this course and every test administered was designed to trick the students. he tries to make you feel stupid, so he feels smarter. he treets you like children and purposely tries to fail all of the students. at all costs, do not take him!
Never take him! He makes no sense when he tries to explain stuff. He seemes to think he is the best teacher ever and he treats you like you are stupid!
He is the worst professor i have had in my entire 5 years of college. He is condescending, and intentionally tries to make you feel stupid. Even as a math major i don't even want to go to his class!!!!

He is probably the worst professor i have ever had. Having him as a professor makes me want to change my major. He teaches wrong information, and then insists he says it right, and that you copied it down wrong from the board. Avoid him at ALL costs!!!

I didn't think he was a bad teacher, but he was always pissed off and had nothing nice to say. However the class is really easy because linear algebra is just easy. His tests are really easy and he grades them easily but as a person he's horrible.
THIS GUY HAS GOT AN ATTITUDE. HE DOESNT LIKE STUDENTS. WHY DOES THE ADMINISTRATION KEEP HIM. YOU REALLY WONDER ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE THIS WHO DO NOT RESPECT OTHERS. DONT TAKE THIS LOSER.
i liked him . he wasn't too hard, nor easy, made us visit him during office hour once after first test which is nice if you are hesitant to go visit a professor for the fist time . i liked him. i dont think he tries to be mean . heisjustnottoosociable
This man is rude and disrespectful. Moves very fast. I didn't understand some of the material so I went to speak with him. Instead of teaching me he insulted me. He told me that I was stupid and would become a horrible teacher!! Definitely avoid him!

Worked us like we were medieval seminarians during a famine. I got an A but it nearly killed me. Do well and he'll treat you with respect. Has no patience for less than average students.
He's arrogant, nasty, condescending, unorganized, and doesn't teach. You have to teach yourself most, if not all, of the concepts in his class.

He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He makes you feel stupid and often gets confused with simple material. He is one to avoid cause he does not know how to teach and told me that I was not ready for this class.
He's not all that bad...He has a ton of office hours and is constantly willing to help out his students. He wants to see his students succeed. Tests are fair, he tries to make the course and the material as simple as possible. He not that bada teacher.

Dr. K is a nice guy outside of class, but when he is in the classroom, he doesnt care about us students understanding anything. His tests are unfair, and i still dont understand to this day anything i learned in class
If your struggling in class and ask a question, he will make you feel like s***. But he is okay if he sees your making an effort and you come to him after class. Unless you love math, I wouldn't recommend taking him.

I have respect for most teachers, but none for him. He is by far the worst teacher I have ever encountered in my entire educational experience. I whole-heartedly believe he is senile and needs to retire. Teaching is not his forte and he shows it.
easy class, easy-going professor. i skipped at least every other class and was able to get an A. just pay attention when you do go and he's happy.
Total JERK! Unclear, mean, HARSH GRADER.In the linear class I took ,10 out of 25 students stayed and only 7 passed!!!!Sick Man. His handwriting is chicken scratch and teaches you like you should already know advanced linear algebra.
Had him years ago but he was an arrogant****. Wrote the book we used and he thought he was a big deal. He is recipient of tenure system. His time has passed.

Avoid him at all costs. Class went from 28 students to 16, he could give a damn, was happy to pull a C-, after suffering in the class all semester..WORST ONE IN THE DEPT, BY FAR!
One of the worst professors at MSU. He loved to insult students. He loved to humiliate students in front of the class. Should students pay for abuse? I don't think so. I pulled a C, but it was a minor miracle. Avoid if possible.

things have not changed since i graduated.his speciality is verbal abuse upon random students.even said that students could take course over next semester and erase their failing grade.complained that MSU allowed old failing grade to be erased when retaking course and receiving different grade
Scary. If you're weak, like to sleep in class, or don't have a solid grounding in math, avoid. It is possible to learn from him if you actually pay attention and do the work. If you're a CS major, find out when Bredlau is going to teach it, totally different methodology. Worth the wait.

People will think I am crazy, but I liked this professor. He is a little wacky but he can be very nice and helpful(advice- go to his office hours). His tests were easy and I got an easy A. In fact, I took 2 classes with him and I got both A's.
He is the worst teacher I've ever had. If you take him, prepare to learn by yourself & don't try to ask 'cause he'd be angry at you. He doesn't give enough help & goes really fast. If you don't understand that's your problem. Don't Take him!!! never ever
He's very straight forward and wants you to come in prepared with knowing basic algebra and precalc. He can be very rude at times and has annoying habits of making you feel dumb when you ask a question. Moves very quickly. Checks attendence every day. If you are not good in math hes not the person to take.
He's not as bad as the rates are! If you want to learn you will. If you just want to pass the class doing nothing this is the wrong place to be. He can be funny and will tell you what's going to be on the tests...just listen to him carefully.
He spent the entirety of every class period going over the homework. I had to teach myself how to actually do the math. I did well, but know a lot of people had trouble.

He actually had a girl kicked out of the class for the semester after she came in late and asked her neighbor if we had gotten our tests back. He told her to leave for disrupting the class; she refused so he called campus security to escort her out of the building. Very awkward. Short temper. Respect him and you'll do fine.
Just stay away from him!!! He can not teach. He is a very smart man, but he just can't teach. He is a nice guy, but when you go to his office hours for help, sometimes he wants to talk about life. Yes, about life.
I don't understand why everybody hates this guy. I think he is funny, helpful and a great teacher. I got an easy A in his class, and I would take him again!

he is the most strangest professor you can ever have. He is quite tough but if you pay attention, do the hw and ask questions; i gurantee you, you will do fine. Never interupt him and don't be late to his class. Attendance is very Important!!!. he only counts 3test's out of 4 along with a final.He crackes stupid math jokes which no body laughs at

Agreed that he is one moody S.O.B., but as for covering 15 weeks in a 3 week summer course -- what do you expect? That's the POINT of a summer class.
One day a student sneezed, other students said, "God BLess You". He stopped his lesson to lecture the class on how rude it is to interrupt a class lecture/presenter to take a few seconds to say "God Bless You" for that student. Like that one?
If your going to take this professor, take him in the summer. His grading is on a curve and he adds a couple points to your grade on exams. He has three exams total. the final exam is supposed to count 40% but he will count it less if you dont do well . mean but fair. Show all your work
I'm taking his course right now. If u have a lot of patient,u might take him, other wise, NEVER! He always makes mistakes. Blames students about not asking question, but if u ask question, he will look down on u & make u feel bad. Tests are not that hard. But lecture is extremely boring!

His lectures are okay. He shows you plenty of examples which help you learn it, but when you get to the hw...that is much harder and sometimes it will still take you a while to figure out. He does have a short temper and his tests are hard. Don't even think about missing one of his tests.. he won't let you make it up.
True, he does have a bad temper and bit of an attitude problem, but he won't pick on you unless your interupting him and genuinely wants you to do well. You have to pay very close attention. Gives 4 tests and drops the lowest test grade. Assigns homework but doesnt check it. Allowed to be absent no more than 4 times.

Not only does he have a poor attitude, he has absolutely no idea what's going on. When he gets stuck in explaining a problem, he just ends with "etc." and a lecture about how we should already know the method... the method he's being paid to teach. I've taken Calc III elsewhere before, the few times he does explain something, he explains it wrong

He's the author of the txtbook you use in class. Three exams only. Easy to pass as long as you do the homework. Not too smart of a guy, but nice nonetheless. Doesn't make you do HARD examples of problems. Explains how the math relates to a business environment.
He is a very good professor. I took math-114 fall 08 of my freshman year, and I received an A-. As long as you do all the work he assigns as optional then you are fine. I used the textbook a lot. USE IT! He is a nice man, he is willing to help you in his free time. The only thing i did not like was his timed quizzes.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't understand the concept of teaching. He constantly messes up the problems on the board. I got an A because I read the book back to front. It had nothing to do with his rambling nonsense. He has no idea how to use triple iterated integrals. He wasn't able to accomplish one correctly. Disgrace.

Today, a kid ask a question because his handwriting is unreadable and he fliped off because he thought he was disrupting class. He told him to leave the class and threated him that he would call the cops if he didnt. LOL! this guys is a JOKE! Has no class or know respect towards the class.
do not recommend this class to anyone b/c this prof. is crazy! doesnt know how to teach and wont answer questions. oh & whatever you do, do not ask for a pencil sharpener b/c he thinks its a waste of time and will kick you out of class. 4 quizzes + final exam (difficult). BEWARE!!!!
Not good at all. Doesn't explain material good, is confused,always makes mistakes on the board at least 4 to 5 times a class. Teaches it as if it is calculus or higher. Doesn't seem interested in the pre-calculus portion of the course. By far the worst math teacher I have ever taken in my life. Shouldn't be teaching.
This professor is an expert in this subject. People skills, patience, fresh outlook on presenting the material and enthusiasm about teaching are all sorely lacking. He's ready to retire and should because there are many other professors who actually enjoy teaching and get satisfaction out of it. Clearly Professor Kalmanson does not.

He does not explain the material well and his textbook is not very straight forward. I failed the course and took Prof. Choi in the fall. I aced the course. I recommend waiting for a section to open with another professor.
I think he's a good professor,you have to work hard and do things on your own to get a good grade. Whatever he gives on class as lecture is a plus but the most work you have to do on your own. Very helpful when you go to his office. Good Professor despite negative opinion.
