Great teacher. Teaching style is absolutely MAD!!! Super fun class, but he can be a little offending. Overall, his tests are easy and the class is great-but he is CRAZZZYYYY!!!!

He is a caring and great teacher. He made the course worth while to take. He opened my eyes in understanding people with different cultures and religion. I reccommend this class to anyone that needs this couse and he is easy to talk too.

He's AWESOME!!!! wonderful teacher and makes class fun to be in, very down to earth and great sense of humor! I would recommend any1 to his class! Love his stories about his beloved pets and wife! Gives valuable advice to any1 who needs it and is very understanding!

Presents interesting material without shrinking from controversial topics. Gives frequent short quizes that are easy to prepare for. Encourages class discussion, and takes a genuine interest in the students. His classes are informative and entertaining. Do the work and you will excell.

I love this class!! He makes it so much fun and you spent almost half of the class laughing. He really makes the class so enjoyable that you dont want to miss any of them. I recommend that everyone takes his class, you wont regret it.

Wow... This man is one of the most (if not the most) amazing professors I have ever had. His lectures are enjoyable, desirable, and leave you craving for more of his insight and wisdom. I highly recomend him. I plan on taking all of his courses, he's really that good.

This professor states ALL the objectives to be accomplished by the end of the semester. He is very clear, helpful, nice, and most of all cares about every student passing. Take it if you're actually interested in learning something about religion. If you fail this class, you're one dumb ****!

Very obnoxious! He's good at what he does but he wastes your time by bragging! He loves to hear his voice! If you are really interested in the material you're better off doing it on your own, you don't learn anything from his lectures. I had straight A's but he wanted to give me a B for my absenses cause I didn't care about his personal life.

Once again, an amazing professor. Clear in his material, entertaining, fair, kind, caring, and amazingly intelligent. I've learned so much in his classes that they're worth taking over and over again. I've taken 3 so far, and plan on doing a third. The person with the nasty remarks is simply angry at recieving a B for absense. Ignore them.

If you want to learn the truth about the Bible, do NOT take this class! He skews the truth and attempts to debunk Christianity from every angle that he can. A very frustrating class for Christians, even though it was easy and I recieved an A. Says he's a minister, but doesn't have a real relationship with Christ, if he believes in Him at all!

I took his Survey of World Religions class. He is a very enthusiastic person and it shows in his teaching. He is very fair and flexible. However, there is not a lot of student discussion of topics.

A really energetic guy. Quick wit and humor makes class go by very fast. He was the joy of my last semester, i couldnt wait to get to his class. Not all that difficult but does require some studing. However he will allow 7 minutes of open book or notes for every test. he is one of great ones.

If you need an elective or have to take a religion class...take him he is the best....he is easy, helpfull and he really knows what he is talking about....be ready this teacher is not your typical type of teacher he is very loud and has a lot of energy....it was fun having at 8am lol

Pay no attention to the nitwit who typed 4 slots before me. He is an excellent teacher who NEVER imposes he beliefs on anyone, and if you FAIL an exam, you get to make it up! Class is almost fail proof! I can believe someone is whining about that!!His class is not difficult and with minor studying, you should earn an A, No less than a B!

Took the New Testament class and the Survey of World Religions and both were really excellent! He's very liberal and speaks his mind and tentavely listens to what others have to say! Show up to class, you don't know what you might miss! And if you're lucky you get a funny nickname..I was dubbed "Moo" don't ask why LOL

All I can say is best religion professor I have taken. He is amazing! he is smart, funny, and has a good sense of humor. All of his quizes are open book and he is very nice that he will make u do a redemption paper if u fail a quiz to bring up ur average. You defiantly learn alot in this course.take World Religions with him u will love it. =)

Great teacher, very interesting historical class, not a simple religion one. Prof. Claus is funny, loud and different from most teacher, i loved him and i would take it again if given the chance. He can be a little extreme sometimes, but he is very understanding. If you need an interestin elective, and not just an useless one, go for it!

Prof. Claus is full of life and is a very interesting person. His classes are fun and you actually learn a lot! This class (summer) had 8 quizzes total. (Fall & Spring have 10). Some quizzes were easy, some were hard. His questions sometimes don't make sense. But he's there to help and wants you to learn. Dont miss class and you will get an A or B.

I think it is VERY easy to get a good grade in this class and Claus is genuinely a nice guy, but instead of expalining the old testament he basically just disproved everything. It became a b it annoying after a while. If u just need a credit/good grade take him. If you want an unbiased take on the OT get someone else.

This was my fav class. I think he presents the material in a very unbiased manor. Yes he does look at your redemption papers expecting a proper paper but i cant blame him. That paper replaces your failing quiz grade and we are in college so i understand why he wants a paper that has been written in proper English. I highly recommend this class.

Great guy, great teacher! I don't like religion and curse at God all the time, but this class is really interesting. Lots of historical facts and interesting material. Took him in the summer and had fun. Loud as needed at 8:00AM! Take him, open book tests, funny class, get ready to laugh and cry! If you need 3 cool credits go for it!

Great professor. Knows religions backward and forward. Goes off on tangents all the time, but they're interesting to listen to. You take 7 quizzes and write a 1 page outline. If you're not happy with your quiz grades you write a 1 page outline or paper on whatever religious topic you want. Easy class.

He is the best religion professor you can have. I took his world religion class and when I found out he was teaching Old Testament I signed up for his class bc he is the best. If you do poorly on a quiz he is a fair professor and lets you write a redemption paper to replace it with the poor quiz. Easy A take him.

I loved this guy! He is beyond nuts! Not only are the quizzes open book for 7 minutes or so but if you don't do too well you get a second chance and can write a 'redemption paper' to improve your grade. I loved that and it really helped me out in the end. Going to class was so much fun and I think that goes for most people who have taken him!

This man is amazing. He makes everything about religion interesting. He will make you laugh. He's a combination of Robin Williams and Lewis Black. He is fairly easy. The tests are solely based on the textbook, so it won't seem like he's basing everything only on his opinions. Also during the test, open book is allowed.

(Continuing from below) Also, he gives out redemption papers if you bomb in one of the tests. You don't really need to take notes since the tests are based on the textbooks. That's a good thing because his hand writing is a mixture of Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese. He does have a tendency to go on a rant on off topic things.

(Continuing from below) One moment we're talking about Zen Buddhism then some how we're talking about square dancing. However, it's because of these off topic rants that makes the class so fun and interesting. Don't be surprised when you walk into class and the song "I'm a barbie girl" or heavy metal is blasting from his radio.

(Continuing from below) That's how unconventional he is compared to everyone in Dade. He welcomes any questions you have for him. In fact, I think questions are one of the things that keeps this great man alive. However, his knowledge is somewhat limited towards religions such as Sikhism, Jainism, and others. Remember it's an introduction course.

One of the BEST professors I ever had. My mom had him--she recommended him. He understanding of situations. He entertains not bores the class--let's just say you will enjoy when he reads poetry (Lady Gala songs). I love him. This is my second class with him...planning to take more!

My favorite and most admired professor I've taken at Miami Dade. He's full of life and extremely intelligent. He's very kind and understanding and will help you with any of the concerns you may have on course material. If you're debating about taking his class i'd highly recommend you give him a chance because he's a wonderful teacher.

Great professor, never a dull moment! No final, no midterm, 1 outline paper, 6 exams. All exams except a few are open book for a few minutes, "redemption papers" to raise exam grades. Very smart, very involved, very fair! You will never forget Dr Claus! TAKE THIS CLASS!

He is super funny and incredibly nice. he gives quizzes the first couple are take home. The others are in class but super easy he gives you reviews that are exactly like the test. There is no way of failing. One outline to do but it was super easy. He is very clear with what he wants on it. TAKE YOU WILL NOT REGRET!!

One of the best professors you could find in any institution of higher learning. He makes learning about all the major religions in the world interesting and comprehensive. Not only is he a great professor, but, overall, he's an amazing person that cares for each once of his students. I highly recommend him!!

I honestly didn't learn much, Dr. Claus gets sidetracked easily and talks a lot about himself, but his quizzes are simple and you have 10-20 minutes open book. He also offers extra credit assignments to make up for doing poorly on a quiz. Overall, he's a nice, genuine, caring man who has good intentions and really loves teaching.

He does get side tracked but I feel like its because he feels comfortable talking to his students and you could tell he loves what he does. He makes world religion easy to understand and helps students get the best grade they can (make up tests, more time for hw, excused absences) he such a sweet soul.

Amazing personality and overall person. He will care about how much you actually learn and how you do in the class. He lectures throughout the entire class and gives out papers to outline details. There are 7 different quizzes (7 religions) and 1 outline (replaces midterm), great class and recommend anyone to take it; fun experience.

All he assigns is one outline and open book quizzes. You can skip the outline and still finish with a high grade.

Where do I start. Dr. Claus is a phenomenal professor. He combines his life experiences with lecture. He is smart, knowledgeable, funny, witty, entertaining, and full of great stories. He is very fair and tells you exactly what to expect. The quizzes are all from the book and the out line is pretty easy depending on what subject you pick.

Many people are saying he goes on tangents, but he's quick to come back to the topic at hand! Attendance only mandatory because it was online. Tests/quizzes are SUPER easy - open book. He says you need to buy the textbook BUT he always sends documents of what the text will cover. Outline is "final project" Kind and will work with you on everything.

Mr. Claus is such a breath of fresh air! He's funny and is truly humbled by his students. He can tend to go on tangents sometimes about things that aren't related to the lecture HOWEVER there are only 6 tests and an outline - SUPER easy. Textbook wasn't required (for online). Actually made religion interesting!

All he gives are quizzes and an outline. Easy A. He really cares about his students which is nice. He is just so louddd but i know he does it to keep his students awake. He's there to help, he is very understanding. Take this class, it will be an easy class to pass.

I don't normally rate professors but hands down this professor is AMAZING! I choose the online class for the spring semester. No regrets here. He cares for his students and wants you to succeed and learn something that will actually stick. He answers emails quickly and attendance is mandatory. 10/10 He's the best!

If you're debating whether or not you should take this professor - TAKE HIS CLASS! If I could I would take it over again. He is a very informative and understanding professor and gives great lectures. There are 6/7 religions studied throughout the course, with a quiz that you email him after each one! No exams & one outline due at the end!

Pretty hard class to fail. Lecture heavy for sure, he'll go off on tangents so it may be hard to focus. He's on his second heart, but surprisingly has loads of energy. He is funny and kooky. I wouldn't recommend taking him at 8am if you're not a morning person, unless you want death metal blasting thru your speakers during breaks. Learned a lot.

Sometimes he talks so much and goes off on a tangent where you can't really understand what hes talking about but you get used to it after a couple weeks. He doesn't use blackboard and does everything thru google gmail! His class is extremely easy and he definitely gives a lending hand when you ask. really bubbly personality and book not needed.

Amazing professor by far the best one I had at MDC. His lectures are so brilliant and interesting. The class consisted of quizzes and an optional outline. Everything is submitted through email very easy and he grades very fast. Is very hard to get a bad grade. The best MDC professor recommend him 100%.

Kenneth is more like a friend than a professor. His class is pretty simple, he clearly goes over very specific topics. Then you'll be quizzed on those exact topics. He gives you the choice to write a outline paper for extra Credit and I highly recommend you do it. He's different than most, but once you get over it he's an great professor

I was just taking this class because it looked interesting, but I would still take this class again even if I didn't have to. Just make sure to look at all the resources he gives you to make sure you do good on his take-home tests.

This man loves his job and students SO much! The class is based on 6 quizzes and 1 optional outline. All quizzes are open book and he will send you the pages which have the answers. He sends you a PDF of the book so no purchases. He also always finishes class early! I adored having him as my professor and listening to his crazy stories. Take him!

First: incredibly sweet person. He's so engaging I've never seen a professor this great at getting everyone to talk. 6 unproctored exams that actually encourage you to use all the resources he gives you, optional outline. Only complaint is that his wording feels like riddles so it's a little unclear. Take him if you want to casually learn.

One of the best professors I have had at mdc. He cares for all his students and makes sure that everyone is able to get the best grade possible. Took Professor Claus during the Summer, so the attendance was pretty much mandatory. The tests focus on his notes, lectures and test.This class has an emphasize on being open minded as he goes over different sects of Religions that he covers in the lectures. He is respectful and unbiased when discussing the various Religions throughout the course.

An amazing person and professor. His class was very easy, even for people who do not know much about religion. He has a great sense of humor and is very entertaining. The class consisted of 5 short papers which were simple and 2 open book/note quizzes. He is clear about the criteria for the 7 assignments and can allow retakes. Would take again.

He was a great professor, lenient, understanding, and class was chill, what he taught was very interesting and I looked forward to joining. He is kind of encentric but in the best way possible haha, I would take him again. The work was short and super manageable. If you'd like an interesting, funny, and enjoyable online class, take him :)!

i absolutely LOVED taking this professor! i've never had someone so kind and communicative. his passion for the subject and teaching shines through every lecture and he makes every class the funnest ever. there are a couple of papers and quizzes that are very easy and he grades kindly. more people should take this class because he is amazing!!!!!!!

He's a king. The course consisted of some papers (2-3 paragraphs each) and 2 quizzes. All are super easy and quick if you use the attachments he sends via email and the textbook. He likes when you guys have your cameras on and engage in conversation so please do so if you take him. I liked this class a lot!

He is very funny and sweet. He gives us good feedback and actually tells us how to improve. He is very open minded and respects everyone. He also works with us instead of just teaching and leavimg. Would recommend.

Great professor. He makes the class entertaining and is very thorough about everything and makes sure you understand the assignments. He is also very knowledgeable.

He is an amazing professor—fun, caring, and supportive. He gives plenty of time to complete assignments and provides helpful feedback to improve your grade. All quizzes are take home and open book. He responds to emails and questions very quickly. This was the easiest class I've taken, and I would 100% take him again!

Very easy class and Dr.Claus is very Knowledgeable. He is super nice and is a very caring professor. You do have to do a little writting but it is really easy if you read the book and pay attention in class. Everything is take home and email the assignments to him.

Professor Kenneth Claus was such an exceptional person. One full of humor and experiences that even I felt drawn to, his grading criteria was straight to the point as well as his lessons! I will deeply miss his lectures very cool guy!

He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, including how assignments should be completed. I just started his class today, and I'm already impressed.

I rarely if ever write reviews, but Professor Claus is amazing. His classes are fun and easy to follow, and he gives you ample time to do the few assignments that are even due. He's very accessible out of class and he's a fun and hilarious person! 10/10 times I would take this class again in a heartbeat.

He cares heavily about his students and his grading criteria is clear about how he wants the assignments done. I enjoyed his class, he was fun to talk to and fun to have as a teacher. He's very good at responding to emails with any questions, I recommend taking his class.
