Ahh...the dreaded Organic! I got a D in his class, but he's still an awesome professor! Went out of his way to help us!

Best teacher I've had at Marshall. Is only a Part-timer, but will go out of his way for anyone. Helped make Organic very clear. I would emphatically recommend him to anyone.

Very helpful in Organic! Will go out of his way to help you understand the concept, mech etc. BE VERY PREPARED FOR THE TEST, BE WILLING TO STUDY! Much more easy to understand than other prof (except for Morgan, he's pretty good too!).

One of the best Organic Professors to take and is very helpful to get students to understand the concepts of organic chemistry. Needs to be placed to full time professor not part-time. We really need him here in the Chemistry dept.

About the easiest of the Organic professors. He is nice to you if you do well, but if you start doing worse then he doesn't act as nice.

The easiest class I've ever taken. Yeah even if its only nursing organic, lots of people have struggles, but probably because they don't bother to open their book until 5 minutes before the test. I highly recommend him.

Excellent teacher. Injects humor into the class and will go over an example until you understand. He needs to be a full-time teacher. He really cares about his students. Not many teachers give you their home number and offer their time on the weekend.

This guy is great. He is very helpful and willing to help you any way he can.He will even meet you outside of class if you need extra help.

Dr. Oconnor is a great teacher and a great person. He is always available for help and really helps to get you prepared for the tests. He even provides two study guides that he publishes just for his class. Take him if you have the chance!

He is very tough when it comes to grading and on quizzes but he is willing to help you to understand what you are doing wrong.

He is very smart and very helpful! The class is hard at first but gets to be easy if you study any at all. Take this class!

This professor was very good. He was a little hard to understand at times, but he didn't care to take time on the subject. He was also pretty funny at times, and gives you study guides for all of the tests..including the final.

Dr.O'Connor is a great teacher. He really will work with you to help you understand the labs. You only have to do LAb reports and a few quizzes which he gives study guides to. Let him grade your labs! The TAs grade very hard. I will miss O'Connor for 218.

Dr. O'Connor is extremely helpful and wants more than anything for you to understand. Answers any questions and has a great sense of humor. You do have quizzes and several lab reports, which he gives guides for.

He starts out being a real anus, but he gets alot better. He imporves alot. His tests and quizzes aren't the easiest but they are completely fair. I would recommend O'Connor.

Great teacher, tells you everything you need to know in class as long as you pay attention. Gives great study guides and works hard to let students know everything that is going on through email. I just wish he were my CHM 211 professor, damn Norton.

Prof. O'Connor is great as a teacher. The labs are pretty easy, but the tests are kind of hard, but that goes with the material. He is very fair with his tests and grading methods, and really cares that you do well. I definitely recommend him! :)

ko, is the bomb. he is the only professor i passed at marshall. he is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you pass the class and understand whats going on. although he may go a little fast at times. just ask him to slow down and he will.

Everything is good except the blackboard writing is difficult to read.

He takes a difficult class that other professors seem to make extra hard, and instead makes it understanable. He gives you every oppurtunity to better your grade and pass the class the first time! Tells some good jokes too...Great teacher!

Dr. O'Connor is a very friendly and fair teacher. Always ready to help those student with the drive to succeed. He also tries very hard to get all student motivated and prepared to do their very best.

Dr. O'Connor is probably the best to take for organic I. I learned so much from him. He is clear in his expectations, and there were no surprises when it came to his tests. Easy to contact, makes time for his students. It's a shame he's only part-time.

Dr O'Connor is an awesome prof. He really knows his stuff plus he's one of the most willing teachers I've ever met. His hilarious little stories make lectures worth it...and just because of one of those stories I give him a HOT rating!

Dr. O'Connor is a great professor! He is pretty fast paced, but it's just part of his personality. He is thorough and completely explains things. He encourages questions. (He also goes on random tangents that make the class funny and interesting.)Take him if at all possible!

He is a nice man and can be out there sometimes. But he tries to make the class fun so you cant hate him. H is very helpful and always welling to give you a hand. It you need and ISC class take him or if you want a good grade booster, try to get him.

He's very different to say the least. But his class is simple, do your work, take the online quizzes, and show up to lab, you'll pass.

He's very easy to follow in lab. Whereas most teachers have their TA's check for problems in the lab, he does them himself. He has a very dry sense of humor. Great guy! He tells you EXACTLY what to study for the lab midterm and final! Definitely take him for lab. I only wish I could have taken him for 211. Would have saved some heartache!

He is amazing! If you have the opportunity to take him for Organic DO IT! His class is by no means easy (it is Organic) but he goes out of his way to help you understand the material. He gives you all kinds of review material so you know exactly what to expect from his tests. It was still a lot of hard work but I did end up getting an A. Take him!

Dr. OConnor is a great professor! I loved him! He makes study guides and practice tests for every test! He lets you know exactly what will be on the tests and there is NO cummulative final at all which is great! He has a weird sense of humor but he's funny! HIGHLY recommend taking him!!!! LOVE this professor. He has a quirky sense of humor and he only teaches you what you need to know for the tests. Gives study guides/practice exams that are pretty similar to the exams, and lets you retake one exam over the semester. DEFINITELY take him if you need CHM 204!!!

Great teacher! He has a dry sense of humor sometimes. But is always helpful when you need it. He lets you retake one test so if you on't do so well can get a better grade. I have him for 204 as well and would recommend him to anyone!!!

I really enjoyed having Dr. Oconnor. He explained things well and is a pretty cool guy. Make sure you pay attention when he gives the common name for a substance. He only gives it once or twice and it will probably be on the test.

His tests can be tricky toward the end of class. The material gets a lot harder but he tries to teach well. He cares, but it gets really annoying when he walks around the classroom to see if you are doing what he asked.

Great class- if You have to take Organic 1 and 2, take OConnor. Make sure to study the things he tells you will be one the test and you will do fine. Easy to get along with.

The tests he gives can be tricky, but you will do fine as long as you study and do the practice tests. His class was very enjoyable due to his jokes and stories. Class time goes by pretty quickly. Great teacher!

Dr. O'Conor is definitely one of the best professors i have ever had. His tests are hard but fair just do the homework in the back of the chapter and it will be ok. his class is a blast he is always telling jokes and stories. If you have to take chemistry take him.

Lab was fun, very good at explaining what needed to be done. If you have the chance take both his lab and lecture. It really helps!

Chemisty in the home. So worth the drive! Way easy, only met for class about once a month. Do have to write a few papers, but if you do them you pretty much get full credit. Aweseome class. Take him!

I have had 7 different chem profs in 2 different colleges; Dr. O'Connor is the BEST chemistry professor! He is very enthusiastic &actually makes chemistry fun. He is a really great teacher, although the tests are hard, you have to do the homework to do well on the tests. This was his 1st time teaching 212 and he did a really good job. I also had him for 211 and 217 he was EXCELLENT in those!!

I'm just not good at organic chemistry so this lab was a little hard when it came to tests, but this man will do all necessary to help you out! I am pals with this man, and I love him to death! organic lab is a fun class too!! just not the tests so much, but his will be the easiest around. take o'connor!!!!

O'Connor is a really cool guy and definitley tries to lighten up the class by throwing out sometimes funny/ sometimes corny jokes. He's good at explaining what hes lecturing on and the tests are pretty much exactly what he gave us in the practice tests and study guides. Overall, great teacher and great guy, worth having. I don't think I could have made it through organic without him. His test were hard but he was fair and gave us a nice scale each time. He also recognized students who worked hard and were serious about his class, and was always willing to help them. You could stop by his office or call him at any time. He is one of the best professors I've had.

Great Professor! The easiest organic chemistry teacher because he explains every part of the process in detail. No surprises in this class. If you take notes in class and study you can get an A. I would only recommend Professor O'Conner for organic chemistry I and II.

I really like Dr. O'Connor. He's super helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to help his students. Organic requires a lot of time to be put in to understand the material but O'Connor does his best to make sure or to help you understand. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. O'Connor is an extremely knowledgeable professor who makes classtime very fun & interesting by using demosrtations and quip-like similies of relation to ral world. more imprtantly he is flexible and very inderstanding about situations that pop up in life and works with his students ot make sure they leave with knowledge. Organic Chemistry is a difficult subject, but O'Connor tries his hardest to accommodate anyone whose willing to put in the time. He's friendly, and is almost constantly in his office. He occasionally moves too fast in lecture, but this should be too much of a problem as long as you keep consistent study habits outside of class.

O'Connor is my favorite teacher I've had at Marshall so far. He's one of the coolest guys ever.. he's hilarious. You would never expect organic chem class to be hilarious.. but somehow it always was! His class is really hard though.. lots of trick ?s on tests...but he warns that there will be and even tells you what to look out for. Great teacher

Dr. O'Connor is an amazing professor. He sometimes has difficulty getting his concepts across, but his class is certainly enjoyable. He also gives you the test banks before you take his tests. Just study what he gives you and you will be fine.

Good Professor, however goes fast, must be willing to go to him for help, just review powerpoints plus practice tests can easily get you a B, maybe even an A if your good at organic.

He was nice, but overrated, in my opinion. It is a hard class. The fast pace at which he teaches does not make it any easier. I would highly recommend going through the powerpoints before class or you may be completely lost.

Organic chemistry is a difficult subject to learn and an even harder one to teach. O'Connor's lectures can be a little jumpy and his handwriting is atrocious, but he stands above the rest in a willingness to help students pass. If you communicate with him and study, you will get through. Great professor overall who goes out of his way to help.

Isn't totally fair that "easiness" is a criteria for a professor's score when discussing a class like organic chemistry. If the class was "easy", the professor would probably be doing something wrong. O'Connor's classes are not easy, but there's no other professor in the chemistry department who will put in this effort to see his students succeed.

Great teacher. Honestly one of my favorite science professors I've had at Marshall. He sometimes jumps ahead in thought which is why he isn't 100% clear sometimes but will communicate back with you easily and makes himself very available for questions. Would defiantly take him again.

In college, it is important to study harder no matter what professor you take. You are not going to find any easier chemistry professors to have classes with in the chemistry department here at Marshall but hoping that there will be better professors like Dr. O Connor to take in the future. Dr. O'Connor cares about your grades. If you're falling behind, he'll help you get back up. You have a 5 question quiz at the end of every day, definitely nothing to stress up. They're so easy. 3 exams. He explains everything well and makes jokes to keep your attention! I recommend!

Organic chemistry is difficult. You get what you put in. Nonetheless, some ppl need more help than others. I've never had a professor who is more willing to help you succeed than Dr. O'Connor. He's always accessible (text, email, office). An irreplaceable asset in Marshall's Chem Dept. Thank you Dr. O'Connor.

Best professor in the chem department! He genuinely cares about your grades and future. He goes above and beyond to help you succeed. He gives quizzes basically every lecture, which can help or hurt you depending on if you study. It's organic chemistry 2 so an easy A doesn't exist. O'Connor is your best bet.

Dr. O'Connor is amazing. Honestly cares about how you do and whether or not you learn. Organic 2 is obviously SUPER HARD, but your best bet is to go with him because he is always willing to explain something and is available to help you with problems basically all day, every day.

Dr. O'Connor is enthusiastic about chemistry and is always willing to help. Your grade is based off of exams only. He was a little disorganized in lecture, but was accessible during office hours to help you understand. He really cares about students.

Organic is tough but Dr. O'Conner does everything he can to help you out. Couldn't ask for a more friendly and knowledge teacher. Be prepared to study and work your butt off but it's worth it and prepares you for higher classes and MCAT.

O'Conner is a great man. So kind to all of his students. Not the best teacher when explaining things. A lot of exams but they aren't hard if you study a good amount. If you need help message him and set up an appointment

He is brilliant and sometimes all over the place. He knows his stuff and is willing to work with you outside of class. If you have questions go see him, he will help. He gives quizzes. the quizzes are small and he tells your in the previous class what will be on it. Do the study guides he uploads most questions/similar ones are pulled from them.

O'connor actual cares about his students and his grades and will do everything he can to make life easier. Organic is hard but he explains it well and will curve tests depending on how the class did. He will definitely help you if you have questions.

Your only grades are the exams. He sends you TONS of suggested practice problems. These arent mandatory, but definitely do them since he will often use the same questions on the exams. Really encouraging, accessible, and geniunely wants to help you do well. Lots of bonus opportunities, also.

Dr. OConnor is a super nice guy. Pre-lab lectures were not at all boring because he is so funny and entertaining! Gives solid grading criteria and expectations for both lab reports and exams. Very prompt on grading as well. Would highly recommend, especially if this is your first chemistry lab!!

O Connor is a nice guy. He really makes himself available to help you whenever you have questions and are struggling. He sends out a ton of practice problems and practice tests. Does lecture heavy and tests are your only grades so be prepared for them.

OMG I love Dr. O'Connor. He is available all of the time throughout the week. He really wants you to do well and chase your dreams. GAVE A LOT OF PRACTICE PROBLEMS. Study these as he uses some of them on his tests. He also gave us tons of bonus point opportunities throughout the semester which helps to boost your grade.

The fact that I got an A in Organic says more about O'Connor than it does about me. I am so grateful for him. He provided us with plenty of practice problems, some of which were on the tests. Vry passionate about chemistry, and he genuinely wanted us to do well. PLENTY of bonus opportunities were given. I am devastated that he isn't teaching Org II

O'Connor is the best. That's it. He gives you plenty of material to practice with. Use it. Class isn't terrible because he actually teaches and he is funny. He wants to help you and he is always available. There's no curve. You earn your curve through bonus points, but he is fair. No games here. Organic is hard, but again he's the best.

Love this man!! He always is more than willing to help you outside of class(He literally gives you his phone number on the first day of class). Organic can be difficult, but O' Connor defiantly does a great job explaining things in depth. He gives so much bonus and his tests aren't bad at all. Really wish I could take him again. Please take him!!!!

I absolutely love him! He makes learning about chemistry fun by showing visual interpretations and his jokes make you actually want to come to class. His test are ok. Study the chapter reviews located at the end of every chapter. I would advice to go to class bc this is math heavy & he shows easy ways to remember how to do the math on the test.

Dr. O'Connor is a great professor and really cares about his students. Organic chem is a hard subject already, but he helps as much as he can to help you pass. There were 4 exams and a final ACS exam. No homework. The test material is covered by the powerpoints, so study the topics from those and you should do well on the exams.

Dr. O'Connor is one of the best professors at Marshall. His lectures are great, he makes really funny jokes and he gives us a ton of resources. He does everything he can to help inspire us to learn and get the most out of the class. Overall, he is a wonderful human being. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Dr. O'Connor is such a sweet professor with a good sense of humor. He is a bit scrambled, but he was readily available outside of class and always emailed back pretty quickly. I would take him again in a heartbeat. If you're willing to work hard and put in the time, you'll do well.

Dr. O'Connor is a solid choice if you're taking organic chemistry. He knows what he's talking about and takes the time to explain things if you ask questions in class. Provides ungraded homework problems for practice. He goes over a lot of examples in class and most of those are what you'll see on his tests. Organic is hard no matter who you take.

Dr. O'Connor is the sweetest professor I have ever had. He is caring and a great guy. There are about 10 or 11 tests but they are chapter tests and he gives study guides for each one. 10/10 would recommend.
