HE IS THE BEST!I have never understood math or the steps to solving probs.He explains it all so when you do a prob it's not like your memorizing what to do, but actually thinking about why this step leads to that. He should teach every class that has to do with math, it would have saved me in phys and chem!If you can, ONLY take shahla for math!

this is my first semester taking his class and i've only been in class like twice. but when i was there i enjoyed his lecture.

He's really cool and one of the most helpful teachers I have ever met. Always willing to talk after class or during office hours.

He was an awesome teacher. At first, I didn't want to take the class but at the end, I loved it. He is very helpful and nice. He also explains things very well so that everyone can understand. If you do the work and pay attention, you'll surely get an A.

This was a beginning algebra class and not college level. His contempt for those needing to take it really showed. He did not SHOW how to do a problem on the board, but asked the class to "think it through." When many could not do it, he actually stated, "Hey, if you can't do THIS, I'll sign your drop slips right now." Math problems? Beware.

A teacher who is very motivated in teaching the class. Eventhough he is very young, he is on his way on becoming a great teacher.I will not hesitate to recommed him to any of my fellow peers. He does explain the problems with clarity, you just have to pay attention. Overall he is terrific teacher.

Ladies take his class.Besides being the hottest teacher at AVC, you learn a lot in his class. He communicates well with students and he is very helpful. I had a crush on this teacher all semester. He is very charismatic and funny.

He's what a teacher should be. He's willing to go over something more than once, and if he gets asked the same question twice in a row - even after he's explained it several times - he doesn't belittle the asker for not paying attention. Really easy-going, but he can be a bit surly at times. And for pete's sake, do your homework!!!

I took Math 70 online during the summer. It was pretty easy even though I am horrible at math. The computer program they use is great. Shahla is great because he gives you practice tests and answers and is always around to answer questions. No need to buy the textbook!

I really tried in his class. He's a good teacher don't get me wrong but he was too fast for me and knowing that the rest of the class knew so much about math made feel really dumb. I don't like math but I'm willing to try, I withdrew. I recommend him but I myself wouldn't take him again.

I took shahla for math 70 and 102 online and i had a great experience. He is quick about answering your questions through email, and gives out a practice test before hand which is pretty much just like the test. You have to be self motivated for an online class, but if you decide to take one, take shahla hands down!

I stuggled and got a C, but thats my bad. Iam brain dead in algebra.I did 100% on homework and not very good on tests. He was more than fair and helpful. I needed to take algebra for 2 semesters to get a better grade.

I took this class online during intersession! It was A TON of work. The first week was horrible, with a ton of homework. The tests were somewhat difficult. He is great about replying to emails, until you ask too many questions and he stops responding. It is pretty hard if you are teaching yourself, but give it a try.

Shahla is far and away the best teacher at AVC that I've had so far. He not only knows how to teach his material in an easy-to-understand manner, but also how to help people like myself who are behind catch up to wherever the rest of the class is. His sense of humor is refreshing too, makes class fun to attend

Best teacher I ever had.

This teacher was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. His teaching makes math seem crystal clear. I am no math whiz but I managed to get a B in this class anyway. Make sure to do all the homework he assigns you because it does help to practice and helps your grade in the end. Study for the tests as well. Also very cute!

Took this class as an online algebra class. Amazingly easy, so long as I did at least 2 assignments each day. It was a lot of monotonous work, but it was an easy A. Be prepared to input at least 2 hours a day into this class.

I took his online 102 class very easy. Only three tests and quite a few hw assignments, If you stay on track though its no problemo. Only thing I can compalin about is his tests only had about 20 questions so if you missed any it affected your grade alot. Tests worth 75% of grade so study everything.

Had him for 102 and 130 and he is AHHH-MAZING!!! Seriouly would not take another other teacher for these classes. He explains things so good, works with you, makes sure you get it, and adds a little fun in there too! TAKE NO OTEHR TEACHER THAN SHAHLA!!!

Class is hard. I took online and it was tough. He does teach other classes so if you need help you have to go to his office hours. He does try to make time to help though. If you need attention in math take his regular class.

Kenan is a good teacher. He explain everything good and the test are super easy if you study. drop the lowes test and the lowes 5 hw. he is a good teacher and the test are the same as the review. Wonderful! He is the best math professor at this school. He's young and he graduated from Ucla and he makes his lectures crystal clear. The material is pretty easy to understand, but try to do the homework because it will help you understand even better. Good luck!

I took 102 and 130 with Shahla and I have never had a teacher that was as helpful as he is. He will do anything he can to make sure you do well on his tests and explains things in a very easy to understand language. If I had taken this with anyone else I wouldn't have done as well as I did. Highly recommended!

hes a great guy funny. knows how to laugh makes lots of jokes. hes strict on cell phones though if you get caught he will warn you then scare you into putting it away or embarrass you in front of the class. Easy easy class though. im taking his 130 class this fall

His teaching style is very laid back and casual, but very easy to follow. He's very sarcastic but doesn't make class dull. Really wants you to understand the material, and yes he is good looking. Hated Educosoft though. Aside from that, the class wasn't too hard or easy. I highly recommend him and I would take his class again.

Great teacher, I found him easy to follow and enjoyed the class. 5 exams, drops the lowest score. I suggest using a notebook specifically for this class and take organized comprehensive notes. He bases his tests off of what he writes on the board, so there's very little in the way of surprises on the exams.

Cool teacher, very funny. SARCASTIC! Texting is unacceptable. Straight forward. Study guides are the same type of problems on test.

All the good things you see here about Shahla is true. He gives very helpful study guides, yet he will mix it up on you once or twice. Took the online070, have to say he makes it easier for you. I detest math, he made it bearable and more fun. Already registered in his online Math 102 for Spring.

Great Professor! Best Math teacher I've EVER had! He's funny and tests are very short (15 at most). We were able to use note cards for a couple tests and he drops the lowest test score. Homework is weighted 20% and tests 80%. Such an easy class!I do not recommend missing class though because we do go through a lot in just one class.

Professor Shahla is a great teacher! This was my third time taking this class after failing the first two times. He let us redo the first test if we didn't do well on it, and was extremely helpful during Math Lab when we had trouble with a math problem, and took the time to walk us through the problem! I would highly recommend this teacher!

Loved his class! His tests were clear and simple and basically takes the questions from the notes and puts them on the test. Drops the lowest test score at the end of the semester. Being in class is definitely necessary, but it was an easy semester.

He teaches math by showing you all the steps and the "easy" way. He will forget the proofs, because most students do not get them anyway. He really breaks it down and I found his class to be VERY Passable. Take Notes, Pay Attention, and Show up.

Took the class online, only met 4 times out of the semester. SUPER EASY if you stay on top of the homework. Tests have 25-30 multiple choice questions, drops your lowest test grade, allows you to use calculators on test. NO make up test be there for ALL test dates. At the end of semester opens up all homework to make it up.

What can I say: I enjoyed my math experience with Mr. Shahla. He's precise about everything, straight to the point. I do not like math nor do I perform well, However, I feel I gained a lot and did well. The only thing is you are responsible for your education. SO GO TO S.I. plus: Wednesday's are chipotle cheat day.

An AMAZING teacher who loves his job! He has a sarcastic sense of humor that I loved, as long as you know when to shut up, class is alwayse fun. I was never good at math, but he is very clear in class, take good notes and you can ace the test. He offers SI instruction for those who need more help (like me), so go to SI if you struggle. At the beginning of the semester his class was full, at the end of the semester, one student was gone. Professor Shahla is an amazing teacher, he keeps the classroom environment light, while being able to teach at the classroom pace, while getting everything done. K. Shahla is an amazing instructor. His students education is priority, but don't get it twisted, if you don't care there's no way he can help you!!!! If there's any misunderstanding he has your back and will clarify. He is a sarcastic funny, but it lightens up the lecture and removes nerves. Test are not hard if you do the homework.

If you have struggled with math he is not the one... Homework is on my math lab and its a lot so be prepared to study. There are 4 tests including final (only 24 questions) Lets you use calculator. He can be very sarcastic at times but that's just his personality. Has his own SI tutor and she is very helpful breaks down the math very well.

Shahla is an AMAZING teacher I took his Math102 class for Fall 2015. He is so funny and really interacts with his students. He always assigns homework(Online) but In the end it helps you pass the tests! Test weren't hard, fair. He is always there for questions and he really makes lectures enjoyable. Loved prof shalah he made the class room enviorment super light, I felt comfortable asking questions even though I didn't have too many because he was very clear. I really enjoyed going to Shahla's class, his sense of humor will help the class not seem so long. Ask questions if you don't understand the subject matter as it happens, it'll help. You won't need the physical book, but you'll need the online program since all homework is done on there. Take him if you can!

Take his online class ONLY if you know what you're doing and are experienced with algebra. He's a helpful and friendly and puts practice tests, but a few homework problems were incorrect. He sticks to the his grading scale but is a bit slow to correct some errors i.e if he missed uploading a test grade. Speaking of tests, they're typically easy.

I took Shahla for a summer class and he is great! He's one of those teachers you wish could teach every math class you take! Very funny. If you have to spend 4 hours in a math class in the summer, he is definitely the one you should take. Do the homework and pay attention in class and you will pass easily.

Prof. Kenan Shahla is the only teacher to take if you have a difficult time passing Math. I had him for Math 70 and 102. If he taught Math 115, I would take him again. He uses My Pearson Math lab, although there is a lot of math problems, the tests are easy after study. He is highly respected and recommended. One of my favorite teachers at AVC !!

He is a hilarious teacher and makes learning the subject more fun. There is homework due every week but it is easy if you pay attention in class and the tests are based of the homework.

I have taken professor Shahla for Math 70 and now 102. He is such an amazing teacher and really makes math tolerable. He gives great lectures. All homework is online using mymathlab. He posts practices tests before exams and those really help. Weekly homework but it really prepares for tests. Multiple choice tests, calculator is okay! He's awesome!

Try to be as consistent in attendance as possible, ask questions, and when he says to stop taking notes and just watch, do it.

I took this in HS & slacked off knowing I would still pass, and I did. But i didn't learn jack, hence why I ended up back in math 102. I took him for math 102, he was amazing. He let us use cheat sheets and calculators on every test! All of the homework and study guides were in my math lab online. Only con about this professor is he takes a while to get grades back

I took his hybrid class and he was a cool teacher. He was unintentionally funny. The homework is from my math lab and there's 3 tests. A lot of homework but it's easy. He does take a while to grade tests. I would take him again.

Honestly the best math professor at AVC. The class isnt hard at all. All you need is math lab and a graphing calculator. Always allow cheat cheats on the test. Do homework you will pass. Very understanding and very funny.

really cool guy. makes it easy to learn the material and the tests are very similar to the practice test he makes for students and tests are multiple choice!! you need to purchase the math lab for homework which is given everyday and a graphing calculator. he teaches a new lesson every day so attendance is mandatory if you wanna learn and pass!

We have homework assigned in class, but he doesn't really grade it; he gives it a check and gives you all the points even if you got every question wrong. That being said, most of your grade relies on the papers and the tests. He was a funny and enjoyable teacher overall.

If you want to pass math, its with him. Im good at math, and he makes it easier, like if he were teaching to kindergartens. If you talk to him you might turn late work.

He does not have live zoom classes but you check in on a discussion post during the time that your class was supposed to be scheduled for.

He is a great mth professor. Uses PowerPoints and has examples to match venn diagrams and solving problems. He turns us into critical thinkers and not to overtime in the class. Easy math class! Was more logic instead of numbers based which I loved! His explanations were super clear and I actually learned the concepts he was teaching. He took attendance every class and reminded us how important it was for us to be present.

The class was easy. There is barely any math, just basic logic problems. Only two tests and both are multiple-choice. The lectures consist of him reading off a PowerPoint and writing down examples. Encourages asking questions. He didn't grade our assignments until the last week of the semester.

Math 110 with this professor is a straightforward class - more logic-based than number-crunching. Attend lectures, stay on top of assignments, and use resources like unstuck AI to supplement your studying. The workload is manageable, and the professor is helpful if you engage with the material.

He's really chill and pretty good at teaching. I understood everything he taught, and he only took an hour per class instead of the full time. And sometimes let us out earlier than that. His homework is worth more than the test, so make sure to prioritize and not fall behind. This class is an easy A.

didn't expect to come out liking math towards the end of my semester but he's very easy u learn a lot. Attendance matters!!He's very easy and straightforward! We had about 2 Quiz(more point)it's all on the lectures and homework's he assigns that's why it's important toshow up he explains it better if you're a visual learner like me :)good luck!

As long as you do the work and follow the instructions, you will get a good grade. The work is hard, but he provides plenty of resources, such as video reference and practice opportunities, amongst other information. He is a fair teacher, and the work is rewarding. Would absolutely take again!

This class is very hard to fail. sometimes you might have to teach yourself a little bit on your own, but you really would have to try to fail his class. he is very chill and kind of funny
