He is a awesome professor and I want him again
he is an easy teacher but he talks about unrelated topics waaaay to much, like his family and his music store.
Is it me or does his suits seem to fit him a bit too big? Maybe he's still waiting to grow into them.
He grades too hard and he spends too much time talking about his family.

Professor Rourke is a horrible professor. He likes to humiliate people and put them on the spot. He subtely tells people in his classes who failed the tests and who did a good job. He claims hes there to help people but is unwilling to stay late to help.
Prof Rourke Is smart as a whip, however he gives you tests that have little to d with what he talked about in class, he dress's like an idiot, and makes fun of the coke bottle glass's guy too much as well as New Kids on the Block however if you dont have ADHD and are a god lisener you'll do fine NP
Professor Rourke is one of those teachers that is involved with his classes and seems to love what he is doing. This is the fastest 55min class i have ever sat through and enjoyed! I would recommend him above all others in this field.
This guy knows what he's talking about. Sit up front and take notes, and you have an easy A.
he's a great, honest person... tests are a little difficult. goes on tangents about enron (which gets old-- quickly) but is a great professor. very interested in helping students-- and he's pretty cute... for a guy in his late 40's.

He is a really great professor.....if you pay attention you will learn a lot and get an A...I've learned the most from this professor then any other professor at JWU. He knows what he is talking about...really nice guy...the class is not a joke though, you have to pay attention and try...great professor...always remember your book!
goes way too fast, talks about the same things ei his family and music store waaay too much. He talks very fast and writes all over the board in no logical order, not to mention the stories throw me off completely. If you like nervous anxiety, take this class

He dropped me the day before the hospital upon absence number 3. I had an A in the class up until that day. He also never recorded my PT grade so now not only am I stuck taking the class over but I have to do the same 20-page PT project all over again. Not to mention sitting through his class is HELL. He's got ADD like you wouldn't believe.

Prof. Rourke is a great professor. He speaks fast but is understandable as long as your read the textbook before and after classes. His class is not that easy but u can still get A if u spend some time on it. He loves to help students on their study and future career. As a reminder, NO EASY "A" in his class!!!
Overall, he is a good teacher. He gives students plenty of opportunities to get extra credit. He also scales his exams (first exam, 11 points, second exam, 12 points!!!)
This teacher is hard but gives you alot of extra credit opportunities to bring your grade up and if you make an effort & take advantage of that it really pays off.His handwriting is TERRIBLE and that really sucks when it comes to econ cus theirs so many charts and his classes are soooo boring probably the hardest class ive had to sit threw in jwu
This guy is a complete joke. Doesn't know 1/2 of what hes teaching, grading is horrible, this is the second and last class I will take with him. If you like dull and uneducated, try this one for size.
He is a nice guy, but a lousy teacher, speaks way to fast blames the people i the class for the economy being crap, and seems to derive pleasure and an I told you so attitude from people doing poorly on tests, saying you should have studied harder. Progress is slow and painful, often taking 2 weeks of classes to go over one home work assignment.
He has a habit of repeating himself a lot and people think he is hard. However, all of his exams and quizzes are worth 110 pts and he tells you everything that is going to be on them.
He talks more about himself than economics. If his favorite ice cream flavor was on the test i would have gotten alll As.
I suggest not to take him! He's a nice guy but his quizzes and tests are very hard! He lectures way to fast! He has no consistency in his lectures! He rambles on for the whole two hours! I had him for Macro and Micro. He makes those classes much harder than they are!
Prof. Rourke is unorganized. Very hard to follow along and understand his lectures! Nice guy, but sadly can't teach. If you want to have anziety and leave confused every class by all means take him! Talks way to much about his family, music store and New Kids on the Block! His teests are so hard! Take his extra credit opportunities!

Professor Rourke is an awful teacher. He never teaches and gives WAY to much hw. He goes on rants about random unuseful things. His class is so boring and never EVER lets you out early. He is unorganized. I wish someone would have told me NOT TO TAKE HIM
tests are way to hard and he teaches you after you fail the test inside of teaching you and giving you time to study
Uninteresting class for many people, but he does his best. I would defininatly take him again if I could because he teaches you a lot even though its a tough subject
he puts people on the spot way too much if ppl dont have money for the book and points out the students who do bad on the tests. VERY disrespectful. let ppl do what they want in the class. dont call ppl out. very insulting
Macro is a confusing subject all around. But I think he does a great job teaching it. He gives a fair amount of homework & tests are fair IF YOU STUDY. He is very helpful if you are confused about something. He appreciates those who attend class regularly and ON TIME. Take advantage of his extra credit, too. I will definitely be taking him again!
Taking him was the worst decision i ever made for micro. He was so rude to me in class cause I did not understand a question and also because I asked him to go back on a powerpoint. NEEDS MAJOR ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!!! Do not take him!
He is a great professor.very biased and opinionated.can be degrating to students who slack off, dont show up to class, and fool around. pay attention you will get an A. Explains everything very well several times until you get it,reviews before quizzes. Tests,quizzes are all multiple choice,usually worth over 100 points,Read textbook chapters!
Awful class. This is the worst professor I have ever had. He makes no sense and the tests do not reflect material taught. He loves to single people out during class and talks way to fast! Do not take him.
Very thorough, clearly knows his stuff, and teaches a clear manner. Love the way he uses "dollars" to entice participation in exchange for points. it makes the class very interactive.
Terrible teacher... i would not take his classs again. Nice nice nice guy, tries hard but not a great teacher... gives the most dfficut tests, but he knows his stuff. Gives tons of extra credit! you have to attend ever class though, he is strict about attendance.
let's put it this way. you have a quiz every other class (whether he is done going over the material or not) he grades the home (like he corrects it, not just checks it) and he gives you like 10 really hard questions to do in one night, you hand them in and he doesnt hand them back until AFTER you have taken the test, WHO DOES THAT HELP?! honestly!
To put it lightly, this professor is beyond awful. The class average on our first test was a 62 (after scaling). I'm sure that speaks for itself. Stay away from this professor!
Terrible Teacher. Tells Personal Stories over and over again. Grades homework very hard. Quizes are very easy. But tests are hard. One the two test of the year my class average was a 61 and a 68. He scales them 6 points if your lucky. Does let you do a lot of extra credit though to add up to 12 pts on every exam including the final
Don't listen to these people, he is awesome. He gives out extra credit, coupon thingys that are useful, hes funny though too. The class isn't that hard, he explains everything, he does jeapordy too! I'm taking him again for Micro!
Might be one of the best Professors I have ever had at JWU. He is extremely clear and consistent. He isn't the easiest Professor, but he will answer any and every question you may have. I would definitely recommend him.
An wonderful professor! He made this class fascinating. He's is very willing to help you and he does an excellent job of covering the material. He is entertaining and his teaching method helps the material stick. It is a hard subject but he is very fair and he teaches the information you will need for the tests. More professors should be like him.
Gives out extra credit Rourke Dollers for bonus points on test. Homework questions are easy A's Test are VERY HARD, Study ,study and memerize. Bad stuff:Turns stuff back to you WAY LATE. Prmoises and prmoises about giving back homework then lectures us on how we are undepandable,lazy students. Boring, pointless stories often!

Very Nice professor but TALKS YOUR EAR OFF!!! To do well in his class you must NEVER NEVER skip any of his classes not even one and to participate!! If you do that you're guaranteed passing HOWEVER, tests are VERY hard but gives easy quizzes regularly!Nice professor
Amazing professor- extremely helpful. The book and study guide is a must, but totally worth it. He really gets to know his students and will actually know your name during the term.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! He is rude,teaches/talks way to fast and has no order to his teaching and has no order to writing on the board to the point u have trouble taking notes. He insults students and points them out infront of the class for being absent, leaving early or doing bad on a test. Also he talks to much about the same unrelated topics.
Worst professor I've had. He talks about things in class that don't relate to class. He rambles on about things and says the same thing dozens of time a class. Tests are SO hard. Don't take him if you don't have to! Hated that class so much! He also puts students on the spot in class. Not always in a nice way either. Do NOT text in class either!!!
Really nice guy, but not a good professor. Notes/his thoughts are all over the place in class, very hard to keep up with. Not afraid to call you out for absences/leaving early/being late/not doing well on his tests. His tests are absurdly hard. His "dollar" extra credits are somewhat helpful. Overall, would not recommend him.
He is an awful professor. Literally the worst professor i've ever had. He is so rude and not understanding of any life issues at all. His thoughts are all over the place, he never stays on track. His lectures are so long and so boring. Nice guy but not a professor.
Professor Rourke does not communicate effectively in his lectures. He talks incredibly fast, jumps topics nearly every 3 sentences, and repeats himself with information that is often irrelevant to the topic at hand. It is frustrating to follow his lectures because they are so confusing. If at all possible, do not take this professor.
I had prof Rourke fall Tri and His powerpoints are so clear but his lectures are long, &he gives you the information you need for tests&quizzes that he repeats. Gives hw but tells all the answers before its due, and gives you a cheat sheet for the final. Just study and go to class and you'll get a B or an A, you have to work for it.
Want to know how I really feel? I hate him more than you can possibly imagine. I would rather get lost in the pacific ocean than take him or his classes ever ever EVER again. Everyone in the class leaves at least once because of how annoying he is.
Talks a lot but means well. Will help you if you need, only if you show the effort. Don't skip any classes, everything in this class counts. Quizzes every week.
Not a bad teacher, you will actually learn about the economy in this class. He gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities, he calls them O' Rourke Dollars. Just by answering questions in class, or going to tutoring, you will get extra credit. The book is a MUST! 1st Test is open book and he drops your lowest test score & Weekly Quiz score.
Probably the best Econ Professor, he is easy to understand but makes you work for the grade and pay attention, no phones. and no computers unless you ask for permission. He gives you everything you need to get an A but you need to study and apply yourself, he makes having him at 7:10 bearable. Macro is hard but he makes it as do-able as possible.
he is a good teacher but just constantly repeats himself and just talks about himself and gets off topic very easily, he is also super annoying and doesn't let you have drinks or use your computer
Professor Rourke is a very nice man, but if economics isn't you're thing I would steer clear of his class. He lectures constantly and his tests are super difficult which makes it hard to do well in his class since they're so heavily weighted. He does offer a lot of extra credit opportunities though. He really does want his students to perform well.
Prof Rourke was my favorite. He is seriously entertaining. I would like to come out and say that all of these other reviews are BS. He is a nice, caring man. He tries to engage the students. The quizzes are so easy if you buy the study guide because that's where he gets all the questions. He tells you the questions he's gonna ask so GO TO CLASS!!!!
One of my favorite professors here at JWU, he is very enthusiastic and makes a boring course... less boring. if you don't go to class you will find the course difficult, but if you do go to class and study off his power points it is easy.

He is a nice guy and means well. He talks about her personal life way too much and we never got to half of the lessons we were supposed to because he gets off topic way too much. I also was told that he would give me extra credit for assignments but he never put any of those points in. He never emails back and takes forever to put in grades.
He's a good professor and does give you a lot of opportunities to pass but he talks about he's personal life too much. He does relate it back to the topic we were discussing in class but its too over bearing sometimes. He using a lot of real world examples to help better understand the course from that perspective. Overall he's decent but beware.
Worst educational experience in my life. I would read the book, not understand the material. He would teach us for 30 minutes allowing Q&A, immediately followed by a test. No time to grasp the material. Makes himself available, allows extra credit, etc. I believe he cares, but needs to change his style, or people will continue to fail.

I think he means well but I also think he needs to retire. He rambles on and on and we barely get anything done in class. He gets off topic and wastes too much time. Very redundant and overbearing. Somedays I can't listen to him. If you try he will help but it's brutal getting through his lectures sometimes.

You will basically end up teaching yourself the material and you're better off not taking him.
Rourke is a nice guy... He just needs to learn how to teach people better. For every quiz/test our class average was in the 60's. If he asks for a definition on a test, make sure you know it word for word. He will take a word out or switch the word to trip you up. Perfect attendance adds an extra point to your final grade, so does participation.
Professor Rourke is very passionate about the subject BUT he doesn't seem to know how to teach it as he spends 75% of class time explaining to us how great of a person he thinks he is and talking about his past. Frankly, at 7:10am I couldn't care less about his past I just wanted to learn economics and pass the course.
Very passionate about economics and I'm sure is a nice man but is ALWAYS off topic! He only talks about his family and cars the entire class and then its our fault when we don't understand a topic. Would not take him!
Overall, he is a very nice man and I think he means well when it comes to his students. He very often wouldnt be on subject and ends up rambling about unrelated topics. For someone like who struggles with math, it was almost impossible for me to understand anything he taught and luckily ended the class with a low D.
Rourke is the best economics professor at JWU! He talks about his personal life because he is VERY successful, and knows exactly how to MAKE MONEY. He teaches economics relating it to everything from retail to pollution to politics and genuinely wants his students to use his knowledge to become successful themselves. Offers TONS of extra credit!
went in not wanting to take macro. hes the best prof. Very caring and wants you to learn and succeed. Gives practices quizzes for multiple attempts and actual quizzes based off those. Gives a lot of chances for extra credit. You can talk to him easily about the course and he is very interactive. He does get off topic a lot but relates
nice guy but aawful professor his practice quizzes are extremely helpful and probably the only reason I passed but he sucks at teaching he teaches too fast and the board is illegible literally everyone in class was annoyed that he talks about random things for 90% of the class so we never got anything done which felt like a waste of time to show up
The best professor I have ever had. Hands down. The fact that he does not have a better average truly shocks me! Extremely understanding, went out of his way to help multiple times. Show up and listen, you will pass.
So I took Prof. Rourke this semester online. He is an extremely nice guy and he knows what he is talking about. But I have to say he has the potential to be good but he takes up most of the class time talking about the same thing. We could've got so much more done if he just did not ramble. If it weren't for that, it would have been a better class
Good professor. Not much hw at all. Quiz each week. Rambles a lot, if you have adhd don't take him or you won't be able to follow. Helps you understand. Gives extra credit and good study guides the same as the tests. Need to attend class cuz he covers a lot and literally always takes up all class. Take him 4 easy A but not if there's better option.

He has a kind heart & is a good guy, but taking an online class with him was like paying to watch Youtube videos. Quizzes are made to be tricky, so beware...
So he is an all around horrible professor. He does not know how to teach people with ADHD. He goes off on tangents left and right. He always keeps forcing his political beliefs on you. Also he grades participation, but yet only calls on a very small group of people. Avoid him at all costs.
