Very cool, funny

Mr. Bill is hilarious and sarcastic. His teaching isn't all that great, and he'll make you work hard, but he's a funny, tongue-in-cheek kinda guy. You'll like him--and he'll like you--if you show him you'll work hard.

He is funny but a hard grader...but very intellectual man...

he's very smart and funny in class. you need to work hard in his class, and i mean actually work hard. he's very kind and concerned about his students well-being and success, hence the harsh tones. i reccomend him.

he is an awesome teacher.

Class requires effort. Strict with people walking out of class. If you show him that you are willing to listen, and work hard, then he will cut you some slack. Lots of papers, and they were tedious, but now i feel i can write a paper about anything after

Mr. Bill gave me an A-... he's one cool guy. i didnt really work too hard cuz i like to write.sooo this class wasnt a challenge..but if you hate english and hate writing essays dont take his class cuz he sure does give a lot of essays. but yea..he's cool.

Dude, Mr. Bill is awesome! He is hilarious, and he really wants you to learn how to write. The first week he is strict to weed out all the slackers, but after that it is really easy if you know how to write. Science majors don't worry here!

if nothing else he is very entertaining - in class we watched movies of he talked (but he's funny when he lectures). expects you to do lots of work - but its not that bad as long as you try. warning: he always yells and says he's offended by the laziness.

Professor Bill is scary at first, but ended up being great!He is histerical! Give him a couple weeks and you will warm up to him! Show him that you respect him as a teacher and just do what he asks, it's really not that hard people!Got out early everyday!

Great teacher, easy work. He has a well formed syllabus which he obides by, so you know exacly what to exect. Give him a few days and you'll really enjoy him. Helpful if you need to talk to him outside of class. And a bonus you always get out early.

Hes funny and is good at explaining assignments

K bizzle is funny as hell. He grades papers kind of tough sometimes, but is cool as hell. Me and my roomate both overslept and missed the midterm and he let us make it up for full credit. He does make you read a lot, but it isn't that bad

Mr.Bill is a very interesting character. You do have to write 4 essays, however he is always there to talk to if you need help. Tust him that your grade will be OK in the end...talk to him, and get to know him cuz if you do, he'll go easy on you. Sometimes boring but whatchya gonna do...

A fun class, you watch movie all the time or have discussions on random topics. A tough grader at times but he is always willing to help you out and explain the assignment. Ask for help and it will end up helping your grade at the end.

Take him for either English 103/104! He may be a tough grader on individual assignments but overall your final grade will be fine. If you know how to compose a decent paper you will get an "A." Quite a character too. Plays LOTS of docmumentaries. Nice guy overall who tries to gain your respect.

He is really sarcastic and cranky. But if you show interest, talk in class and do the work well then he'll love you. His politics suck. He's an acquired taste.

While he may seem like a tough professor, he is great as long as you do your work and participate in class. He's got a great and sick sense of humor. There were people in the class who took advantage of him, so I could see why he would get pissed easily. He always let us out 10 minutes out early from class & ended class 4 classes before finals.

I thought Mr. Bill was a great prof. True, you did have to do some work..but like someone said, in the end, your grade is fine. He told me that he gave out eight "A's." Just be organized on the papers, try to write coherent sentences, and you're okay. Take him! He IS nice! Just act civilized in his class and he'll like you.

Anyone that complains about Bill is an idiot.

Professor Bill final grades are very fair and generally higher than expected - since many in the course expected grades very low. He is not to be criticized.

I was fortunate to be on Prof. Bill's good side because I could actually speak and write correctly in the English language. For anyone who has an issue with English, I suggest you avoid him. I thought he was great, aside from his constant bashing of DePaul and its students, but he's definitely not for everyone.

He's such a funny guy and is understanding when you have a problem/situation. Take his class, he is a great teacher, and has a hilarious personality!

Professor Bill was hilarious. He has a very funny, dry sense of humor. He's not a jerk at all. He makes class funny but can sometimes be sarcastic to you if you don't follow directions, but don't worry, he'll forget about it next class. Tae him. He really explains everything and is a very fair grader :-) PS turn off your cellphonr!!!

Seriously if you don't get at least a B, then you're as dumb as he makes you think you are. His class is nowhere NEAR as hard as he tries to scare you into thinking it is. And, though very moody, he's really a nice guy if you're not a complete moron. I went back and forth on whether or not I liked him a lot, but he's really not badf in the end.

At first i thought he was going to be a complete jerk but now i really like. His class was pretty much him talking the entire time muttering to himself but he is so funny. he isnt a hard grader at all. I would DEFINETLY take him again. he is awesome!!!

English 104 was hard work but I practiced my writing - which is why we were supposed to be there.

oh my gosh whoever put that comment about his wife leaving him is totally immature and cruel. he totally comes off like hes goin to be a jerk in the beginning but he is awesome and sooo nice and helpful. he just likes to weed out the idiots, and then his class is smooth sailing. he's a great guy! I highly recommend him and I'm no straight A student

Hes is a straight up teacher, he does not care what you think of him, and is not afraid to speak his mind (about anything). Yes you have to write papers, get over it... Follow directions, and show up to class and you should easily get an A, like i did... Trust me im no writter, i hate it, but he can help you out, and will meet with you b4 due dates

Awesome professor!!!

Listen to what he wants from your papers, and copy it exactly and you are good to go. Also, be a liberal or pretend that you are one. Read essays before class, pop quizzes. Always do your papers on time. The man is the most sarcastic guy in the world. He made our entire class feel uncomfortable at all times. Everyone was afraid of him.

Professor Bill frightens Freshmen because they are irresponsible and do not want to do any thinking, reading or writing. He is not the usual DePaul professor who knows you are a C student and then gives you a B+.

Some idiots in my class thought he was a liberal and pushed liberal ideas on them...What a bunch of morons!...He was open-minded and taught some of us how to think and be skeptical.

Many of my fellow students were stupid and did not like being quizzed - asked to think - and read - and write. I thought this course was filled with ideas and it taught me to think.

You have to understand three things when taking this class. No. 1, Professor Bill is very very sarcastic, and says things that can easily be taken the wrong way. No. 2, he's very political, but he uses it in a good way to teach the class. No. 3, he's a no nonsense grader. Don't leave your paper to the last minute. Your grade will reflect it.

He really is a great teacher. No one gives him a good rating because they don't understand his logic. Put effort into your paper, and you will get a good grade. He understands potential and takes this into consideration.

Professor Bill is the best writing teacher in the department without a doubt. Finally I had a professor that did not just lecture. The course was interesting and entertaining. He has a terrific sense of humor.

Professor Bill is one of the best instructors I have ever had in school.

By far the best WRD Instructor in First Year Writing Program - I have discussed this with many other students in different sections.

Kenneth Bill was one of the greatest english teachers alive, he didnt care what we did, we even came to class high. :)

Ken Bill is quite old, but is an excellent professor. I learned to think in this course, which is more than I can say for so many other courses. Stay with him for the quarter and all will be well.

Teaches how to think, read, write. I agree that he is one of the top instructors in the WRD department.

Ken Bill is one of the best English professors EVER. he made me love my english class! His sarcasm always made me laugh. His class was a favorite of mine last quarter!!!

Ken Bill is an excellent university instructor because he treats his students like adults and asks them to use their brains.

This professor is not the nicest guy, but his class is fine. Homework load isn't bad... 2 pg. Compositions every week, with research paper @ the end; no midterm or final. He does provide really interesting readings and documentaries. I would recommend his class, but don't expect a really funny and cool professor.

He's like a character out of a Richard Ford novel. Urbane, witty and bi-polar. Great fun and one learns so much in his course.

Prof. Bill's class was definitely a good one. Some days were kinda boring but it wasn't too bad. Homework load isn't bad at all, and if you have any problems with what to write he'll help you. He's a funny guy to talk to too!

Professor Bill's class was my favorite so far at Depaul.  All the essay topics are very interesting and he is very helpful towards his students.  I would reccomend him to everyone but I beleive he is retiring at the end of the year so take his class quickly.  

Professor Bill is gone now, but he was probably the finest Writing, Rhetoric and Discourse teacher in the last ten years. Unfortunately, he will not be missed by his colleagues. Perhaps some students will remember him.

Don't worry prof. Bill, I won't forget you! Hands down best professor in the English department--that I can say this with confidence says a lot about him, because I've only ever had two. DePaul is a little drier without him.
