Brotther Grant is Brilliant. His class made me change my major to English. It is hard and you have to work and meet his expectations. But I got and A.

I loved it, even though it was a challenge and at times I thought I was going to die because it was so overwhelming, I have never learned so much in my life. It took some time, but I enjoyed it so much that I thought it was my easiest class that semester. I took his English 111 class along with several other hard courses, including anatomy and physiology. His class took more time than my anatomy class, he was hard to understand and the homework load is incredible. I have learned so much from him and it is valuable; but this is a 300 level class! LOTS OF WORK! Over $150 spent on class projects.

Brother Grant is tough teacher, I'll be honest, but he has helped me learn more than almost any other teacher i have had. I would not trade the tears, laughs, fun and even the work for anything else. Recommened if you want a great experience.

I really enjoy this class! Some say it's hard and confusing but you just need to have an open mind and heart and you'll be fine. Amazing! Brother Grant has changed my life forever. His classes are the most important things I accomplished at BYU-I. I would take any class from him- no matter what it was. There are times that he's vague in class- but that's because he wants you to discover the answer for yourself.

I never learned so many life lessons in his class. Yes there were difficult things in this class but it's college. As long as you come in ready to participate and be social and you are ready to discuss more than grammar you will be just fine. Brother Grants class is ridiculously hard for a Foundations course. Be prepared to read a 750 page book and write 50 pages single spaced on your life. He wants you to have a life changing experience with every assignment. The way he grades things is dumb. If you do all the work then you get a C. Getting an A is like impossible. Great man though.

Brother Grant knows what he is doing. If you are willing to do what he says and give it more effort and time than you ever have, you will finish this class a changed person. Misleading. Signed up for his literature class expecting to read and analyze literature. Ended up playing games and being read children's books almost every day. It was fun, but not at all what I signed up for. While I loved some of the life lessons we learned, I was very disappointed that I learned next to nothing about actual literature.

Strengthening your testimony of the gospel and of Christ is just as important to him as your work in class. He is a very philosophical and spiritual man. He let's the class lead itself most days. Your grade depends a lot on your own honesty. He is a kind, uplifting man who truly, truly cares about his students.

He is a great teacher. His class is not like a normal class at all, but I learned a lot. Very frustrating at times too. He relies on you to think outside the box on everything and not to go about his class like a normal A,B,C graded class. PATIENCE is key and the knowledge gained is worth it.

This was a poetry class so reading was a big deal naturally but poems aren't that long. Very helpful and will answer any questions you may have. Great guy who cares about his students. Does his best to make everyone feel involved and loved. Never had a dull day. Short textbook used fairly often easy read.

Sometimes, he's more of a philosophy guy than an English guy (in teaching style, not in content). He has students teach the class and sat int he back a lot--so few, in any, lectures. We talked about our feelings a lot. But he's smart, and he makes you think, and I think I liked him.

I had Bro. Grant for Children's Literature. I was horrified before going to the first class because I have never been into reading. NO textbook was required and teamwork was entirely encouraged. LOVE his teaching methods. His class changed my life and ideas of teaching. His class made me LIKE literature, that wasn't even a thought before.

I took one class from Brother Grant back in 2006 and I remember loving and hating his class all at once. It was not your typical English class. He teaches us to serve and love one other within the classroom and outside of the classroom. This was a very chill class, with very little reading. You do have to memorize/recite poetry. I loved that we practiced using different poetic forms in class. However, a few class periods felt kind of off-topic and unproductive. But overall Bro. Grant is kind and accessible. He also makes cool pottery.

Bro. Grant is great! You will have very few assignments but those assignments are graded heavily and what you get on those will basically become your final grade. He is a great storyteller and really makes you want to listen and learn from his experiences. Beware of some odd but really fun activities you will play in class.

Brother Grant is a great teacher. His teaching style is so different than others, so if you take a class from him just be prepared to do things differently. He has really good and meaningful discussions. My only complaint is that he doesn't grades anything until the end of the semester, and you get graded on very few things. But he is great.

Brother Grant understands how to teach English in an engaging way that builds a variety of skills. Though very non-traditional if you put in the work you will enjoy the class. There's a good amount of homework, but if you focus on what he's trying to help you become the meaning is clear. Would be better if he used Canvas more.

This is NOT your standard english class. Almost always something fun/engaging, and you basically choose your grade. The syllabus includes criteria for earning an A, B, and C. A requires a lot of reading, but there's not really much writing. It's pretty student lead-usually once a week a presentation. He works hard to help people feel comfortable!

Bro Grant is a fantastic teacher. Assignments take a while so make sure to give yourself time to do them. If you want a teacher to tell you what to do every step of the way, then do not take him. He wants us to think on our own. Everything he wants us to do is disclosed in the syllabus at the beginning of the semester.

His class is unique. I had him for two classes now because I loved his style so much. Minimal writing, pre-class reading taking 30-60 min. You get out of class what you put in to the class. Always fun activities or insightful discussion. He works hard to build a positive class culture. He cares a lot, and if you put in effort, it will be impactful.

Brother Grant is an extremely caring and compassionate professor. I went through some mental health issues this semester, and despite the attendance policy, he was able to work with me to get me an A. The class is centered around poetry, and we do many group activities.

Brother Grant is incredible. His grading method might seem scary at first, but it's very simply. He always comes to class ready to inspire us. You can see how passionate he is about teaching. I always came to class excited to learn and participate in the activities. He's a different kind of teacher, which adds to his charms.

If you've ever seen Dead Poets Society, then this class is the closest I've ever come to having a teacher like Robin Williams in that movie. It was a class that was inspiring, different, and encouraged me to think outside the box. It might not be for everyone, but honestly I think everyone should take at least one class like this.

Professor Grant's class is unique and challenging, but incredibly rewarding if you put in the effort. While the workload can be demanding, the discussions and activities are thought-provoking. Unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a worthwhile class for those willing to engage.

Prof. Grant is an exceptional educator. He genuinely cares about the students growth and success. Taking his class during this fall semester was a blessing. His passion for teaching, combined with his kindness, creates an environment where students feel valued & inspired to reach their full potential.
