A new professor at GPC. I'm glad I found him!

He is a new professor at the school and I wasn't sure what to think at the beginning because I thought he was a student! However, he cares for his students and is always available. He wants to see you succeed, but is a little picky with grammar and format. But then again, it is an English class. I would recommend him. Great Professor!

good teacher. i enjoyed the class as well. Not easy easy but i made an A pretty easily. You have to do well on the work, but thats easy because there isnt much work.

Great teacher. Interesting and proofreads your papers for you if you ask. If you work well with him and do what you need to you can get an A. It seems thats just tricky for some people though.

I have to comment on Kenneth and his professional manner. Today I saw some kids that got mad at him because they were unprepared for class. I guess some of my fellow students don't know how to read a syllabus. Anyway, I thought he handled the situation well and I feel fortunate to have him teaching me. I just wish he would teach 1102!

I was scared to come back to school at my age. I thought I would be surrounded by high school age kids. I tested into a learning support class and was so disappointed in myself. Mr. Mac showed me how to be a btter writer. When he asks us to raise our hand if we learned something, I raise my hand with pride! If you read these Mr. Mac, THANK YOU

I had Mr. McNamara this summer at Bossier Parish. I've never been more inspired to write. He made me an awesome writer. Now the teacher I have is dull compared to him. I wish he could have been my teacher this semester too.

Ok, so I was just told I did not pass this class. I am not surprised. I did not put forth the effort. Thought I could slide by with a C at least. Didn't happen. But I am going to take Mr. Mac again. I am just going to get myh act together.

BEFORE THIS CLASS I HATED WRTING & WAS REALLY AFRAID TO TAKE THIS CLASS.He taught me to have confidence in my papers&not to give up.He pushed me when I needed it&was always willing to help even when he was home relaxing.I would recommend this teacher to everyone.He loves his job&wants to see his students succeed.He doesnt give grades, you earn them

One week down and I am pumped about this guy. My class is 1hours and 45 minutes and it goes by like that! I know I will learn a lot from this professor. "Mr Mac" wants to be in the classroom and it is ovbious!

He is a great teacher but a little messy so it takes a while for you to get your papers back but there is only 4 essays and they are really easy. but if you do you MLA format wrong he takes off 10 points. gives extra credit. pretty funny teacher but gets angry when students fall asleep in class.

Mr. Mac is an awesome teacher. This was his first year teaching 1102 nd he rocked it. U do read maybe 4 or 5 stories out your book and u take a quiz worth 25 points. You right a paper on every story you read and then you have ur research paper at the end of the semester and you're done!!! TAKE HIM IF U KNW ANY BETTER~!

omg if u want an a take him. i took 1101 and 1102 with him. before i had him as a teacher i felt like a terrible writer but now that i have left his class i feel real confident when writing essays his work load is not heavy at all. he is very understandng and will work with you on ur essays. writing will bcome a brezze i promise u take him!

I enjoyed his class.. he brings so much life to it! He does not pile to much work on his students and if you dont understand something he will work with you until you do. Just make sure you read the assigned stories because he does like to quiz! GREAT PROFESSOR!

he is a good teacher. i was in his class for writing 98. if you are going to take him make sure u know how to write a little he gives a writing sample each week but it helps b/c thats what u do to test out of LS.. if u take him make sure u can atleast write a ok paper and he will help u along the way to make it a pass on the writing samples

I would not be in Mr. Mac's class if it weren't for his teaching style! He is what got me through learning support. I was on my last attempt in the class. Take him and do not look back.

Mr. Mac keeps it real! He brings life to what I thought would be a plain old boring English class! He is not your average Professor. He is above that and treats you like an adult. Just act like an adult and you will love this class!

we were cool until the end when he screwed me over. I was one day late with the research paper. From a 92 to a 62 in one day. What is that suppose to teach me?

People do not believe these ridiculous untrue comments about Mr. Mac. What you put into the class is what you get out the class. Mr. McNamara is awesome and is willing to help all his students.To pass the course, a student needs to show up for class and actually look over their papers before they turn them in. Mr. Mac is an Awesome professor. He is very understanding and cares about his students. He is always willing to help. I got an A for 1101 and 1102. Those of you complaining simply didn't do the work! Anybody willing to learn to write a perfect essay and recieve an A in english should take him.. He is EXCELLENT!!!

Awesome! One of the most diverse and interesting professors I have had yet! Makes English interesting. Brings in some great stories and without him, I would not have passed my Regents exam! I can't believe my eyez when I read this! I have him this semester cuz my friend told me to take him. I haven't had a professor like him in a long time! Fun, gots a great heart, and makes a boring subject fun. He does have office hours! I went on a Friday cuz of my work and he was there. On a FRIDAY. Take him.

Mr Mac is an awesome professor. He never treats you badly.As long as you follow what he wants from you, you are fine to go.Remember though he is all round he really wants to know what you have learned from his course. You can not find any professor better than him for Eng 1101& 1102.His is excellent teacher,approachable, open, and helpful.

Mr. Mac is a great teacher, if you try ha enough you will do great. English for me has always been a boring subject, but Mr. Mac adds interactive activities and his personal stories which makes it great. He is the first teacher that has made me actually want to take English. Take Mr. Mac!!!

Mr. Mac is the best Professor of English at GPC. Took ENG 99 during the summer. Easy A for me. He loves his job. He came to class on time,he is organized, he posted grades right away. He taught us a variety of sentence structures,beginnings,and ideas. I passed the class with an (A),passed the writing sample,and passed the Compass with an (87%)!!!

Mr. Mac was a great teacher when I had him last Spring. I encourage anyone with a pulse to take his class. He was very clear and not boring. He is a also a sweetheart that does not have a problem with helping who wants to be helped.

Mr Mac's class is easy. He brings alot of personal opinions in the class which some people laugh but not me. I guess they afraid. Turns out I did not have to take this class. Thats GPC advisors for ya. But since I did take his Engl class I tell you he is hardly in his office. During his office hours he will be someplace else on campus.Average Class

That last post looks like you did need the class. I had Mr. Mac too. The class was tough. I am not going to lie about that. Mr. Mac was helpful though. If he wasn't in office hours, he always told us where to find him. I got a C, but hey at leasst I am out of Learning Support! Taking him again for ENGL 1101! Recommended!

Brilliant professor. I didn`t like writing and still don`t after his class. However, each lecture was interesting,his choices of authors and short stories had led me to be interested in reading and the English language in a new way. I definitely love him for that and would recommend him, definitely.

One of the best English teachers gpc has, made the clas very interesting, gave helpful feedback on papers, and cared about her students, she gives help when you ask and no she does not just give out grades you earn the grade you recieve

I love Mr. Mc! Took him this past Summer and the class was a breeze. Four papers, 1 easy quiz & No Test.. I hated writing & NEVER understood writing but he taught me well. Taking him this Fall for Engl 1102 & I will do great! I recommend his class 100% great teacher & very helpful.

The best teacher to enter GPC. He is so helpful & loves the subject he teaches. He responds to emails very quickly which help a lot. He didn't require a book for my class. He gave us essays w/ good topics & went into detail on the topic & allows us to have class days devoted to writing the essay. Everyone should take Mr. Mac!!

Mr. Mcnamara is a wonderful professor. I took 1101 & I am taking 1102.He is willing to help if needed, is very knowledgeable & easy. We did do more writing, but it's 1102! If u like diversified class & Easy class take him.have reading quizzes. I am an international, he understands and helps all students. Mr. MC is one of best professor in GPC.

He's an awesome professor! He will help you when needed. Do NOT be afraid to ask questions in his class, whether it be before in the middle, or at the end of his class. He's very patient with his students, and he will explain everything very thoroughly. :D

Iknow there is like 100 people tell you to take his class but i still want to add my input because he is that great!! I REALLY hated writing but since his class its not all that bad he taught me well and opened my eyes to analyzing in general. He is very very considerate and the best professor in GPC, seriously you should take his class no doubt.

I really liked this class. He gave very simple essays for the short stories we read and with most of them came a video version to help us see the story in different point of view. Everything was straight to the point with the guidelines and if dates changed, he was sure to let us know and gave us a revised schedule. I would recommend his class.

I would highly recommend Mr Macnamara, because he is passionate about English and his students. He always make jokes and have the class laughing. The essays are easy and if you attend class its a easy A!

Prof McNamara is the best English prof ever. He is very understanding, helpful and respectful. Whenever you don't understand something in class, go to him and he will be of great help. This an easy A class as long as you do the work, usually about 7 short stories quizzes, very easy as long you read the stories. Take him and you won't regret it.

This professor is really awesome. You do not need to buy a textbook at all. All you really need is an internet and a computer to lookup the books that he want you to read. Sometimes, this professor will give you a free A, if he's lazy to quiz you. Read the book and pass his class.

Took Professor McNamara online this summer. Great feedback on papers, quick to respond, and really wants to see you succeed. Wish he taught 1102 online. A+ Professor!!!

First time in GSU I took Prof. Holt. Big Mistake. Prof. McNamara taught me more in an online 6 week class than Holt in 14 weeks. I got an A on all paper. As long as you follow his guidelines you should do fine. Graded by 4 papers, no discussion, and 4 simple writing sentences assignments. Peer reviews are a few easy questions and a self assessment

Professor McNamara cares about things like MLA format but he is pretty lenient on simple errors. He is pretty to-the-point when it comes to what is required of us and the whole class is basically writing essays and the occasional quiz on a reading. The quizzes are simple questions like "What was the name of the cashier at the store?"

As long as you do what he asks, you'll get an A. I took his class over the summer. There's were a couple small assignments in the beginning, 2 regular essays, and 1 mini-research paper which counted for double the points. I finished the class with a 99. If he taught 1102, I would DEFINITELY take him!!! Spots fill up fast so try to get him!!

This professor teaches in a way that you will not only learn the fundamentals of writing, but also knowing how to use your grammar correctly and effectively. I absolutely love this professor.

I would highly recommend this professor and I got a chance to take again in a different class I would definitely take it again. Only if the class is taken on campus and he is a good prof.

Englis is not my favorite subject, but with Professor McNamara I was able to enjoy and learn more than I expected. He is funny and very helpful in the process. You do have to work hard and check your grammar.

I took this class online & I loved it! It wasn't stressful at all. Professor McNamara is the BEST! There were 4 reading assignments, 2 mini papers and 1 mini research paper that counted as the final exam worth 200 points. His class was pretty easy, just do your work and turn it in on time. Also, get ready to read & review a peers paper.

Best English Professor. Took both ENG 1 & 2. ENG 1: a little hard but follow the writing rules you will get A. ENG 2: Easy Quizzes at class based on stories, just read. Easier Essays than ENG 1. Midterm based on characters which he will give beforehand. Loved the stories. Very Specific on MLA format, will deduct points if wrong. Just take him.

Hes incredibly easy and expects all of your essays to be written very formulaically. Dont try to get creative with your writing style, or hell take off points. Other than that, he grades generously and his essay topics were open-ended, which was nice. I took his English 1101 class online over the summer, and only wrote 3 essays total. Super easy

I took Professor McNamara for fall2020, I absolutely loved him! He is not a harsh grader as long as you follow the instructions given with each paper, more specifically the format of the essays. He did not swarm us with assignments and was very understanding with giving us the appropriate amount of time to complete each assignment. He's Awesome.

Professor McNamara was great. I am glad I took him and that I took the class right after 1101. This class is different from 1101 though so make sure you are solid on writing an analysis and doing research. His work is not difficult, but his guidance is not step-by-step either. However, he is VERY helpful and understanding. Definitely take him!

Great professor. Beware of cultural activity that's in syllabus. He doesn't announce this to class, so make sure you do it. Other than that, he's clear with instruction & is a pretty easy grader. Sends announcements weekly saying what you need to do that week. It was a reading one week then a paper the next and kinda kept alternating. 5 easy papers

Professor Mcnamara's class is very easy, all of the essays are easy if you read the assign short story. Remember to check for MLA style, he is very specific on those. His grading is not very harsh, you just need to follow his guidelines. The final research paper was not bad, and you should use Grammarly acc that GSU give to check plagiarism. Easy A

I had Mcnamara for dual enrollment and he was a great professor. I just finished his class and would 100% recommend taking his class again. If you follow his guideline for his assignments, it will be an easy A. You have a lot of freedom doing your essays and gives you a lot of time to get your assignments done.

Professor Mcnamara was one of the best professors I've ever had. His work was simple and straightforward. He was an easy grader. As long as you do your work, you'll pass. If English isn't your best subject, I definitely recommend taking his class!! It's an easy A.

Professor McNamara was literally the BEST !!!!! I Had him for ENGL 1101 and this was literally my favorite class. there were not many writing assignments, and there is no final exam test, just a research paper. I wish I could have him as my professor for ENGL 1102!!

I had Professor McNamara for ENGL 1101 & 1102 and he was AMAZING. All we had to do was write essays. If you do not enjoy writing papers you will still do great because Professor Mac's guidelines for essays are clear and easy to follow. Out of all the teachers at Georgia State - Perimeter College, take Professor Mac. He is awesome and funny.

All of professor Mcnamara grading and feedback is straightforward, simple.

AMAZING! Such calm and funny and really understanding, he really made the class fun and let us out early. Just pop quizzes, 4 essays and he gives you a week to do it which is good timing. He would help you if you need him and answer any questions. Really would recommend him.

I never got below a 98 on all my essays, the only time I got a 98 was due to me forgetting a thesis. He also does not grade grammar. Super easy teacher, only given 3 essays and he allows you to turn assignments in late 2 times and he will grade it no matter how late you are. After these two times its only 1 point off per day.

Hardly ever went to class as he gives 2 classes off for each of 4 papers (only took me 2-4 hours each), 3 off for the final exam research paper, and early semester finish. Knock off ALL his guidelines for an easy 100. Hes a really kind person & quick to grade & read emails. A little reading, but with hard quizzes on so actually read. Chill.
