I took Kendell's ACCT 2050 class this last semester and she really helped my learning experience. She is very willing to work with students to help them in whatever capacity possible. I would highly recommend taking one of her classes.

Kendell teaches an 8am intro accounting course in a way that is engaging and very clear, which I think says a lot about her abilities. She offers a great balance of worksheets, homework, real world examples, and lectures. I think accounting is the most boring thing on this earth, but with minimal pain I'll end up with a B in the class. She's great!

Kendell is very straight up with what you need to know for exams. The homework can be long but it is easy points and helpful. The in class worksheets and lectures prepare you well for exams. She is great and clearly very knowledgeable. If you go to class, do the homework and study, you'll be just fine with her.

Kendell is one of the best professor I have ever had. She states her expectations the first day of class. She goes above and beyond to make sure that her students understand the material prior to examinations. She is a prime example of what every professor should aspire to be. I would HIGHLY recommend that you take this course.

Take Financial Statement Analysis with her unless you hate talking in class, as 1/3 of the grade is based on attendance/participation. Otherwise, there were only 3 case assignments with no tests so it was a pretty low-stress class. Her lectures are good overall and easy to follow.

Kendell is AMAZING. She makes all of the lessons super straightforward. Attendance is taken every session, but Kendell made it worth going to an 8 am on West Bank. If you have any questions there are TA's dedicated specifically for this course. She even posts everything that will be on the exams. Highly recommend!

She tells you exactly what's going to be on the exams. The practice exams and in class worksheets are idential to the actual exams. You get unlimited tries on the homework which is nice. She only uses stuff from the slides on the exams (nothing from the textbook).

Great night class. Mrs. Poch knew that the majority of us werent accounting majors so she basically made it easier for us. She told us exactly what we needed to know for each exam (1 midterm + final). The final was not cumulative, only material covered after the midterm was on it. She also made sure we knew where we stood in the class grade wise.

She tells you exactly what to expect for homework and exams, she's super straight forward and understands that not everyone is going to be an accounting major. She moves fast in lecture so if you aren't familiar with accounting get the textbook, otherwise its not really necessary except for online hw access. She's overall pretty decent

Kendell is super clear on what you need to know, giving you worksheets with near exact problems that are on the midterms. She also gives practice multiple choice questions. The hardest part are the multiple choice questions on the 3 exams, but besides that the class is pretty easy and you know what is expected of you.

Ms. Poch talks fast, but really knows her stuff and is very helpful.

LOVED this prof! Clear grading. Up-front about what's expected on projects and what's covered on exams. Very clear speaker, shares materials ahead of time. 1 homework due a week (3-6 problems)(except for exam weeks). Gives exam study guides. Very manageable time commitment to get a decent grade. Only criticism is SHE'S A FAST TALKER!!!

Prof Poch has very good and clear lectures. She will tell you exactly which problems are going to be on the midterms. Weekly online quizzes and homework but you get to drop some, and the readings were really helpful for me. Prof Poch is very caring and answers questions very clearly and openly

Kendell is very straight-forward, tells you exactly what short response questions will be on the exam. Her practice exams are similar to the real thing - multiple choice can get tricky. The first few weeks of class seem to move pretty fast but you can tell she is extremely knowledgable and a great prof. No pop quizzes, HW is easy to get 100% on.

Kendell is a great accounting professor. Very friendly and accessible. I was in the non-Carlson section, which she slims down a bit because she knows no one in the class is majoring in Accounting, which was really nice.

Kendell is a great professor who is really knowledgeable about Accounting. She generally gets you out of class about 10-15 minutes early each lecture. Beware she talks EXTREMELY fast, so be ready to pay attention. She tells you exactly what will be on the test and what to expect. If it is your first Acct class it will be challenging just work hard.

Kendell was the best professor. Weekly online homework and LearnSmarts had unlimited tries, so as long as you put in a little effort, you're good. Tests weren't necessarily easy, but she laid out clearly what to study and which types of problems to prepare for the exams with! Go to lecture because she tests on in-class examples/companies sometimes!

Initially, you'll probably not like her since she goes really fast in her lectures. However, it gets easier as the class progresses since you'll get used to it and realize that she is really caring for the students (almost to a fault, I feel bad sometimes) and has a very clear grading criteria for everything she hands out.

Kendell Poch is an amazing teacher, probably the best teacher I had at the UofM. Take her for ACCT 2050. You don't even need to read the textbook to get an A, although I would for the extra review if you are a reader. Her lectures and in class worksheets are all you need to really study.

Kendell is an amazing professor. Her methods of teaching are phenomenal. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable. Online courses are hard because people believe it is very hard to get a hold of professor but if your are taking it with Kendell there is no need to worry. She promptly replies to emails with very details responses.

Kendell's lectures move pretty fast but if you listen and take notes it will be a breeze. you almost never have to read because she explains everything clearly. If you get the chance to take her, do it!

She doesn't beat around the bush, she explains exactly what you need to know for exams so nothing is a surprise. Make sure to go to the review sessions before midterms and she'll cover everything you need to know.

Very clear on grading, exam questions, and class structure. Gives out review slides before exams. Study these and worksheets done in class for exams and you'll be good. Lets out early quite often. Very kind and willing to help. One of the best, most understanding profs I've had so far.

Kendell's course was very well organized and she did a great job at explaining the content. She welcomes questions and is very approachable. There are two group projects and weekly homework assignments, but it is all very management. The content was really helpful in understanding how to judge companies by their finances. Would recommend to others.

I had no interest in accounting going into this class, but I left feeling slightly more interested in accounting. Kendell was a fantastic professor who I would recommend to everyone!

Poch was the BEST! She was extremely clear and concise with her lectures and gave many examples in class of test questions. Sitting through an almost two-hour class was easy with her as the prof!

An excellent professor. She sets clear expectations, and will tell you what to expect on exams. The subject matter is absorbed much better as she shows financial data from well-known companies and walks through helpful examples that mirror test questions. The multiple choice section can get tricky, but she gives samples prior to exams. Take her!

I found accounting really hard, but Kendell gave in depth examples of concepts and made her lectures engaging by switching between ppt, the project, the whiteboard, and worksheets. She's super nice and responds to questions extremely quickly. Would for sure recommend taking a course with her if you can.

Kendell is great! Highly recommend. Her teaching is clear and she's good at explaining confusing topics. Only problem is that she talks a little fast. Exams are just like the practice exams. MC can be tricky though. Homework and learningcurves(questions on assigned reading) for each week were the only things outside of class and were easy enough.

Kendell is outstanding!!! She has taken well to remote teaching. Her prerecorded lectures are very high quality. Tests are hard. This was a hard class but she posts lots of practice problems and videos to walk you through them. She explains things very well.

It was her first time teaching this course. The class is made up of in class lectures & 3 quizzes mostly closed notes. But the main thing the grade is made up of is case papers based on different popular companies. Pretty easy but need to put a lot of effort into the big cases. Overall, pretty easy and Poch is really helpful and flexible! Recommend

Kendell has been my favorite professor so far! Her lectures are clear and she does a great job of using real world examples. If you listen to lectures and go over her exam review the exams are not too difficult!

Kendell is a fabulous teacher. I would take her again for any class. Unfortunately, I think the Financial Statements class is terrible online and this was all online. It would be much better in person to discuss all of the case studies. That wasn't her fault.

I came into Kendell's class knowing nothing about accounting. She made my experience absolutely amazing! I learned so much from her class. Kendell is very clear and concise about what she expects. Kendell is very flexible and accessible whenever you need her. She's great with lectures and knows exactly what she's talking about. Her test/class can be somewhat difficult, but if you remain focused the whole time you shouldn't struggle too much. Highly recommend Kendell, no one will teach the material better.

Kendell is my FAVORITE PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD. She's very respectable and cares about all of her students. She made a 3+ hr class feel shorter than my 1hr40min ones. 5160 is graded on three VERY easy case study papers (no longer than 2 pages), she also understands some students have little accounting experience and grades accordingly, TAKE KENDELL

I had Kendell for 5160 in the past as well and she was great! She's extremely straight forward as far as her expectations & does a great job of explaining the material. I had Kendell pre-covid and there were 2 case writeups, 2 quizzes, 4 mini-quizzes, 1 final case, a group presentation & participation points, so average work for a 2-credit course.

Poch is the BEST ACCOUNTING TEACHER! As a finance student who struggles with accounting classes, she made 5160 so clear and easy to follow that I really enjoyed it! She brings a lot of fun, positive energy to her classes, and really respects her students. Would definitely recommend this professor and class!

Kendell is an amazing lecturer who is really good at explaining accounting! She lets you know what to expect for exams and the free-response on midterms is similar to the practice that she goes over in class. There is also no final, only three non-cumulative midterms.

Kendell was a great professor, and probably one of the best to take for ACCT 2050. It is pretty lecture heavy, but that is just because of the content. Kendell taught it well, and she gives you a lot of practice material for the tests. Definitely take her for this class.

I think this class was great, Professor Poch puts a ton of effort into her class and the course material and you can tell. My only advice is to study study study, accounting is very easy to forget. Also, I suggest finding a good friend in that class who can help you when you get confused, the prof is not available that often to help out.

TAKE KENDELL CALSON KIDS! She makes videos of every single lecture that are professional and highly in depth. Probs the best accounting resource of all time. The class is simple, two types of assignments due each week (and unlimited tries!) and 3 exams total. Make sure to find friends to work on HW if you get stuck.

Definitely take Acct 5160 with Kendell to fulfill a finance elective. It was by far the easiest one. She is also extremely kind and shares a lot of interesting information about real-world business situations.

This professor is one of the best I've had so far. She had a thorough understanding of all of the material, and used real life examples that weren't always provided in the textbook. She was very kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. The best advice I could give is to do lots of practice problems, and make sure you watch the lectures.

I just took Kendell for a freshman seminar, although I am going to pick her over any professor for other courses she teaches. She is extremely intelligent and is excellent at explaining material using real life examples that make sense. I could go on and on. Any chance you have to take Kendell go for it, You will not be disappointed.

I loved this course! Accounting was intimidating to me, but Kendell's lectures and materials made it stick. She is very accessible via email and helps with homework/group work/tests when you ask for it. The lectures move quick, so be ready for that. Homework each week helped cement the ideas, but it was often more complicated than class examples.

Kendall genuinely cares about her students. Her exams are very similar to the study guides. Her lectures can be kinda long and a bit of an overload of information. However, if you focus on what she highlights as important, you will do well.

I had Kendell for MBA 6031. Her lectures were both thorough and energetic, and she was highly responsive and actively engaged with all the students. She does a great job of providing a lot of real-world examples in the course. It was clear that she genuinely cares about her students and is passionate about her subject!

I LOVED having Kendell as my first Accounting professor. She was an amazing person and super nice! She gives super helpful in-class examples. She always tried to make the lectures as interesting as possible, even though accounting is kind of a dry subject. This is common sense, but if you study, you will do good in her class.

pretty hard class for me personally but professor poch was so caring and helpful in making sure i understood the content. SO many videos to watch for notes but the HW and Learnsmart's were pretty easy ways to bump grade. 3 exams and all on Proctorio.

LOVED this class with Kendell! Lectures are amazing and made waking up early for an 8am well worth it. She explains the content thoroughly and loves when you ask questions to better understand it.
