Not a hard class at all but it does help to come to class on a regular basis (oops!) Makes you think about your beliefs, very interesting class.

thinks his religion is the best (buddhism), wants everyone to become buddhist too, invited class to temple, weirdo.overall...very funny and made me mad at times as a firm Christian

He is VERY easy, interesting and enthusiastic. I really enjoyed this class. Basically teaches that every religion is okay but Christianity...and that we're ignorant and shouldn't have the right to vote. Overall, if you can ignore his psychotic laughter and Harvard talks...you should be fine.

Always talking to and with you never down to you, great teacher will help if you ask. Very enthusiastic not boring.

if you're a christian you may not want to take him. he's very offensive and talks down about them, goes off about social issues, pretty easy, attendence is a must & when is talking about subject pretty interesting, but if you are easily offended stay away! i think he is too educated for his own good

Intelligent man/ Frank and open discussions/if you find him offensive its because you are not as open minded as you think/does tend to rant about political issues/he treats each religion equally and notes its positive and negative aspects/has a unique and interesting life perspective

class was very interesting; however, he does tend to speak his mind about alot of things. so he might step on your toes just be careful what you say to him. this class is REALLY easy, i ended up with a really high A.

this guy is the best! I kno he reads this site tho bc he talked about his ratings on here once in class. He brings in very weird tangents into his lectures sometimes but somehow it works? His tests are pretty easy and straight foward. Did i mention i love this guy! :D oh, he mentions harvard a lot.

this was the easiest class I have ever attended. 2 of my friends and I went 7 times the enitre year!!! NO LIE!! One of them got a high high B because he accidently marked the wrong answers on a test, my other friend and I got high A's, mine was a 99.4 (i had like 3 100's and a 97). its awsome.

coolest professor at CNU.

Probably the easiest class I've had since middle school. He does not want you to to bad, so he makes it very simple and gives good test reviews. He's also helpful. He's extremely liberal though, and not afraid to wear it on his sleeve, but if you can bear that then this is a great class to take.

Easy, no attendance policy. Come for the reviews and you'll be fine but he's funny so go to class because it's fun. Explains things very well but goes off on tangents daily about Harvard or how horrible Christianity is. Teaches that very religion is fine but Christianity.

EASY A. no attendance policy. Review sessions are the last day you meet before the exam day. Exams are so easy, gotta study the notes to pass, but its so easy. TAKE HIM!

Extremely easy class, but I can honestly say I learned alot. His focus is more on teaching you than testing you, which I appreciated. Highly recommended class, you will learn alot and get a 4.0 to boost the GPA.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! He changed my life and I wish I wasn't so close to graduation otherwise I would take more classes with him. Hilarious man and a delight to take. Easy course as well if you go to class and read. Go to class, get to know him, learn, get an A. Everyone Wins!

Best professor of my 103 credit hours. A little distracted at times, but who isnt?

One of the best teachers i've ever had! Knows his stuff and is excited about his subject. Be prepared to disagree with him though. But on the whole he is an awesome teacher!

I love this class, he gives like a slide of notes and then just talks. Some people find this boring, I find that it is the best way to learn. I love his class cause he knows his stuff, but he is so exciting and funny that he keeps you entertained even if he is rambling... ps I am ACING his class

Easy class, goes over Power Points and gives you side information which is very interesting. Knows his subject very well and is very passionate about it. Does tend to get slightly sidetracked sometimes, and makes his opinon well known. Hear a lot about his education-Bob Jones and Harvard- and his childhood. Good guy though

I just do not like this guy. He is to ego-manical for me. And it does effect his teaching. He just shows slides, talks, and thats it. Tests are simple, its hard not to do well. The hard thing is listening to his asides about how dumb religion is and his annoying laugh.

Overall his class is easier than any class I have taken in high school. He does not believe in God so if you are a Christian he will debate against you and try to get you to worship the buddha.

This guy is a trip. He talks a lot about how silly religion is and how the South is full of Baptists. His German wife will come up often, and he always laughs at his own jokes, just in case nobody else will.

Being a Masters Student in Computer Science and Applied physics this class was a Breeze. Not only is Professor Rose Entertaining he is overall a great professor. Tests were straight forward out of the lecture. I highly recommend him for any class.

class is interesting but studying and going to class is essential. the ideas taught seem extreme at first, but overall very enlightening if you go with an open mind...prof. rose,(since i know your reading this), i don't mind hearing about harvard or your german wife, but I think you should tell more stories of your experiences

easiest class ever. all you need is a pulse. all test material is from powerpoint in class. four tests and one extra credit paper. tests are 40 or 50 multiple chocie questions. doesnt take attendance.

This class was super easy, and Rose is hilarious. Some people think his laugh is obnoxious but it cracks me up! But yea, the class is a breeze as long as you take the notes (light notes in this class) and study (not a lot of studying needed to pass). You're guaranteed an easy A and a good time with Rose! :)

soo funny! really nice guy-the tests are straight from the notes...class can kind of get boring sometimes but he tries to keep it interesting.. I wouldn't take it with anyone else :)

Absolutely one of my favorite professors. I look forward to his class every week -- he puts a marvelous amount of thought into his classes, from the inexpensive, beautifully written, and picture-laden text to his clean powerpoint lectures. It's an incredible gift to have a prof like Dr. Rose at CNU, a prof with so much scholarship and personal exp!

Have taken 5 classes with him, awesome professor. He really makes you think about different religions. The exams are easy and straight-forward. Go to class, take notes, and actually learn something that's interesting and thought provoking.

Great guy. Happiest guy I've ever met. Most important things to know- his wife is German, he has Ivy League degrees, and has been all over the world. Has a very slight case of masked arrogance, but it's all good. 1 Paper, 10-15 pages. Course lectures get old sometimes, but you will learn how to write and you'll make itj ust fine. Dr. Rose rocks!

GREAT CLASS. he gives you a study guide before each test and tells you exactly what you need to know. if you have the notes (attendence not mandatory)from you or someone else, study them, then youll do fine. he also allows extra credit. id recommend

Dr. Rose is the man! His class is pretty easy as well as interesting. He talks about his life alot in class but he's hilarious! If you have to take a religion class definitely take it with him!

I love Dr. Rose! Give him hot chocolate and see what happens--he goes nuts. We did yoga in class. He has amazing stories, and wants to hear your perspective on everything you learn. He really communicates in class, and explains far out ideas with great clarity. Take his class!

I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR! He is great! Take one of his courses! He is so helpful to all of the students and really wants you to succeed. He tries so hard to be funny and livens up the class making it really interesting and his tangents are also quite interesting. I recommend any of his courses! You will love him!!!

Take this class! He is a really great professor! very nice and tries to make religion interesting and tries really hard to be funny. His tests are easy IF you study and other than that the class is great and i recommend it!

This prof. really knows his stuff and is really enthusiastic about it. The class is not hard as long as you study and he gives you all the info you need in class. He makes the material interesting for you and makes you think more broadly. i recommend this class.

He is much better in upper level classes. In 211 he is crazy but I learned a lot more in his 350 class.

This man is an intelligent maniac who knows what he's talking about. Although he states that he doesn't want to "indoctrinate" you, it nonetheless comes out in his teachings because he's so passionate about religion and his beliefs. Take this class if you really want to learn

Interesting class but too much focus on Hinduism. Can be redundant at times but extremely interesting if you are interested in religious mysticism. If you like Rose, take this class for the heck of it

Awesome professor! I would love to take more classes with him! He really tries to make the class fun and interesting. He really cares about the students too. If you come to class, study the notes he gives you then you will do well! I recommend him to anyone!! VERY interesting classs!

All four of his exams are online. Very easy if you actually go to class and take decent notes. I brought my laptop to class to keep me entertained but half the time I was more entertained by Rose's antics. Oh, and he went to Harvard, has a German wife and wants you to be Hindu.

Dr. Rose will do anything to blunt the edge of religious fundamentalism. He has a top-notch degree, stays current in his field of study, and is extremely well-read. If you want to know how "Religion" works, then Rose is your man.

When I first went to his class, I was hesitant because of what my sister told me about him from her experience with him 7 years ago. She said he kick a bible across the room. I was worried about this, having gone to catholic school for 13 years. However, he is not like this now. He is a most entertaining and clear teacher, despite his rants.

He is a great teacher. Exams are no longer online but they are literally questions straight from his slideshows. A lot of memorizing but he gives curves and will do anything to help you do well on the exams. No out of class homework other than a couple interesting readings. Overall a GREAT professor

Rose is an excellent professor. Though often opinionated, you can learn a lt from him. Class is an easy A as long as you don't suck, because you pretty much just have to write one good paper (10 pgs.). And oh yeah, show up to class. If too many people miss, you'll piss him off, and it's very uncomfortable seeing him mad.

Such an AMAZING professor. His teaching style is definitely unique but very interesting. Makes you look at religion from a broader perspective by the end of the class. Grading isn't a huge deal to him. He's more interested in his students actually absorbing the information. You do not have to show up to class but you'll find yourself wanting to go.

You will learn more about random things in his classes than you will about religion or the course topic, but he makes it interesting. Take a class with him if you want to take a class just for fun because he will entertain you. Tests are not hard at all. Just take notes, repeat exactly what he says, study and your fine.

Dr. Rose is a great professor. He does not have a textbook but several scholarly texts that we read from every week. Main grade is a paper, some short in-class assignments, and at-home movies that require a response. Cares more about absorption and learning than grades. Very willing to help you develop your ideas inside and outside of class

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Rose. He's seen the world and is very knowledgeable about his field of work. Going into his class with an open mind is my best advice.

KRose is so knowledgeable about religions and he has such an upbeat attitude and passion when he teaches in each class. You don't actually have to go to pass but it's so enjoyable to be there that I never missed a class. Divine information coming from such an experienced and open individual. 100% recommend him as a professor.

I loved this professor. His Mindfulness, Meditation, and Thought was wonderful. Although a little messy at times, I think I learned more in this class than I have in the past two years here on campus. So long as you go to class with an open mind and have read the books, you'll love him and the class!!

He is a great professor, but loves to talk about religions and not just what is going to be on the test (so its easier to pay attention if you are actually interested). Tests are pretty easy if you study and am able to answer the questions on the study guide. Overall: I suggest only taking this class if interested in religions, or you'll get bored.

Professor Rose is hands down my favorite professor at CNU. He is so passionate about what he teaches and genuinely cares about his students. As long as you're at least somewhat interested in the course, his lectures are really engaging. Plus he makes study guides for every test so they're really easy and straightforward as long as you study.

Dr. Rose is one of the best professors at CNU. He is funny and passionate about what he teaches. He shared his knowledge and life experience to relate it to the class. He made the class fun and was very pleasant to deal with.

Rose is great and most people didn't even show up to class and are passing. He tests you only on what he covers on the powerpoint and that isn't too hard either.

You could never attend class and still get an A. Dr. Rose is hilarious and such a great guy, but lectures are boring and repetitive. The only material covered in the test are what is in his powerpoints which he emails you at the end of the week. It has been refreshing to have a professor who cares more about you learning, than giving grades.

Dr. Rose is a wonderful professor. You will enjoy this class if you approach it with genuine interest for the material. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone with more experience in the field.

So. I took religions of the East with this professor, and it was fine. He goes down so many rabbit trails that everyone writes papers for other classes during his class. It was an easy A class, so for that I say he's an overall good-ish teacher but it left much to be desired. I was excited to learn and I can't say that I did.
