Only need to pass to get a B in class. 2 tests and a final. goes over beforehand. Even GIVES you the actual test beforehand. There's EC on the tests. AND gives EC that can boost grade 2 grades (e.g. B+ to A). Don't need any books; gives you packets. Take him if you can! VERY EASY A!

This guy is a total nut job....but u'll enjoy the class....he tries to make it impossible to do bad....gives answers to midterm and final before....en extra paper which can boost u up a whole grade and there are lots of Extra credit on tests....just dont miss class cause attendance is taken seriously

This metaphysics class was an eye opener to the real world. I learned the secrets of how to get the most out of life. Its all about the present. Prof. Foldes is a great teacher and a good person. You will get a lot out of the class. And its easy to get an A. He does what he can to make it enjoyable and fun. Defidently take with class!

A real game changer for those with an open mind. The professor is great and especially relevant today as he is the only one proposing solutions for ALL the worlds problems. Sadly some students tune out the entire class, but if you read and engage you will learn about your true nature and how to live the greatest life imaginable. Take this class!

Class was very interesting, and anyone can relate to it. Dr. Foldes is very clear and helpful. He uses the Jedi as a reference to relate the material. Buy into the course and listen to his lectures. Study a little and you'll get a good grade. His textbook has all the answers to the class and to the world's problems. Highly recommended.

Professor Foldes is a great professor. He is truly passionate about the subject matter that he presents to his students. And I think that is important nowadays when teaching. He makes the class interesting, relevant and eye-opening. To get a good grade, it really depends on the student. You must be willing to participate and open your minds.

He is the man. Go into class with a open mind or else you wont understand anything he is talking about. He gives you review sheets which are the exacts questions on the test you just have to do them yourself and memorize it. Highly Recommend him

He is a scholar who presents the course through a unique perspective focusing on Hegel's philosophy in an ideal "Jedi" world, which he teaches from his compilation of history's greatest thinkers on life. Foldes'ideas are fascinating! Highly recommended for philosophy students with open and abstract minds seeking intellectual enlightenment.

Dr. Foldes gives a different take on a course that would otherwise be very hard to understand. You need this class and I highly recommend him. Do get the text book it will pay off having it. And if you like star wars then this class will also be a plus for you

i took dr foldes for metaphysics. great class if you go into it with an open mind and try to understand the beginning concepts of the class the rest of the semster will flow easily. gives the test out before the exam and plenty of chances for extra credit. you learn a lot in the class. by far one of the best classes ive taken in my college career

one of the easier metaphysics teachers. the jedi motif he uses to explain metaphysical concepts is really helpful. there are weekly hw assignments that just need to be done for credit, a midterm, and a final. he offers extra credit projects that really boost up your grade as well. definitely reccommend taking him

Amazing professor. Weekly hw assignments (answers are in the book, literally), midterm, final. Midterm and final given to you prior to the real ones, so that you can know the questions and answers prior to the real test. Loads of chances to get extra credit. Interesting class, too. I took the 3 hour/week class and he usually let us out in 1.5 hour

Easy A. I never went to class, and still pulled off an A. You have to submit all the hw before the final to get credit for it, he gives you a chance to boost your grade a letter and a half, and gives you the midterm and final in advance. Only downside is that you have to buy the books.

He was helpful and gave you ample opportunities to earn at least a B+ with his extra credit. He also gives you the tests beforehand so take advantage of it. Overall fun, helpful professor.

Metaphysics of a Jedi....One of the best most interesting classes that I have taken at St. John's! Fun class, we watch movies, have little homework..and he is a VERY fair grader... overall great class and great professor!

Where does one start? If you are interested in taking a philosophy course with a "JEDI" oriented structure then this is a class for you. If you are like me, and want a class that is straight forward and easy to succeed in, then not for you. Gives a ton of extra credit, but that doesn't compensate for my regret of taking this class.

Professor Foldes is an outstanding instructor, who really teaches you the true meaning of life and our very existence. Take this course if you are an open-minded student, willing to learn the deeper meaning of life. If you are lazy and/or narrow-minded, this course is not for you. Otherwise, this is the perfect introduction course for PHI 1000C.

Very nice professor. The concept is difficult but if you are willing to do the readings and study you will do just fine. This class is for people who WANT to learn, not people looking to do nothing and get a good grade-- that will not happen here. Put in an effort and you will get a lot out of this class.

Professor Foldes' class was great, he teaches Jedi Metaphysics although it was challenging, if you pay attention and do the work you will be fine on the exam. I definitely recommend taking him. He's the man.

Teaches in a very different and unique way, and gives ton of extra credit so it is very easy to get an A! Take him for an easy A and a very interesting course.

This class really changed my outlook on life and I see things differently. Real Talk: Make sure you keep up with the writing assignments. Exams given before hand so everyone should do extremely well if you do all of the work. Also plenty of extra credit if you fall behind!!!

This was an interesting class which taught Metaphysics from a unique Jedi perspective. He shows interesting movies in class and it was quite educational. He gives you extra credit to help your grade with a midterm, final, and paper. But you have homework which is okay. I recommend this class for Metaphysics 100%. You will not regret this course!

Little did anyone know, I was messed up in the head and it was because of this class did it change my perspective of things. Very approachable guy who cares about his students. Homework is easy, exam samples given before actual exams. A lot of extra credit, and great documentaries, some will stick to me forever. Got an A.

This class opened my mind up to a different perspective of life that I'm really grateful for. There are two tests :midterm and final. Homework assignments due before each test. Nothing too hard, all the answers are in the book. Class may seem too drag on too long but i would still recommend it.

This course is very different from the conventional classes most students take but it is very inspirational. Dr. Foldes teaches Metaphysics through the prospective of the Jedi Force and teaches you to look at life in a more positive way.

I took this three hour course as well as another three hour couse before this class and I can honestly say, this class was worth it. This teacher actaully changes the way you think (and trust me I'm not interested in philosophy at all). All I can say is that this teacher is actaully amazing and gives a lot of extra credit! The entire class focuses on Star Wars; it's hilarious! If you understand the same few themes, you will easily pass. It's all repetitive. There is a ton of reading and mandatory homework, which is collected before each exam. The book, which he wrote, is required. Not hard to pass and he is a fair grader. He claims to be a Jedi, though...

Get ready to be "unplugged". This metaphysics course throws a lot of information at you that you may not be prepared for however it is worth it. Get exposed to history's greatest philosophers, writers, gurus, and etc. Listen to the man who condensed all this information into the Jedi Handbook. Easy A if you do all the homework!

His class is great because as long as you read the text, you can easily do well in his class. The entire class is based off one concept and he stresses it throughout the entire semester. He plays movies at the end of every class. He gives a ton of extra credit and if I could I would take him again. He cares about you and wants you to learn.

The movies he shows in class helps you relate what he's teaching to the real world and once you're out of the class you feel like you want to do more to help the world. Take his class!

Professor Foldes is an excellent professor, and the class will open your mind into a new perspective! Professor Foldes is pretty fantastic. We bonded over a mutual love of Star Wars and Marvel, but there's something in his classes for everyone. His class is an easy A you just have to do the homework and he offers a ton of extra credit opportunities, AND his class is actually interesting.

Kenny is a strange professor but overall the class was not bad at all. One midterm one final both open textbook "The Jedi Handbook" which you will need for the class. He offers a 3 page extra credit paper that's due on the day of the final. One group presentation in the middle of the semester. Homework every week which is manageable.

Foldes lecture can get a bit boring at times, but attend class! Few questions in the exam come directly from the class only. Homework is tedious, but he's not extremely strict on the due date. Exams are open book. Extra credit to boost your grade 1/2 - 1 letter grade. Overall, an amazing professor that will affect the way you see the world!

Interesting class, there is weekly homework and two exams. But if you do the homework you will know the material and get a good grade in the course. Talks about current issues rather than just past philosophers which keeps you a bit more engaged than philosophy courses normally do.

His JEDI handbook goes to the root of the problem that our world faces today, and details the ways in which we can overcome those problems. It is a wonderfully profound book. In addition Dr. Foldes is a great teacher, he is always available if you need help with anything.

This is how a class should be; show up, do the required work, and you won't have to worry about your grade. The Phenomenology can be difficult, but the Jedi handbook is clear and fun to read. Prof. Foldes is definitely worth taking. Attendance is required but his classes are interesting. There is homework assignment (based on the readings) after every class but nothing too difficult . He offers extra credit and is always available after class or through email.

Dr. Foldes is a great professor. He assigns quite a few homework assignments but grades are based on effort and they will definitely help you on future exams. PHI3000 is a core so if your major requires a lot of work, I would suggest finding another class. If not, enjoy the ride because it's really an inspirational class and you'll learn a lot.
