Awesome Prof...VERY NICE One-To-One's.

So far so good but I know the marking will be extreme!
Besides his Temper and short fuse..he's ok
for head of itm, he doesn't know much.

Worst Teacher ever!!!!

he is an ok teacher... but seems very impatient when answering stud. questions!
How did he become director of the ITM program?
He doesn't like students - why is he the head. Heard him cursing about students
Great, Tons of Real world exp., Hard but fair, you can learn a lot from him

i saw him on the show when teachers attack
Typical ol skooler living in the past. Makes things harder than it should be.
Unless you are the VP of telecommunisomething he wont give you the time of day. Avoid this professor like the plague!!!
I've had worse.
Good amount of knowledge. Gets off track during lectures. I learned a lot in his class but he is an extremely hard marker.
he's hard to understand unhelpful and doesn't accept diff opinion.
700 & 800 Those are the two numbers you ask anybody from this program and you know what the hell they are talking about!!!
This prof once spent exactly 8 minutes on ONE slide of a powerpoint, upon which there was only ONE sentence, which said he wanted CONCISENESS. He spent 8min! What a bag of hot air, total waste of space.
I appreciated his general knowledge but felt like my boss and not my professor!
Makes course harder than it is. Very knowledgable, and unsympathetic.
Likes to overload you with work. Unfair with grades, as barely anyone ever gets over 80%. Short temper if you ask the wrong questions.
This guy is wayyyyyy to into himself. Think's hes the CEO of Ryerson. Has the worst temper in the world which explains why he's left ryerson. The rumor has it that he got fired for yelling at students for no reason. This is one giant step for Ryerson.
Maybe I am the rare exception, but I did like him. I took the course online and he let no B.S. in the way. (Yes, he did have issues with me too.) Many online courses things aren't focused and the teachers do nothing about it. He expects a LOT but leaving the course you know your stuff.
Really enjoyed this class, even though it was taught online it was still interesting. I wish he had lectured more. He was very passionate when speaking. Take this class if you can!
This class was very interesting and I learned a great deal. It was over the internet. I can tell that it was one of the best courses so far. Lot of work but it was worth it. Mr. Grant knows what he is doing and he is a great teacher. I recommend everyone to take this course over the internet.
Annoying about small details, (names of assignments etc.) But gives you an idea of what the real world will be like, an all around great guy. Don't know what that guy was talking about him 'being fired for yelling at students'. Ken is actually attending graduate school overseas, nice try though.
he wants us to be professional and KILLS us on minor errors, but his slides are all typos. he wants us to be punctual and prepared and he comes late and runs off to get things in his office. organized? no.. he can't even set up a proper reading schedule. he likes to talk about himself a lot too.
He took my cell phone :*(
If you want to get the most out of the most important class in your 4-year ITM program, take it with Ken Grant, he is better than every other prof. He is tough, but very fair and he actually forces you to learn. Definitely a great prof, one of my favourites.
why say something in 20 words if you can say it in 1000. pompous is word that comes to mind. Cant imagine him for both 700-800. Advise u 2 bail to another prof.
Took this course online. Had a good experience but he is a hard marker and for sure short temper. Expects a lot from students.
If graduating with a good GPA is a priority you definitely want to avoid Ken Grant if at all possible. Kens section had the lowest average grade on the project, 76%, compared to a 97% with one of the other professors. Very depressing indeed. I won't be shaking his hand at graduation.
His course notes are polluted with far too many typos. After a while, this can get really annoying! Also, if you plan to take the course online in the summer, be prepared to write exams on Sunday morning and submit assignments on Saturday night.
What a hypocrite! Went on and on about 'leading by example', 'punctuality', & 'professionalism', when HE (himself) the Zen Master of 3rd-grade typos, & elongated BS, proved to have Zero Credibility. What an idiot! I too will NOT be shaking this pompous hot-head's hand, come graduation. Two words: Re-fund! Where can I get my money back?
Impossible to get a decent mark. Complete waste of time. If you're doing this course CE, don't take the online section, do it in class with Tom Supra instead!

I took a distance course taught by him and Man is he hot tempered! He doesn't mark easy and his notes are fill with errors, erros and more errors! He should be teaching in high school! He thinks that his notes are clear and precise but it's the other way...he want his student to submit their assignment on weekend either day or nite!!
Terrible!!! Very confident when in reality I don't think he is very smart... Able to use big words but thats about it... Avoid if at all possible!
ITs true people ... is pompous and hypocritical. Has no problem talking down to people ... and he is definetly not all that. ... I would like him to write one of his own projects/case studies the way he says it should be... half his arguments when discussing casing are flawed. Zero credibility.
Well if you really have a choice in 700 stay the hell away from him. you wont fail that's for sure but you won't get a good mark either, won't matter how much you try.The cases are waste of time, DO NOT SPEND TIME on them either way you'll get a B or more. The TAs are bunch of idiots who don't even bother readin.the exam is brutal written.BEWARE!!!

What a ***hole. He is a hypocrite who is completely without honor. What do I call someone who who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold? Hypocrite, phoney, pretender, con man, or for the worst offenders: Ken Grant.

I don't understand how everyone thinks that Ken is a horrible prof. Sure, he's not easy on his students, but that's why the majority of all the ITM700/800 awards come from HIS class. He also doesn't pull punches - perhaps another reason why students don't like him. He has NO qualms about commenting "BS" on your paper if you're tying to BS him!
Easy class to get an A. Internet Class. 5 1-page assignments, 2-projects. 1 midterm. participation marks. Final. The assignmetns are really easy. Designed to boost your marks. Just participate B/S in BlackBoard--easy marks. Midterm/Final MC & SA. Easy SA, and Extremely Hard M/C. Boost Your GPA.
i took it online. He's not that bad. Assignments were easy. But you gotta participate .. it's like 10%. The midterm and final are harder, like the mc was pretty tricky!! The essay questions aren't that hard, so you should be fine if u do the assignments and particpate in the DB.
course is alright...but the prof is a complete jerk...he's pretty rude to students...but the class isn't too bad
took CITM350 online .. WORST proff ever, expects alot from students, his assignments are unclear and stupid. Students are expected to write 400 words vs quality, any less and you will loose marks. If u take this course be prepaired for a lot of work. NOT A GPA BOOSTER.
Grant is a tough teacher but he is a nice, approachable guy at the same time. Don't expect to walk into the class and get a decent mark, u have to earn it with him. I recommend him for ITM700/800 if u really want to learn and get prepared for real life work.
I had a fun time going to Ken Grant's lecture because he is very informative. His lectures are like story telling, very interesting. He offers a lot of help for our group and made us work harder after each status report. The class average for the ITM700 report is 80 for 2006. I dont know about you, but Grant is a pretty easy marker.
Everyone has their own opinions of Ken. Personally, I think he's one of he greatest profs in all of ITM. Took a rather dull class and made it interesting. He also works you hard for your marks... but after all's said and done, said marks will most likely be good... as long as you paid attention and made the corrections he suggested, that is!
The WORST prof at Rye. Pretty much hates life and students
Something is deal every week. 7 assignments in total(500+ words in average) plus writing your own website, which he claimed you don't need HTML skills, WRONG! Weekly discussion (and I mean EVERY WEEK) is a pain in the rear, you are EXPECTED to respond to others comment. Likes to nail and demoralize students. Good luck if you have him.
He is all about the quality of work, and makes you work for the grades. Overall there were no surprises. A great course taught by a great prof.
Ken is an awsome professor! He gives excellent real life situations/examples, shares his experiences and makes the class worth a billion dollars. If you have a chance to take 700 with him, do it! I learned in his class more things than I learned in my 3 years at Ryerson.
Well what do I say.... I do not think he is a bad teacher. He has got some good real life examples. ITM700 exam is hard and he will not prepare you for it. ITM800 exam is better but multiple choice. Overall a lot of work, and it should be! Choose your group more wisely than your teacher.
Grant is one of the best profs I have ever had. He makes you work hard for high marks, but I’ve never had a prof that can keep you interested for more than 2 hours of straight lecturing. He has a lot of real-life experience and uses it for practical examples in the lectures. A rare and interesting prof that I would highly recommend.
good teacher, is very fair at marking. as long as you are on point and study, then you are good.
All I have to say is...SANTA CLAUSE! :)
IT Consulting with Grant is a privilege. What more can you expect from an former partner at KPMG and Stevenson Kellogg? After this class you'll realize what it takes to be a consultant, but more importantly have a fun time doing it. Almost impossible to get an A+ but almost a guaranteed A-. GREAT PROFESSOR!
ONLINE- Great prof. Expect to work hard for the A-. Fair marker, doesn't tolerate slacking. Clear instructions and knows his material and presents it well.
very horrible, arrogant, egoistic and has unrealistic expectations.
Had him for ITM724 and ITM350. ITM724 is an MBA level course, and you will definitely learn a lot from it. A LOT of work required, do not underestimate this course! ITM350 was internet distance education, easy marks.
Professor Grant is a well experience Prof but his lectures are BORING! =/ Just go to class and force yourself to learn the concepts he teach because they are meaningful to your future in the long run.
Took ITM350 online. The course is pretty straightforward, no midterm, and the exam is open book/internet. Participate in the discussions, do all the assignments, and you'll end up with a decent mark.
There is a reason that Professors retire when they reach their 70's - Ken Grant is the perfect example of someone that should be forced into retirement. His inconisistent feedback, and egotistical attitude will leave you feeling frustrated by the end of the course. Avoid if possible - if not prepare to kiss butt and never disagree with the Almighty
Egotistical, contradicting, senile Prof that should be avoided. His feedback is horrible, classes are pointless - just save yourself the time and effort and buy a business plan book and avoid classes and prof. It's a shame that Prof's like him give Entrepreneurship a bad name - highly dissatisfied.
He is an egotistical, senile, walking contradiction. AVOID IF POSSIBLE - don't ask him for feedback because he will contradict himself on a weekly basis. Never disagree with him or ever let him feel like you may know something he doesn't - he likes to feel power over students so agree with him and just show up the final day for the presentation.
Single-handedly ruined the first semester of the MBA program for me. Gives out tonnes of work to the point everyone got frustrated and got sick of the course within weeks. Industry assignment of 10000+ words. Is not representative of a Ryerson prof, he should be fired but he has tenure that he makes sure to rub in your face. End this hell.
Not a bad Prof, very nice guy. Expect B's. Disorganized at times, loves to talk about random stuff.
Possibly the worst Professor. Never had someone who was so useless in lecture bantering on about his golf game and having no ability to answer in class questions. Always contradicting himself by changing class structure and expectations, it is near impossible to do well as there is no set guidelines to do well. This prof will hurt your GPA.
Prof. Grant spends 95% of the lectures talking about himself and the other 5% on course content. Must attend all classes, although you may as well bring other work to do for when he goes off on tangents. Not an easy class by any means, but not difficult either...put in the work and you'll achieve somewhere in the B- to B+ range.
Ken's lectures aren't the most interesting but he is a relatively decent marker. If you do exactly what is asked of you getting an A is not impossible. The final exam was extremely easy which makes up for the tedious case studies. Over all a good class, and I would not hesitate to take another class from him!
One of the best profs I've ever had. This is a very tough course and requires a lot of hard work outside of class in a team environment. If you keep an open mind about your business plan idea and take constructive criticism from Ken, then this can be an extremely rewarding course. Make sure you have a marketing and finance person in your group.
Grant means well but is confusing when outlining the assignments. ENT 726 is all assignments with no final exam and majority of them are group projects. He doesn't give a clear outline or guidance on what to do, he gives vague instructions. Same thing happened when I asked for clarification during his office hours. Try avoid a class with Grant.
I am so happy I took this Technology and Organizational Strategy course with Ken! He did make us all work A LOT, but it was group work, doing cases. Very practical, challenging and useful for an MBA. Ken is passionate and will teach you, unlike many "easy" profs who let you just pass through the course with little skills and knowledge retained
He gave harsh comments, army sergeant style - could be very discouraging to student learnings at time. Careful not to make 'silly' mistakes, or you wouldn't hear the end of it. Students' clarifying questions could be misinterpreted as challenges on his authority. Often remind class of his credentials & past experience. Confidence destroyer. Avoid!!
Ken is a great teacher with a wealth of real-world experience to draw on. His MBA strategy class is much harder than the equivalent Global one, but well worth the extra effort.
For the first half of the semester, you're going to hate Ken as this course is heavily front-end loaded, however his methods and tactics will become more clear as the course progresses, and you'll learn to appreciate his style by the end. You'll need to work harder on reports than you're used to in other MBA classes to achieve good grades.
This prof is tough but is really passionate about the subject and gives good, interesting lectures. I think I learned the most from his Strategy class than any other class and also formed some great bonds with people from the intense group work we had to do!!
Absolutely ridiculous. Ken has been by far the worst professor I've had at Ryerson, he gives terrible advice and his feedback is joke worthy. This class is completely useless and I wish I had never taken it.
Awful; arrogant;
He is a very nice Professor. Always care for his students and try best to facilitate students.
Complete ass and just a pompous douche. Doesn't even have a course outline, most of the learning is done through watching podcasts. Such a joke of a course! Any emails for questions are met with passive aggressive emails and quips. One has to ask where TMU found this garbage fire of a prof.
TMU's reputation tarnished by a professor's appalling teaching: incoherent slides, irrelevant rants, and power trips. Excessive focus on credentials, unfair grading practices, and demeaning threats to students. A glaring oversight by TMU, undermining the value of our costly education.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I read some horrible reviews on RMP but still decided to take this course with this professor. Let's just say, worst decision ever. I am on the verge of dropping this course because of him, only thing stopping me is the tuition that has already been paid. HE IS SO RUDE! He will make you question yourself. Very rude man!!
WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD AT TMU!! I don't think even in my remaining 2 years at TMU I will have a worse prof than this one. Something can be his fault and he will blame it on you. He always thinks he's right even when he is in the wrong. He does not recognize the effort and time you put into work. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. TMU please fire him ASAP
i was scared to take this class because of the reviews but im having a great time. follow the guidelines and examples he's given exactly and you'll be fine. his feedback is amazing. really take it in to the next part of the assignment and you'll consistently get 80's. the class averages for the weekly assignments were 70's-80's.
