Dr. Ken is one of the best teachers I've had at FSU so far. The subjects can be tough sometimes, but he is always willing to help you understand it. He's very nice, and teaches clearly. He is very passionate about his work. I have a burning hate for chemistry, but I loved this class. Don't expect an easy A, but if you work for it, it is possible.

Great professor, would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the material and the concepts behind it. He also showed the application of most concepts which helped to make the chemistry more entertaining and less monotonous. He allowed cheat sheets on the tests and gave pretests that were pretty similar to the actual exams.

Teaches by going over powerpoints, doesn't really do the math portion of chemistry, expects you to learn how to do the math portions yourself. Lectures are interesting and he's animated and fun, but the tests are hard and he tests on things he briefly brushed over in class. Practice tests aren't similar to the test, the test is always 5x harder.

Nice guy but not a good teacher. Just reads powerpoints and expects you to know how to solve the math problems without going over it. Practice tests he posts are a waste of time because they don't resemble the test which is way harder. You never know what's going to be on the exam so you really have to know the material inside and out.

All his tests were multiple choice, if you attend all the lectures and study you can easily get an A in his class. He's a great teacher and makes class as interesting possible. He even offers a 2 minute phone break in the middle of class so you don't have to focus for 50 minutes straight. 10/10 would take his class again.

I love this man he is fantastic, but his exams do require that you study A LOT if you want to do well. Not because they are difficult but there are a lot of questions that sneak in little concepts that you might not think to learn/remember. The entire course is not math focused at all, and is entirely conceptual. Highly recommend.

Hanson teaches Chem II to develop your understanding of how molecules act in determining their properties. It's really intuitive but to do well you need to not only attend lecture but engage with the iClicker content and make lots of mistakes. Understand the recitation worksheets to the letter, make study groups, and take it seriously to get an A.

The way he structures the class w/ pre class vids, lectures, and then clicker questions makes retaining the info easier than a normal lecture. He also posts the ppt slides which makes studying easier (you DONT have to take notes). Put in effort, U get an A
