One of best college professor I've ever had. For those who rated him low, it's MATH for Christ's sake, you have to work a little. I got an A, but I worked for it. It's not that hard. I'm at UNLV now, and I use what he taught me every day, in EVERY class.

Ken is a laid back prof, very helpful. I took an online course with him, one day a week in class, and couldn't have asked for a better class. He is easy to get ahold of and is intent on making sure the student understands the material, but you have to ask the questions! Loved the class.

Ken is the greatest. Who better to learn from than the writer of the book. He's so easy and so fun. yeah you have to work at it but why not. That's all you do in class.

He encourages students to be creative. His problem solving class is WAY easy at first, then gets tougher halfway in. Show %100 of your work or else you get marked down. Problems are usually a page write-up each, however, you ONLY have 5 a week! Keep up by doing 1 per weekday and u'll get an A or B!

Ken is extremely accomodating, he is willing to help anyone who needs it. He meets with you beyond office hours if you need him to. Yes he assigns alot of homework, but how will you learn if you don't practice? He really wants his students to learn and he will do what he can to make that happen!!

I loved professor Johnson. He made calculus comprehendable and did an awesome job. As long as you keep up with the homework, are a hard worker and not afraid to ask for help...this class is not bad at all...this is coming from a person who is not a math whiz and I made it out with an 88%. I would recommend him to anyone.

He's so helpful and nice! if you are honest and upfront with him he will give you chances and help you like no other. He's only hard if and assings a lot of homework so you learn- get a life you lazy jerks!

Seriously one of the GREATEST teachers I have ever taken. Extreemly helpfull! He is a great person, I reccomend him to everyone! There is a lot of work in the class but you get to work in groups basically the whole time - even for the final!!!

Very nice guy and very available to help. However, he is an extremely tough grader. Don't worry too much about homework or quizzes, those scores barely count for anything. If your GPA is important I would suggest looking elsewhere.

This was the best class I've taken online. Yes, it was a lot of work, but well worth it. Ken is the best! He's fair, very helpful, and always available. He's clear, thorough, and prompt. I will definitely take another one of his classes (even if I don't need any more math)! Ken rocks!

Professor Johnson is extremely helpful whenever a student needs help, he walks into the math center on occasion, and does his best to help students learn. Be there every class session, do EVERY homework assignment COMPLETELY, use the math center, ask for help when you need it, and you should do fine.

Ken is the greatest math teacher's I've ever had. But why the hell do people rate him bad because of workload? CALCULUS IS HARD. And you aren't going to learn it if you don't DO IT. Oh-- Warning: You're sense of humor may be alterned in an undesirably geeky fashion. Cheers.

Ken Johnson is awesome. His online class is difficult, but he's willing to work with anyone who is having difficulty. He is extremely flexible! I highly recommend Algebra A & D with him!

Ken is a very genuine person. Any one who says he sucks isn't trying hard enough. He expects a lot but his approach is fair. His goal is to prepare college students for "real life". You get what you work for. If every teacher had his philosophy, California's educational system wouldn't be in the dumps.

This class was absolutely amazing! Totally changed my perspective on many things and Ken is such a cool professor. Did you ever say to yourself in highschool math "When am I ever going to use this stuff?" Well then this class if for you! Take it, you'll be glad you did.

The best educator I've ever met. The only thing he cares about is that his students learn Calculus (or Algebra or whatever). He's not easy, so if you want a quick A, then go somewhere else, but if you want to learn the subject, take Johnson. Sounds crazy, but you'll actually enjoy going to his class. I did Ken's online class and it is very easy! As long as you keep up with your work you wont have any problems! He gives you homework problems but you don't have to turn them in. He just grades the exams and quizes. Gives out study guides very similar to the tests. Easy A!!

Mr. Johnson is the best!!!! he's so nice n friendly. Just make sure that u do the HWs n show that u do care about the class u r gonna pass. He sometimes made random joke n eventhou they rnt funny buh @ least he tried n that's really nice of him :]. I did learn a lot from his lecture w/o reading the book. Overall, he's a gud teacher.

Very great teacher! I learned a lot from him. His exams aren't as bad as people claim them to be. He's a very nice person so don't be afraid to stop by his office. He gives out extra credit for hw when you spend about 5 hours in the math center per a week.

Ken Johnson is amazing! I'm not a huge math fan but he was great. Always helpful with great ways of explaining problems. This class was also great for everyday math. He even wrote the textbook for the class. Always choose Ken if you can for a teacher

I took Ken for math 31 a while back and he is probably my favorite math teacher I've had at sierra college. very random and funny, very clear with lecture and notes. If you can get in a class that has close to his sense of humor you will have a wonderful time with math. And to Ken "33"

What a fun class! I loved the subject matter--a whole class devoted to solving word puzzles. Ken's class is well-organized and entertaining. Lots of work; but if you can take the time to read the book (written by the instructor) and do the homework, you should do fine. This was the best class I've ever taken, and I learned a lot.

Really funny guy. Also an excellent teacher. I think that Ken is one of the best teacher's at Sierra mostly due tothe fact that he makes things so easy to understand. He really knows what he is talking about. I would recommend to anyone.

He's a funny guy even when you don't get his jokes. Anyway he's excellent at explaining the subject. His tests can be hard but he tells you what he'll test you on upfront, so if you study and do your homework, it's not really that bad.

Ken Johnson is the best prof at Sierra. He is engaging and will make you love math if you don't already. His jokes are great, as is his sense of humor, and he is just an all around nice guy. I would take another class from him without hesitation.

Ken Johnson was a great teacher! I was dreading the class and I ended up enjoying it. I was an older returning to college student meeting a requirement. Excellent class presentation, math lab available, encouragement, JOKES--I would recommend this class! Group work, team skills, must come to class prepared to learn the most.

Ken is an awesome teacher, will help you with getting to the answer; he will not give you the answer. Focus on how you get to your answers and explaining it. I loved Problem Solving. extremely useful and fun even!

Awesome teacher. Problem Solving is the best class you could possibly take at Sierra College. The toughest part is the weekly write ups but he gives you plenty of time in class to solve the problems in groups.

I took his online Math D. It is a lot of work, but he is very helpful if you need it or leaves you alone if you are able to manage on your own. Stays in constant communication. Flexible with the schedule. Be prepared to work A LOT! It gets easier towards the end of the class.Exams are oncampus

Excellent teacher. He is very helpful and definitely knows the material as he helped write the text book. This class is completely applicable to everyday life, something I will actually use outside of school. All you need is common logic and reasoning.

Ken is an extremely helpful teacher. I took his his online math a class and he was very good about answering all my emails ad did so almost always within a few hours. There is a LOT of homework but as long as you keep up you will be fine. I was able to take this and two other classes at the same time and passed and math is not my subject!

I highly recommend taking him over any other math professor. He makes the boring subject of math fun and entertaining. Just do all the homework and you will get an easy A.

He shows you how to think about math. LIke a mathematician. He helps students understand what math is. He will stop and clarify something you should already know and doesn't makes you scared to ask anything.VERY CLEAR. He is the funniest teacher I have met. I wish I could take him for all my math sequences. He cares about understanding. Not strict.

Awesome teacher! Very clear and easy to understand. I despised math before this. Super easy, doesn't assign due dates on homework so if you fall behind it won't hurt your grade.

I LOVED Ken. He is always cracking jokes that are the stupid/funny kind. I always laughed. He has really great tips and really cares about his students. He is into music/choir/musical theater so if you are into that you will never stop talking. I did a good job in his class and I owe it to him. Take his class!

Be aware that if you wanna pass this class you need to work your butt off. There are Assignment each week that can take up to 20 hours doing them, but at the same time great class and awesome teacher. Take problem sets seriously. you have to to well on them to pass. I would suggest taking this class to everyone

Ken is an outstanding teacher. He makes every class interesting and fun. Does a great job of teaching and explaining the subject. His tests are fairly easy if you put in the work. Homework due dates are flexible. My only complaint is that he is too lenient on disruptive students. Cant wait to take his MATH 10 class in the fall.

This was the most work I've had to do for a Math class BUT... Mr. Johnson is awesome he really wants students to be successful and he gives you all of the tools to do this. Lots of group work, I'm not a math lover and this was the most enjoyable math I've ever taken. Highly suggested!

Great teacher! He lets you know ahead of time about quizzes and tests. Most of the work is done online, but he does alot of teaching and lecturing during class. Just ask and he'll make sure you understand it.

I have always struggled in math and wasn't looking forward to taking Math A. But Ken really believes in his students and because of him I actually enjoyed it. I even took Math D from him the next semester. Don't fall behind in the homework, it would be hard to catch up. He is also open to students dropping into his office hours.

I had just come back to school and Ken made my Math A class very enjoyable last semester. For people who do not enjoy Math, you will have to work at it. His tests are fair and if you pay attention in class, you will do fine. Ken uses technology to make sure he stays in touch with students which is a huge plus. Expect emails before major due dates!

Mr. Johnson is a great teacher. His class is not easy, but he is very approachable and he will answer any question and explain everything in the most basic form. You will not be able to slack off and get away with it. If you really want to learn take his class. Im very confident because of the foundation he has helped me build for calculus.

Ken is a great teacher that actually cares about his students, he spends the first few classes trying to learn names and getting to know the students, by the 3rd, he knew everybody's name first try! when he teaches, if the class didnt really understand the concept, he'd slow down to make sure we all understood. Ken is an awesome professor who understands the material he is teaching. This class is not easy and there is a lot of work but you will know what is expected of you one hundred percent of the time. I recommend this class you not only learn about the class itself but you can use the skill sets in everyday life.

This guy is one professor who really cares about his students, he really wants you to succeed sometimes more than you yourself do. He is very easy to understand and you feel really comfortable asking questions when you don't. In this class I never felt like I ever messed up, only provided room for improvement. This class is a lot of work; not an easy A! He uses mymathlab (about $150). 2 online exams, 2 on campus exams, and several quizzes. He is very clear about his expectations and responds quickly to email. Seems like a nice guy.

There were a lot of HW assignments and quizzes. Two online exams and an in-person midterm and final. You must study extensively to do well on the quizzes and exams. If your goal is to move on to higher level math, take this course with Professor Johnson, since you'll leave fully understanding the material. People seeking easy A's stay away.

Not the easiest class but Prof. Johnson is a great teacher and his lectures are very clear. He wants all of his students to succeed and will help you understand anything if you ask. There are class group quizzes and there is an online test about every two weeks. Tests can be hard but if you do the online hw (mandatory), and study you should well.

If you are someone who struggles with Math, Professor Johnson is the one to take. He is compassionate and willing to help if you are pro active and seek his help. I would not have passed without his help.

Ken is an absolutely wonderful professor. He is very inspirational and is ALWAYS open to help people. He makes his office hours very well known, so that he can offer as much help as possible. My favorite teacher, really hard, but willing to explain anything in detail. He took one of my least favorite subjects and made it the most fun class I had that semester.

I always hated math and still do but Professor Johnson was an amazing instructor. He really took the time to explain and answer questions without making you feel dumb. I always found his corny jokes to be quite hilarious.

Math24 was not easy but Professor Johnson is a good teacher and will put in the effort if you meet him halfway. Readily prepares students for tests but you must show up, engage, and do the homework. Don't sit in the back, learning happens in the front row! The material is really interesting & relevant to personal finances so I enjoyed the class.

Love this teacher, even though I'm currently failing but it's all on me, he is a very good teacher. If you're struggling on a problem he is willing to help you if you need it. Ken is amazing. Tries to be funny, which is hilarious to watch. Relates material to the real world. Always there for you when you have a question. My only gripe was he tends to run the class without discipline. I was often distracted by students chatting, which he does not mind, and will occasionally participate in. He is an awesome guy, and prof.

Professor Johnson makes every effort possible to help his students pass this course. Ive never had a teacher email to remind students to turn in homework and complete quizzes but it seems in this class, he had to. As long as you complete the homework, take the chapter quizzes, watch the lectures and complete the review testsyou will pass.

Professor Johnson was an amazing math teacher! Do yourself a favor and take his class, he was so caring and really looked after his online students. I only got to meet him a couple of times in person but he seemed like a really nice guy- very caring! Definitely there to help if you need it. Made math bearable haha. Overall great professor!

Professor Johnson is brilliant. I wish he taught more classes. Highly organized, funny, approachable, and will give you all the right tools to succeed. I find myself comparing my current teachers methods to his. I highly recommend! Going to class is imperative if you want an A but his teaching methods are fullproof as long as you put in the effort.

Took Ken Johnson for problem solving and although it was a tough class I absolutely loved it. There is a lot of work and you definitely have to do the homework to be able to pass. I missed maybe 5 classes throughout the semester and still got a B. The more you attend the better you'll do. I'm taking Johnson this semester for Math 12.

I took Math D as a student who hates math and avoided taking it until I absolutely had to. I am really glad I took it with Professor Johnson because he is a great professor. very intelligent and patient with students! Passionate about teaching and has evidently studied really bad math jokes and tries his best to be funny.

He was the best Math 24 teacher in SC. His lectures in class are very helpful, so DO NOT MISS CLASS! If you do, you will be lost. Take home exams are very challenging but it helps you learn to work together with other classmates. Take him if you are taking Math 24. He is hard but you will learn.
