Very Nasty Man

BAD TEACHER!!!!!!!
very fair teacher. very funny guy.
OMG he is such a wacko... He gives a review sheet and then he gives you a completely different example on the test. He continuely makes fun of his students if they dont get it and tries to make jokes...That are not funny.
best professor in Algebra
A great teacher. Do ALL the homework and ask him if you don't undrstsnd them - that's the only way to get a good grade in his class.
He is very nice and helpful teacher. He is intelligent and make things easier for students.Exams are not too hard.He is a fair grader. You have to study hard in his class. He is funny.I like his class. He is one of the best teachers,I had in my life.
VERY intimidating in the beginning of the semester...he gets better..I appreciate his old school attitude of teaching even though I had a heart attack every time I went to class. Without a doubt one of the smartest and sharpest math professors I have ever had. He has a bit of a comedian in him as well. His grading is extremely fair.
material was a bit confusing .. tons of proofs to memorize but if you have to take 220 it's gotta be with kramer. he's the best. very fun also. not too big of a work load, a very conceptual math course, no algorithms really.
He's a very intelligent, yet intimidating professor. He really knows what he's doing and tries to help as much as he can as long as you ask for his help. A very fair grader. As long as you show that you are trying, he gives you a fairly decent grade.
The meanest and crulest math prof. at Queens College. If you want to perform poorly and hate math, this is the guy for you.
had him in '93-i failed math in high school and was petrified-he met with me weekly and worked with me-i barely passed (D+), but i did thanks to his kindness and willingness to help.
Stop intimidating me!!!I don't like ur jokes or your teaching method!!We know you give the same tests every year, so we're gonna ace them. Just keep changing the dates on your computer and printing them out. Your trick is long played out man!!!You need to get with the program, KRAMERBALL!!!!!!!
One of the smartest people I have ever met..and yet he is humble...and yet he will help you with whatever you need

In my opinion, he's the best math professor I've had so far in this school. He can be intimidating, but if you get past that, he's a wonderful professor. I've learned a lot from him in this class and I'm glad I took it with him. His exams are fairly straight forward. Do your hw and answer his questins in class and you'll do fine in his class.
if you want to just show up to class and pass, run in the other direction. You have to study, study and then study some more. He is not that bad but he expects a lot. If you are sensitive don't take him because he does joke but it's not to hurt anyone. Very helpful if you ask for it. you have to work hard in the class but its not impossible.
The meanest, worst, cruelest professor on campus. Does not explain anything. Is not helpful

He is the best. Very Clear explaination.

Very good professor. Do all the homeworks, memorize important theorems and you will do well.
Great Professor.
He is a fabulous instructor who knows his material very well. He explains all the theorems, goes over review problems, goes over relevant homework questions and gives review sheets for the exams..he tells jokes often, keeps you on your feet..don't fall behind with the proofs and you'll do great..overall-he is a phenomenal mathematics professor
Your phenomenal. Words can't express how much I love your class. You've inspired me to achieve my best. I am a proud Pure Mathm Major and hope to, one day, be an excellent well-resprected college professro like you. Dtay great! And keep teaching and cracking jokes. I love you man!
He's a good professor. Very clear, organized and funny. I was adamant about taking him b/c of the comments below, but I made the right choice. Exams are straightfoward. Questions come from HW and notes. You MUST do your HW to do well, plus he calls on you for them. You will do proofs in his classes, but I admit, they were helpful. Open to questions
Warning: another student wrote that he gives the same exams. Dont believe it or you will really get stuck. But if you work hard and do your homework you can get a good grade in this class.
his class wasn't easy but if you do the homework and pay attention in class the tests aren't bad. Also he is extremely helpful. He is a great professor.
He is fun.
Prof. Kramer is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He knows his material inside and out and he knows how to teach it so you can understand it. calculus is a tough subject, but he made it fun by cracking jokes and being silly. All that said, he expects you to do your work and to attend class. If you do your hw and attend you'll do fine.
Professor Kramer teaches calculus in baby steps. He writes out everything in english, in full sentences so when you look back at your notes to study, its not gibberish. I thought he was really clear and straight-forward.
He is fun, I like him. Excellent math professor. He'd make a good comedian if he ever decides no more math, or a standup mathematician perhaps.
This professor really is fantastic. Brilliant, funny, very helpful and in tune with the pace of the class. He grades fairly, all he really asks is for students to know what they're doing and grasp the material. If you don't do the HW you might embarrass yourself. Not an easy class but if you really want to learn work hard and take it with the best.
This is one of my favorite professor's I've had so far. Very funny. Very organized when he writes on the chalkboard too, which is a big plus with this subject especially with 3D graphs and stuff.
Awesome guy/teacher. very clear and straight forward. awesome with partial credit. goes over everything until people fully understand and entertains the most annoying questions. Has office hours where he's really helpful and goes over problems even from the take home tests. Wish i could take him for most other classes! one of my favs
he is the best math teacher i had. very organized, neat handwriting, has office hours and also emails in case you cant meet him in person. he gives hw everyday and calls on people in class to solve it. his exams can be hard, but if you do the hw, study and attend every class it should be cake. gives partial credit also. very fair. take him.
Prof. Kramer is the best! He knows his stuff inside out and makes math fun by giving jokes. He even asked for a hot red chilly peper back in 2009 so I'm giving you one!U got to take him if you like math and want to enjoy it!
the way he teaches was very useful. but he gives TOO much notes and makes it feel like we are writing essays instead of learning math formulas. he is a lot of help when he is outside of class. his tests are tricky so make sure to look over ur hw and go to class!
Professor Kramer is a true Mathematician, he really knows his stuff and clearly explains mathematical concepts. He is very understanding and knows how to teach. Yes, he does give a LOT of notes but he's fair with his tests. He's tough but helpful, I learned a lot from his class. Take him if u want to really learn Mathematics (not arithmetic)
THE BEST math prof at QC! Very clear in explanations. Phenomenal teaching skills. fair exams. If ur teaching HS, take him just to learn truly how to teach. Pushes students to become better. He's like Mickey from the Rocky movies: He'll work you to the bone, and call you a bum, but in the end you're gonna eat lightning and crap mathematical thunder
nice guy- has sense of humor. as long as you do the hw and keep up with the material u'll get a good grade. the material is kinda difficult but he gives clear explanations.
AVOID THIS GUY, I DONT KNOW WHY HE GOT GOOD RATINGS, HE TEACHES TO US LIKE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER WHAT WE LEARNED FROM PRECAL AND HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL, THAT WAS YEARS AGO, PLEASE AVOID HIM, TAKE A PROFESSOR THAT BREAKS MATH DOWN STEP BY STEP, AVOID!!!
If you dont know high school math and are struggling with 141, dont blame the guy for not re-teaching you what you're supposed to know, the guy isnt teaching high school. Prof Kramer is a damn good instructor if you brush up on your fundamentals.
Don't take him. He cannot teach. Everyone was scared to ask him a question because he kept asking "dare ask a question". and students were scared of that. waste of my money, time and effort. picks on you randomly. If you cannot answer him, he makes fun of you, exams don't make sense. beware of all of this if you decide to take him. good luck.
Of course he expects you to know pre-calc! THIS IS CALCULUS! Gee, would an intermediate level spanish instructor expect you to know beginner level spanish?! Yes! It's the same idea here. & if you don't know...then it's YOUR responsibility to review, not his...he's EXTREMELY generous with his time. You can ask him questions whenever & he WILL answer
Easy to get lost in abstract algebra. But if you attend class and put effort into doing and understanding the assignments, it makes sense! Part credit on exams just for writing down what you're thinking. Generous with his time. All around good-guy professor.
Professor Kramer is the best professor at QC!! I was worried I forgot all my math because the last time I did any of it was 2 years ago but he was amazing and explained everything perfectly!! Of course it's important to remember high school math, and he actually did brush up on it a bit. His tests are tough but its calculus, its not easy. A :)
Kramer is an amazing teacher, but you need to be willing to do the work. Those who say they didnt like him probably did not do the hw, or didnt pay attention in class. If you do all the hw, go to class, and use the review sheets he gives for the test, you will do extremely well, even if math is not your strong subject
if you're into arithmetic, he's not your man. wants you to understand why math works the way it works. (i'm not like into math theory, hello, could u just do the damn problem?) he LIVES to make you MEMORIZE definitions, and ask them on the test. overall good prof, will answer questions day or night, fair tests, HW not collected, just participate =)
I have only had him for about a month, but i can tell he is a good guy. He tries to explain as much as he can and he does want you to understand. He does try to live up the class with jokes and they are not that bad... at least he tries. Personally, he gets an A for effort and for being a good professor.
Hands down the best professor i've had thus far in queens college. Professor Kramer is extremely intelligent and couldnt be any clearer in his lectures. Any problems with questions can be easily explained during class or office hours. His tests require you knowing every single detail which is difficult to do but very helpful if you love math!
He was very clear in his presentation of a rather abstract course. He was also able to give the intuition and motivation behind difficult concepts.
Very good in teaching students and give exams that are based on computing things. Though, the exams also contain definitions. For those who are not word-based whizs should be cautious, even if he is that good. Make sure to prepare for exams and HWs and everything. Pay attention to class to get better grades!
Very good professor who provides the materials very well. Very kind to students and provide help to those who need help in some math concepts. Asks each of the students to answer the HW questions, which really help them to do well on exams, though the exam questions are not the same as the ones in the HW. Highly recommended for students!
Dr Kramer is a brilliant professor. Look at where he obtained his doctoral degree! He knows how to make difficult ideas in Linear Algebra very understandable for students. He is a math nerd in every sense possible. (I mean that in a good way!) Put in the work, and you will walk out with a :) or, get lazy, and walk out with a guaranteed F.
You will LOVE the course if you take him, but he is a VERY STRICT grader. He takes off so many points for small mistakes. Be attentive, work hard, and most importantly do your homework you will be fine and receive an easy A.
amazing prof. its a hard class but he makes it as simple as possible. make sure you know the proofs he will ask it on the test. attendance is not mandatory but if you come and participate he will curve nicely for you. I WOULD DEFIANTLY TAKE HIM AGAIN
Absolutely one of the best Professors I have ever had. Great mathematician, and good man. If you want to learn, just follow his lead.
You have to work hard, but you'll learn a lot in his class. Just know how to do all of the homework and proofs and you'll do fine on the exams. He also tells great jokes!
One of the best professors at QC!!! Do the HW for your own good and you'll get the most out of the class. His humor makes the class lively, his teaching is brilliant and his care for us students is priceless! Highly recommended!
Good man and Mathematician. Great sense of humor. It's simple: keep up with the work, and his exams are straight forward. You will learn something in his class, no question. I would take him again
Professor Kramer is a genius. He will teach you Linear Algebra inside and out. His lectures are amazing, he couldn't be clearer and more succinct. That said, you need to study a lot for this class. You need to be on top of the HW, attend class, study proofs and definitions he gives and you'll be on your way to an A.
Yeah, he can be a little harsh with his comments but he means well. The only way you will pass this class is you need to do the homework, there is no way out of it. Not only do the homework but understand it! Also, attend class because Kramer puts some theorem that are not in the textbook! Final is a combination of all three exams. Nice prof!
He acts tough at first then shows a soft side. Overall, he is a nice person and teaches fantastic.
not an easy A but a good professor
He understands student and is not the type of professor who likes students who just want to sit and do no work. Meaning you have to do your homework and study. If not, you won't pass. Grading on class is based on 3 exams and a final, nothing more. He's pretty funny too.
He is not like your average professor. He likes proofs and theory. You need to do your homework and study. You can't sit and do nothing, it won't work. His exams are okay, an occasional trick question here and now. Most people drop the class by the 2nd test because they do not want to do work. Otherwise, he is a really good lecturer.
Not great at all- TRUST ME
If you are serious about math and or just like math, Prof Kramer is a must have. Personally, i would take all the courses with him if he ever teaches them.
He is doable if you study but he is tough, I aint going to lie
The exams are easier than the others I've taken within the math department, and he is a pretty lenient grader who gives very good feedback on any submitted work (he'll even look for algebra errors!) Study often, do the homework, and work with your classmates and you'll do great. Make a good impression on him and he'll leave a good one on your GPA.
All the math courses at Queens College are a waste of time unless you want to be a math teacher like the time 2000 people or you wanna be like Michael London and graduate from time 2000 and then work as an adjunct. all the math profs over there suck a lot of you know what
Amazing prof! Linear Algebra isn't easy, so get ready to work for a good grade. Lots of proofs and theory, but the professor explains everything and repeats stuff over and over. Super patient, kind, always answers questions during office hours, lenient grader, gives detailed review sheets before exams, no webassign.
Awesome prof. clearly teaches the material, has a lot of patience, and will answer your questions in class, thru email, or during office hours. the tests have everything he says he will put on it- if he says study a proof, study that proof. you can't slack off if you wanna do well. he is sort of forgiving with grades if u improve tho
Prof Kramer is a really great guy, and a very fair professor. Personally I only took the course because for some reason it is required for my major (bio), and i just do not understand math at all. Yet taking the course with prof Kramer made it somewhat better and he really tried his best to help me understand the material
This guy made linear algebra a breeze. Take him if you have the chance. Be sure to study from the hw problems the most. He gives review sheets before each exam, which include which proofs and chapters you need to go over. Learn those proofs!!!They will absolutely save you on all the exams and the final if you get it close to 100% right.
The material in this class is not too challenging to learn from his class notes which is what you should learn rather than what's in the textbook. He provides review sheets for all exams with all proofs you need to know. The exams are straight to the point and if you do the homework you should do well on the exams. He calls on people to do the hw.
Prof. Kramer is an amazing teacher; he is clear, well spoken, funny, knowledgeable, and approachable. He is often available outside of class and is happy to help. The tests are straightforward and he always grades in your favor. The lectures are entertaining; full of references to current events and nerdy jokes. Take him, you won't regret it!
Enjoyed my Math 202 course with Prof. Krammer. He is a fair grader that gives great feedback with tons of partial credit.
Amazing professor! Some people don't like that he makes you do proofs for formulas but once you get passed that, he is a very fluid teacher! Just do the homework for practice, pay attention in class, and see him as soon as you have questions. You should do great. (p.s. he went to Columbia for undergrad and Harvard for graduate!)
The best math professor I have taken so far in Queens college. He explained every chapter well and covers them in detail. Feel free to ask him questions because he will answer them with patience. However, due to Math 201 being a hard course, I advise you to be ready to spend at least an hour or two for homework each class.
Awesome professor! His lectures are entertaining and interesting, but he will call on you to the homework so make sure to do your part and be prepared! Hes very into partial credit and really looks to give you a good grade. He gives extra credit as well as being very accessible outside of class if you need help. Would take him again in a second!
Dr. Kramer is an awesome professor. The key to doing well in his class is attending lecture as well as completing/ understanding the homework he assigns. Webassign is optional and for extra credit.
One of the best Professors you could take. Pay attention in his classes and do the homework, and you'll get the A and more importantly, a better understanding of the material. Would definitely take him again.
Dr. Kramer is a tough cookie but a good one though. He makes you work for your grade so you must do your homework, read the test book and ask as many questions possible. A really good study session of the material would definitely prepare you for his exams. Dr. Kramer is heavy on theorems! (He's favorite). You learn a lot in his class.
He's a nice guy and cares about his students. However, he makes his class harder than most of the other sections because he is very into theories and proofs. Even if you're an incredible math student, his class is hard work and lots of studying. I'm always an A+ math student, and I find it hard to follow what he's teaching. I wouldn't recommend.
Professor Kramer is a caring and kind professor. He gives a lot of homework so make sure you do them and pay attention in class. If you enjoy proofs and theorems, certainly take his classes (VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ENJOY THAT) you'll learn a lot. He is very passionate about math, engages the class a lot and will work with you to help any confusion.
Proof proof proof, proof proof proof, Proof proof proof proof. Proof proof proof proof. Proof/Proof would prove again.
Prof Kramer is VERY knowledgeable and knows his stuff. His course is HARD because he wants you to learn the core of it. With that being said, if you really want to learn the math, he'll be your go-to. He'll teach you EVERY theoretical proof and ask you to prove it. If you just want to credits and pass, STAY AWAY. He's also known as "The proof man".
He doesn't only teach you math, but also teaches you things that are related to your real-life. Some are good to know tbh. I'd say he's probably the most knowledgeable math prof in QC math dept. You can doubt me on that, but you'll be wrong. I aced a lot of high level courses that were taught by other profs, but I could never ace his courses.
He expects students to absorb all the mathematical proofs and be able to recite them. Instead of formal exams, his grading policy is based on whether individual students can explain and answer assigned hw problems. This isn't a big deal- just complete the hw and email him/attend office hours. He's funny, and he'll clarify any questions you have.
He probably the most knowledgeable professor at Queens College. If you ask him any question; he would be able to answer it. Please attend class and participate because this is one class you can't slack off of. He will push you further into the math world. Studying is key to passing his course.
Great lectures, and actually tells you about some of their applications in the real world. I think he's a really good introduction to doing proofs, as opposed to only doing computation.
Reviewing the concepts/definitions and doing the homework is key to doing well in this class. He is available during his office hours too in case anything isn't clear. I thought he was quite fair and wanted everybody to do well this semester. Don't expect an easy A if you don't do the work.
A legend! He makes you to love math!
You can tell he has accumulated decades upon decades of experience in lecturing about mathematics, and that he has an extensive knowledge of the subject matter that goes beyond the textbook. He lectures based on his own notes and his own personalized view of the subject, which is often more coherent than what you see in the book. Detailedprep4exams
He has an obviously strong command of the pertinent microskills in lecturing on mathematical topics.
I just finished the final. He makes MATH202 quite a bit harder than all the other professors, but it's definitely doable. Be ready to learn to deal with the confluence between proofs&calculus. Decent prep for Real Analysis. Make sure you get all the homework done, apparently a lot of other students didn't. I might get an A-/A/A+, not sure
He's a very funny guy, he makes the lectures a lot easier to listen to. He also understands that students might not actually remember/understand how to do things from former classes, so he makes sure to go over them. I recommend him for linear algebra because he makes the theoretical side pretty easy to understand.
He is nice but the way he teaches 202 is backwards. The class is revolved around the hw which is assigned every class that takes 4-6 hours to do. Only teaches the proofs and theorems in class then expects you to do the hw. Calls on students in class to explain the hw(worth part of your grade) and if you dont know how to do it, he belittles you.
Kramer doesn't fully compute anything he does in class because its "too hard for him" and we should already know how to do it according to him. If one student knows how to do the problem then he thinks everyone knows how to do it. He excepts you know everything you learned in the past to come back to you magically and doesn't show clear examples.
I absolutely loved MATH202. His clear explanations and passion for the subject made complex concepts feel approachable. Engaging discussions and challenging yet rewarding assignments. Would recommend.
Do NOT take him. He's VERY obsessed with understanding proof/theory. He is a good lecturer, patient with questions, and generous with partial credit, but his final was merciless, and was harder than previous department ones. The problems harder than the HW assigned in the textbook. He said he expected everyone to fail the first exam. NO CURVE.
Very proof-heavy. I'm not good with proofs so this professor was not for me. However, his lectures were very good. Just wish his exams weren't so proof-heavy.
The class is challenging, but engaging discussions and detailed exam prep make it rewarding. Unstuck ai proved invaluable for study support alongside the textbook.
My first math professor at Queens College and I'm considering the choice of choosing another class. This professor uses an app and will call you out randomly for his questions and publicly embarrasses you if you don't know the answer. It pisses me off because he told the whole class that it was an insult that I chose this class. Avoid this professr
He is one of the kindest professors I've had and genuinely cares about his students. Office hours are very important and he is always supportive. However, the course focuses heavily on memorizing proofs rather than real understanding, and I did not feel I learned much math at all. Great person, not great for learning math.
