He is incredibly funny (everything relates to drinking), and really loves his subject. Fairly hard tests, but decently easy marker.

Excellent professor, I skipped a lot of class, but still got an A-. However, he is not a cakewalk; really likes his work and likes to talk with students and encourages debate and participation.

I love Ken!! Kwantlen's best professor of all time! It is because of him that i am majoring in Arch!! Amazing stories and will help you with anything even if you are not in his class anymore!

Notes are at a nice pace, and uses video/slides for lectures sometimes. His three tests are non-cumulative and study guides are given a week in advance. Ken will even look at your draft for the term paper! But he's no push over... he knows everything!!

Guys, this guy is a good teacher... his notes are easy to understand and he goes slow when giving them. He is sorta funny, but this could be seen as corny... His tests are not easy but he gives you study guides and if you know that then you'll do fine.

He's very helpfull, he gives you a study guide for the tests, if you study his notes you'll do well. His class is very boring though, but it's an easy mark.

Go to his class, write down all the notes(verbal+written on board), then study those notes before the exam with the study guide provided and I guarantee you will not get anything lower then a B. He is pretty fair on the paper aswell. VERY GOOD TEACHER!!!!

He's a cool teacher. He tells interesting stories in class that are related to his lecture topics. He likes to mention the archaeologist's relationship with beer a lot. He even gives you a study guide for tests.

I took this class last semester. Ken has great stories about some of his archaeology trips around the globe especially Hawaii. Has pretty good notes for studying on tests, if you do the work you can do well. Fun guy.

Loved his class. He expects details on his exams (so write lots!), but if you just study from his notes, it's the easiest exam ever. His notes are very organized, which I loved - it made learning that much easier. He made jokes which weren't super funny, but it helped with getting the info stuck in your head. Highly recommended!!!

great guy. the material is a bit dry at times, but he makes it really fun, but for the most part it's an interesting class. he's a great teacher.

Good class, easy to get great marks if you study the notes well according to the study guide. One thing that annoyed several students was the in-class final. Said final was worth 10% and the study guide contained just as much material to study as any other test.

This prof knows his stuff, keeps it real and enjoys his students. Many enjoy the fact he always you to have a study guide before exams which is useful, he is easy on on tests, but papers you need to be detailed and be differet from those topics that everyone else does, he gets bored with that and you get lower marks, so keep it different. Awesome.

Look when people give Ken a bad report it is because these people are brain dead, this guy is the best their is in Anthropology/Archaeology. PLay the game and know your stuff. He is more than fair, easy to talk to and is interested in his students. Get to know him, he is awesome. Its just not fair to give him a poor rating when he is so cool.

East tests, easy assignments, and super approachable guy. If you have any apprehensions toward taking his course, drop them. This guy kicks ass.

He's an amazing instructor; very passionate about his specialty; lectures and notes are well organized and play directly to the tests; tests require lots of detail but they are very fair and not too difficult. He is mad approachable and helpful -but it is YOUR responsiblity to ask. Dry, adult humour- which I loved.

Hands down best prof I've ever had. He's big on detail in his exams, and does assign a long paper, but he gives great review guides and is extremely helpful. He's super-accommodating- if you have two exams on one day or are feeling really swamped, he's more than willing to reschedule for you. Definitely take his class if you get the chance!

Ken Stark is a wonderful prof. Although the lectures are long and take most of the class time, they are extremely useful in his tests. Really fair marker, and will help with research project if you need help. Lots of notes, but it is a change from power point notes. I would recommend taking his class.

Good prof but I found subject really boring. Archaeology students will love it others may not. I was always bored. But he's a nice guy very easy marker and if you put in the effort is an easy A. It is boring enough that you don't pay attention so it can hurt your grade. Paper was long 10 pages, thought that was too much for a first year course.

He's the easiest teacher I've ever had! He provides lecture slides that basically have the ans. to his exams, and therefore you don't really need to attend class. I've skipped a couple times and it didn't effect my grade at all! In order to have general understanding of material to do well on short ans., read the textbook. Pdf's are supplementary.

Easily the best professor I've ever had! Class was 3 hours long but his slides were easy to understand and his tests were straight forward and not difficult if you actually studied. There was one research paper but he gave a huge amount of time for you to hand it in.

On the outside he seems like a dweeb but is rather funny and makes lectures enjoyable. Great notes. Basically all your work is done for you. One paper that is interesting and your choice of topic. Would take again.

I have taken multiple Anthropology courses with Ken Stark, In the upper levels he just adds on an oral presentation for his courses but the latest I took was a theory course with him that I honestly thought would be rather dreary to get through but it was the opposite. If you want to do well in Anthropology take him.

His upper year classes have PowerPoint notes which consist of about 60 slides each all full of facts and the exams are on 4-5 chapters so that's almost 300 slides that you need to study and remember a lot of the details because you'll be tested on them. I found that a little too much to remember no matter how long I studied it's just too much info!

Professor Stark is a great teacher. He gives great lectures and there's never a dull moment in his class. He is there when you need any help, and is a very fair with his marking. I find him very approachable and friendly.

I took multiple classes with Ken during post-secondary, and he was always one of my favorites. He knows what he's talking about, he is kind, and you will learn a lot. He has a very specific grading criteria that he uses for almost every class he teaches and you will always know to expect. If you study, you'll pass.

One of the most caring and kindhearted professors at KPU. He loves what he teaches and it shows. Marks are based on two tests, a proposal for research paper of your choosing, and the research paper. He's a fair marker and it is very easy to do well in his class if you study. He gives study guides a week before the test so you know what to study.

There are two tests that you have to be prepared for and an essay due at the end of the semester.

He's so nice he's like a dad and as long as you do the work you're guaranteed a good grade. The class is super interesting, I didn't even need another second year class, but I really wanted to learn about this topic and I have no regrets!

Super sweet. 2 tests (both 30%), 1 essay (30%), 1 essay proposal (10%). Powerpoints are posted on Moodle and are quick to read through considering he takes 3 hours to get through one. Passionate about his field & talks about cool experiences if you're interested in archeology. Final essay is about one site of your choosing, tests mult choice & T/F

Ken is an amazing prof! I took his class online and it was so easy to keep up with. He posted weekly videos talking about what would be going on in his lectures for that week. Posted study guidelines which really helped as there is a lot of information on the lectures but his notes really help. I recommend this class and no textbook!

Professor Stark's online class was always clear with lecture and slides to follow. For exam, study guide was given to study. Feedback for assignment was clear. Whenever I emailed for any clarifications, he always emailed within the same day. Thank you Professor Stark.

I took ANTH 1300, which was originally titles Intro to Archaeology. This was online asynchronous and was well laid out, organized, clear and accessible. There was one lecture per week that he recorded himself, rather than reading a slide show by ourselves. It made the online class seem more interactive and personal. Along with a few articles.
