Fun and funny teacher. Tests are almost pure vocabulary so take good notes. Lectures always prove entertaining (basal disk crawl) and informative. Gets you to look at the world differently.

Ken is unbelievably clear and organized. He's ALWAYS prepared for his classes and is very helpful when you ask him questions or have concerns. Definitely go for his class!

Ken is a graet teacher who always has his class notes at hand. He makes bio fun and he brings in different things fo the class to look at which are relivant to the class. if you need help he is there and as long as you study for his class you will do fine. watch out for the lab techs tho.

Ken is probably one of the coolest teachers around. He makes learning very easy, hes got a good sense of humour and tons of cool stuff that he brings in to class. If you study whats given to you the tests and quizzes are no problem. Super nice and extremely helpful. Clear and concise notes.

Dude, this guy is friggin awesome! Very laid back and chillaxed but loves what he studies. He's definately got enthusiasm for his subject and is very knowledgable and helpful - very clear concise notes. He makes your studying and class time easy and enjoyable

Ken is a great teacher!!! He gives very clear notes (w/handouts as well!!) His tests come from notes.. No need to study from textbook anymore! He is enthusiastic in teaching and gives the class a "mystery" item everyday to guess! I'll be taking him again for sure in Biol 1215... Tests can be a little tricky but just study hard and you'll be fine.

Ken is an awesome instructor. He teaches with enthusiasm. You'll soon find yourself interested with invertebrates. If he doesn't know the answer to a question, he'll give you a scientific guess, base from facts, etc. You have to come to class to understand the lessons. Recommended if you're hard working since exams are on the tough side. Will take him again (InvertBio).

Ken is a great teacher. I just had the final exam yesterday. It was fine. Though I ended the course with a C+, i do not regret taking this class with him at all. He is the best bio teacher there is. Too bad i could not get into his bio 1215 class. Im gonna miss ur class Ken!

Ken is an awesome teacher, one of the best I've ever had. He's a teacher who is really into teaching and knows his stuff. Every class he shows us these "Mystery Items" and talks about them. Funny guy. Tests are fair. I was a little disappointed with my mark cause I only got a C+. If you study hard you'll get an A.

He is a very enthusiastic teacher, and cares about his students. I didn't really like the tests - he asked too many questions that forced you to extrapolate from the material, which is more of a test of your imagination than your knowledge. But overall it was a good course.

Ken is an awesome teacher. He's funny and makes the class interested. His tests aren't too bad (of course if u study) but I'm a lil disappointed w/ his final.. But I really did learned alot in his class b/c of his teaching style and that he never makes u fall asleep!!! So, be glad & consider urself lucky if u can reg in his class.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Take him for 1st year if possible. 2nd year Invert is a blast! Recommend it to anyone. Class is always exciting, and labs are all hands-on. Plus, you get to go to Bamfield, which is insane. Most interesting class i've ever taken.

His class lectures are interesting and he's very interesting to watch. It's crucial that you get all his notes from his in class lectures and study them really well and you'll do very good on his exams and quizzes. His notes are extremely clear and easy to read.

Excellent! Even, that doesn't completely say it about Mr.Naumann... he's beyond words... just GREAT! Always with a smile on his face... of the likes of those cute disney characters! I hated Bio for being an all memorization course, but Ken's fairytale like teaching makes it all a breeze. Crystal clear notes, easiest exams!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :).

Took BIOL 1115 with Ken and he really made the subject matter interesting and I looked forward to the 8:30am class (which says something in itself). Unfortunately, he wasn't able to finish teaching the class that semester and we ended up having Cam Macdonald and Anoush Dadgar who were far less knowledgeable or interesting. Take Ken if you can.

Interesting course. Great teacher! Made the whole lecture interesting and very engaging. Tho the lecture is 2 hrs long, it doesn't tire me at all. He has a very clear way to explain things. Always look fwd to attend his classes. Bottom line..Highly recommended!! :)

All exam questions are based on his notes. only downfall is if you miss a class you HAVE to get the notes off someone. He's also good looking. if you're gonna take Bio, take it with him. He's great!

His notes are clear, structured, and fairly easy to comprehend. All of his test questions are directly from his notes. The only thing is that you have to take notes in class so attending class is pretty important. As a person, he's super nice and very helpful. I would take another class with him.

Ken is a great prof. His notes are a streamlined version of the text. he picks out all of the important parts of the text so you dont memorize stuff you dont need. attendance is mandatory though. you need to go to class to get the material that will be covered in the exam. He is extremely helpful and it is possible to get a good mark.

Ken is a fantastic teacher. My classes with him were 2 hour classes and every time he said "okay let's end it there today" I was always ready to go another 2 hours. He explains things well and is very willing to help with any question you might have. Can't wait to have him again.

One of the best teachers I've had at Langara. No need to buy the expensive text book. His notes are clear and understanding them is all you need to do well. He's so nice, easy to talk to, helpful, passionate. I'm not strong academically, but I've been getting good marks in his class. He keeps things interesting and fun. Definitely recommend!

The best biology teacher I've ever had! Ken explains everything clearly and thoroughly, and adds jokes to his lectures which spices up the class! He is willing to dedicate all the time in the world to help students with anything they want! You don't even have to buy the textbook; his tests are straight from his notes! No killer questions on tests!

Best bio teacher ever. His notes are crystal clear, at least to me, and he explains everything in full. I never studied the textbooks, only his notes that he gives during lecture and I did fine on the tests. You can only get the notes in class though so attendance is sort of required. I would definitely take him again!

Ken is fantastic, take him! His notes are perfectly distilled, no excess. I only used the text as a reference for more detail. Everything that we were tested on came right from the notes. Good humour, and interesting anecdotes. Brings in fossils almost every class. Also, he's a very fair (maybe generous) marker, which helps.

Quizzes almost ever week based on the most recently learned chapter or section of lecture notes. Both exams and quiz questions are directly out of lecture notes, knowing how to explain and connect concepts helps a lot when writing exams. Very straight forward. Textbook only used for its pictures and for definitions and to fill out lab manual.

Ken is just simply amazing. He is so knowledgeable and explains everything in ways that EVERYONE can understand.you cannot get good marks in this class without studying, but Ken sets it up so that if you do study, you WILL do well. Best teacher I have ever had.

A good teacher but not for the faint of heart. His final is really interesting though, as it makes you really put what you learned to practical use. He really has a passion for what he teaches though and it shows. Does a lot of hands-on examples of what he teaches in class, which helps. He is laid back, but his quizs are rather brutal.

I took Ken for 1115 and 1215. His classes are always interesting and the notes are very clear. The weekly quizzes really help with studying for the midterms. He is always avaliable to ask questions in the labs. Take this prof if you want a good mark in Bio. If you study his notes and review you'll do well.

Greatest teacher I've ever had. Very organized, very fair marker, teaches really well, brings fossils every class which he collected himself then asks students to guess what they are. I love the way he maintains his eye level with whom he's speaking to, and his smile is always sincere :) quizes every week, midterms, finals, all based on notes.

I wish he could teach all biology courses in Langara! He's not only an awesome instructor, but also a very nice guy! No textbook! His quizzes are purely based on notes so you'd better take good ones and attend class. He's approachable, on topic, flexible. The exams are hard, but you shouldn't fail them as long as you attended class. Assignments are easy, just follow instructions

I only had ken for one class first year, but now in my third year he still asks me about my day when I run into him in the halls. He is so interested in teaching it's unreal. He does a great job at it too.

Ken is brilliant AND a great teacher. His lectures were so clear (and funny) that I barely needed to review my notes for quizzes - just had to brush up on names. Pay attention to the lectures, and labs will go much better for knowing "why" you're doing them. Also, passing around 2bil year old fossils like it's no big thing? COOL!

Ken was a great instructor and this course was very interesting. I went into this course hating biology from high school, but now I'm planning on taking a course in mathematical biology. It's no surprise that he won an excellence in teaching award. Thanks Dr. Naumann (and yes, the fossils were neat).

His lecturing skills are phenomenal. He doesn't just babble using jargons (which we're trying to learn in the first place! coughproffscough!!) He explains everything in layman's terms first and then explains what bio 1115 equivalent is, or vice versa. He has weekly quizzes that are clear cut, if you were paying attention in lecture easy 10/10.

Best prof I've had. He's super knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches and explains things in super simple terms, which a LOT of profs don't. His lectures are awesome and he gives fantastic examples to what he's teaching that makes it easy to relate and also extremely memorable. Such a nice guy as well and loves showing off his family!

His multiple choice questions are tough. A little on the tricky side, weird wording of questions. I managed to get an A with no textbook. Know your stuff and pay attention to the outline in the beginning of the notes, make sure you can explain all the points. He is great when it comes to lab time. But I would not take him again.

Ken is a very nice and enthusiastic teacher. He states very clear what he expects from you, just attend classes and focus on his handouts, you will get an A+ like I do. Ken teaches the material very well. For and biology course memorization takes time to study but the lectures and note packets Ken provides makes it super easy to study the correct material. The quizzes are super straight forward from the notes and exams are the same way. Send some time studying and you'll do very well.

The most amazing biology class ever had. Passes out fossils or materials to give us a wider sight in biology. Very consistent and gives clear instructions. Sometimes he tells you not to copy sth on the board and asks u to do it at home by urself, which can efficiently gain a better understanding of the materials.

If you thinking of taking Biology courses, take Ken! I had him for the first semester at Langara, and his lectures were amazingly good! He inspired me to study more biology and I really enjoy it. His exams are hard, I have to say. You need a lot of preparation for them. But he's always there for you to help, and he's one of the greatest bio prof!!

Dude. Do it. Nauman is a very animated teacher, so his lectures will not put you to sleep. There's a lot of material and the tests are a little heavy, but trust me you'll do fine as long as you take good notes and study. I genuinely enjoyed his lectures and I hope you will too :)

Ken is a very caring professor who is opened with questions that his students ask. Hi explanations and responses to the students' questions are so clear and thorough. He gives weekly quizzes (not very hard) on his power point lecture notes and you will be able to answer them without any difficulty as long as you review your notes regularly

If you want to understand and not memorize biology he is an amazing teacher!! comes up with great ways to explain complex topics and does weekly tutorials to go over any questions follow with weekly quiz which usually are based on lecture workbook questions. study the notes given for midterms and youre good

Ken is really amazing! This is my second time taking the course because clearly, my first professor wasn't good at all. This is a heavily loaded course so your professor does matter! He provides fill in the blank notes and makes sure you understand the topic rather than memorize it. DO the workbooks for an easy pass. Just great!

Ken is the best! He knows everything in detail. There are weekly quizzes, which are not very hard. Two midterms and one final exam, that was harder than expected.

he's the best! weekly routine of watching videos and filling out your notes and workbook, also weekly quizzes, so you can keep up with the materials and wouldn't struggle as much on the exams. they're a bit trickier than expected but not too bad! 10/10!

best bio prof I've ever had! attend the tutorials, pay attention and take notes and you'll do fine. ALWAYS do the workbook questions, they help so much and sometimes he'll give the same/similar questions on exams. lectures are enjoyable to watch and not super long, overall super chill 10/10 would recommend.

Ken is an incredibly knowledgeable professor and his lectures were very interesting. I found this course very difficult as there was a lot of material to study for exams. It takes a lot of studying but overall a great course and professor.

ken is hands down one of the best teachers I've ever had. he's passionate about ecology & it really comes across in his lectures, which make them a lot more enjoyable. it's a memorization-heavy course, but he makes the content interesting (even brings in fossils & other cool stuff to look at) & weekly quizzes have similar questions to the exams.

He is a great professor but a little hard marker. His lectures are very interesting , if you want to have a good biology class with interesting fossilised rocks and shells in class, go for him.

Ken helps make the class more enjoyable, entertaining, and lively! He brings in fossils or little items each week to try and engage the class! There is a lot of material to be covered but feel free to reach out to him if some things aren't clicking right away. Make sure to do the workbook questions as he puts similar ones on the test!

I love biology and I loved this class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you'll fall behind in note packages if you miss a lot. It is very note heavy but bio always is. He is one of my favourite professors in Langara. He gives notes with a small amount of wording with the main ideas which is very helpful as a study guide. Also, he is very nice and helpful in terms of asking questions and going to his office hours.

Ken is such an amazing individual Biology 1115 and 1118 with him has ben such an amazing adventure. He is precise with his notes and does not give unnecessary information. His questions require you to apply the knowledge learnt from class and he never asks anything not to do with what he teaches.

Ken's classes are engaging and focused on understanding, not just memorizing. The weekly quizzes keep you on track, and his comprehensive notes make studying a breeze. Definitely try Unstuck ai for extra prep - it's a lifesaver!

Ken is literally marvellous. I would have him as my bio college prof in every life if I reincarcinated. He truly cares about his students and is a super geek for biology. His lectures are really fun and he uses great examples to visualize more complex topics. I'm probably a bit biased since I love bio myself but he really teaches well!!!

Ken is fantastic! He's incredibly passionate about Biology and uses examples for each term so that it is easy to follow! The classes are very subject heavy, and he doesn't print the notes packages, which is a bit of a nuisance, however his immersive lectures make up for it! I highly recommend him for anybody needing a biology class.

He teaches just as great when he taught 1115. Though 1215 was a lot more heavier than 1115 I had to double my study for some units. If you do have him as your prof, pop by his office frequently and ask him questions. There were times that I wish that I asked him but never did. He's very kind and always willing to clarify anything.

Ken is an an amazing and enthusiastic prof. His lectures are very important, he explains concepts very well and ensures that students gets a well understanding. His weekly quizzes are very helpful as it ensures you to always be on track. Although his midterms are bit hard, by doing his workbook questions and note package questions, I got an A+.

He is GOATed and rightfully so. Super passionate about teaching. Bio is a lot so don't expect good grades from just doing nothing. He's chill and super knowledgeable about his fossils. Do not skip any classes, he uses every single bit of class time to do lectures. Would recommend

His quizzes are straightforward, but his midterms are somewhat tough and require more detail on specific processes. Overall, an amazing prof!
