I was a straight A student until this class, literally, I've never gotten a C before and never struggled so hard to barely pass a precalculus class. I had a 75 and a 76 was needed to get a B, but he wouldn't even give the 1 point. Class is irrelevant to the exams, homework doesn't correlate with what he teaches, not practical at all
Prof. Huber hands out worksheets every time you attend class. Do NOT skip class, because the worksheets are a chunk of your grade and can make a difference when he finalizes the grade. His exams are more critical thinking than applied material. Do all the problems on the book, even though he doesn't assign homework.
He is nice and funny. Remember to listen to class and take notes. Notes are really helpful for tests. For the midterm and final, he provided study guides that are almost same as exams. Absolutely, it is hard. But if you study hard, you will be ok to get A
if his class is open, definitely take him. One of the best math professors. Half the class teaches, the other half we do a WS which also counts for attendance. He knows what hes teaching. HW is not mandatory. Final is cumulative. If u get a higher grade on ur final, it will replace ur other test scores. would take again.
huber is a good prof. he teaches his lectures really well and knows the content super well. participation/ attendance points are taken by in class worksheets which he'll answer any questions and which will help you study for exams. i didnt have the book so i didnt do the optional hw so i didnt get an A
Kenn was an awesome teacher! He did his thesis on some Linear Algebra topics, so he has a clear head where this class is concerned. Since he's a young professor, he has a way of connecting with his students, and he makes the course engaging. There aren't any quizzes, just in-class worksheets every day which are VERY helpful, hence, DONT MISS CLASS!
Attendance is not mandantory aside from test days, but as long as you go to tutoring and are good at teaching yourself you should do fine. He is a good professor but since the class size was ridiculously large, it's hard to attend to every student. I would recommend taking this class.
Class is half lecture half worksheet. Uploads notes right after lecture so you can use them on phone during worksheet. Some very challenging questions on worksheets if you're into that kind of thing. Test can be hard. He is the only professor on campus that will make you hate T/F questions.
He lectures only the first half of class(successfully somehow), and the worksheet you do later will fill in the gaps. Even though he talks fast his explanations are good and he offers many examples. Not too much time for questions in class but in office hours he is always glad to reteach concepts or offer extra problems. final replaced lowest test!
Exams are challenging, but you learn. His teaching style provides detailed explanation beyond textbook. Yes you will be challenged but keep up the good work because it will pay off. I worked super hard for this class. Wish I could take him for 3A but it's not in my schedule. I liked going to his lectures and he made math fun.
You care about your gpa so don't bother taking calculus with huber or else you might have to sacrifice the grades in other classes to get a C at best. The final exam is the most difficult too
Easy c Good Luck
He's a nice guy, but his exams are TOUGH. Worksheets aren't so relevant to test questions. Doing the HW helps. It's a big class and everyone needs help, so it's tough asking questions after lecture during worksheet time. He lectures very fast and it's hard to keep up. I would not recommend.
We didn't work out of a textbook, we went through a workbook handout that one of the other professors had made. There was no examples that had step by step details of how you work it out. I don't know about other people, but math does not come easy for me and I need step by step details to understand it. He runs through lecture too fast, confusing.
I took his class online. Everything is self taught, he doesn't do lectures so if that's something you aren't good at don't take!
There were mixed opinions between his students but most thought he was fair. His lectures can at times be confusing, but he will help if you ask. Worksheets were similar in difficulty, if not harder, than his tests. Kenn is very friendly and approachable, and has a heft curve for his exams, particularly the final. 100% recommend him. Good Luck!
Prof. Huber makes a tough subject like Linear Algebra approachable to all. His lectures are clear and his assigned worksheets reinforces the lectures well. That being said, study well in advanced for his exams. His second test is clearly the toughest, so watch out. Linear is very abstract so don't feel discouraged if you don't get it at first.
One of the worst mistakes I have done in my life is to take this professor. Tests are extremely hard, worksheets are hard and irrelevant to the tests. He dropped my GPA by a lot since it's a 5 units class. The final test was a mess. AVG grade for the Final test was 68%. I would not recommend him at all. sometimes I wish I could time travel...
I took Huber for both 3A and 3B, and it was the best decision. I'm not the best at math, yet Huber's lectures (little fast-paced) allowed me to do very well. His tests are the same difficulty as his worksheets. It's honestly doable for everyone to get a B, but you'll have to try for an A. Super chill and very friendly professor!!
Arrogant, disgusting, horrendous. Needs to stop teaching
I'm terrible at math, and when I say terrible I mean it. This class was probably the easiest math class I've ever taken! 2 test in person, and all the homework, and all the Quizzes were online.
SUPER CHILL. If you don't come to class you're not missing much as he uploads his filled class lectures right after class. Cracks some jokes through out the class. Grades the exams on the same day, literally you'll receive your grade on that paper 3/4 hours you hand in your exam! Trig is hard so study. He explains really well.
No mandatory homework from his 3A/3B class, but he always uploads really clear solutions to the homework. He's also got a pretty good sense of humor and his lectures generally aren't too long. Taking his 4A class next semester.
rlly cool professor! calculus is one of my weak subjects (didn't pass it in hs & didn't pass 3a with a diff professor) so i was a little worried taking a 3a/3b class in one semester. but prof. huber is really clear during lectures & his class notes are super helpful. make sure to practice w his worksheets & you should be fine! 10/10 would recommend
Huber is an extremely intellectual math professor and teaches 2hr lectures within a little over one and leave the rest to do problems on your own and answer questions. The lectures goes by fast but they are high quality, great for people naturally good at math but gets lazy hahhahh.
The prof is accessible during office hours and after class. As said before, lecture does not take as much time as listed on the syllabus. Accelerated format is hard but doable. Note: the format has changed from early reviews: worksheets are no longer used. We have lecture, optional homework, and homework quizzes where one problem is graded.
He's just great, he explains everything really well and is really caring. Do your homework and you will be good for the exams. our class was an accelerated class but it didn't feel that hard. he really makes the class fun even though it's math. and he posts he's lectures on canvas too so you don't really have to worry about copying anything wrong.
Kenn Huber is a GOD. Just answer the hw he posts and those problems will be the quiz he gives the next day. HE LITERALLY LETS YOU COPY THE ANSWERS FROM THE HOMEWORK ONTO THE DAILY QUIZ (an easy 20% of your grade). His exams are curved, the problems are similar to the homework and reviewers he gives, and he is also generous with partial credit! GOD
Prof Huber is the best math teacher I've ever had. I came back to school after over a decade off and wasn't sure I would be able to catch back up. His classes are hard but he is an amazing teacher. If you want an easy A he is not what you're looking for, but if you seriously need to learn he is great. He uploads everything online but go to class.
This Professor is the best no matter what subject he teaches. He will take his time to help you with any math problem and will explain it. Overall he is such an amazing professor and chillest then other professors. He is funny, caring, and loving. Long live the Lebron games rule.
Absolutely incredible math professor!! Calculus is inherently challenging but he explains the material so well that you really do feel prepared for every exam. Be sure to do the homework so that the daily homework quizzes are easier (since you can use your homework on them). Provides a study guide for all exams. Shoutout to the LeBron James Rule!!!
I took Math 253 online during the summer (8 weeks) and it was honestly a good experience. The online format was super straightforward and if you do the homework youll get a promising score on the midterm and final. He posts the sample midterm and final and its identical to the real exams, which are undoubtedly easier.
Some of his tests are super hard especially the final. I would not recommend taking him for this class.
Good lecture. But the test extremely hard, and its no mercy.
Great personality and lectures are concise and well taught. His test difficulty is very fair. Tests students only on things that were taught during lecture. Getting an A is very doable as long as you ask questions and pay attention in lecture.
Great professor! He has great energy in class every day, making the class enjoyable. The class consisted of notes (always conveniently posted online), a worksheet every class which is interactive (can work with anyone or ask anyone for help), and optional hw. The tests are easy/fair as long as you study the definitions and examples in the notes.
Since its an online format you pretty much teach yourself. You're supposed to use Statcrunch to do all the problems but the book only tells you how to do everything by hand so it ends up taking soo long. Wish the professor told us how to do the problems!!!
I just took his 3B class and he's easily the best math prof I've ever had. He explains things really well. People complain that his exams are hard, but in reality they're very fair. The ones complaining are the people that don't ever do their hw or study and still expect A's. Literally, just apply yourself and you'll get a good grade. Trust me.
He became our full time prof after our original prof quit. He teaches good but too fast. Ends class super early. His tests are not even close to the study guide. Its like hes preparing you for math olympiads. Hes always stressed and moody. Not the type of a prof that likes to see his students succeed. I mean its a CC not a four year.
Professor Huber is pretty chill and entertaining so classes go by fast and you always get out early. He does grade exams really quickly, but his tests are only out of 65-80 pts and scaled to 200 so small mistakes can have a huge impact on your grade. Expect to be challenged in this class, but he wants you to succeed & explains concepts if asked
This guy is the beast of math and intelligence. He teaches university style, not CC. No attendance required or even taking notes (Notes posted online), quizzes are identical to hw. Miss quizzes? replaced by exams. Lowest exam? dropped. Most of formulas given on the exam. Very accessible in office hours. Rounds grades like CRAZY. A must to take.
Best math professor at IVC if you want a quick lecture and an easy A. His lectures usually finish 30 minutes to an hour early so your'e not stuck in class too long. He is pretty charismatic and responds to emails every time within 30 minutes. He also grades the exams the same day as well. His exams aren't super hard as long as you do the homework.
NO CURVE! REPEAT! NO CURVE! Run if you are not that good at math. But his lectures are good and the notes are neat.
This dude talks extremely fast that you won't be able to catch wtf he is talking about. The class is 2 hours and he only uses half an hour to talk about the lecture. Guy is like talking to himself the whole time and expecting everyone is as smart as him. Tests are also extremely hard. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT TO PASS!
3 exams, 1 final, and worksheets. Do the WS after lecture. Highly recommend reading the section in the book prior to lecture to get a full grasp on what he's talking about (because he does go fast). His T/F questions on exams make or break your grade. STUDY THE THEOREMS! He sometimes uses different notation than the book. Must take if Math major!
I wasn't a fan before the pandemic and it got worse during. He was not responsive to questions and he rushed like mad through lectures. He doesn't use the whiteboard, he uses a surface pro. If I wanted that I could just watch YouTube videos. Poor quality lecture videos. Doesn't use textbook. Gives hw quizzes. Tough exams, but gives partial credit.
He speedruns through his lectures so you will always be confused. Exam questions are extremely hard and he makes up his own random problems you have never seen before. HW/Study guide are practically useless for his exams. No extra credit, curve, or anything that even remotely helps. Only take if you don't mind passing with C or lower.
Currently taking his math3B. No assignments and no extra credit. Weekly quizzes every Friday, which scares me the most. There are only two questions on a quiz and if you miss one, it is already 80%. The questions on a test and quiz are something you have never seen in the lectures. His lectures are a bit fast but not that much.
Before taking this class, I had so much interest in math. I participated in competitions like AIME, did problems over the weekend with friends, and constantly thought about it. Huber has almost destroyed that passion. I no longer enjoy calculus at all; the grading is SO harsh (you can drop a letter for missing 3 problems) ,'s only stress now.
I have always loved math and it has come easily to me. I received all A's with a reasonable amount of work. This class has left me hating math, confused about topics i previously knew, and unmotivated. One bad test grade will leave you with no way of getting an A. DO NOT take unless you are fine with getting a B or less after all of your hard work.
The professor's math class is difficult. You need to watch videos to learn math, and there are quizzes every week. The difficulty of the quiz is not difficult, but the exam's difficulty is even more difficult. In the exam, there will be many questions that you do not understand, and the assignments have no connection with the exam.
Took this course right after 3A and I will be entirely honest that this professor crushed any hope of an A after the second exam. With a class average of around 76 on this exam, his remark was simply better than expected. If that doesn't tell you what you need to know, maybe knowing that tests make up over 60 of the class. Hope you came for a B!
Online was fine; watch Professor Monte's vids on youtube! He replies pretty fast to emails. Due dates were the day of midterm and final so you have freedom. he allows 2 retakes for chapter quizzes which was nice
His lectures are very clear and easy to follow, you can do really well without cracking the textbook. Book problems are suggested but not required. He gives great study guides but the tests were more challenging. Very responsive over email and available on zoom for office hours. If you are a STEM major and have the chance take him.
This class was tough but doable. If you study you would do well. Just remember to do practice problems from the lectures because the tests have similar problems. There are weekly quizzes that are based on that weeks lectures.
Weekly quizzes and very simple lectures. However, he will throw the HARDEST questions on exams. Practice T/F questions. All I got to say is, he commits very minimal effort to teach and expects his students to solve his ridiculous math problems.
I'm not going to lie. You will not get a satisfactory grade for this class if you don't commit yourself to do the problems from the textbook, although they are never mandatory. Exams can be difficult indeed, so the best strategy is to schedule appointments with him and go over concepts that you are struggling with. Tough professor but very helpful!
SUPER HARD TEST. BUT MAMA, I MADE IT.
The course grade was only based on 6 tests (lowest dropped) and the final was 40% of it. Keep in mind if you make one little mistake, you might not be able to get an A anymore. I took it fresh out of high school, but if you're rusty on your previous math knowledge, it might be tough. His questions test you on calculus AND a lot of previous math.
Dr Huber is a great professor. Would definitely recommend taking 3A with him. There is only 1 quiz weekly due so that leaves plenty of time to study! He is also very easy to reach if you have any questions.
Took the class over summer 2021 after taking pre-calculus. The first two weeks in 3A were straightforward, but it got exponentially harder. The times I asked questions, I never got a clear answer. He seemed more focused to catch cheaters than actually find ways to help. He's only good to take if you have experience in calc prior for summer.
Prepares u for University-level learning. If u can pass his class, you'll do fine when you transfer. Not there to hold ur hand or be moved by excuses. Attendance not required, no HW, notes online w/ solutions; weekly quizzes (solutions posted after) annoying but they keep u sharp for Final. Drops lowest exam/quiz grade & is there for office hours.
Exceptionally clear lectures, no HW or attendance. Weekly quizzes ranging from mild to wild, and a super gnarly final. Class avg for final was 65%. Expectations are high, but the growth opportunity is too if you're up for the challenge. Regular office hours offered along with async help on discord. Lowest quiz score dropped, fast grader, take him!!
Optional HW, weekly quizzes. If you do the HW each week and work hard to learn the material then you should be fine, but this is not the average online math class where you can effortlessly get an A. Video lectures are decent if a bit cursory. I would only recommend this class if you're self motivated; I slacked off toward the end and got a B.
I took this class my first semester of college because I thought it would be smart to have a nice review of Precalc before I go into Calc 1. I was wrong, Kenn Huber made it incredibly difficult. Kenn Huber is a harsh grader and makes basic math harder than it has to be. DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS. Half the class has dropped and we are on exam 2.
Moves very fast through the notes. I took calc in high school so I was ok. I would be very lost if I hadn't learned the material before. Doesn't give you time to solve the problems in the notes yourself in class and just spits out the work and answers without time to process. Came off as kinda condescending when answering questions.
I enjoyed this class. I liked his sense of humor. He was fast to understand questions and respond to them effectively. The lectures were quick, but sometimes so quick that I had to stop writing notes and just watch. He typically posts grades the night of or the day after the exam. The 3rd section is difficult and appeared a lot in the final.
The hardest part is the subject itself, it's not his fault calculus is a hard subject. Regardless, Huber was a great professor and answered all questions clearly. His Discord helped a lot with questions I've had later on. He's a fast grader, and homework being optional prevented a lot of stress. Great class, but tough subject, so work your hardest.
As a person, he is funny but as a professor he goes through lectures very fast, makes math more difficult than it has to be, and doesn't explain his work. He posts the notes after the lecture which is nice because he doesn't explain, he just does the problem. Hw is optional but there is a short quiz before every class on the hw so practice it.
He is funny, but this class is really hard. Prob not his fault but you will have to study alot to survive.
Chose to destroy us with the final exam for some reason
Helps a lot outside of class but the exams are super hard and weighted for the majority of your grade. The final had an average of 57% with more than half the class receiving less than a C. He is funny but tough
DO THE HOMEWORK! The best way to succeed is to pay attention during the lectures and review the lecture videos and notes while you do the homework before the next class. It's optional but the daily quizzes are based on the homework questions so you can really add some points to your score. Sections 1&2 are much easier than 3&4 :)
I'm happy I took Dr. Huber's class. His lectures were entertaining and clear. Do the homework and reallyyyy make sure you understand the concepts and you'll be fine. Calculus is inherently hard, and I think Dr. Huber does a good job making it doable. If he was a little more personable and less condescending at times he'd get a 5/5 from me.
The course is challenging but Dr. Huber prepares you well. Lectures are very informative but Huber has a tendency to rush through them (especially if people are too shy or unwilling to ask questions). All the filled lecture notes are available online. I felt like I learned a lot and I feel more prepared than the other students in my 3B class.
Good at explaining things; homework optional if you can do well on quizzes at the beginning of class; fastest grader ever; not picky about showing a lot of work or simplifying answers; very knowledgable
Great understanding of the subject presented clearly in an organized structure. He welcomes questions and answers them thoughtfully and thoroughly.
Grade is 50% quizzes, 50% final exam. There are 16 quizzes, one each week. The homework was optional but necessary in order to do well on the quizzes. He was very active on the class discord and explained things very well. He posts all lectures and answer keys to quizzes / homework. He is very open to questions no matter how "dumb." Great guy.
Grade is 50% quizzes and 50% the final. The homework was optional but necessary in order to do well on quizzes. He posts all lectures and answer keys for the quizzes and homework. He was very active on the class discord even late at night. He was very open to all questions even "dumb" ones. The final was extremely fair. Great guy.
If you can't get Gupta then Huber will do.
This professor uses a flipped classroom learning style. If you are like me this style does not help you learn the material. The lecture videos are hard to follow and watch. The quizzes are on a different level to the lectures and worksheets. It is honestly an overwhelming amount of work to do outside of class.
Stuff I used to know in 11th grade became hard because Huber decided to invent a new method of math.
Spending time self-learning the material and doing homework problems is a must for his hybrid class. Lectures are precise and to the point. He's fair on grading and difficulty of quiz questions aren't too bad. You really just have to put in the hours to make sure you know the material.
Honestly save yourself and don't take him , I am not even being salty about my grade but genuinely I had no idea what was happening in the lectures and had to self teach. Lectures were useless and we only get graded on tests no HW which is stupid.
the course consists of 2 quizzes per week (with the lowest 6-8 dropped) as well as the final exam. calculus is a hard subject, but huber does a good job breaking down the concepts into comprehensible lessons. the quizzes are quite humbling, so make sure you've watched the lectures and are able to do all the problems to fully understand each lesson.
he does teach but he goes by very fast. you basically have to review the lecture notes he posts and study on your own. His tests are fair though and he gives partial credit for questions. theres a homework quiz every class so make sure you get those points- it adds up in the end! Also, don't use the bathroom during tests or you will get a 0.
Overall solid, organized professor and super cool guy. All lecture and class materials are posted online and attendance was only mandatory for the one quiz on Thursday every week. He gives tough problems occasionally but there is a lot of partial credit for all of his work and he made his final very doable. No mandatory homework.
His tests look extremely hard but they're actually really easy to do, just apply the concepts you already know, the problems are just designed to look intimidating but once you start doing them they are really simple. Also the practice problems he gives are nothing like his tests. Quizzes are way easier but he teaches well and answers all questions
I would rather break every bone in my body than ever have to take this class again. I Had a B and the final completely destroyed it and I failed. You are not set up for success in this class and even if you do good by teaching yourself, one assignment could ruin it all. Professor is no help, you won't even hear from him. Just pick someone else.
as a person, he is charismatic, and he IS the chill guy. but holy moly were the exams tough. you need a really clear conceptual grasp of linear to do well on them. the final was reasonable tho. class sessions were only like 1hr long. he curved a decent chunk at the end which saved my grade 🙏🙏 god bless
I personally had a great time in Professor Hubers class; his grading is fair, and he almost instantly grades exams. Homework quizzes every class, usually consisting of 1-2 questions(so do your homework for easy credit). Ignore negative reviews, most of them are people who failed/dropped the class; just get to know him, he's a pretty chill guy.
He's the most chill professor in the world. Even though he makes you to watch lecture videos before class, that's pretty effective since he tries to solve problems about the concepts rather than explaining things again. (You can ask him questions freely if you are confused with anything) He has quiz every class but it's helpful preparing big exams.
The chillest professor ever! Uses flipped classroom (watch vids before class), but it's not bad. Lectures focus on advanced problems, not basics. Knows Gen Z slang, open for questions, and quizzes (1-2 Qs) are easy with partial credit. Grades fast, curves GENEROUSLY, and is super approachable—just put in the work and ur fine! 🙌
Huber is a nice, chill professor. His lectures are thorough but very quick, so you'll need to review your notes and definitely do all the HW (not collected). His exams are tough, but fair. Make sure you understand definitions and concepts thoroughly for T/F problems. Classes were short- around 1 hr lecture and then worksheet. A is doable but tough
As someone who has struggled a lot with math, he is hands-down, the best math professor I've had up until this point. Very engaging lectures, lots of partial credit for quizzes and tests. All class material is posted online and the videos he has are helpful and understandable. There are quizzes each class, but they're very doable + plenty of time.
Amazing teacher. For a math teacher his notes are very organized. He gives second chances for better grades. He's funny and chill, but honestly distant from his students and doesn't seem to want to make a connection with his students. You will get your exams grades in an hour its amazing, unlike other math teachers that take forever to grade.
terrible prof never take him he'll ruin your life like he did with mine
Professor Huber's lectures are mediocre at best. He attempts to insert humor into teachings, but the jokes fail to land. His tests are profoundly difficult. You will struggle on them and he admits he intentionally doesn't make it good for the students so they "suffer." He's not here to help you succeed. Highly recommend you to avoid this class.
beautiful man. very spirited lecturer, with lots of notes. unfortunataly does the thing where he gives a worksheet for points every class, replaced by unit test but risky move.
Im awful at math, 2D was the last course i needed. If you try in this course and go to his office hours youll see he really does care.
I hear Dr. Huber is good at linear and other math courses around the college. When it comes to 3B, don't even bother taking him. He subbed in for Prof. Nabulsi's class for about 2 weeks, and gave us a very rough time. This was evident since our class average on the test was a D w/o curve. Simply, do not take Dr. Huber for 3B; there is far better.
Professor Huber feels extremely distant from his students. He lectures with his e-tablet and carries away with lessons without fundamental interaction with the class, which makes everyone get lost. The second exam average was a low D when he was a temp-sub. If your looking to succeed in a class as beefy as calculus 2, take someone else.
7pm nabulsi class really struggled with huber, his teaching is too fast paced. after his exam, everyone's grades tanked to C's and D's forced so many people to drop (avg high F low D range). don't take him.
Linear Algebra is a hard class conceptually. His lectures were good + concise, but the exams would connect different concepts. These concepts are covered individually during lectures, but some of the interplay between them were not, meaning you just need a very good understanding of the material overall, which I found hard given the subject matter.
THE GOAT!!!! Lectures are easy to follow, somewhat fast paced, and followed by some problems. You're free to work with each other on classwork. There's also (non-graded!) homework for practice. The exam problems will be new problems, not familiar exercises, and they really test understanding. You finish the class confident and better in math.
Huber is the final boss of mathematics in IVC if you happen to take him. In practice he is a very chills and pleasant guy, however his grading criteria consists only of tests, and you are not really encouraged to do homework. The exams are not hard but CONFUSING, and the true/false/stsf questions are the worst part of it.
I loved his lecture formats and quizzes after every lecture really reinforced the topics. The way to succeed is by practicing the quiz worksheets and going through all the lectures before the exams AND PRACTICE EXAMS. You need to learn actual theory because the computation is really easy, he tests on how you apply the knowledge.
One of my favorite teacher in IVC. He teaches math the way how it should be taught, go through every type of problem and organize them in an increasing difficulty manner. He can be fast, but he explains again if you ask. It is true he does not try to personally connect with his students but he cares for you if you ask for help on anything.
great lecturer, well paced lectures. class is lecture + graded worksheet(totally doable and mostly based on participation). do the HW in the textbook, absolutely essential to tests. final and exam #3 are hard RIP be careful. study the practice tests. its a really chill class with a chill professor
chill guy I can see why people would give him a 5 and I would have given him a 5 as well but after having Ahsan and Wolken who are both in my opinion absolute 5/5 teachers, Huber is closer to a 3. The truly good, inspiring teachers made me realize I wouldn't be very excited to have Huber again
I like Professor Huber and respect him as a bright individual but I don't understand why he needs to rush through the material. Our class was 2hrs20 min long but completed in 90 minutes. It didn't make any sense to go so fast when calc 3 is already a pretty demanding course. Will not take him again.
Taking DEs over summer was a crazy ride! Huber's lectures were a bit rushed and sometimes examples are too difficult to follow (I feel like I'm just copying stuff down) HOWEVER he will gladly help you if you stay after class! DEs is no joke but he made it fun Also do the HW even if it's not required. Grading is just 3 exams
Awesome prof. I'm seeing a lot of 1 ratings, and that's valid if you 1) already struggle a lot w math, 2) don't do the hw, or 3) don't like flipped classrooms. He doesn't hand hold (so don't be mad when things aren't super duper easy) but he's very thorough and very approachable. If you put in the work (and actually do the hw), you'll do well.
Lectures are very fast, so you'll have to do a lot of studying at home. He does worksheets after each lecture, and you can work with someone else. Tests include many conceptual questions.
Terrible class. No real teaching at ALL. No lectures, examples, or videos. Everything was dumped onto Pearson, so you end up teaching yourself while paying extra for an access code. Office hours were rare and filled instantly. Final is 60% of the grade, which is unfair with zero instruction. Avoid. Professor Huber should be ashamed of himself.
Jim Carrey vibes, fast lecturer, not great at explaining conceptual. Doing all hw and lecture problems should prepare you for the tests, but questions will be asked in a way you haven't seen yet. Lecture is abt 1hr + graded worksheet. Lowkey if you're not a good self-learner, don't recommend, otherwise I love his personality and he's a cool guy
Man, idk what these people are tripping about here with all the 3s and 1s. It just meant they didn't study and wanted a free A, like what? If you put in effort, you're gonna get an A. I took linear and calc3 with him, take him, he's great.
Very likable and funny guy. He teaches at a fast pace, which is great for my attention span, but can be hard to follow. He also gives a lot of partial credit on exams. I found the class to be difficult because of how conceptual it is, but I think he had fair expectations. If you're not naturally great at math just be ready to study A LOT.
Fast lectures, but in and out quick. Great guy, study and actually understand the concepts outside of class; his tests usually have some modestly hard questions, but most are pretty basic. 4 tests, with a chance to drop the lowest score with the final test grade. Test averages were around 73.
