I took his honors psych 100 class. He basically told us that as long as we did all the work, we'd get an A. That's my kind of guy!
Seems nice enough. More professional than a lot of people who teach here. You get the feeling he should be at Northwestern, not here. He should lose the link to the are-you-subconsciously-**** test, though. Political correctness is so over and dead.
DRINK plenty of coffee or other cafenated beverages before and during class. He is very DULL and BORING. The tests are easy. The class is easy. If you need to boost your GPA, take the class. If you are considering a major in Pschology, stick with Shavalia
Great prof... Very easy going, and funny too. But he makes you think, and I like that in a teacher. Very knowledgeable too, was at Northwestern actually b4. Didn't like atmosphere there.
Very good instructor. His classes long, but he keeps you entertained with some fun videos and experiments. Very helpful guy as well.
Ken's lectures tend to get long at times, but he makes them interesting. Very helpful. Lots of discussions in the class complimented by videos. he's one of those few teachers that cares about what you think.. great guy
Ken is a great teacher and is very personable. His lectures are fun and discussions are very active. It was a great class and I highly reccommend Ken!
Ken is a great guy. Classes are long, but he keeps you thinking and entertained. Has some fun and creative videos and experiments. The material isn't rocket science, but you still have to pay attention. Good teacher.
The class is easy, but not much gets taught. If you are self-motivated and seek him out, he can be very helpful and knowledgeable. The majority of class time, however, is spent going over "what we are goig to do next."
Ken is an awesome guy. He is a great teacher. If you want to learn something while having fun Ken is the way to go
This was an awsome class! Ken was an awsome teacher. There was no homework, just reading. His quizzes were pretty easy, and his tests were ok if u study. He does not cover all the material you read, but overall he is an amazing teacher, and I would recomment him to anyone. I actually liked going to
KEN WAS AN AWESOME TEACHER! HE HAS INTERESTING STORIES ALL THE TIME. HIS TESTS WERE ALSO VERY EASY AND HE IS ALSO VERY LINIENT. ON MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS HE ALSO LETS YOU CHECK A SECOND ANSWER AND GIVES YOU HALF CREDIT IF IT WAS RIGHT.
He was very interested and concerned with the students and their grades in the class. He was helpful!
ken is a nice guy a little boring but nice. he wrote his own book so all you have to buy is that blue remote thing. his tests aren't hard just pay attention. to pass his quizzes everday all you have to do is get 60% of it right. he's not hard, just study.
Awesome teacher. He makes the class very interesting with videos, songs, activities, etc. It isn't just taking notes. As long as you go to class, you will do well on the tests. I forgot I had a test one day so I didn't study but I still got a low B. Take his class, you won't regret it.
Ken is an excellent teacher. In fact he is the best teacher I have had so far. Class is always interesting and makes psychology fun. Take his class.
Ken is one of the best teachers I've ever had. His class is so fun, and he treats his students like adults. You can tell he's very dedicated to his family, and he uses them for examples in class (that are often quite humorous). His class is easy to do well in because he makes it fun to pay attention. Ken is great.
great teacher. 3 exams and 3 projects all very easy and understandable, also reading quizes that are easy as well. MUST read and attend class to easily pass the exams, very enthusiastic. very clear on what psychology is and all that deals with it. great help when asked for. easy A, even though i got a B, it was my fault for not reading some modules
Ken, was a great smart teacher, very helpfull, and a good adviser. I was dissapointed after the final,I turned in all my projects and extra credit ones, and I found out I had a C for the class. I guess a screwed up on the test. But, I still can't beleive it. I was very hurt by that. But, I still think he is a good teacher. I respect him.
He's a smart guy, but takes too long to explain things and his class is pretty boring.
awesome teacher.. interesting stories and examples.. very unique teaching method that is helpful to students.
Great teacher. Look at what everyone else says, that's what I think.

What an awesome teacher! Great person to talk to, and looks out for the pople who actually do the work and make an honest attempt. Even if you are not into Psychology. I took him twice and would again if I could or needed to!!!!!
Ken is super nice and is always willing to help.
Professor Gray was an excellent teacher. He takes time to explain everything. He's down to earth and very huumble. Not to mention smart and super hot.
His tests are take home. He is an easy grader...can drown on, but is interesting.
He is soo awesome. he is the nicest guy you will find and is really rational and easy. do the assignments, which at first might seem alot but its not. and be there for the quizzes and you are guarenteed an A. the easiest teacher and the coolest you will ever find. you won't regret him. take him. i promise, he's good.
I loved this class. Took it through honors, and he is very personable. Thoughtful, rational, and very smart. very interesting, and challenging-made you think alot. Funny and really easygoing. Tests not that bad, and grading pretty fair. Overall, Id take a class with him anyday.
Pretty dull, and not interesting. Really into himself, and his methods. Not a hard class, but you will find it hard to well up the will to attend this sleeper course. If you do take this course or teacher, I do recommend goin, because if you don't, you'll probably fail.
one of the best teachers i've ever had
Ken is awesome. He is super easy and really knows what he's talking about. He doesn't teach out of the textbook but instead relates his lectures to the real world, where it applies to us. He is very down to earth and loves it when students ask questions and engage in good discussions. Take him, you will not regret it.
cool teacher, very helpful. very interesting the way he related topics to the real world and how into it you really can get. i'd recommend taking this class and showing up for a good amount of classes, but if you miss a few, you'll still do fine
talked about his family a lot, but that was good. easy to pass clicker quizes, just skim the chapters he assigns. it will be extremely hard to fail this class if you come every day and participate and talk in class. i liked professor gray a lot and he made psychology very interesting.
This professor is extremely helpful, he made the class a lot of fun.
OMG you better take him! i was so anxious when I first entered his class but he makes you feel so at ease. ur never stressed out and dont have much work. He doesnt even have deadlines! I'm so grateful for taking his class. This is the one class i look forward to going. its so much fun, you dont even have to put in much effort to get an A. TAKE HIM
This teacher is GREAT! SOoo much fun. Teaches well.. just need to learn his style.. laid back :). Very easy A. You gotta be an idiot not to pass. Very clear. Don't really use the book. Does his own teaching his way.
great teacher, pretty easy if you do all the stuff OUTSIDE of class becuase that the majority of your grade
Guy walks in the first day, looks like he could be a thirty-something student. Very laid back personality, but he legitimatly wants to make your life better for having taken his class. Major grades were three tests, and three projects. projects are easy, and if you pay attention he goes over more than 80% of test material in class.
Best professor I've had, honestly. Fun class, casual environment. Not a lot of lecturing on the text (good and bad). Interesting projects. Does a great job relating psychology to everyday events.
Wow. This guy is such a joke. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and you're basically destined to get an A. For some people that's enough, but I think it's degrading. He NEVER lectures, because apparantly our "teen-aged minds wander too much" and so we can't learn anything from lectures. Thanks, Dr. Gray. I offically learned NOTHING from you class
Honestly, I learned absolutely NOTHING from his Psych. 1100 Honors class. He must have a vendetta against the education system because he felt no need to have an organized class or lecture on material. I feel like I wasted my time in class. It's just a very odd feeling experiencing a Prof. like that. Extremely easy and chill. Dresses laid back.
yeahhhh, totally learned nothing- which is fine, cuz i'm not gunna be a psych. major. He is one of those chill, "against-the-man" types. Want an "A"? go to class, participate in class discussions, and make sure you turn in all the easy homework he gives you before the end of the semester. He thinks deadlines are stupid, so there are none. sweeeeet.
Ken is great. Come to class and do the homework and you will get an A. The whole semester I thought that I wasn't learning anything, but afterward (and now) I realized how much I did learn. Yes, his class is relatively easy, but if you participate, you will learn something. This is a great way to teach.
Very helpful teacher. I learned a LOT in this class about myself and psychology. Do the reading. He wrote the textbook and he lectures in class how it's written. Very fun, very enjoyable. He's a knowledgeable professor. If you want to learn, you will.
He's a great teacher! All those students who think the're not learning anything, dont go to class. He can stray off topic at times, but he's a great guy as well as teacher. Take his class, you'll have fun!!
Nontraditional teaching style but if you do involve yourself you will learn a lot and grow to love his personality.p.s. he's hott
He has a unique way of teaching. He want his students to develop their own way to learn. Tests were take home and contain a lot of real life situations. It is a great way to learn Psychology.
Ken is a wonderful teacher.. not only funny and insightful but very knowledgable about what he's teaching. He's a lot of fun and if you enjoy psych & want to learn at a higher collegiate level take his class- he'll challenge you and pull out the best. Very funny and enjoys telling stories. Hard, but if you apply yourself u'll do well.plus he's hot!
Ken has an odd way of teaching, but really challenges you to keep on top of your own stuff. The tests are take home and pretty easy. He loves to talk about pointless things during class so if you want him to teach you during class YOU have to keep HIM on task. Ask a lot of questions! ;) For the most part it is an interesting class!~
SO here's the thing about Ken. He thinks he's so cool, but he is really not. It took me awhile to warm up to him. After awhile I did, but if you are used to traditional teaching styles in college, you are in for a shock. Ken wants you to do all the work. He is VERY LAZY! It drove me nuts, but if you participate in class it is not so bad. I got an A
Honors psychology can be really fun. Although, you will only learn if you do the reading and participate in class. Over all, the class was a breeze. Just do not leave all your assingments for the end like I know some peopld do because otherwise you will b super stressed.I made a lot of new friends and enjoyed going to Ken's class. He is super chill
Turned everything in the night before the last day of the semester and got an A. Enough said.
Nothing is really do in this class until the very end. Ken gives you assignments on Blackboard but they are super easy. They are basically reflections about the reading. By the way, you have to buy his textbook. HIS textbook is kind of lame. Actually, it's really lame because the font is super small and it's boring. GO to class though and participa
Ken has reading quizzes every so often to make sure you're reading the text book. If you get the majority of the quiz right, you get full credit. Plus, you only have 3 homework assignments which really aren't that long or hard. Ken relates real life situations to psychology which makes it easier to learn. TAKE HIM! HE'S GREAT!
Great Teacher. Like any other class if your not too interested in the subject you wont pay attention much and care bout what the teacher says & teaches. But Ken trys to explain everything as good as he can and relate everything he teaches to real life. If you need to take a Psychology class def... take it with Ken. Honers or regular.
His class was very easy. Just do the work and you will get an A. When it came to teaching he was very disorganized and lazy. He talked about other things that where not related to the book. He was boring at times.
Ken's lax teaching methods can be both refreshing and irritating (some days I'd ask myself why I actually showed up for class..) but all in all, I learned a lot, engaged in some thought provoking discussion, and wound up with a good grade. He's worth taking while at COD. ..and sometimes easy on the eyes.
Hes a really good professor...he wrote his own textbook so u will be using that one..i took his 1101 class and it was great! hes really helpful....highly recommended...but his test are are HARRDDD!!!!! studdyyy for those!
He is one of those teachers that you need to take the class for yourself to understand what i mean. words dont describe this character, if you want an easy A, take him, if you actually want to learn, look elsewhere.
this guy is sooo relaxed it makes you kind of angry. why are u in class, u wonder..? he comes to class not knowing wat we'll do that day. the syllabus was unclear cause we never went over it. all homework/projects were crammed in the last 2 weeks of the semester, which disappointed lots of ppl. he posts grades veeery late! :(
Great professor! The class consists of mostly reading, its crucial you read on time, it's quite interesting, he has many real life examples that go with his book, so do all the reading, study for exams, and go to class and you should get an A, oh and there are a few projects that are due at the end of the semester. Take him!
KEN GRAY ! wow he was a great teacher! I have never gotten so into a class until i took him. The only thing is you have alot of reading to do...and the chapters are kinda long. That would be the only bad thing i would say. He is so funny and likes to joke around and have a good time. He is goofy and loves his students. TAKEE HIM!
Flat out the best professor I've ever had. Take him. He's incredibly interested in his material, has a flexible syllabus, and understands that students have a life outside of psychology class. If you like a more structured class, this might not be for you but I thought he was wonderful.
cool teacher, very happy and joyful. i dont like it when he just tells us to read the chapters then we have quiz and test on those chapters, we rarely discuss from the book.
He's a great teacher. Uses real life experiences to teach. Learned many life lessons from his class. Do have to read to do well on the tests. Everything is due at the end of the semester.
Cool guy--low key, bright, flexible and loves his subject. You want to do well for him, but you have to be self-motivated. Interesting class, fun, never boring. Tests are challenging so keep up with your reading and make it your goal to do well on the reading quizzes. Do this and you'll do well on exams. Just keep up with the material. Show effort.
Dr.Gray is the best professor you could possibly have. He understands students and doesnt assign "busy work". If you go to class, motivate yourself, and stick to your reading you'll be fine. His exam questions can be tough, but if you put in the work you'll walk away with a lot more out of his class then a grade.
I love this teacher, I'm in his class right now, and he is phenomenal. He doesn't make class boring and he's extremely relatable and fun. I've learned a lot from his class so far and I'm really enjoying it. I definitely plan to take another one of his classes if i can
I love this teacher he is super nice and helpful. He makes the class intresting and his tests were never that hard. Be sure to keep up with your keep up with your reading it helps . Highly recommend taking him if you want a good teacher.
Ken is amazing. He keeps the class moving and creates a very friendly classroom environment. You don't feel like you're learning much in class but you really are. The tests are easy if you skim the readings. If you're not a good test taker he makes it so you can still pass with his grade distribution. Highly recommend!
He was very nice and easy to get along with but often times class was pointless because it took so long to get started or he went off on a tangent. You use the book he writes so some tests are more difficult than others but he gives you a second choice on all test but the final which is really nice. Never posts grades though
Ken is an AMAZING teacher, I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs to take Psych 1100. You use the book a lot for his tests, most of the questions are straight out of the book. He does go off on tangents sometimes, but he is nonetheless a wonderful teacher. He's a very caring person and loves to help everyone succeed :)
Very laid back, deadlines are more of a guideline, tests often have time for book use or class discussion. great class to invoke thought.
Coolest guy alive. He relates all material to your life. All u gotta do is read a chapter a week, and if u don't just write a summary to get the points back. Class helps you grow as a person. Extremely recommend
I found him to be a reasonable professor whose classes were almost never dull. His course was definitely not a blowoff, but he was one of my few COD professors who didn't assign a bunch of ridiculously in-depth projects that didn't belong in an "overview" course. Highly recommended.
He is the nicest and sweetest person ever. you will not regret taking his class. he actually makes everything clear,is funny at times.Give a lot of examples and at times acts like one of us. Understands a college students life.As long as you are involved in class and make the effort in attending his class is an important step.he loves what he does
Amazing very helpful understanding person.Loves teaching.not hard at all. there is always a solution to help you pass his class.wants you to suceed.funny guy.highly recommend HIM. ORDER BOOK BEFORE HAND IT TAKES A WHILE TO COME IN> Highy recommend him. I wish all professors were like him.
Great professor. Not hard at all. He's not one to over load you with crazy assign.Coolest ever.Material is based on life examples.Learned alot.class is never bored.Love this professor.I highly recommend him.Is easy to work with him if he understands your serious about his class. You can tell he loves his students. Love this professor.
hes a cool guy but hes a bad teacher. really easy class but boring as heck. does not teach, goes off on tangents, too many personal examples. everything you need to know is in the book but a lot of its common sense
Class is very informal. If you do the very low amount of work, and do well on his easy tests you'll get a A no problem. He accepts late work up to the day before the final, and is extremely helpful, understanding, and forgiving. Favorite professor by far.
Took this class in a 8th week session and tough it was very fast and had to do alot. i reccomend 16 week if possible and he has 4 projests very easy grading and pretty much reading the book wasnt so hard i didnt read much and got Bs in all my test. a very knowlegable class. All common sence. proffesor very helpful, take him!
Professor Gray is great!! Very knowledgeable about this topic. He understands his students and lives outside of the school setting. A lot of examples from his family. You use the book that he wrote. If you love psychology TAKE HIM.
He's a really cool guy. Class is really interesting if people participate. He wrote the text book. Doesn't stick to deadlines. Class is pretty easy to pass with minimal effort.
I took his honors and found it very easy. He is a really nice and laid back guy. You don't really learn much in his class. However, if you need a class to pull up your gpa, this is the one.
He is a very understanding teacher. He's always willing to help you outside class time if needed. Make sure you do the readings, although with the buzzer quizzes he usually allows you to collaborate. Tests are difficult, but he allows you to second guess your answers for partial credit. I would definitely recommend him especially to get geneds done
Ken was amazing! Quizzes on blackboard were easy and book based. Need I say more? Take his class you won't regret it.
Im in his class now. great teacher overall. alot of quizes but you can take them as much as you want. his book is very easy to understand. replies quickly to emails. take him!
supplies you with a iclicker to take attendance each class. Lots of blackboard quizzes, easy book based. They aren't timed and you can attempt them as many times as you want. Tests are hard!!!! Very good teacher very nice and funny guy. He loves psychology and wrote the textbook he uses for class!
Ken Gray is an amazing teacher, soft spoken and genuine, and his class was my favorite. All the reading quizzes are online and you can take them repeatedly until you get a good grade (open book). He gives you two scantrons for tests in case you're unsure of your first answer. He's lenient with projects and grades based on effort. love him!
Ken is a really nice and helpful guy. Deadlines are really more of a guideline because he understands that our lives don't revolve around his class (even so, you should stick pretty close to them, especially the project/paper ones). His stories are great and relevant to everyday life, sometimes the topics are a bit depressing, but there is candy!
Fantastic teacher! As long as you complete the projects & quizzes, you are sure to get an A. He is clearly devoted to psychology and loves what he teaches. He is extremely helpful. 4 major projects actually apply to real life. I would definitely recommend Prof Gray for any class.
If at all possible, take Professory Gray! He's funny, helpful, and truly cares about his field. The work assigned is not difficult, but rather it is actually useful and will encourage you to retain the information you are learning. I have absolutely no complaints about professor Gray and would take his class again in a heart beat!
Ken Gray is an amazing teacher! He is really easy if you do his online quizzes. He really doesn't teach in class so tests are really hard and so is the final. There are four main projects. The only annoying part was that he didn't really teach anything so I feel that I didn't really learn. Always went off topic and nothing related to the material.
Ken is a nice enough guy but he doesn't really teach so much as ramble. If you do the bare minimum you will pass.
He is very laid back and is not big on due dates. However if you are a procrastinator this is not the class for you because all the work will be pilled up at the end. If you have a busy schedule then I recommend this professor because you can work on your own time. Overall the class was okay. He wrote the book we used but it has very long chapters
Overall, his class was easy and interesting. His textbook is great. My complaint is that he spends more time telling you what you are about to do and how long it will take and why, instead of just getting to the point and explaining concepts. Most of the time you have to teach yourself from the textbook because he doesn't lecture in class.
He was a really good teacher, the material was hard but as long as you put in the hard work you can pass. The class itself was very interesting and he made learning the material enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this course. As with most honors courses, it has very little busy work, and is mostly based on projects done throughout the semester. If you really want to get an A in this class you will get an A. As long as you put in the effort, it is a relatively easy class to do well in.
He was a great professor! He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. Class was a little hard but if you do your work you will be fine. Quizzes on BB were easy. I really enjoy his class.
Class is laid back, lectures informative. Makes himself available to students needing help on his own time. Very fair and open to all ideas, conceals his own beliefs objectively. You won't learn just psych, you'll almost certainly leave with some wisdom. Gray is a gem among COD faculty: there's a good reason he's earned awards for his teaching.
Great guy, funny and cares about you, if you do the HW and Study a little you will for sure get an A, oOO BOOK IS FREEE
Great Teacher. And free textbook.
Very genuine teacher that cares about his students. He's not a harsh grader but you must read a textbook online in order to pass his quizzes, exams, assignments, and understand his lectures. Textbook is free online so you don't need to buy one. Makes the lectures interesting and funny guy. A bit overwhelming class if you're a busy person.
Ken really cares about his students and ttys to relate to them more to get a better understanding so you can do your best in his class. He is a great guy who genuinely cares and will do anything to see you succeed.
This was the Honors class. Didn't feel like a class. Very laid back. Online book, which I skimmed for the Reading Responses (and got 100% every time). Tests were hard but online and you could retake. Most of the semester was about teaching the class. I didn't learn a TON about Psychology--some things stuck--but learned a lot about being a student.
Great teacher, here's your hot pepper Mr. Gray!
The honors section was a very easy class. If you want an easy A, take him. If you're interested in psych at all, don't take him. He came to class high all the time. It was ridiculous. He does not lecture. Almost every single class is just a group doing a presentation. It was miserable to sit through a semester of this.
Professor Gray was such an awesome teacher and he really cared about what you learned in his class. The assignments are not hard at all of you pay attention and he is very laid back when it comes to due dates. I really recommend him!
All I can say is, if you care about your time and money, do not take him. If you are one of the students who actually wants to take something away from this class, this isnt for you. And if you are someone who just wants an A, take him then. the beginning of semester he will be slow and easy, but the end of the semester gets long and hard to do.
He's really nice and tells interesting stories. He's great at involving his students in the lessons he teaches. There's a lot of online work and an online book, so I'd suggest not taking this class if you're not often on the internet. I loved this class and actually learned a lot!
Well, what can I say about Professor Gray? He made Psychology very easy and his instructions were clear. You don't have to purchase the book because it's online, so you save yourself $200. Ay, not bad! He's very calm and is willing to give extra credit. Taking a class with him was a breeze & I wish he taught other courses besides psych :(
I loved having him as a professor. I wish I could take more classes with. He made us introduce ourselves to the people around us, and I ended up making the greatest friends. He does a lot through blackboard, which I liked. Not many group activities, but when we did, it was fun. I would definitely suggest this class to everyone taking Psych!
Great professor! He has a Ph.D. in Psychology so he knows what he is talking about. Gives you assignments to do with lenient deadlines but if you don't keep up with it then you will fall behind and possibly fail. He gives more than enough chances with extra credit however. Overall I wish I could take more classes with him, also he's a funny dude.
He is an amazing, helpful teacher! Not only does he literally tell you what you need to do in order to pass, but he also helps you out for other classes as well (stress-relieving techniques, time-management techniques, etc). Super lenient on deadlines, just turn stuff in, by the exam date. Always willing to help, come to class, he's great teacher.
Great teacher! Accepts all late work and gives TONS of extra credit at the end of the semester. Super personable and funny. Very knowledgable, one of my favorite professors at COD. I wish he taught more psychology classes
I took this class for a pre-req for a business school, so I have no interest in psychology. First of all, if you are serious about psychology and actually want to learn something, I would not take this teacher. If you're like me and just taking it to get it out of the way, Professor Gray is the teacher for you.
I failed my AP Psychology class in high school and I feared I would do the same in college. Psychology is NOT EASY but Professor Gray helps you understand it. It's very clear that he loves his job and his students. Would take him again if I could.
No book, he gives you a link for a free one online! He gives practice quizzes on BB that you can take 3 times and taking best score, reading is easy, and test questions are the same from quizzes. He will post the practice quizzes TAKE THEM ALOT BEFORE THE TEST AND FINAL.. if you do you will get an A!! Do the projects and you will be just fine.
Great professor! He genuinely cares and wants you to take something good from his class. Tells interesting stories that relate to class and he has a laid back demeanor . Tests were a bit tough but he gives you many opportunities to take "practice" quizzes and tests. Very inspirational man. Wish he taught other classes. Also, book is free online!
Awesome guy, awesome teacher. Genuinely cares about you. Very laid back teaching style, and really gets you involved with the material. Puts things into real life perspective and gives amazing advice. Overall, an amazing class where I left with relevant knowledge. Its not easy, but its worthwhile. Free textbook, too! TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!
Great teacher! He is really fun and not very strict about turn in dates
As a student who has a finance degree but decided to switch to psych after several years working in finance, meeting Dr. Gray was the best thing that ever happened to me. If you don't actively participate/engage in the class, you likely won't get much out of his class but if you are truly interested in psych, taking his psych1180 is a must at COD.
Awesome guy!!! Hes always there to help you if you have any questions, gives real life examples on almost all his lectures, super laid back. His exams have a lot of the online quiz material in there, so make sure to read!!!! :) Very independent class so you get the grade you work for. Also he gives a link to FREE textbook so dont buy it before:)
Ken Gray is a superb, unorthodox, and entertaining professor. Ken is most likely overqualified as a community college professor. Due to this, you will see a new trait that is often seen in higher-level professors, the scholarly ego. Overall, I highly reccomend.
INCREDIBLE TEACHER! wow one of the most inspirational teachers. Always striving for greatness, High quality education, truly cares about student's achievement and motivates and encourages us to be the best we can possibly be in every aspect. PS. Also a great runner!:)
It is a very self-learn type of class. You will go through lectures but the work falls on you, you must study, you must do the homework, and you must do the readings. Slack off and that will be your grade. He is understanding and easy to talk to.
Awesome teacher! He really cared about the students and was easy to reach. To receive a good grade, you have to do a moderate amount of work but he was very flexible if you missed the due date or needed more time.
Ken Gray is awesome. He ties in a lot of every day issues with his assignments. He makes everything on Blackboard very accessible & easy to understand, and I really liked how the assignments were set up. He offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit, and he overall really cares about the grades of his students. I would definitely take him again
I learned the most in this class than all my college classes in two years together. Best teacher to learn ANYTHING from. He gives lots of homework but it makes the exams easy. quizzes are super easy credit. If you take notes ask for any help when needed you cannot get anything lower than a B. difficult exams, easy homework, some small easy projects
I could write a whole novel on how great this teacher is, but long story short he is a logical and practical teacher who really cares about students. Loves to highlight strengths when he sees it. You'll take a lot away from this class and succeed if you keep up, which is pretty easy. Also, free online textbook is a great plus!
Mr. Gray is a great guy but not the best teacher... For this being my first and only psych class I really wanted to learn more. This class is very self-taught and the book kind of sucks (but its free). He doesn't really lecture in class and his exams can be hard if you do not do/understand the reading or complete all of the practice quizzes.
Ken makes you work for your grade, his tests are hard, there are a bunch of homework assignments including a group project, 84 self references, quizzes and short projects. Quiz answers are on quizlet if you type in noba quiz 1. This class will drain you because all he talks about is crossfit and himself. I barely got an A, take someone else.
Ken is the best professor i've had at COD so far. You can really tell he cares about his students and loves his job. I wish he lectured more, because when he does lecture they are so interesting and you learn so much. Theres a fair amount of reading but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed in his class. Definitely recommend taking him!
Ken is a great man but sometimes rambles during lectures, the book is free and online. Tests are exact replicas of the online quizzes which is a plus. Do not take if you can't read chapters and understand them by yourself.
Ken is a great professor and such a nice person. He is very positive and helpful as well. One of the best teachers I've had!
Professor Ken Gray was probably the best teacher I've had my whole school career. He was very caring and funny. Beware! He goes off on what you think are unimportant streams of thought, but they always have a purpose. Listen carefully! Absolutely no lectures!! He does awesome class discussions. 10/10 would take again
Ken is a great and a warm hearted professor. He truly cares about all of his students with a passion. He grades VERY easy and is very kind and understanding. He does get off of topic REALLY easily and you wont really learn any psychology in his class. Lectures get really boring but its an easy A.
Ken was awesome! He doesn't believe in buying textbooks so he provides a FREE one. You take weekly quizzes on material but can take them as many times as you want, and most questions on the (3) tests are exactly the ones from the quizzes. Makes psychology fun, and definitely cares about his students. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!
Laid back in class and with hmwk and deadlines. Had some great lectures and learned some valuable stuff in his class, but he also does tend to get off topic and drag on. Very understanding and genuine as a person and teacher. Lots of reading and quizzes, but it was an honors class. Just try to keep up with all the Noba stuff! A group pres, 3 tests.
Ken is such a great and respectable professor. A lot of kids that take psychology dont love the fact they are there, theyre just taking it becasue so you have to give him credit for teaching to the 50% of kids who do care. The book is free and he taught so,e valuable life lessons that helped me improve as a student. Good introductory psych class!
Prof Gray is probably my favorite professor at COD. He has a free textbook, 3 exams (which your grade is pretty dependant on) and a couple of projects. His projects are pretty low key. There is a lot of reading and blackboard quizzes. You have 5 chances to get 100% so not hard! Self-referecnes are time consuming but do them as you read the modules
Ken has by far been one of my favorite people I've come across in life. He is very kind and inspirational. He made the class enjoyable. One of the most respected people and really wants everyone to do well. Materials covered helps in future success in life and other classes. There's lots of work but he is a fairly easy grader. Would 100% take again
as a person he is a nice guy ,but get ready for alot of reading 3-5 madual per week , home quize every week some times 2 quizes , no lecture ,most of classe lectures out of the curiculum, every 2 week you have a self refrence from what you read .group project . not helpful !!! i was looking for psychology class to use it in my real life.
He is such a nice guy. If you like a liberal who drops sarcastic remarks about Republicans and the president with no regaurds to the fact we all have different opinions. Hes very work heavy and wants you to focus on his class only and claims his heavy work load is in the interest of learning, but then has weak lectures. Theres to much to selflearn
Self-taught is the only word I can say. He never taught the class and Im very upset. He never gave us a study guide. They were too many quizzes, self references and projects. One group project at the end of the semester. Do not take him if you like learning by yourself.
A lot of work to do but, easy grader. its easy if you do your work. definitely recommend. 16 online quizez. 6 self reference examples ( from the book you have to write your real like examples) 3 test with 50 multiple choice and 2 short answers. 3 short projects too.
You basically teach yourself. Quizzes on each textbook module with reading responses. 3 short projects, lead the class, and research project. He didn't really teach anything related to the textbook. Do the reading and quizzes and you'll be fine. Probably talked more about politics than actually teaching.
He really is super nice and tries to connect to his students. He does get a little lost in lecture and drones on about some other little thing the entire time. There are 3 big group projects that count for a lot. Overall, easiest class I have ever taken. He has at home online quizzes and if you know the quizzes, you'll ace the midterm and final.
Ken makes this class super enjoyable and I looked forward to going. He does a good job at covering the difficult stuff in class and tries to make it make sense. If you use his studying tips then you should pass no problem. Also, the text book is free so that's a plus. He really does care about his students and making sure they succeed.
Gray was my first teacher at COD and Im happy to say hes one of the best Ive had. His lectures arent content based but he covers the important topics. Your grade is heavily based on the 3 exams. Self ref, noba quizzes and the 3-4 projects are easy As. Excepts late work. If you arent ready for an exam, he lets you take it at another date.
Hard work, but absolutely my favorite class ive ever taken. Prof. Gray taught me so many incredible learning skills that will help me for the rest of my college experience. The work is mostly online quizzes, exams, a couple projects, and a group presentation. Lenient when it comes to late work, as long as you have a good reason. Highly recommend!
do the work and you'll pass. super chill class.
lots of easy coursework. very easy to get an A+ i got over 100%. Ken is funny, and great at speaking to the class. HE really cares about every student and will give them every chance to succeed in his class. He focuses on using Psychology to teach learning, memory, and study skills that can be applied to life and college.
As long as you know what you're getting into, take his class. The very first day, he will tell you everything you need to know to pass, and you need to take that seriously. This is a work heavy class, but Ken is a really great professor to be around. He knows what he's doing, and he knows what he's teaching. Make sure to participate and listen.
I am so glad I chose this man to be my professor for this psychology class. He is genuine and actually cares about his students and delivers material in a way that is not boring at all. He is just an all around good person and relatable. Regarding the class, he is great at it and makes sure the material is easy to understand. Love this guy!
Possibly the best teacher I have ever had in my entire life. If you are willing to do your part as a student, then you will do great.
The best and most capable professor I have ever had. Lenient but firm, kind but not condescending, brilliant but not patronizing. The workload kept me busy but was not overwhelming. Ken is the kind of professor you want to keep in contact with for decades. He changes lives.
Kenneth Gray was honestly one of the most easy going and best professors I have ever had. Yes the course is homework heavy and lots of reading is required, but do the work and youll get a good grade. He accepts late work and understands his students have lives outside of the class. He made the class very fun and interesting.
Good teacher, makes the class fun and easy to understand.
Taking this class amongst the pandemic probably made it a lot harder. There are no lectures, all of it was pretty much on your own and there was a ton of reading. Very thoughtful and understanding professor.
Gray is such a fun teacher to have. There are quite a few recorded lectures in this class and you'll basically have to read the whole book to understand concepts and do hw but it's not that bad. He wrote the book himself but he's very humble about it and it's free to every person that wants to use it. If you have the chance, take his class!
Im finishing up my psych 101 class with him. Hes got a great way of guiding the class online through checklists. He pushes students past their comfort zones to connect with others in the class through group projects. The lectures have left me laughing a few times. Hes overall an awesome teacher, take his class!!!
Prof Ken is not like other Psych professors that I've had before. He is really organized with his lectures and really makes you think about the material so it sticks with you for a long time. He has different methods to help you remember the material and you work with group members to get most assignments done. A very great and approachable guy.
He is a very nice professor who is always there to answer questions. I found the layout of my PSYCH1180 to be a bit confusing and odd, but overall Ken is a great guy and a good caring professor.
Dr. Gray is extremely flexible and understanding. He gives a one week grace period to turn in most assignments late for full credit. He creates weekly checklists suggesting when to start and finish each assignment. The textbook is also free and tests were untimed. I learned a lot of valuable information in this class. I definitely recommend him.
Professor Gray is an amazing professor! He is very thoughtful when it comes to his students lives. There is a one week grace period which was super helpful when I was overwhelmed. He makes the projects fun, and the discussions are actually thought provoking. I was super excited about psychology, and he did not disappoint! I suggest this professor!!
This guy talks about himself A LOT. Understandably, he needs reference points but gosh I've never heard a teacher talk about themselves quite so much. His online lectures have VERY little content outside of the Ken Gray story; feels like a waste of my time and the money I paid for the course. He is an easy grader and lenient with due dates.
When I started my summer course in psychology 1100 I did not have a clue as to what I would be facing class wise or professor wise. Mr Gray made it very relaxing, explained everything in detail, & answers messages. He is an amazing professor and I would definitely recommend anyone who is taking psychology in the future to sign up with him! Thx u.
Professor Gray is the BEST professor I've ever had. He is clearly passionate about psychology and gave awesome lectures that made you really understand the material. There is a LOT of reading, unfortunately, but his class is thought provoking and fun. All discussions were a blast to write about, and he is very understanding! TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!
he's very passionate about the subject he's teaching and would give a helping hand if you're in need. the class is a little tough if you're lazy to read but come to class and make sure you listen to his lectures and i'm sure you'll start reading because he makes it very fun and interesting. great subject and professor, take him before you leave COD
I learned SO much from Professor Grays Psychology course, I would recommend it to anyone! Weekly recorded lectures(if taking the online course), weekly quizzes, weekly discussion board that is mandatory AND fun, group projects, excellent textbook learning, extra credit opportunities! Really an outstanding Professor and course! Recommended!
His honors class is well structured and capable for anyone to complete successfully. Ken is great at responding quickly to questions pertaining to content and the class and referencing the textbook will help succeed the quizzes and exams.
This man is the professor you want to teach you about how to conduct a research study. he is understanding helpful and kind.
Good teacher, but working online was a stressful amount of work, overwhelming even with how it's spaced out over a week.
The best professor I had! Great style of teaching, funny, caring and not much homework. He helps with everything and is very understanding. Would take his class again!
As a Psychology pathway transfer major, I love Professor KG! I was thrown off by his laid-back first intro lecture bc I am someone who gets very anxious at the start of classes. KG actually gives you a genuine introduction to who is as a person and makes you feel like you can get to know him in an online course. Favorite professor, would take more
Dr. Gray is a wonderful man and teacher. He made me feel very special and listened to both as a student and as a person. As someone who never intends on studying psychology further, I still found his course very engaging and I looked forward to seeing him every Monday and Wednesday. A lot of the stuff he teaches actually applies to real life.
I recomend taking this class even if youre not a strong student. Its very easy. There are 3 tests total, all of them take home and open book. There are also weekly quizzes, but they are open book and you can take them as many times until you get a 100. There are also 2 group projects and they are easy. All classes are lectures, they r interesting.
Professor Gray is funny, kind and understanding. He has a life story for every lecture, he keeps it fun and engaging. The textbook is online and it is free. Do all of the homework, ask questions if needed, and you will get an A. I highly recommend this professor!! :)
One of the best Professors I have ever had! He is empathetic with students and flexible outside and inside the classroom. Her lectures are marvelous. He always teaches concepts with real stories and self-references, which makes the class even easier! I highly recommend taking him if your goal is to learn new concepts and apply them to your life.
Professor Gray was amazing. His lectures were entertaining as he talked a lot about his amazing life experiences (won't spoil). He's forgiving on late work and does two online, open-note exams. While he might seem carefree, you actually learn a lot as his passion for psychology shows. He also created his own textbook, which he provides for free!
Don't let my grade fool you. I put myself into an awful spot, and he gave me every tool I needed to pull myself out. He's a very communicative and clear professor who you can tell has a deep knowledge of the course material. One of the best profs I've had!
One of the best teachers I've ever had!! Prof. Gray is amazing. Fun and engaging lectures; he has a wealth of really interesting personal anecdotes to tell. Super knowledge. Lots of hw, but it's not difficult stuff, he's very generous with grading, & has a super forgiving late policy. His teaching prepares you for life, not just for exams.
Very knowledgable and kind, cares a lot for his students. Lot's of homework but not anything challenging. Exams are hard but he gives a lot of time to complete them. Very passionate about psychology and wants you to succeed
Professor Gray is a very caring and respectful guy, he's understanding of everyones situations. There is a lot of homework but if you do it and at least try you should be good in the course.
Dr. Gray is all around a great teacher. He does assign chapter summaries every week and there are group projects throughout the semester, but he's very approachable and willing to work through any questions you may have.
Prof. Gray wrote the textbook himself with other members of the psychology department, and it is a lot of reading but not hard to read material. It's fun and relatable in a lot of ways. Quizzes every week, mid-term and final exam have multiple choice and short answer questions. Great professor and would definitely recommend him!!
overall this course is very easy and well structured. There is alot of wokr an assignments but none are hard. he allows multiple attempts for quizzes, easy discution boards, and gives you the text book he wrote. The work is easy but you have to keep up to make sure you get all your points. He also provides extra credit at the end.
Very good professor, he explains everything clearly in his video lectures. Not homework-heavy, although you will have to read the whole textbook. About 3 assignments with a group. Short quizzes every week abt 20 questions, also a discussion board every week as well. He is very lenient with late work and lets you retake quizzes unlimited times.
All around awesome teacher and super fun guy. Material was pretty difficult, especially if you're not into the subject. There is a LOT of reading, and a fair amount of quizzes and projects but still doable. He wrote the textbook so be careful cheating haha. Been teaching for 20+ years and it shows. His lectures were the most enjoyable part of class
He was a great professor and his lectures were always very detailed. He was always very kind and took his job seriously. There is a lot of reading but if you read the material the quizzes aren't bad. He is very flexible with grading as well. As long as you are responsible with this class it shouldn't be to difficult.
Professor Gray is a great professor overall. This class is reading-heavy, but you are not heavily tested on the material. A large group project, a research paper, and the final make up the bulk of your grade. There is weekly homework to do, which you are informed of well before the due date. Lectures are great, go to them! Easy to pass.
Dr. Gray really loves his profession and cares about it enough to teach it. You have a lot of reading to do; if you fall behind, then good luck. The class was not hard, and the assignments were okay.
Prof. Gray is a good guy, very knowledgeable about what he teaches, but sometimes during the lectures can get off topic and sometimes it feels like the lectures and test material are not very connected. It is not a very difficult class though. He is very caring and is able to be flexible with absences and missing work.
Very knowledgable professor, he is very inspiring. His textbook is free and has a lot of information. You will pass the class if you genuinely want to learn basic psychology and put the work in. One of the nicest professors here at COD.
Great professor!!! If ur going to take Psych take his class. If you pay attention and do the work it goes really smoothly. His lectures are always really good, ties a lot of real-life scenarios to the topics we discuss.
Take him! Professor Gray really cares about his students and wants them to learn and succeed. I took his class online and he makes sure you not only get good grades, but actually learn. I got an A, regardless of my busy sched. He gives plenty of extra cred and a quiz for every chapter, which is very easy to get full points for. Highly recommended!
Prof. Gray's class has a lot of reading but he makes the material engaging. The lectures and assignments are well-connected. While the class isn't too difficult, staying on top of the work is key. I found unstuck study helpful for study prep.
He is a really good teacher. He does not care about tests, so he makes his tests online and not timed. Overall, his lectures are amazing and have inspired me at some degree.
Professor Gray is great and you should definitely take him!
Mr. Gray was awesome, his class is very easy you can pass as long as you do the work!
Mr. Gray is awesome, as long as you do the work you'll pass!
Prof. Gray was a really easy teacher his lectures were just kind of boring, he's super monotone. The majority of the time you just talk to the people around you which was nice. He accepts all late work up until the end of the semester and every final is online. Overall, he's chill and super lenient.
Extremely knowledgeable and likeable dude. He wrote the textbook for the course and it contains tons of super relevant and interesting information. I found myself reading it out of interest in the subject matter, such as how to live a healthier life and how to study better. Classwork was very easy, but I actually learned a retained a lot.
He is a very knowledgeable person that helped relate psychology to our own lives a lot.He is very lenient with due dates and all the tests are online so it takes away the stress. I felt like a learned a lot on this class.
Nice guy with interesting lectures. Classes were fun.
Loves to talk about himself, and somehow makes it about psychology.
You can tell Professor Gray actually put effort into the class, especially for being online. Interesting lecture videos, and I actually enjoyed the discussion boards. Lots of reading! Just show effort and keep up with the work.
Honestly, he's a great guy lectures can get a bit boring but he's very acceptable about late work and will give you full credit for it! I went from a D to a B+ within a week.
He's a wonderful professor who cares more about your success at COD than grades. His lectures and projects were created solely to improve your life. Though he does like talking about himself, his stories are interesting & relate back to lectures. Plus, the material is neatly organized, and he grades leniently, so long as you do your part in class.
Easy class. Just do the work and you'll get an A. There are group activities in class so show up. He grades easy, although lectures are boring. Overall good teacher and explains things clearly.
Lenient grading and late work policy. Good recorded lectures. A good amount of assignments, but they're all pretty straightforward.
