She is completely two faced. In class she fun, and nice, but after class she is very cranky. She takes pleasure in marking tests hard and watching students crumble and fail. I don't know how she still has a job at Acadia.

Carmichael, if you have this many ratings and they are this poor...then we must be telling the truth. Horrible prof, avoidance is a must. She will cost you university scholar when you graduate as well as other awards. Drags down your entire GPA which makes you appear less capable to employers. Doing an inservice to Acadia University.

This woman is the reason I switched out of a Business major.Will drain the life from her students. If you enjoy your time on earth avoid this class. If you hate yourself and place no value on your time and work then this is perfect. Oh and if you are a Second Life fan this is your class. Trying to find assignments in a bad game is totally rad. Not.

I had worked terribly hard for just a D but she seems to overlook hard work. When I went to talk to her she didn't even seem to know what I was doing wrong so I blew up in her face. Lets just say I finally pulled it together at the end of the semester by letting her quelch all over my face.

One of the hardest markers I've had. She's horrible for feedback, will not tell you when she see's you doing something the wrong way, so that you continue to screw up. Don't even get me started about emailing her, you have to be so specific and formal or she refuses to answer. Drop her class as soon as you see it, trust me! Shes Acadias worst prof!

Kendra Carmichael marks harder than any first year professor I've ever had, her expectations are way above any first years capabilties.

Kendra is the most ironic communications professor you could ask for. In what she lacks in commuting the expectations for projects/assignments, she makes up in always wearing a smile.

Talks very briefly about what we need to know for the class. Gives horrible guidelines. Do everything she says to do and finish with a C, good luck.

She doesn't have a criteria on her acorn, it's just a general outline and she grades un-reasonability hard. Taking this course is awful as a first year. She slowly over explains everything about 3 times to pass time and treats us like were in the 5th grade. Your every micro expression in the class will get judged and will prob reflect your grade.

Professor Carmicheal is one of the worst/bias markers I have ever encountered. She will give the vaguest description for a paper/project, then she will grade the work like she gave the most in-depth instructions. To put it into perspective, If you ask any of my employers, they will tell you that communication is my strength, but it's my worst mark.

Terrible professor, doesnt email back quick. Seems to only work on days when she teaches witch with me it was once a week. Hardest grader Ive head and she doesnt email why when she grades you need to get on a call with her to get an explanation. Supper nice to talk to when you can actually talk to her in class but not so catering behind the scen

Run. Just Run. You will never find another professor that will give you 30 and 40 percent on papers for writing in a way that "doesn't flow well." She takes away points for every time you make a grammar or spelling mistake not just for the overall act of poor grammar. I have a GPA of 3.83 and receive good grades in all other classes. Please RUN

She honestly seems like a great person very nice and seems to want to connect with people. BUT every time you try to email her on a day that isn't her mandated day of work there will be NO response the work she assigns is the same work as grade 9 social studies yet she still finds a way to grade every report and like its a 3rd yr NASA course.

Walking into this class, I was very excited. That excitement changed instantly... she is probably the hardest marker I've ever had. When she marks, it is incredibly unfair and pathetic. You'll lose marks for missing a comma or if it "doesn't flow right". Participation is key in this class and she will have obvious favourites. BEWARE!!

I have no words for this class other than it was horrendous. First meeting Kendra you are greeted with cheer and an excitement about the class, thats all for show. I have always been a strong writer and strong student and this class will tank your GPA. Her grading is unlike any others and nothing you do will make her give you a half decent grade.

She is an absolutely lovely person and the kindest prof I have ever had but DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO! I did really well in all my other classes except this one. I only passed cause I talked a lot in class but most of my friends didn't. She will make you hate your writing.

Kendra marks like she has a personal vendetta against you. She will force you to talk in class as participation is worth 25% of the final mark. 90% of the time when you answer a question to your best ability she will say her favourite line, "tell me more". This makes her very unapproachable and someone who you never want to talk to. Never take this

Every day she posts forms for you to fill in, which she never tells you about so by the time you realize you have work to do you are too late to submit it. All the other reviews are true. Avoid at all costs.

Kendra is one of the worst people I have ever met. I went to only one of her lectures then dropped the course. She clearly has favourites and is very harsh. She takes attendance at the beginning of class and penalizes students who show up even a few minutes late. She shouldn't be allowed to teach and needs her license revoked. Stay away.

In your first class she'll seem super nice and you'll think the class will be a breeze until she grades your first assignment. Kendra is by far the toughest grader at Acadia even though this is a first year university course she'll grade your work as if you're taking your masters degree. I know people who have failed her class 3+ times.STAY AWAY.

Just stay away. Communications is useless yet students are marked so harshly, ridiculous. Kendra takes "tough grader" to the next level. If you don't have to take this course DON'T TAKE IT! Steer clear of her no matter what class she's teaching, she loved me, I got one of the highest marks, too many ppl fail, Biz students good luck, you'll need it.

Honestly the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. She marks too hard for first year business students and drags down your overall average by a lot. I have put 100% effort into the class and got nothing out of it. If you have her as a teacher, I feel awful for you.

Not sure how Kendra still has a job. She is so bad, I wish more students came to this website to know to avoid her. Don't be like me. Don't take her class just because it fits well into your schedule. I regret hearing her voice. I wish her and her family the best. Makes what should be a 40 minute lecture into 80 minutes because she likes to pause in the middle of the class for no reason. Grades very hard. Lectures are boring, but attendance is mandatory. Gives no good feedback. Bitter, pretty terrible professor. Avoid her class if you can. GPA dragger. Very very annoying.

Kendra Carmichael is living proof that there is no God. If you take her class, prepare to keep your nose brown. She plays favourites. She's a bad prof, but the hate is blown out of proportion. Yes, she treats most students poorly. Yes, she makes her lectures way longer than they need to be. Yes, I keep myself from falling asleep in her class. Yes, I have never felt more worthless. But she is probably still a person and doesn't deserve the hate. At least she showed up.

If you do not show up to class expect to fail, and if you do show up, expect to fail. The assignments are similar to junior high, but they are graded at a masters level. Attendance is required, but half of what you learn is outside of class or on your own. If you put 100% effort do not expect to get a grade higher than 70%. Do not take course!

Worst professor/teacher I've ever had in my life. She gave me awful grades and when asked why she said "It felt right" Don't expect to get anything over maybe a D+ you won't get it. she gotta go!

She is the real life embodiment of Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter. The resemblance both physically and with her teaching style/personality is uncanny. I had a 4.0 gpa in my time at Acadia and she was the only prof to ever give me a C. She is brutal.

I took the COMM 1213 course as it was mandatory in my first year of business. Kendra is by far the worst prof I have ever seen and was the only course I could not score in. I had straight A's in all other courses I took even in economics and accounts. this course tanked my GPA to 3.7 . Don't take this course and if you have to then take other prof.

Terrible teacher and did not grade fairly

Carmichael is one of those teachers that wants to f all the male athletes. I'm a good writer, and I got nothing over a C the entire semester. She gives zero direction on what her expectations are on each project. Expect to work on projects for weeks and get a 60. I thought people were dramatic and I'd be able to suck up to her, but boy was I wrong.

Way too much work for what it's worth. Take something else instead.

What you hear is true, It feels like less of a space for learning and more of a task to see who can play her game the best. You will never crack 70 on an assignment and I think she enjoys keeping you guessing whether you will pass or not. I suggest for your well-being throughout the semester to wait to get into the other comm class.

Very very hard. She won't give you anything higher than a 70 on an assignment, even though you put in 100% effort. You have to have perfect grammar to exceed a 70 on anything. Try and get a different prof.

Very tough grader, if you miss class you will fail, just try to avoid taking class with her.

I highly recommend not taking this course. The amount of time taken to complete assignments does not equal the grade you will receive. Highest possible grade she gives is a 70% and she gives no feedback on what you can do to improve. The group assignments were set up to receive a 20% even if you try your absolute hardest. Do not take this course!

Out of all my professors this semester, this woman was the hardest grader and hardest to communicate with even though she's a communication prof. She is not clear on instructions and when emailed asking her for insight on tests because she doesn't give outlines, she gives no other instructions. Id recommend another prof or different course.
