I took this class over the Summer and got an A. He was great! Super easy quizzes...but hard tests. Take good notes, read the book, do all activity papers and you'll do fine. Make sure your cell is off..I've seen him grill people for that!

Good teacher with interesting lectures. If you read the book you will be good. If you want an "A" you have to study a LITTLE. Lectures are interesting because he relates material to stories about his personal practice. But favors his female basketball player students.

Easy class. You have to be doing something very wrong if you don't get an A in his class. Just show up everyday to take the funny little quizzes and do the simple paperwork. This should get you an A. He gives out high scores on the activity papers. He's also funny and always ends the class early. Just don't be late.

I took this class in the summer 2004, I loved it. Psychology isn't easy, it can get complicated with the wrong professor, but Guttman made it clear to understand. I highly recommend him.

This is the drug and alcohol abuse class. I took it summer session. It's cool that eveything (the exams, paper and field trip) are all due at the end. But dont wait until the end because they are a LOT of work! The professor is excellent. Explains everything very well. Is prompt at grading and reponding to emails! Highly recommended!

I took this class my first semester in college. It was a good experience overall. He requires some outside work (i.e.- going to museums, city drug courts, police ride-a-longs) but if you keep up with them, then they are easy. Ask him about the project papers and he will tell you exactly what he wants on them. Study for tests and you'll pass w/an A!

I took the on-line version of the Alc. and Drug abuse. The Dr. is extremely well organized-it's very obvious he founded the distance ed. program- requirements for the whole course are posted in advance:pace yourself. Test answers are in the book and on the internet. This class surveys your ability to research not test take-I think I learned a lot.

He is one of the better teachers I've had. His lectures are interesting and if you pay attention, his class is pretty easy. I learned a great deal and had fun doing it to, its hard to find more teachers like him at this school. I would highly recommend anyone taking a psyke class to take him. i wish i was a psyke major so i can take his 201

he gives the option of writing 4 short papers or going to 4 different personal field trips. i did the field trips& got 400 points in the first month of class. after that all you have to worry about is the tests which arent that bad. just show up for class, take notes, &listen& youll do fine. he also has very easy quizzes. Dr. Guttman is a great teacher. His class is SO easy! Just show up, pay attention and take notes, do the SUPER easy essays, and look over your notes 30 mins before an exam. His quizzes are also super easy. I got the highest grade in the class and felt like i hadnt done anything. And trust me... im LAZY!

Very nice guy. Down-to-Earth is a very good description. There is a bit lacking from his lectures but if you do the reading you should be fine. Where you'll find the most fulfillment is in going into his office and talking to him. He's really a sweet man and a hardworking teacher. Most of the class is listening, quizzes, and the occasional paper.

I took this Alchol and Drug class online. He has everything he wants you to do and turn in from the beginning of the course.He wants a lot of detail and examples on the discussion board, test, and papers. He expects legit sources; so you do have to do research. You have to do field trips for credit, and he sometimes offered extra credit :)

Clear and concise class with built-in extra credit. It was almost impossible not to pass this class. The lectures are interesting and the field trips are pertinent. Highly recommended, PLUS he looks like James Caan.

Professor Guttman is a fantastic professor! Very clear in his lectures and gives you the opportunity to go on personal fieldtrips over writing a paper (for those of you who hate writing papers). I got an A+ in this class. It wasn't too dificult. Just follow directions and read the textbook and review notes. It's not rocket science.

Great Teacher! DO EXTRA CREDIT! Very simple assignments. The final is the easiest out of the exams. Attend class and make sure you take the notes from his lectures! He is a very helpful teacher.

Professor Guttman is probably the smartest guy I've encountered at Citrus. He has an uncanny ability to hold your attention for the entire class period even if you have no interest in the subject whatsoever. Loves to reminisce about his frat days at UCLA and has a plethora of crazy stories to boot. Again, he has very reasonable expectations.

He is a great Professor. You can go on field trips instead of writing papers and he will let you pick your own field trips if you get his approval. For exams, make sure you read the chapters in the book and not just his notes. Exams are based on both! I had to study hard to get good grades on exams but was able to get an A by doing so.

My favorite class all semester. He knows what he's talking about, and if you ask questions during class he enjoys answering them. You need to study the notes, because he gives quizzes randomly. He has great stories and a great report with his students. His intro psych is fairly easy, I was shocked to learn I had the highest grade in class and had never cracked the book. Great professor.

This Psychobiology class is a bit difficult. You can get an A though if you keep up your work. If you don't do well in your test, you can make it up in your paper or presentation, or vice-versa. Overall the content of the class is fairly boring but Guttman does a good job of trying to keep it as interesting as possible.

AWESOME GUY. His class is easy because it is SO interesting. He made me want to go into psychology just from his lectures. He defiantly knows his stuff. Tests are easy. I've had Guttman for both PSY101 and PSY102 and he is a wonderful teacher. He explains everything clearly and doesn't give homework. He does not take roll but it is highly recommended you attend class. The tests are easy if you study the material and he is really approachable and easy to talk to if you have any questions. There is no excuse to not pass this class. Pay attention in class and pretty much just have common sense. I bought the book but it's barely needed, but definitely helps if you want over 100% in the class. I heard he was tough and mean, but honestly he just doesn't want to deal with high school foolery. I cannot say enough good things about Professor Guttman! He is definitely someone I look up to and admire. Biopsychology class was difficult. A few tests, a group powerpoint, and a literature review. The hardest assignment for me was the literature review, its worth a lot. He gives plenty of time to complete. I received full points :)

I took him for Sociology 202, though it is not his major he did fairly well to teach it. The class was not complex by any means, just show up, study the notes, pay attention , do the work and you should be fine. He also had the tendency to let us out pretty early, but I ain't complaining!

Took Guttman's Human Sexuality class over summer and thought it would be difficult over a 6 week span. 4 easy essays, 6 Discussion board questions which encourage you to think. The hardest parts were the midterm and final which literally required hugely expanded answers, but they could be researched easily. Overall, great yet not too challenging

Dr.G is a wonderful teacher!! He wants to see his students do well! He has amazing examples of everything you learn. Grades are posted within an hour! I'm truly thankful he was my first teacher back after 7 years away! Love love love him!! If you don't do well in his class it's bc you didn't try. Ask questions! Talk! You won't be sorry!

I really loved this course. It was very simple: just post a discussion board response and reply to someone else's response once every 2 weeks, we had 3 exams (essays, not tests), and 4 field study observations. 3 field studies can be videos and 1 has to be a trip somewhere. I went to an AA meeting and it really changed my perspective on life.

This professor is so helpful yet EASY!! Just show up and pay attention to lectures everything on lectures is on tests ! He does have a ton of quizzes but they are really easy ! Class work is easy as well

He is an awesome professor! I'm taking his hybrid winter session and it is easy and very interesting! The only way you can fail is if you don't do anything.

Prof. Guttman class was a joy as well as having him as a professor he is an outstanding man who cares about his job and teaching. However- you have to TRY and fail his class. He has quizzes every other day that can only help your grade. however i stopped showing but he was very supportive in my concerns even though i did not pass. Would take again

Professor Guttman is an awesome professor! Really good lectures and he really knows what he is talking about. 4 essays are required. Don't worry though. You can either do the essays or independent field trips. I encourage you to take field trips because they're more fun and much easier. Book was not needed at all!

So I have just signed up to take my THIRD course with Dr. G. I had him for Psy 101, Psy 213, and am currently taking him for Psy 225. It is rare to find a teacher you would take twice let alone 3 times. He's very clear on what he expects. Distance Ed. he is very responsive and super involved. Doesn't just beat your head with a textbook. You LEARN!

He is great! I wish more teachers were like him!

Wow such an amazing professor! He makes it really easy for everyone to receive an A in the class. He has 4 papers but he gives you the option to go on a field trip instead of doing the paper! How cool is that? The field trips will change your perspective on life. I recently changed my major to psychology b/c of his class. TAKE HIM.

Dr. G is a wonderful professor. He is very knowledgeable and loves what he does. Loved his class, very enjoyable and would definitely take him again. I wish more professors were like him.

Okay lets start! He is an amazing professor. His lectures are always interesting, he gives out the notes on blackboard however, there is a small quiz at the end of most lectures. He gives a total of four papers which are super easy. If you pay attention in class you will pass the four exams he gives you. Take him you won't regret it.

Kenneth Guttman is AMAZING! Ive taken 2 of his online psy classes. I wish I chose him for psychology 101 instead of Gibson.... He really does care and wants you to pass! There are 3 exams. 4 virtual field trips that are written essays & discussion board posts due weekly. The class was very straight-forward and there is a clear grading criteria of what Professor Guttman expects from his students. For me it was an easy A class - i never purchased the book and just went off what i learned in other Psych classes.

Best teacher I've taken at citrus college! Really enjoyed every second of the class. Papers were so simple and he isn't picky about grammar only the content. He is extremely smart in his field and entertaining in his lectures. Class is not hard at all and I'm planning on taking him again for other psychology classes. Great teacher, take him!

Not only did he KNOW the material, but most of the examples were his first-hand experiences. Great class. Daily lessons (with the occasional pop-up assignment for those who never attend), multiple quizzes, 4 exams, and 4 papers that are interchangeable with independent field trips. Easy to pass if you put some work in.

Professor Guttman is a good teacher to take online classes from. He is very responsive and posts things ahead of time so you can be sure to get things done. Assignments were also very interesting. Good teacher, I highly recommend him!

Dr. G is an awesome professor! He was formerly a practicing therapist, so he not only knows the book material but also has first hand experiences that he shares with his class. He makes all his lecture notes and material available online. If you do the field trips instead of papers, you will not have to do any writing. I would highly recommend him!

I really enjoyed this course. Was a little worried it was going to be ridiculously difficult but it was actually one of the most easiest and most rewarding classes I have taken so far. Take advantage of the agenda and get your assignments done early since he gives you everything at the start of the semester. :)

I wouldnt say psy 13 is easy, however I have taken other courses. Which require many papers and I could see how this class would be challenging to some. I am a natural writer however and had a great time researching interesting and scary topics in this class. I wish I could take him for more courses.

Guttman is a true rarity, he is incredible. He's sweet and very sarcastic! He enjoys teaching and is close to retiring so take advantage while you can! He has so much knowledge to offer and loves questions and debate.

I took this class over the summer so our papers were almost due back to back (still very manageable) however the larger papers were more spread out. He gave practice quizzes that you do as a class and gives extra credit on the tests. He really likes to engage the class in discussion and he listens to what you have to say. Lecture is never boring.

As a highschool sophomore, I was nervous about taking this class, it turned out to be one of the best classes I've ever taken!! Professor Guttman is amazing and gives lots of extra credit! His papers are not hard at all, and he prepares you super well for the tests! Plus, he helps you on the quizzes. I would definitely advise taking this class!

Professor Guttman is the best teacher I've ever had. He is truly such a genuine, caring person. He has become a mentor to me and inspired me to work as hard as I can for my career in psychology. As long as you show up, do the work, and study you will pass with an A. As long as you communicate with him, he will be lenient with you.

Great psy professor! Does not give homework only quizzes that he will give the answers to in class. There are four papers and four tests including the final. Dont be intimidated about the papers I knew nothing about psychology and I still received good grades on the papers! He posts the exam materials on canvas. No need for textbook

Participation does not matter for his grading, but to understand the material BETTER, it helps. Gives his powerpoint on canvas that help for test. VERY COOL PROFESSOR. Willing to help you IF you're not just freeloading trying to get answers. 15 easy quizzes on canvas. 4 easy papers to work on for a month. 4 test that are not so easy on campus

As a current Grad student, I cannot thank this man enough for his dedication to teaching. He is a great prof and lectures well. He is knowledgable about anything psychological. I respect Dr. G. and he loves teaching. He is passionate about his field-take him before he retires, you will not regret it! One of the BEST professors you can take by far!

Ken Guttman was one of the most wonderful professors I had at Citrus. I learned so much from him, and loved his class and lectures! He was a truly kind and caring teacher. I was really sad to hear that he passed away this year. Rest in Peace, Ken.

Has clear grading guidelines. He is lecture heavy - attend his class so you don't miss out on info. You are able to print his lecture notes ahead of time, take them to class to jot important info he goes over. Easy A if you do the work and study for the exams. Don't waste his time before or after class he likes you to make office appointments.
