes the lectures interesting and the tests are a breeze.
Easy class. Hard to hear him because he talks so softly in a monotone voice. Makes crazy jokes out of no where in a calm tone, which are hilarious. Make sure you take notes, and the tests will be easy.
If you take one of his classes (and actually care about the class) you should sit towards the front. He speaks really softly and in a monotone voice. He likes to crack jokes (none of which are funny) but he really knows his stuff.
One of my favorite classes at ECU. Ferguson makes the class interesting and even though random girls like to question everything he says (cough cough annoying girl who sits on the left) he knows what hes talking about and is hysterical, but somehow manages to never laugh at his own jokes. Simple class because its interesting so you retain the info
Took over summer-agree he speaks in monotone voice, but easy 2 undertand. Gave Xtra credit at the end. If go to class and pay attention, take notes, you can make atleast a high B.
I took Mr. Ferguson three semesters ago, and there is a reason why I still want to comment about him. He is just that good! I loved his class, he is so random and yet comical. He teaches in such a way that you learn the info without even knowing. Plus, it's so much fun see what kinda random suit he will be wearing that day. Awesome guy!
He is indeed a master of dry humor. Ferguson makes it a fairly comfortable, low-anxiety class. Just pay attention to lectures; go to class. He's a good guy.
Fergie is amusing. He makes controversial comments in class just so you will argue with him. The lectures are dull, because he's monotone and tends to ramble, but he's a nice guy and the tests are easy.
HILARIOUS (dry humor)! Attendance is not mandatory and he curves every test. Read the book and study the notes for the tests.
This class was an easy A. If he offers you any resources I would recommend utilizing them. Such as "old" test and practice quizzes. Do not buy the book either.
Ferg is the man.He has very dry humor that if you pay attention will crack you up. Lets you take practice quizes with questions from test, as well as gives out old test to study from. There was an extra credit paper worth 20%. So if you got a 76 on a test, your grade would be a 96 for that test. Good man
Ferg is a very monotone boring professor but he has a extremely dry sense of humor. He was funny but i dont think he ever smiled. Ask him for a practice test from last year (They are exactly the same for the test during your semester) and take on the online quizzes. Overall, he is a good guy. He cares about his students.
Monotonous, but if you pay attention, the guy is a riot! Lectures can go on for awhile, but his jokes keep it entertaining if you're sharp enough to catch his dry humor. Tests aren't so difficult if you study the material. The class is pretty straightforward and easy.
his talks monotone but he is a pretty gud teacher and there is no attendence policy but its gud to go to class bc all the stuff on the test come from the class lectures!!! take him!!!!!
Kens is cool dude. By far the best professor at ECU. I have already had him for business ethics and just got done with prof. ethics. Its a great class as long as you attend. Tests arent hard and as long as you study you'll be just fine. Would DEF recommend taking him to any freshmen who want an easy A/B!!!!!
He is a really cool teacher! He gives everyone practice tests. He makes it really easy to be successful in his class! Take his class its worth it.
Ferguson is a real easy teacher. Go to his office hours, will show you a copy of old test but its the exact test he will give you. Overall, dude is a BOSS. I went from a D to an A after first test, what's really good
He is one of my favorite professors ever! I feel like I actually learned something in his philosophy of religion class. I strongly recommend taking any of his classes!
Ok the BEST professor I have taken so far. He is soooo easyyyy. Attendance is not mandatory. There are 4 essay exams . He straight up says I like essay exams bc its easier to pretend you did well.. He has a dry sense of humor that is soo funnyy..the entire class laughs the whole time. Gives you study guides for tests that are the exact essay topics
Okay this class is ridiculous. There is only 3 grades the entire semester which makes it easy to mess up and the teacher is monotone. Tough to pay attention but minimal book use.
Great professor. Easy to understand. Made jokes which actually made class laugh even though he didn't. Great summer class. Pay attention to lectures take some notes and will do great in the class.
This guy is probably the funniest professor I've ever had. If you like dry humor, you'll get a good dose of it in class. As for the class, I was afraid it'd be boring, but it's actually incredibly interesting. I've never walked out of a Gen. Ed this fulfilled, it's stuff you'll take with you wherever you go. Easy, funny, and minimal book use.
This is one of the funniest professors EVER!! He is monotoned but hilariously funny.[DRY HUMOR.] There's 4 Exams.. Final is NOT Cumulative. Study guides are very helpful. If you read and attend class, you will Pass.. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Very Very Funny!!! Class is really boring though, but go to his office for each exam and he hands them to you and goes over it so you have the exam with the answers. Definitely take him!!
Class is not mandatory but if you miss his lectures you aren't going to know the information. He's a mono-toned but hilarious guy. Out of all the philosophy courses to take, take this one!
Attendance isnt mandatory, there was no homework or quizzes. Just 3 test and no final. He has review days were he goes over the entire test and gives you answers. Didnt go to class for a month, went to the review, got a 94 on my last test. Definitely take this class for a easy good grade.
Test are mainly from lectures but attendance isnt mandatory. Material is interesting though. Go to the reviews sessions. He also gives extra credit on days no one shows up to class.
Lectures were interesting, even though attendance was not required. Real funny guy, go to the test review which is usually the day before the exam and he pretty much gives you the exam
This guy is really funny, but tells all his jokes with a straight face. The tests are very easy because he lets you see the actual test in the test review. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives you everything you need to know for the test in class, so go to class! Only used the book for a definition or two. It was the easiest A I've ever earned.
Easiest A ever! I didn't buy the book and didn't need it! attendance isn't required but the lectures are interesting! Go to class the day before the test and you'll do fine! Ferguson is a really funny dude too !
Dude is a boss. Probably best professor at ECU. He talk a little monotoned but his jokes are ruthless and very funny. I enjoyed this class. Bright side, if you cant make it to class dont sweat it casue he dont take role and he have a test review of whats going to be on the test the day before the teswt.
Poor guy, he is very sweet and makes very funny jokes, but the class is very very boring. You don't really even need to show up. Just go to class the day before the test and he will tell you whats on the tests... if you cant find the test answers online!
Professor Ferguson is a nice guy but his class is very boring, most times the class does not pertain to business ethics. He does not take attendance but notices when people go to class often. He really likes class participation too and won't continue on until someone answers his questions. There are 3 tests and no homework and no classwork.
Ferguson is one of the funniest professors I know. Likewise, he is probably the most out of touch guy either. No attendance policy, no HW, no projects, no quizzes, just three tests. He will give you a sample test the day before with the EXACT same answers as the test. Cannot get below an A-
3 tests, nothing else. Show up the day before the test for the review and you will be fine. No attendance but if you do go to class, it is pretty entertaining. The guy is funny and knows his stuff
I went to class the first day, the day before the exams, and the day of the exams (total of 7 classes) and made an A. He gives you the answers to the test the day before it. He doesn't put it on blackboard though. Take his class.
He does not give you the answers to the tests anymore. For the first 2 tests he gives a sample quiz of half of the test. Must go to class to get all the information. Very boring professor. For the final he gives a study guide but no answers or sample quizzes.
Doesn't give the answers before the test like he used to. The first two tests he gave half the answers, and the final none at all. My advice would be to go to class and take notes and listen. Lectures aren't bad, kinda funny guy.
The guy is a socialist and some of the things he said were not accurate. He spends the lectures finding a way to bash capitalism and conservative ideas. If you notice the entire course is structured that way. Every bit of the 'ethics' is the far left wing platform. That said, he knows his stuff and is a very good professor. Take him!
Dr. Ferguson is hilarious. One would expect an ethics course to be dull and boring, but his humor about the topics make you enjoy the course. There's never a class period where he doesn't make you laugh at least once. He's very knowledgeable and I would definitely take another one of his courses.
Spends some time in class making fun of students in class who like to talk about their ideas all class instead of the course material. That being said, he's a great professor. One of the most interesting professors. The course material really matched my ethical belief system, so it was an easy class. The lecture can get a bit long at times.
Only 3 Exams, and that's including the final. No homework, no classwork, no papers, no quizzes, no in class assignments. I wish he would have given us alternative assignments to help improve our grade.
Dr. Ferguson has a hilarious dry sense of humor, but he can come across as condescending if you ask questions or disagree with him. Class is a super easy A if you pay attention or read the book (either one). He also gives extra credit on days no one's in class.
Try to avoid this class as much as you can!
Class is boring, but there is no grade for attendance. 3 tests are the only grades, but there are study guides on Study Blue and Quizlet that are pretty much word for word the tests, so if you know those, you should easily get an A.
He now has 3 tests and 2 papers. He is the easiest paper grader ever and the tests are also easy. take this class.
I loved this class. Ferguson is a unique man and the way that he teaches gives you a full understanding of business ethics. It relates to my own understanding of general ethics. Also he has a dry sense of humor but he's hilarious about it.
Mr Ferguson was a good professor. If you show up to the lectures you'll be guaranteed to pass. His tests are word for word. He even posts notes from each class. His dry sense of humor is pretty hilarious too. He's awesome. Easy A and did not use the book just showed up to class. Also gives bonus points to past tests if you show up to class.
Ferguson is an interesting man. He's funny, yet condescending. His lectures are boring and he tends to jump from topic to topic. He hates phones and people who don't listen/respond to him. He's an extremely easy grader on papers. His three exams are online if you look hard enough. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it helps if you go. Take him
Graded on 3 tests & 1 paper (40%). Teaches w/o a microphone so even if you sit in the front you probably wont get what he's saying. Study guide is vague & doesn't help you on the tests, I thought I REALLY knew the material and made a 70 on the 2nd exam, so just hope you luck out by finding the right quizlet. I don't recommend, but some like him
Decent but boring lectures, you really don't have to go. There are 2 midterms and a final and he gives you a bank of questions for each of them. Even though you have the questions you have to make sure your answers are detailed and there are examples. Gives you the slides and all the answers are basically on there.
As long as you come to class and write down notes here and there you should be fine. Took his class during a summer session, and it was way easier than the one online with Yulcin. You have 3 exams, and you write two essays on topics you talked about during class. You dont need to get the book. I honestly looked up most of the topics online.
His lectures are somewhat dry depending on the day. Luckily he doesn't take attendance. He gives you his notes from each lecture and study guides but your grade is only based off 3 tests.
Very monotone and boring professor. He knows what he is talking about, but retaining the information said in class is near impossible. Luckily, there is online material for his class and his study guides are helpful before the tests. We only had three exams counted towards our grade, so you couldn't afford to have ONE off day.
Very easy course. If you read the professor's lecture notes and review online quizlets, you should be fine. Attendance is not mandatory and lectures can be pretty boring, so lots of people don't show up. Professor gives extra credit sometimes when many students don't show up. If you bother to put any effort into this course, you should pass easily.
do the study guide and you will be fine. The study guide directly related to the test. tests had a few application of theory questions but pretty straight forward.
Take this class.
He's an eccentric man, but if you go into class with an open mind it's hilarious to listen to, but I'm not sure if he knows he's funny. Don't buy the textbook; attendance isn't mandatory; there's 5 tests worth 20% each, one of which is the non-cumulative final, but ALL of the answers are found in his posted lecture notes so just ctrl+f.
I would have easily gotten an A if I read every lecture. Everything on the exams are in lectures and the textbook.
I have no idea how this guy has scored over a 2. Easily one of the worst professors I've ever seen. Mumbling, rambling lectures with at best a tenuous connection to the subject matter. A terrible textbook that you don't really need. The entire grade is based on 5 tests, one of which is the non-cumulative final. Just an absolutely garbage class.
Honestly a terrible professor. Might be the worst I've ever taken. Lectures are extremely boring, as he is a very quiet and dry man. You will not learn anything in this class. The tests are hard so get ready to study.
