he made his class fun, it was fairly easy

I had him for lab, human disease. He is a great teacher. He gives quizzes every time there is class, but they are all rediculously easy, based on a short review sheet from the previous class. We do actual lab work instead of all talking. He is great if you are willing to put forth the effort.

Good professor . Likes to joke around. Gives you a quiz for every lab class but gives you a review sheet so as long as you study the review sheets you will do good. Also drops the 3 lowest quiz grades

A little bit of a whacko but overall a nice guy. He is a fair grader and teaches you a lot. He jokes around often but sometimes what he says is more weird rather than funny. Attendance is mandatory for his lab classes and the lab book is very necessary.

Great teacher. Gives a quiz at the beginning of every class, on the previous weeks learning. Provides a crystal clear one page study sheet for each quiz. Wish I had him for my lecture!!! Has a cool sense of humor.

Solid lab teacher. He's really into what he does; tries to make the class as interesting as he can. Easy going if you pay attention and have your lab manual. Gives a fairly easy quiz every lab the first ten minutes of class based on a handout outline of what was learned the last class. 13 quizzes in the semester, drops 3 lowest, there's your grade.

He's an ok guy. He annoyed me a bit. His labs are pretty interesting for the most part. He gives a quiz at every class, so try not to miss any and also so you can get the extra points for attendance. And definitely buy the lab book. It's used in every lab

Attendance for labs are mandatory. There is a 10 question quiz every week, multiple choice; He drops the lowest 3. If you never miss a class you get an extra 3 points. Show up with your lab book, pay somewhat attention, read the quiz review before the quiz and you're as good as golden. Best lab teacher, wish he taught lecture too.

He keeps the class interesting, having students involved with labs. He gives a quiz every week which is almost the same thing as the quiz review sheets he gives out. If you attend all classes you should be fine.

Easiest biology lab professor that you'll probably encounter in college. He's very clear about what he teaches, and clears up things misunderstood in lecture. Gives quizzes every class, but everything is summed up on his review sheets. Recommend him!

I love him. honestly the best bio teacher I have ever had He keeps your attention through the whole class, and always ends early for us. He likes me so it works, but he's a chatty cathy.

The class is very easy and straight forward. There is a quiz the first 15 minutes of each class on the material you learned the previous week. There are NO make-up quizzes. He drops the lowest 3 grades. As long as your attendance is good you get an extra 3 points on your average. Great professor keeps you interested. Highly recommend!:)

Gives a quiz every week but they are really easy just study the review sheet. He makes the class fun and makes funny jokes. If you go to every lab gives extra points for it. Highly recommend taking his class.

Amazing professor! He only teaches lab, which sucks, because he was so much better than my lecture professor. Hershkoff is one of the best professors I've ever had. He truly wants his students to succeed and do well. Great personality - cracks jokes once in a while when he sees us drifting off. Professor Hershkoff is a great professor. He makes Biology Lab interesting and you learn so much more in lab with this professor then in your actual Biology class. Hershkoff is absolutely amazing! He makes his class something that we can easily relate too and makes it easy for students to understand. He is more than a fair professor. He definitely goes over the essentials and has the best stories. More importantly, he tries to educate his students on the real world. He never fails to find useful articles.

Probably the best science teacher I've had my whole life. Very friendly and helpful. There is a quiz every week, which he gives you a review sheet for. Just be in class and arrive on time, look over the review sheets, and you'll do well in the class.

He gives out a summary sheet every week, we go through it together, do the experiments and learn a ton. There is a quiz before each lab class. So make sure to study and be there punctually.

This has to be one of the best lab professors ever. He gives a quiz every time you have a lab but its multiple choice and gives you a review sheet the week before with everything and I do mean everything that is on the quiz. One of the best professors. You have a quiz every week from the previous lab. Summary sheets are the same exact thing as the quiz so you just need to study that. Easy and caring professor. Labs are basic and kind of interesting. I would take him again.

He was awesome! My favorite lab professor. Goes over lab, gives a review sheet and then you have a quiz the next lab. (Quiz every lab) 10 minutes for 10 questions. I reviewed my notes 30 min before the quiz and got a 9-10 out of 10 on every quiz. 13 quizzes, drops the lowest 3. Lab is mandatory. He was awesome! Take his class if you can!

Definitely one of the best professor I have ever had. He is a really nice man, has a good sense of humor and easy to understand. I am not good at biology but he makes the class very easy. He does have quizzes for every class but gives a review sheet so i got 100s on all of them.

Took this professor for bio lab. Hes a really good teacher and learned a lot from him. Theres a quiz every lab day which are easy. Labs are really interesting and makes the class very fun. Learned a lot from his lab class than in the lecture.

He's probably the best BIO 120L professor to have. Your grade is based on your quizzes, he gives one every class, and he drops your 3 lowest if your there everyday. If you miss, you need to makeup the lab within a week. He's really funny and he looks after his students. Have to buy the lab manual to follow along the labs. Overall, best professor.

He is very firm but fair. Your attendance is mandatory because he gives a quiz every class and if you miss a class you miss TWO quizzes not one. Professor Hershkoff is one of the best professors Ive had at farmingdale. He gives a quiz each class for a total of 13 quizzes but drops the 3 lowest if you attend every lab. Each quiz is given a review sheet identical to the quiz the week before. Attendance is mandatory or you will do poorly in this very easy lab!

Hersh is a awesome prof, class structure is very straight forward, he lectures you do the lab the following week you take a simple quiz on it based off the lab summary sheet. he keeps plenty of humor in his lectures to keep it interesting but also teaches so you know what is going on, learned more from him then in lecture highly recommend his class

Took it virtually post covid. Would take this professor again. Clear grading criteria with what is expected of the student each week. Do your work on time you will do great. His prerecorded lectures were pretty slow never really watched it anyway. Have to buy the online lab. Only complain: he sends too many emails.

He made dissection through a laptop screen as interesting as he could. I wish I got to experience his lab classes in person. He is a funny and helpful professor that I highly recommend. We only had to watch videos and answer questions about them, no complaints.

Hes a really cool guy honestly. The only things hes really strict about is being on time and having your lab manual. As long as you do that you should be fine. After every lab he gives us a quiz on blackboard but its about 10 questions and its really simple. Make sure you go over everything you did in lab and youll pass all your quizzes.

I did really bad in the class however almost all the other reviews are true. He does make class enjoyable and fun. Only thing is to make sure lab book is always on hand and to not be too late.

Professor Hershkoff was honestly the highlight of my week during this semester. He jokes around and is a great professor. You'll learn a lot and will benefit in your lecture class if you do the work and hand things in on time (Easy A). MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR BOOK AND PRINTED SHEETS! It's basically half your grade and it's so simple. Great class.

Best professor I had this semester, & I hate biology. He can call you out for not being responsible but he teaches life lessons here. Bring your lab book & sheets EVERY class, including the first one. He gives you extra credit for doing so. He taught more than my lecture professor and he overall explains everything so well, no confusion. Take him!

He is clear about the quizzes, print papers, the lab manual, and attendance as part of your grade for every week. Quizzes online are easy and is based on the lab and papers you went over in class. It is hard to fail and if you do then that's a you problem.

He is really big on responsibility, three things are mandatory, show up to the lab, on time, bring your books and papers for the lab, I first I thought I would of been a stone in my shoe type of course, but it was actually fun entertaining, and informative, so if you don't mind showing up to class, then this is the professor for you.

Prof Hershkoff is very forward with his expectations & laid everything you need to know in order to pass from the very beginning its really is up to you to put in the work which is minimal. Great Professor, very CLEAR on what he wants and expects from students. (In my class) Better to make up lab than come late because he takes 5 points off if you are late. Bring your lab book and lab summary because he will also take 5 points off if you do not have that. Lab quiz every Sunday (its only max 15 questions all based on the summary sheet)

Easiest lab class, just don't come late to class he will cut point and bring the printed lab papers and textbook for easy 10/10 grade and do the quizzes which were basically what you have done and reviewed during lab. He will call on you so be ready and don't be caught off guard. He can tease you little but just bear through it.

This is an easy class. Just print out the papers he asks for and bring your lab book, and you'll pass without any problems. You may get randomly picked to read, so be prepared for that. Overall, it's a very simple class to pass.
