MacroEcon. He's simply a good professor. He teaches well, and wants everyone to understand his lectures.
Power points all the time, I find that boring. Have had better teachers in Econ.
Excellent class! Recommend asking more questions than you think when it comes to tests.
He's an excellent professor, very clear, and helpful.
He always uses powerpoint, which is nice. His tests are difficult, but if you study and go to class you should be fine. He's always willing to explain things too.
Top two or three prof's I've ever had. Would recommend him to anyone. His notes are clear and easy to follow
he talks way to fast...i think he should slow down a little. but he is willing to help you. nice guy.
1st test is easy...then they get hard...he has in class assignments sometimes and a quiz every friday and all tests are also on friday...so try to take him TR
Hey went over everything many times. I understood his teaching. the study guides helped a lot. but talks very fast
He's a really good professor...goes through everything fast, but is willing to help when you need it. Just ask questions. I would recommend him to anyone.
Very good professor. One of my best professors I have had. Just go to class and you will be fine.
Excellent prof. he has goo power pnts. and know what he is talking about. If you take microeconomics be sure to take him, i got an A.
He is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He won't answer your e-mails and won't stay late to answer your questions. Tests are too hard, and the power points are very annoying. Makes you write really, really fast to get all the notes down.
Pretty easy class. Study for exams, they get harder. Overall a pretty laid back class.
One of my favorite professors so far - does a great job exlaining things (sometimes he repeats things too much) - Tests gradually get harder but nothing too difficult - nice guy was accomodating when I had to miss class or a test
One of my favorite professors so far! Very interested in helping, and very clear on lectures. Test are pretty easy if you study notes from class. I would recommend to take him for Econ
this profesor explains things well in class but if you want help, good luck. its like hes in a big damn hurry to be somewhere, yet he says to stop by his office all the time. weird guy.
Great professor. I liked him a lot!! Study the powerpoints and go to class and its an easy course. The tests are hard but not too hard if you study. I recommend him to all my friends!!
He is a good teacher, the class is somewhat hard though, you have alot of in class quizzes and the tests aren't not easy, although he takes the average of your top 3 and makes your 4th test that score. The homework is easy, he is a good teacher, but the class is somewhat hard.
Class is a lot of fun, it's very interesting how economics and law can be used together. Class is pretty easy if you stay on task and go to lecture. Doesn't use the book, don't buy it.
Made Economics easy to understand. I did 8 times better in this class then in 205 with Mohaggadam (horrible professor). I was dreading another Econ class after 205 but really loved this class. He makes everything seem easy. Loved it. Cares about students and our understanding of the subject.
Dr. Rebeck created my interest in economics. I recommend his teachings to anyone interested in the economics dept.
I thought he was an ok teacher. He knew what he was talking about but was comletely obsessed with John Stossel. He is confusing and his tests are really hard. I wouldn't suggest taking his class...it's hard and boring.
This teacher seems to care about his students. His tests might be a little hard but if you do all the homework and in-class stuff you should do fine. He knows what he's talking about, and always is willing to respond to questions. If you stay on task this class is okay.
I loved this class. The professor was very clear. I always hated Econ until I took this class. You will have to work in this class and attend class every other day. It will be worth it in the end. If you really want to learn something take this class. He was very helpful when I went for help.
He is horrible, takin a lot of econ classes, hands down, the worst!
he's a great teacher. i took macro before this and didnt understand it, but he relates econ to the real word not just hypothetical scenerios.
great prof. he is very clear and will help you in any way if you visit office hours. he gives really good notes, if you know them you will do excellent on the tests. expect a few short assignments and a quiz every thursday, but they aren't hard. he makes the material very understandable and applicable. take him and you won't be dissapointed
Class starts out very interesting and pretty straight forward but then he decides that the class needs to be more difficult- class starts to become annoying- plan on taking ALOT of notes-DONT buy the book no matter how much he says he uses it and that you should be reading
Do well on the first test cuz thats the easiest. fun class, interested in what he teaches. all in all good class. tests have 3x5 card and list of key topics. copy those and u should do well.
interesting lectures but seems to have very conservative views. Although, I am not complaining, I agree with him on most issues. Exams were pretty easy just as long as you kept up on the reading and study your notes everyonce in a while. Quiz once a week with someother easy assignments. He really made me enjoy this econ!
Take him. Hes pretty cool., Very clear, makes econ understandable, always willing to help.
hes pretty good, better than most econ profs, he gets pretty excited about econ and repeats himself like 100 times but it sticks in your brain that way. i actually dont mind this class,
He is a good guy and a good professor. Is willing to help students whenever they ask. Tests can be hard. I think this is a good micro class to take.
Rebeck is an amazing teacher he is the only teacher I had at St. Cloud that was highly intelligent. He got so excited about teaching to the point where he was very nerdy, but he is definitely an awesome teacher and I would highly recommend him!
This was a very good class. Rebeck made it very fun and even though i was one of the few freshman in the class i still recieved at A- and probaby should have recieved an A. I never once opened the book, and the online quizes made the learning easy. Tests were fairly easy. Overall great professor.
Very Helpful. He extends office hours before tests to help if anyone needs it. He usderstands his stuff and if you need further explanations of the stuff that is to be covered he will do his best to insure that you understand the material. Allows a 3x5 notecard on tests that can have anything that you want on it. Bottom line very good.
very helpful. extends office hours to help students before tests. will take time in class to clarify the material being taught. does a very good job of making a boring class somewhat interesting. very fair grader.
Extremely easy to get the grade you want in his class. The lowest test is dropped. Online assignments are not hard just take some time. You need to go to class though beause there is usually a quiz each week (really easy too). Very nice and helpful guy. THIS IS THE CLASS TO TAKE PEOPLE, SERIOUSLY.
Awesome teacher! Always makes sure the students understand the material. EASY TESTS!!! Powerpoints everyday can get boring but if you attend class you'll do fine!
Awesome professor! I originally took this class with Grossman and he was TERRIBLE!!! I got a D so I retook it with Rebeck and did well. He is very clear on the concepts and is very helpful. His quizzes are simple and the tests are not bad at all! Everything is clear and he actually makes sure that everyone understands everything. TAKE HIM FOR 206!
Prof. Rebeck is excellent! His tests are very fair and he is very efficient in teaching the material. I would definately recommend him! PS. study the MEL assignments thoroughly for the tests, it will help!
Great professor! Attendance isn't mandatory but wouldn't suggest skipping. Gives a lot of in-class assignments. Cares more about your grade if you come to class. Wants everyone to do well.
This guy loves Economics. His passion towards the subject makes it easy to learn. He wants to make sure students understand the theory behind what we're doing, rather than just plugging in numbers. I would recommend KR to anyone looking to take 406. His tests are very similar to questions out of MEL. I learned a ton in this course.
No one every said this class was going to be easy and it sure was tough but he really does everything possible to ensure that you know what is going on. he is very thorough. Lets just say after taking a class with Banian, Rebeck looks like the best prof ever!
Rebeck is awesome!Very approachable, wants you to do well! I went to his office for help, and he really explained everything perfectly to me. I am now minoring in Econ because of him!! LOVE THIS PROF!! TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
Very passionate about the subject. If you really want to learn the material, take this prof. Attendance not mandatory but gives lots of in-class assignments that you cannot make up. Overall, a great prof.
This teacher is truly helpful and explains difficult concepts very well. He doesn't give grades away, so you NEED to study for the exams, but he is a fair grader. He does give in class assignments randomly, so you kinda need to be there. He's an awesome teacher and very passionate about microeconomics! Take him!
Love him!!! He is so passionate and really cares if you understand everything. Encourages you to go to his office and chat. Class has difficult concepts, but he does everything he can to have you understand. Pretty hard tests, but super easy in class assignments and homework. Just study and you'll do fine.
He has the best notes system ever! As long as you show up to class and pay attention you are golden.
talks waaay to fast about nothing. feels the need to describe every little fact which just fills your head with useless garbage. I manage to get an alright grade but I have always been exceptional at economics.
Notes and review have nothing to do with the exams. went to every class, always had A's in econ but got a C in his class. would not take him again.
He's an ok teacher, but he babbles on about nothing for most of the class. Goes into extensive detail for no reason. His tests are hard and the notes usually have nothing to do with the test.
Hard tests but easy homework and quizzes. Barely extra credit opportunities. he finally gave some at the end of semester but not much(2 pts max and extra credits of 5 pts or was it 10 depending on how well you did on the post-test)he acts like he cares but doesn't..
Amazing teacher. REALLY cares about his students success! If you care about economics or business take him!
He's got issues and would not ever take him again. I have too many examples to list on how he flips out literally over nothing. He will put you out in front of the class if you do anything he doesnt like including missing class while sick after emailing him saying so. He's a joke acts like hes teaching to 1st graders
He was a great professor. I went in to talk to him to review what I did wrong on the test, and he was very friendly! During office hours is the time to talk to profs. Tests were somewhat difficult, but the online quizzes were easy. Aplia rocks.
Irresponsibility on my part was the only reason I did not do well in his class. He is so clear and provides great examples and analogies to help students understand the material. If you have to take an econ course, take it with him if you can! He was great!!
Very clear on what he expects, exams are everything he goes over in class. Extremely kind and wants all his students to do great!
Tests were very fair, he is a good prof. he loves ECON it shows. He is very clear, assignments weren't difficult. Learned a lot, would reccomend him, and the course 442 Law and Econ, really interesting. Basically Game Theory applied to law.
Awesoe teacher, goes over everything very in depth and is easy to understand, love going to his class and really will teah yo everything you need to know for the test. HIGHLY recommend, if you cantae this class with him do it
very tough class. Lots of in class assignments that he gives you hardly any time for. Went to his office hours and was spoken to like I was a 3 year old child, But he is very passionate about his course. I would not take his course again.
This semester econometrics with Rebeck was a hybrid course. So, you watch lectures online and come to class for quizzes and time to work on problems. Rebeck is a great guy who's really passionate about economics and this really shows through in his classes. If you show interest, go to class, read the text, and watch the lectures you will do great
This professor is good. I had never even taken an Econ class before this, and I understood everything pretty well. As long as you attend class, you should do fine. He provides notes that you print out, bring to class and fill in. Gives random in class assignments, but you can work with others. Good professor!
If you showed up to class, not required but highly recommended, you should be able to understand the material. He prints off the notes for you,and does easy group random in class assignments. Make sure to study for the tests. Those who showed up to class received at least a B
extremely tough grader even for an ECON class. Screw up one thing and he will dock you for it very heavily. If you don't do well on his tests he will fail you and do so very quickly
I'm currently taking Econ class with this professor and to be honest I don't understand his lectures mainly because he talks way too fast. I won't recommend him to anyone at all
Very enthusiastic about economics. Talks fast and tries to get a lot done in one class. random In-class assignments that is for participation points. Exams are tough. Tutor or study buddy recommended.
Dr. Rebeck is one of my all time favorites! He really cares about his students and their learning. Excellent and fair professor, go to class and you should do pretty well! Doesn't assign a lot of homework which is also nice!
He is the best professor one could ever get. The concepts of economics have never been more clear and he is clearly very into what he teaches. Need to be attentive and a bit of hard work required.
He is an amazing professor! The only attendance is group projects that are really easy! He is also very thorough in his explanations. Tests are moderate. If you study, it will be an easy A. My favorite professor so far out of any class I have taken!
Class is not easy if you don't put in work. He talks too fast $ he tries to get a lot done in one class period (need to print out a lot of notes). A lot of random class assignments. Aplia assignment are hard. The Exams are harder. No extra credit opportunities. May the gods forever be in your favor if you decide to take this class.
He's a teacher who knows his stuff. He knows his subjects and his students. He many start out easy but the course does get more difficult over time and reading the text does help and going to every class keeps you in the loop of what's going on. It's a class that makes you work but it's worth the effort.
His lectures were easy to understand. He also gives you most of your notes he does a fill in the blank style where you have them printed and ready to go for class. Honestly if you show up and listen and participate you wont have to read the book. His tests are all about things he explains in class.
Loved Mr. Rebeck in ECON206, one of my all time favorites. He does talk fast, but gives you everything you need to know in lecture and on his power points. If you show up to class you will do fine. Very funny guy, and gives great examples to help you understand the material. Can't say enough good things about him!
He's amazing! I bought the text book but never touched it! Just come to class! He has notes online with fill in the blanks, print those notes and bring them to class! Do the online practice and quizzes, it will help you a lot! Don't miss class, he'll give you 5 extra credit! He likes to give random in class quizzes when not many people show up!
ECON 206 is not an easy class, Professor Rebeck understands that. He wants to see his students pass, so he always encourages to seek help from him. He is an awesome teacher, and is passionate about what he is teaching. Lectures are a huge part of passing tests, so you do want to show up. He will give random points for showing up as well!
Professor Rebeck cares about his students and really wants them to understand. He gets frustrated when students don't show up to class or go on their phones. His tests got more difficult as the class went on, but he gives a study guide for every test that cover most of the material.
He very clearly outlines what needs to be done for class, but I think he sometimes forgets about his online students. He fell behind on grading things throughout the semester and there's a lot of homework in this course. The reviews for the exams were helpful, but exams were still fairly difficult. He has good intentions, but its a tough course.
I am a student with a disability, and I am also registered with SDS. This professor knew everything when it came to me being registered, yet would not accommodate to my needs until I reached out to SDS and informed them of his behavior. There were three exams in our course, and the timeline on was not long enough at all for most students.
This class was fine overall, but sometimes it could be rather frustrating. I found out the 2nd week that this class wouldn't be as easy as I thought. He was fair and warned you of upcoming tests.
Extremely clear and concise lecturer, has clear expectations, and provides what you need to be successful in this class. He's an extremely straightforward professor and if you put in the effort you'll be successful and come away with a lot of great knowledge.
I took Principles of Microeconomics with Rebeck. He has notes online to print off and follow along with (I didn't use them, but if Econ is hard for you they're very helpful), only assigns a few Aplia assignments, has 3 MC tests and a few in class activities. Just show up and take notes and then you won't really need the book.
This course went well for me and as long as you show up and take solid notes you will pass. Make sure to do the online homework because if you dont do it, it isnt open to look back on for the test. There are three exams and graded online homework for each chapter. Rebeck cares a lot about what he teaches which makes it more interesting to learn.
Definitely the best econ teacher! You'll want to go to class because he creates outlines for his lectures that you need to fill out, if you do this then you don't need to worry about getting the book. He's funny in class and gives great examples that make the material easy to understand.
One of THE BEST teachers at St. Cloud. He is really passionate about what he teaches and makes sure you understand the material. He likes when you are engaged and show up to class. Highly recommend this prof!
I take this class online. Homework always due Thursday. I like this class so far but the thing that I HATE about this PROFESSOR is all the exams only 1 hrs for 50 questions. If he doesn't like your discussion post then no partial point at all.
I am not the best performing student in class but he is EXTREMELY a supportive person. I like how he challenges us to think critically. I enjoy his class a lot and he is also VERY empathetic.
pro: gets most work back to in week you can actually apply the stuff in class to life he knows his stuff con: can get scatterbrained doesnt go over old content often so you miss alot when you skip class basic math stuff(exponential growth) is key in this class. just write down your formulas on a notecard and review material. attendance is random
Amazing professor!! I took his micro class last semester and he is the absolute best! He will make sure the students understand the concept and he is always accessible after class or in office hours! He listen to his class and make sure the class is doing well!
By far my least favorite professor. You don't learn anything in his clas. Tells you "Google It' when you ask about what he just taught. He makes you do super long assignments each week that don't teach you anything except how to beat a deadline. Best advice: study hard for your tests and pray you don't fail.
Professor Rebeck is an amazing professor who explains very difficult concepts incredibly well. I don't think I would have nearly as well in this course without his well-integrated lectures and amazing review sections. If you take ECON206, take it with him.
Requires in-person exams, only grades off stat lab and exams so start studying for the exams. Otherwise, don't take him, acts like there's not enough time to explain concepts also comes off as rude. doesn't record review sessions. The only reason I got a bad grade was because of the in-person exams kinda odd for being in the middle of covid.
He did give a lot of work and makes you write the class notes but trust me the notes pay off. Got an A because I made those notes and went through them a day before test. He is extremely nice and if you're doing good in class, he will let you turn in assignment/test late if you have a good reason.
Great professor! He enjoys teaching the students outside the class and he teaches the materials really well!
I took this as an online class but the professor seems nice. You have to take notes on lecture videos each week and do my lab. There are three tests that are worth 100 points each so you have to do well on them to do well in class.
Hes amazing and a supportive person. 3 quizzes but I think of them as exams. Notes on lecture video will be submitted and graded each week. My lab homework.
He is one of the best professors in the Econ department! Learned a lot! His class was challenging but he's a great instructor. I would recommend taking a class with him if you aren't afraid of putting your econ skills to test.
You watched videos based on the textbook and turned in notes every week for points. One weekly assignment on Pearson. There were 3 quizzes/tests that make up most of your grade. For online, tests were proctored so make sure you have a computer or device that has a camera.
Doesnt post the lectures online is attendance is basically mandatory. Most of your grade is from 4 tests. The material is not difficult, and the professor does a good job explaining what is covered on the test.
His lectures are, by far, some of the best and most detailed lectures that I've ever watched. Weekly work was simple and easily fit into a routine. He's a bit of a stickler for tests(since there weren't many), but his policies are pretty fair comparatively. Overall, a pretty nice professor who teaches amazing asynchronous classes!
I really like the way Prof. Rebeck has you print out the templates for lecture notes before hand. It makes writing notes so much easier and more clear with all the graphs. The class had mylabs due every couple weeks and in class assignments most class periods. There are 5 exams, but you can use a notecard. He drops your worst exam grade.
Don't take class online. You spend about 1 and a half hours a week on the required notes(will give you a 0 if you miss a point on a single graph) and the homework. 3 tests (30 minutes each), but worth 67% of your grade total.
I took this class (Micro Econ) online as a high schooler without taking any prior Econ classes. His lectures were very clear and I never had to read the book. The only thing that made it hard was the very few quizzes which mean you have to do well on each of them, but as long as you take good notes and look over the homework you will be fine.
At first seemed very harsh on how to submit lecture notes but he does exactly what he says. About an hour of very helpful and good lectures each week and then around 20 MyLab HW questions. There are textbook pages to read but I never read them once and got an A. Overall very manageable and predictable class. Same routine each week.
I took microeconomics online with Kenneth Rebeck. The exceptions were clear and concise. The only negative was the quizzes. There are three quizzes worth about 67% of the overall grade and they are timed for only 30 minutes for 20 questions. All of the questions come from his lecture, but the tricky part is fully memorizing 4 units of lectures.
This class requires a lot of weekly work, but the tests are worth most of the grade. Using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can really help prepare for the quizzes. Take it in-person if possible, as the online version has strict proctoring requirements.
Don't take this class online if you get test anxiety! I've been struggling in this class and the professor is great, but the rules for taking a test are super strict. You must have your camera on and if you look away from the screen too much, you get points docked off. You also have to take a full set of notes every week and turn them in digitally.
This teacher is super picky on notes and test are fine
Lockdown tests that he personally watches over, if you look away from your screen at all, you will be required to come in person for testing. Notes you write need to look exactly like his slides, otherwise you will get docked ponts. Not overly personable. Difficult but not impossible, you will need to study!
