This is a tough class to teach. Judging on the questions asked during class, after more than a decade in the public schools, most people's minds have been atrophied into paste. Well-intentioned as he may be, he is simply over-matched by the scale of the task and ends up leaving out material useful to better prepared students.

This class was very thought provoking. This professor does a good job of explaining any questions any students have. The tests are on the harder side, but he gives a lot of extra credit to compensate. You have to participate at least 10 times throughout the semester. Overall the material is very interesting. The textbook is used for the homework.

Textbook is used for homework, you need to participated 10 times to earn points, homework is not graded for accuracy as long as you do it you'll get the point. Tests are very easy if you study the material. He makes sure everyone understands the concepts before moving on. You can fail all the tests and still pass with a low B, just show up to class

I was worried about taking this class because i've heard that Philosophy can be difficult. This professor made everything very easy to understand as long as you come to class, pay attention, and do the homework. Tests are all multiple choice. He is a very nice guy and has a sense of humor! 10/10 would take his classes again :)

Mr. Hochstetter is hilarious first of all. If you mention anything about the Packers you'll definitely get into his good graces. You are graded on participation, showing up, homework (not on right answers, just completion), and tests. Dear God in Heaven, SHOW UP! Catching up on material can be really difficult, so try and make it to class.

An okay professor, but this class in general was difficult for me. He gives a lot of outside, supplementary reading to help you understand the material. Every two weeks you have homework that's really tedious (I never did them,) an argument analysis, and a quiz due. Two extra-credit quizzes at the end to help make up for any points you missed.

He's an ok professor. The class is overall not too hard but he is not understanding at all. Don't ask for extensions- he doesn't give them out even if you have a good reason for needing one. The good thing is that he gives homework out and he doesn't really grade it. As long as you try and do the homework, you get full points.

First time I've had a problem with a professor at CSN, and I've been going here for years. He pushes his political views on the student, such as pro-life and more. Along with that he also pushes his own religious beliefs. The test questions are meant to trick you. If I didn't have a character limit I would have more to say. Would not recommend.
