Mr. Grubb is a tremendous teacher! He is lectures are so interesting and helpful. I thought I would never care to learn history until Mr. Grubb started teaching it. If you need help with anything, he is always there to help. I am so glad he was my professor. He is also a very sweet and funny dude!
Best. Teacher. Ever.
Mr. Grubb is the best teacher I have ever had. Genuinely cares about his students and what he is teaching. TAKE HIM....NOW.
Awesome prof. Every lecture is on point. It is not hard to pass this class at all. He is very helpful. Def reccommend him!
I HATED history before taking Grubb's class. Since then i have switched my major to history.
Strongly recommend him. I cannot think of any negative aspects.
AWESOME! Enough to describe him. I am taking him for 1302 in mini-semester and I am sure I will get an A again. He calls himself a history lover and its believable. He makes you fall in love with the subject too.
Best teacher ever! Passionate about what he teaches and his lectures are thorough! Never liked history much, but now i love it. Good job, Grubb!
He's so passionate about History!Best teacher ever.
Great teacher to take online. He made it interesting w/videos to watch to give you a visual of the upcoming chapter assignments.
He is such a smart and interesting teacher. This class was exciting and I learned so much.
This guy is great. He has a passion for history and it shows. His lectures are engaging and interesting. If you want to actually learn the history take his class.
Super easy, did the 8 week semester. Lots of writing assignments so if you don't like to write perhaps find another teacher. Very passionate and quiz/test questions come from reading material. Museum assignment questionnaire also easy.
Really great teacher and a pretty cool guy. A LOT of writing assignments, about 6-8 pages per test (4 multiple choice tests) but writing assignments were take home and there was no term paper. He has a lot of passion for what he does so it makes class interesting but you will still need to put in effort, attend class and take a lot of notes!!!
He is an AMAZING teacher! You can really tell he loves history. A lot of writing assignments so don't procrastinate. Coming to class is really important and take good notes. Textbook is not needed. Overall a great teacher and I totally recommend him. Easy A if you do the work.
Mr. Grubb is so passionate about History! His lectures were so interesting, I never knew so much about history before taking this class. He does a lot of writing assignments that aren't very hard. I made a C due to not doing a project that I knew was important. He's very helpful as well! Overall great instructor. No book needed if you listen well.
He is a really Amazing teacher ! His tests can be tricky and 10 % of the test is based off the textbook. However its not mandatory to read it. He does do daily grades and tells you before he does them most of the time.
He is hands down one of my best professors since I began college. I was never great with history but his teaching style and passion made me fall in love. He is very understanding and is ALWAYS willing to stay a little while to help and do whatever he can to figure out your problem. took him for 1301 and 1302 and made A's both times. he is AMAZING!
He is awesome. I dreaded taking History but once I took his class I began looking forward to attending his class everyday. He explains things in a way that makes you understand. As long as you attend class everyday and take notes you'll do great on the tests!
Highly recommend taking him. He is an amazing professor. Had outlines for us to use to take notes with on our Laptops and gives review terms a week before each test. He really enjoys what he does and knows what he's talking about. I always looked forward to going
I took his class as a senior in high school and I he made me enjoy history. He is passionate about what he does and it shows. As long as you do the essays and study you can make an A. Need the textbook for essays, but his lecture outlines are online. Great class! I highly recommend him!
You won't find a better teacher than him. I was a foreign exchange student and took his class as a summer course. I'd have to say not knowing much about the US history I was hoping just to get a passing grade, but he made it very interesting! I passed with an A+, if I can do it, you surely can.
You would be foolish not to have taken him as a history teacher. He's the best in the department, and he's stories are fascinating.
i hated history before his class, i failed the first time with another professor. 1301 i got an A, 1302 i got a B. in 1302, he gives us a research paper, HAND IT IN TO BE REVIEWED! i did and recieved a 100% take good notes, follow study guides, book is not necessary, and his lectures are very entertaining. best professor i have ever had.
Very interesting lectures. I enjoyed his class thoroughly. Class is pretty easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention.
Very passionate about history, makes everything understandable, and very helpful. There is no extra credit. The tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class and do the test review. Attendance not mandatory but he looks at that if you need to be bumped up. Very easy class, the essays are tough but very do-able. Grades quickly. I recommend!
Took him for a 5 week summer class, he's awesome. You have to pay attention to his lectures and study the reviews he provides but that isn't hard. He's really passionate about history, which I think makes a great environment for learning. He also gives bonuses on every test except on the final. Got an A!
Although attendance is expected, his lectures are so awesome and hold you're attention that those 50 minutes just fly by. Took him for both 1301 and 1302. The best, made A's on all test. Book not really needed because his testing material comes straight from his lectures. And he really cares about his students, both past and present.
Best teacher I've ever had in my entire life. Even though he's a grown man, he acts like a friend, which makes his lectures very interesting since he talks to you like one of your really cool buddies, which makes you understand everything! As long as you listen to him carefully, the tests are okay. He is very understandle as well. Must take him!!
Very cool guy. Excellent lectures. Grades consist of tests and writing assignments. Writing assignments require critical thinking skills but other than that, aren't very difficult. Takes late assignments. Gives very helpful reviews before each test. Class is doable without buying the textbook. Will bump up your grade if you attend every class.
Mr Grubb is awesome at teaching History! Even if you don't like history he makes the class run smoothly and you'll understand. He is very nice and helpful, open to helping his students. You can tell he loves history and specifically Military History. I highly recommend his class, his class fills up fast so get your spot early.
When I took Grubb for 1302, I never listened in class & I always just read the book. I studied hard on all the tests, but I never made above a C. I took him again for 1301 & this time I actually listened in class and typed everything he said. I made As on all the tests. All you have to do is listen & you'll make an A. Very easy papers. He's amazing
Best professor I have ever taken! Mr. Grubb made the lectures so interesting. He was very clear and made sure that everyone understood the topic. You can definitely tell that he loves History! I went in not having any sort of interest for History but that changed! I learned a lot. Be ready for the essays!!
He's awesome!!! Loved going to his class!
professor Grubb is really the main reason why i potponed transfering to a university. he is honestly the best professor i took at wharton. if his class is open i highly recomend to take him. revie the terms and youll get an A on the test. also follow his directions on paper assignemnts. if you do those things you WILL get an A
There was no rating on Grubb before so my friend and I took a chance and I have no regrets. Excellent professor! Gets really into his lecture and provides outlines so you can take down important notes. I'm sure to be in his 1302 class!
Professor Grubb gave lots of energy into his lectures which was really great in an 8 am class. His lectures were very interesting and engaging. We only had 2 writing assignments where he gave us the sources to use & they weren't difficult to understand at all. You don't need the book, the tests have all the questions from his class notes.
He is awesome!! I'd take his class again. He made history interesting for me, and I honestly don't like the subject. PICK HIS CLASS BEFORE ITS TOO LATE BECAUSE YOU'LL REGRET IT!
I have never enjoyed a class so much. He is a really amazing guy! teaches what you need to know and makes you understand it! it was easy as long as you listened. You don't need a book because everything you need he talks about and his lectures are very interesting and easy to keep up with. I ABSOLUTELY loved his class!
His class is so much fun ! He really loves the subject and it is evident in his teaching style. He is easily the best teacher I have ever had and I don't usually write reviews but he is just so amazing.
Truly awesome professor! Makes lectures fun and interesting. Textbook wasn't needed, he's very clear in his lectures. Make sure you take notes.
He's really really good and fun! Honestly, my favorite teacher ever. He's just really sweet and he doesn't require attendance, but I recommend you attend him just because his Powerpoints are so funny! Also, he gives extra points and never bugs you for using a phone or eating. I truly miss him and I wish every teacher was like him. Test reviews too!
I LOVE Mr. Grubb soon much! I took him for both of my History classes. He is the BEST history teacher out there. Even if you absolutely hate history, he will make you see it from a different perspective by the end of the semester. I super duper recommend him. Everyone should take Grubb at least once in their lifetime.
Hands-down the best professor at Wharton. He is very animated in his speaking and lecturing, he practically brings history to life. He keeps you engaged the whole class period. I can't wait to take his class again!
Mr. Grubb is an AMAZING professor, i definitely recommend him to anyone . History has never been my subject but right after taking his class history 1 and 2 i enjoyed it with a passion. His lessons are like a movie you really get into them. He is also someone you can go to for advice. How i wish all my professor were just like him. TAKE HIM!
Professor Grubb was an overall good lecture teacher. You have 4 test, 3 papers, and a museum review. At the end he'll give you two chances for extra credit. The test ask specifics, while his lectures are very general. A textbook won't help. He loves to talk about war. However, be ready for some vulgar comments on his part...
This teacher is amazing! His lectures are always so fascinating and entertaining. Attending class is absolutely needed to pass! He does not use the book so all the test material is from his lectures. He does give test reviews and offers so many extra credit opportunities. I highly recommend him for anyone!!
Grubb was an awesome professor. Took him for 1302 May Mini 2016 & couldn't have asked for a better class. 8am was tough for everyone (him included) but he let us out 30min-1hr early everyday & Fridays were short. Tests not hard if you pay attention & take good notes in lecture. Papers pretty straight forward. 2 EC opportunities. Highly recommend.
I came to ratemyprofessors before choosing him when I had undesired grade of "C" with Mr. Nottenbart in HIST1301 despite my hardwork. I was disappointed the way he graded writing assignments (essays). He doesn't overlook little things. He messed up my grade as I ended up having "B" while I worked for an "A"
I wish there were more professors out there like Grubb. Very enthusiastic about the subject, hilarious, and I looked forward to his class every day! Excellent, excellent, excellent professor! He's really good at reminding you of paper due dates. Do your part and really prepare for tests/assignments & the class is a piece of cake. Amazing professor!
Super easy class!! Grubb was lecture heavy but the lectures were enjoyable and he gave outlines on everything he was going to say. Very nice socially and also nice on late work! He really knew the information he was saying and I honestly remember most of it. so take his class definitely won't regret it
Professor Grubb is a very caring professor, he will advise you on what you need to do, offer help before exams, provide students with reviews for the exams, and clearly lecture on the material on the test. Grubb is very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Be aware, he does have heavy(but interesting)lectures, and a 7 paged essay.
Mr. Grubbs is so passionate about history. He makes it really interesting. He grades the research paper very strictly so you definitely have to put alot of work into it. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! I would have gotten a B in the class if I didn't do it. He also cusses quite a bit which I didn't care for. The tests are worded so they are harder answer.
M. Grubb is an awesome teacher. He has good lectures and explains things well. You will have papers to write during the semester, but he gives you the material to get the info from. You will have a book review due at the end of the semester, but that too is easy with the info he provides. If you have any questions simply ask and he will work w/ you
amazing the test r the lectures
great guy! he's hilarious and uses analogies that keep you interested in the subject. doesn't even feel like a lecture, it feels like a stand up comedy show, which is a good thing! gives a lot of extra credit, so it's nearly impossible to fail. 10/10 would take again
Prof. Grubb is an amazing teacher! He brings history to life and makes it fun! I seriously recommend him. Books aren't required, as everything in his tests are from the lectures, so don't think you can skip! He also gives extra credit a couple times during the semester, and if you have questions for him, don't hesitate to ask them!
Professor Grubb is a great teacher. I've taken him for both 1301 and 1302 and he makes a seamless transition from one to another. You can tell that he cares about the subject he teaches. He offers a few chances for extra credit through essays and he gives plenty of time to complete his assignments. I would recommend him to anyone!!
Professor Grubb is hilarious and his lectures are very interesting and he will relate topics to something current. You can tell that he loves teaching history. He gives extra credit and a participation grade. He is very nice and if you have any problems he is definitely willing to work with you.
Probably one of the best teachers I've had so far. He makes history engaging and makes you want to come back to hear what he tells you next. The book is definitely not needed for this class. His tests are from his lectures. I recommend recording his lectures if you need to. Don't slack on your paper! Get it done as early as you can and get feedback
Amazing and fun lecturer. He has a really great approach to History. He's very straight forward and has many stories to tell. He doesn't give you a thousand dates to remember. Just takes notes, study, and you'll past. Extremely kind, funny, and welcoming. A+ attitude. Favorite professor so far.
TAKE HIM!! Tests straight from lectures, always willing to help.. a few simple essays, points for attendance, opportunities for extra credit. Use the lecture outlines on blackboard and study his review terms for exams! Lectures are always entertaining, he's super passionate about the subject and makes it enjoyable every week. Fav prof of all time
Mr. Grubb is amazing; he is such a smart/kind guy! Took him for 1301 and taking him for 1302 now. He is passionate about what he does and appreciates students who do what theyre supposed to do. Listen to his lectures attentively, take copious notes, and study notes for exams. Book is not needed for this class at all. I wish he taught every subject!
Really smart and really passionate guy about what he does. You really do not need to use the textbook but you need to show up to his lectures since his tests are almost copy and pasted from the lecture. His writing assignments aren't hard just annoying. Highly recommend him it isn't a hard class at all, wish I could take him again.
Mr. Grubb is by far on of the best instructors at the sugar land campus. His lectures are amazing, as they not only made me want to go back to class, but they made me love the topic of history. He is one of the funniest teachers I have ever taken, which is nice to have because it makes the class more enjoyable and go by faster.
He's the best teacher I ever had, that's all you need to know. And btw you don't need the text book!
He is a great professor!! He is so kind and funny! Tests are hard but if you pay attention to his lectures and show up to class you will do fine! You will have to write 3 essays and those are all easy too! He grades them kinda hard but after the first one, you will understand what he expects in the essays! He will help you in any way he can!
One thing I will say about Mr. Grubb is this: He's my favorite professor by far and I will never come across another professor like him. He has taught me so much about the world I live in while maintaining a stress-free class environment. His lectures feel like story-time rather than lectures, making it a fun easy class for everyone. Brilliant guy.
My overall favorite teacher Ive had in college. If you have the chance to take him, SIGN UP! He made a boring class so interesting, that I actually enjoy history now. His lectures are detailed and info filled so note taking is a breeze. Tests are challenging but correlate with notes.
Professor Grubb is an outgoing and hilarious professor! His class is one of the few classes in which I don't feel like picking up my phone. His lectures are super fun and interesting. He helps you with your grade if you talk to him, and if you study hard and listen then you will score high.
Ive had Professor Grubb for 1301 & 1302 and I would honestly take him again if I could. He is one of the most caring and supportive professors Ive ever had. He gives amazing lectures and they are very interesting. He is super funny! Make sure to take good notes. Tests are a bit challenging but if you study notes youll do just fine. Take him!!
He was a great professor! Really clear and made History enjoyable. As long as you take good lecture notes you'll be more than okay.
Yes you had to write some papers to make up for the fact there was only 2 tests all year but they weren't hard. He taught my class off of lecture notes , but his classes were so energetic that I didn't mind taking the notes. Take this history class!!
I had professor Grubb for 1302&1302 and he was absolutely amazing! He captivates the room with his enthusiastic passion for history. Great story teller. Very clear with his assignments. Follow his outlines and take notes!
Don't question this course & instructor just because the "SKIP CLASS? YOU WON'T PASS" tag is present. It is absolutely one of the easiest classes on campus! His lectures go over every material that you will be tested on so you wouldn't exactly want to skip. Great professor whose passion is to not only teach students but to guide them as well!
This professor's lectures are amazing he gets everyone actually interested in learning about history, you can tell he loves his job and is always enthusiastic in the classroom. he has exam reviews. but waring it is hard to take notes without using his outline because his presentation slides are only pictures.
I took him last year for summer 2 and right off the bat you could tell he is very passionate about his job. It was an easy class if you study of course, I never found history interesting until his class and how enthusiastic he is about it.
By far the best lecturer I have had at WCJC. He knows how to tell the class in a lecture what really mattered during certain eras of history. All in all, if you have to take US History, do whatever it takes to get him as your professor.
Required 2 papers, discussions, 4 exams and the final. He gave the option of writing a third paper that would replace our lowest exam or paper grade. Offered extra credit. There was a lot of reading but that was probably because it was an online class. Some exams were multiple choice and others were essay questions. Overall, great professor.
grades super hard, will not bump. good luck
Professor Grubb is an amazing professor! He follows the due date list and makes the assignments straightforward. His class was pretty easy, but you do have to read every chapter. The textbook is interesting and he is usually pretty understanding if you miss an assignment.
Take this teacher for history 1301 and 1302! You won't be disappointed. You wont even realize how much you actually retain! Easy A if you show up and just listen. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Me. Grubb made this class extremely enjoyable. I looked forward to every class he mad leaning history exciting and entertaining. He gave quizzes so you must listen and read your notes. I would defend nitly register for another of his classes if I could
He is an amazing professor. I took him during the May Mini and it was a breeze. Be prepared to take notes !! Pay attention in class or you will fail! It seems like a lot of work, and it may be, but he makes the class very interesting. He also brings WWII items for you to see. He is one of the few professors who enjoying their jobs. Take him!!
He is a good professor that really cares about the subject but his test are challenging. There are 2 test, 2 papers, and a final. Paying attention and taking notes are very vital to this course.
Best history professor at wcjc. His lectures are the best he keeps you entertained the whole 50 minutes you have him for class.
The reason why I said "Yes" for textbook use coz of the two writing assignments you gotta do other than the test. lectures are awesome! but it's hard to keep track coz it's sometimes pics, but he lets you record! solid choice!
By far the best history professor at WCJC. I've taken him for both 1301 and 1302 and he is fantastic in his lectures. You do NOT need the book, but you HAVE to be in class to get every lecture. You can tell how passionate he is on what he teaches, and it reflects back on his students
He would had have a 4.0 rating here, but I am not a fan of how he does his tests!
Fave prof !!
His lectures are amazing! The best professor at WCJC. He made the subject interesting. You might only need the textbook if you use it as a source for the essays (just two essays).
I had Professor Grubb for 1301, 1302, and 2311. He is hands down an amazing teacher, and while I struggled a bit, I loved his classes and how he brings history back to life. I'm a history major, so this was important to me. While 2311 was online, he still had a way to make you see history in a new way. I absolutely recommend you taking his classes!
super easy. lots of chances for extra credit. Talks ALOT! but is really cool and interesting.
Mr. Grubb is seriously one of the best out there. His lectures are AMAZING. Only two required essays and gives multiple ones to choose from, just follow the rubric. His tests are straight from the lecture outlines. The lecture outlines are your best friend in this class so download them and use them!
Professor Grubb is the best history professor ever!! He makes the information so much more interesting- even for someone who doesnt like history (me). This is my second semester taking him & I totally recommend him for everyone else!
MUST TAKE! AWESOME!
Best professor by far! Lectures are amazing and make you want to come to class! I've never had a class that makes a 50 minutes go by so fast! Tests are over what he puts on the review and he helps you if you have ?'s. If you pay attention during the lectures and study, there is no way you will not make an A! Wish my degree required more history!
You don't need the textbook but if you want extra information for yourself, it helps. He is awesome and has amazing lectures. Definitely recommend taking him.
Great Professor! Lectures are entertaining! His lectures make the class a breeze. Just show up and you'll pass!
Mr. Grubb is an amazing professor. He is really passionate about what he teaches and is always willing to help his students. He has a 5 grade class 2 papers and 2 test then the final and offers extra credit throughout the class. I took him for both History 1301 and 1302 and passed both of his classes. Take him you won't regret it.
I took him for 1301 and 1302 and I wish I could take him again. Best professor I've ever had. Gives a lot of extra credit and class is lecture based no text book or outside reading required. 5 grades total 2 essays, 2 tests (gives reviews) and final. Attendance is NOT mandatory. Super chill, nice and funny guy
Mr. Grubb is probably the best history teacher Ive ever had.
He so sweet. I dont like his test is composed of except, Not it could get you mix up. Pay attention in class since his power point are only picture and if can record his voice it will hell a lot when it come to the reviews.
He is very nice and caring person. However his tests and essays are extremely difficult.
Literally the best professor Ive ever had. Amazing lectures that were really engaging and was sooo helpful!
4 test and 2 papers. No homework or quizzes. He is funny and a great teacher!
YES, take him! He's a very caring teacher, and offers extra credit opportunities. He isn't a super tough grader, and he's very organized and clear when it comes to grading. I was actually able to take my time and learn instead of just trying to memorize the info. He gives many outside sources to help students understand the material. Respectful too
I took him for Western Civilization II and I didn't do so good but now I am taking him for HIST1302 and it is easier than I thought it was. I take notes from powerpoints, do discussion boards, take tests and 1 year long writing assignment but it's easy.
Mr. Grubb is really passionate about his subject. He is a gem of a person. I was an international student and he really helped me embrace the subject thoroughly. He is always ready to go an extra mile for you. Always hands down for Mr. Grubb.
Great professor. Cares about his students and his lectures are actually interesting. I would definitely take him again. Just pay attention in class and do the test reviews and you should get an easy A!
He is an amazing teacher!! I made a B on all the exams and still made an A in the class!! Just do the writing assignment which you have like months to do and youll have an A in the class
I took him for summer 1. His discussions and tests were very easy. The test reviews were helpful. He answered all questions respectfully and replied to emails quickly. I would definitely take his class again
Professor Grubb is great!. I took his summer class for History 1302. You have discussion boards, one essay and 3 tests including the final exam. His lectures are interesting and I promise you won't get bored watching them. Test are detailed so make sure to study. He replies very quickly and he is extremely helpful. I definitely recommend!
Grubb is very clear in the beginning that all test questions are straight from his lectures so be ready to take good notes. even if you're failing this class you cant help but love Kenneth Grubb. he's charismatic and extremely funny. his lectures are easy to follow and entertaining.
Awesome professor. Exams are all from the class lectures. Very understanding. Follow the dead lines and the in class lectures you will pass. Will help you succeed the class.
If i could take this prof. again i would do it a million times! He's very passionate about his history which makes his lectures so interesting. he makes history fun, only prof. i've ever known to do that. his exams are based on his lectures so show up. very lenient too. textbook isn't necessary tbh. his final wasn't bad just study.
Took back in Fall 2019. Usually I hate History but this man makes it enjoyable. Lectures are from word of mouth & powerpoints, which he doesn't post online but he makes it easy to take notes. I only kinda struggled with the essay. Very nice and funny guy! You can tell he is invested in his and cares about his students.
Professor Grubb is a perfect example of what a professor should look like. He is absolutely hilarious, and very passionate about history. He is always giving extra points, and is extremely flexible.
Best professor in the world and very chill n caring guy!! love him...
The professor of a lifetime, taught me many great things about this world we live in and i always looked forward to his lecture, helped me get through my semester of college by showing me the good side of education, will forever be thankful for this man.
I have said it once and I will say it again , I LOVE THIS PROFFESOR! He is so good at lecturing you would think History is a boring class but he makes it sound like a story! He is also very understanding and works around grades. He makes sure that everyone has enough time to catch up on grades! I took him for both HIST1301/1302, TAKE HIM!!
He is the best history professor I have ever had. He makes it easier for everyone and has fun about the history. He explains so thoroughly that I dont have to even open a textbook to understand what he is explaining. He is an awesome professor that is also very understanding when people have trouble with some of the subjects. Totally get his class
Mr.Grubb is hands down a GEM for this industry. Well-spoken, easy to understand, & a funny guy. He makes the lectures into stories which was amazing for us students cause it helped us retain the information much easier. One thing I will say is that he talks A LOT...the lectures would most of the time drag out much longer causing us to have overtime
Funny guy, super interesting lectures, always leaves you wanting more next class.
His lectures are life-changing and is very influential. You will see life a little different. I do not agree with his exam questions, they are hard and tricky as his test average is 80%. You are in actuality forced to attend unless you want to fail cuz self studying doesn't work. Exam come directly from his lectures. He does not record lectures.
It might just be because it was an online course, but I couldn't remember this professor's name until I checked my schedule. The online course is not worth the effort unless you need it for your major, the material is hard and you are teaching yourself absolutely everything. He grades relatively easily but the projects take a long time to complete.
Fantastic professor, and even a more fantastic person. Thoroughly enjoyed his class. Highly recommend.
Mr. Grubb is a very respectable and likable instructor! He made U.S. History entertaining and clear to understand. I took him for 1302, but if I needed to take a history class again, I would highly recommend Mr. Grubb
he was amazing super funny and had very interesting lectures definitely take him. also im not good at history and got an A
The best professor you will ever meet! His lectures are so easy to follow and they are as if he's telling a story. Since I have taken him twice History has become my favorite subject and that says a lot! His exams are rather easy as long as you show up and take notes.
he is one of the best teachers here, take him!
This was a great and easy class! Very simple assignments that he basically gave a guided outline for, 3 discussions, and a few open book quizzes. One major project that was pretty simple and open for a while. He was super nice and caring, gave SUPER EASY extra credit opportunities. Would absolutely take him again! no book needed.
One of the best prof. at wcjc sugar land. really cares about you and will go out of his way to make sure you understand things. is really passionate about his job. he is a great storyteller and makes his lectures super fun.
Professor Grubb is one of the best professors I've ever had at WCJC. He teaches history in a way that feels like a story, making it both entertaining and humorous. He's also very supportive and willing to assist you if you're having difficulty, offering extra credit to help you improve. I highly recommend taking his class - you won't regret it!
My fav professor, kind and amazing soul. Very understanding and his lectures speak for themselves. Very knowledgable about history.
Absolutely incredible teacher - probably the best teacher I've ever had! You can tell he really cares about what he's teaching and the way he frames every lecture makes the content much more interesting to follow. Definitely recommend him!
One of the best professors I have ever had. He does not take points away for not coming to class, that said his test are based on his lectures. He is hilarious and he goes into great detail about important subjects and events. Before tests he gives open book content reviews, things-to-know vocab, and extra credit. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved taking Mr. Grubb in Fall 2023 & genuinely miss it. His lessons were super engaging and memorable, making it easy to retain the material (& that says a lot coming from someone with a short attention span lol). He's set the bar so high for my professors—none have come close, especially with his great taste in music. Ugh.
Professor Grubb is an engaging and passionate instructor who makes history come alive. His detailed lectures and fun storytelling style make the class enjoyable, even with a light workload. unstuckstudy was a great study tool alongside the free textbook.
Professor Grubb is one of the best professors I've ever had at WCJC. He makes history enjoyable with his amazing sense of humor and his willingness to assist students every step of the way. He offers plenty of extra credit opportunities to help you. He is a very laid-back and approachable professor, and I wish I could take him again.
Just took him again for 1302 and he was still amazing. His lectures does a great job of covering the material, and makes the course really fun despite it's occasionally sad contents. There are 2 writing assignments, both of which aren't crazy hard. Attendance isn't mandatory but the test are based on the lectures. Great Teacher, highly recommend.
Best teacher I've ever had in my life. So kind & funny. Teaches very well, I've never been good at history but for his class I never even had to take notes because he made it so easy to remember the lesson. Easy to get an A, as long as you listen to his lectures. (I only got a B because I slacked off a bit before a test.)
One of the best history teachers here. Class is super engaging.Lectures sound like a great podcast I would listen to in my spare time. Assignments aren't super difficult, and he's laid back on attendance. He also brings cool artifacts from the time period we talk about in lectures for us to see. Super cool guy that is passionate about what he does.
Amazing professor!
I took this class back in fall of 2024 and I enjoyed it! Mr. Grubbs is the best and he is hilarious! He has great lectures and will answer any questions you have. He gives fantastic study guides for exams and if you put in the effort in his class you will pass with the best grade! I would recommend taking him for all History classes!!
Guy is legit the best professor I've ever had. Class is super engaging and and the tests are easy as long as you pay attention to his lectures. I've never made a review before but I just had to for this man because he was that good. I highly recommend you take him.
One of my favorite professors I've had. His course is lecture heavy but it's history so that comes with the territory. He made lots of jokes and genuinely cares about his students. Despite being lecturer heavy I was still able to stay focused. Gives reviews for every test.
The goat. Such a great guy, and you can tell he truly cares for his students. He loves history and just wants you to know something more than when you came into his class. He cracks jokes and makes it simple for you to understand, and he really focuses on war specific times as that is his specialty. I'd love to take him again.
Really everything you could want in a teacher. Super nice and funny, gives extra credit opportunities multiple times. Take notes and study them, and you'll pass the tests. I've always been bad at learning history but he makes it so easy to remember. GREAT guy.
Mr. Grubb is my favriote professor ever hands down! I highly doubt I will ever have as good as a professor in my college career. Take his class, please!
best professor ever, his class is relatively easy. the historical analyses are the only thing kinda hard. super funny, you should take him over any other history professor
The first person to ever make me care about history. He has so much passion for history, and his lectures are incredible. Hands down the best professor I've ever had.
Not only a great, passionate professor, but a very caring man who cut me some slack when I was going through some hard times.
I had Mr. Grubb for Texas history online his lectures were not boring at all, but very entertaining. The midterm and final were somewhat easy, and the quizzes were simple because you are able to use your notes. Overall Mr. Grubb is a great teacher who cares deeply for his students, and makes learning fun.
Really engaging and funny lectures. He makes them really not boring with the way he talks about the topics. His historical analysis assignments were quite rough though, having to answer questions, a couple of short response, and a 300 word essay all in an hour time limit was quite strict. Be ready for that but otherwise his tests are not difficult.
