Dr. Adolph is a very boring lecturer and you don't need to go to class as long as you study EVERYTHING on the powerpoints Grading criteria is not clear but he says usually 85% and above is an A. My advice: take class notes with all the pictures from the ppts and add to that with the notes he has on canvas. Then make flashcards for everything!

Lectures can be boring sometimes, but he gives you everything you need to know in a way that most professors don't. Grade is curved very generously, so you don't have to be the perfect student to do well. Lots of memorization, but most of it was easy, I only used flash cards for the amino acids. If you're interested in the topic you will do well.

Monotone, provides 3 practice quizzes for the 3 quizzes and 3 exams, non-cumulative final. Memorize everything in the slides that he posts & listen to lecture. No trick questions & no textbook is needed because exam questions are written based on the lecture slides. Very easy class, biology heavy, little chemistry & calculations.

I got a B unfortunately, however, it was not because of Professor Adolph. I made the mistake of falling behind on lectures which caused me to cram for exams and quizzes. To succeed, watch the lectures and annotate the LECTURE NOTES. Then MEMORIZE these annotations. Finally, take the PRACTICE QUIZZES before the exam/quiz.

Very straight forward class. Watch the lectures and memorize every little detail on the slides and you will get an A. Do not get the textbook or use outside resources, you just need to memorize the slides. Very simple class!

Professor Adolph is as boring as it gets for lectures. I scored around a B to B- per exam, but thats my fault because I stopped going to class & had to cram lectures. If you skip but memorize everything on the slides, you'll be fine. If you want an A, you have to show up to annotate everything he says + memorize it w/ all the slides info.

Class was based on 3 exams and 3 quizzes. Everything was basically off the slides, just watch the lectures and annotate and you'll be fine. Only reason I rate this professor a 2 is because I was less than 10 points away from an A and I ended up with a B and he refused to raise it.

The is a really boring class and he is really monotone in lectures. Cut off was an 85 for an A and if you got even 1 point below you get a B. Not a bad class but better to take it with someone else if you want a more fair grading scale.

The class was graded primarily on exams and quizzes. Homework is not mandatory for this class. Kenneth Adolph teaches by using his PowerPoint slides so be sure to annotate and study them to do well on exams/quizzes. He is extremely monotone so it can be very easy to doze off while watching his lecture videos. Exams and quizzes are proctored.

Kenneth is a literal angel. His exams were only based off of what he discussed throughout his lectures and his slides that went along with them. The only downside is your grade is based off of 3 exams, but it's his own grading scale. Exams this semester were in person. Great guy, only outside work is studying for the exams. No homework or quizzes

There are only three exams count to the final grade, so if you messed up one you are over. Exams full of details from the lecture and slides, even information on the picture . If you do not have a super strong brain, choose other professors who have quizzes or papers to carry you grade.

This class was stressful in that your grade is based on only 3 exams, but I crammed for exams and still managed to get an A. Although some reviews suggest memorizing everything on the slides, I wouldnt recommend doing that. Just make sure you understand the material and that you can summarize it in your own words. Drawing the diagrams was helpful.

Adolph is really nice, but the lectures are so boring and semi-difficult to follow. You have to go to class and take notes on his slides because that's what the entire exam is based on. Only graded by midterms and final. Don't take early in the morning if you don't like waking up, I fell asleep so many times. Overall nice dude, boring class.

Only graded on 3 exams, he makes his own curve with the test averages as a B. Incredibly boring lectures, but if you memorize everything on the slides and know info about them it's honestly not that bad. Only 3 exams seems risky but so many people cram for his exams and end up above average, not a bad prof for a generally difficult subject.

Some background: I dropped out of OChem and still took this. Adolph is dry theirs no denying that, but exam questions come straight from the slides. I've scored >90% on both exams. My advice: make 2 note cards for each slide he has and go over them periodically and you'll be fine. He also curves and posts recorded lectures if you miss class.

There is typically lots of information on the exams, so be sure to keep up with the material. I struggled with the memorization aspect of this course.

He is a very boring professor, and it is stressful that the whole class is graded based on 3 exams. Honestly you really just have to memorize every single thing on every single slide to do well. Which is doable, but aggravating. Very meh, but if you have to take biochem he really isn't the worst professor to take it with.

Score >90% on exams by attending lectures, annotating slides, creating flashcards/ANKI, practicing regularly, and doing practice exams. Grade based solely on exams; no cumulative final. Curve around 85% for an A. Content from slides, sometimes overly specific. But overall, easy exams! Lectures dull, so caffeinate. Not ideal for poor test-takers.

Attendance isn't required but I went to all lectures and he adds stuff he doesn't put on his slides, so I recommend going
