Great teacher with great insights and very grading. TAKE HIM!!!
Never bothered to really TEACH; mainly read from the PowerPoints. Information scattered among 200+ slides for us to figure out what info would be presented on 50-question exam. Exams had NOTHING to do with the text. Just hope you have a good TA, because that's the ONLY person you'll have communication with.
He thinks students find 500 powerpoints interesting to look at and study from. He does not care for your questions or opinions relating to the way he has set up the class. You must be a WebCT genius to stay on top of his class. He has many online assignments and only 2, 50 question exams if you don't include an optional final.
He is BORING! All he does in class is read off of powerpoints (33+ pages per chapter), he gives 2 tests (& an optional final) that are worth 300 points and are rediculously hard! If you dont do the discussion posts & quizzes online you will fail. He doesn't help you; he wont even communicate with you. He's a terrible teacher! DONT TAKE HIS CLASS!
First off he makes his TA do everything and she barely speaks english and when you email you she answers everything but what you ask. The final is comprehensive meaning chpts 1-15 and it is optional but his first 2 test have atleast 9 chapters covered on them, dont study the book for tests, the book is only for the online quizzes. go to class.
By far the worst teacher I've had while attending UNT. He was completely unhelpful to the point of rudeness. Absolutely horrid. Avoid at all costs. Take Sager.
I don't know what everyone else is talking about. This is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken at UNT. I never went and still made an "a." You have to do discussions where you pretty much ramble on and make a 100. Tests aren't terrible, just read over the material and his powerpoints. Very simple, I wish every class was such an easy "a.
This is one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever taken. If you pay attention in class, do all the online activities, and do all the discussions, then you'll have no problem making at least a "B".
Good professor i dont know why people slam him so hard. hes a military man so hes no nonsense. ive had many professors worse than him. also, alot of the stuff you learn in his class carries over. in a class of over 300 students its hard to be personal, so i dont blame him for the slides.
He knows what he is talking about, but lectures can get a little dull. Grades depend heavily on the online quizzes on BB so do good on those and take the concept checks before the exams and you should do well!
If you go to class and listen to the lectures, this is a very easy A. Use the "concept checks" on Blackbaord to study for the exams. He gives a lot of extra credit, too. It's pretty hard to get to know him in a class with 350 students, but I liked him overall.
Really easy class if you put a little effort in. Make sure you do all the chapter quizzes online because they boost your grade a lot. There are 2 in-class exams and an extra credit exam. Do the concept checks because half the exam questions are straight from that. Writing assignments are pretty much completion grades, Optional final. Easy A
He was easy, do ALL the homework and you will be fine, you really don't even need to show up to class and can still make an A. It's a entry level Marketing class so it's a big class.
No laptops allowed. I love my laptop in class, but beware he does not allow laptops and he can spot them even in the lyceum. Easy class, two exams that are pretty easy, optional final, lots of extra credit, online quizzes over every chapter in the textbook though can get annoying, few other assignments, can print slideshow. Good teacher.
I took this class online & enjoyed it because I enjoy marketing but the assigments were not easy & made you think critically. This course is case study-heavy w/ multiple choice quizzes; I took a similar undergrad course that used the same books; so I was familiar with the procedures. Also 2 group assignments; Do all work & study & u can get an A.

I think he spends most of his time trying to come up with the most difficult questions on the exams that is possible. You might want to think about taking another professor.
His classes are extremely boring and he only lectures from powerpoints. almost every week there are 4 online chapter quizzes that are 30 questions each and are a pain in the ass. He gives a lot of extra credit though
I made an A on this class. If you go to class and take notes from powerpoints you will do just fine on exam. Plus, he gives Sample Exam Questions. Online Quizzes are not that bad b/c you have enough time to look through the book to find answers. OK Class overall.
You have a total of 22 online quizzes and 2 case studies, but they are fairly easy. There are only two tests, which cover about 8 chapters each. I made a 75 on the first one, and had a C going into the final week of class. He gives a ton of extra credit though, and I ended up with a final grade of around 94 in the class.
The requirements for this class are ridiculous. For an online class, I spend literally 10-12 hours dedicated to this class a week. The quizzes are not clear and I feel like I am getting nothing from the class.
If like being treated like you're in high school, sign up for this guy. The majority of your grade comes from 2-3 online quizes... per week. Dont forget to call him "Doctor" or "Professor" or you wont get a response, no matter how important it is, and even though he doesn't read the emails, his TA does (who isn't a dr...)
Pretty good teacher in my opinion. He allowed laptops this semester as long as you sat in the very fromt row. There are 22 online quizzes that you read the book at home for. The book is not used at all in class. He teaches straight from powerpoints but I don't think he's boring about it. Uses a lot of funny commercials for examples.
Best option for MKTG 3650. Very easy A. Test are made straight from review questions which are posted online. Don't have to attend class often. Tons of extra credit opportunity
EASY! Easiest class I have taken at UNT. Gives TONS of extra credit over the semester. It would be very difficult to not get an A in the class with minimum effort. Test are very easy and come straight from online sample test questions. Barely went to class and got A.
I took this as an online course. If you read the chapter, the quiz questions are easy. If you know basic algebra and can write, the cases are not that bad. The professor is pretty blunt and not sure I'd want to take him in a face to face course, but it's a good class if you read a lot.
Took this class in person..Great teacher! Very helpful. As long as you try you should do well in this class. Would gladly take a class with him again.

Pretty easy and interesting class. Thompson gives a bunch of extra credit opportunities and he also grades every test on a curve. There is a lot of busy work for homework though. I wish he taught upper level classes, I'd definitely take him again!
Very easy ... Attendance isn't mandatory but you may want to go when he has guest speakers some of their info are on test ... Concept checks are really easy if you buy the book ... All the test questions are from the concept checks he puts on BB
Easy class, as long as you go to class and do the godawful online homework you should be fine. Be prepared to constantly hear all about his ex-wife in between lectures.
I didn't even bother going to class after the first few lectures because he is just soooooo boring. I got an A because I kept up with the homework and read his powerpoints online. Definitely do the concept checks because the test questions are exactly like those. This class is an easy A, but a total snoozefest.
Very interesting class. I went to about half the classes and barley got a B in the class but made 100s on all connect assignments and C's on all tests but F on the first. STUDY CONCEPT CHECKS! Easy A if you just go and listen and make B's on tests. There are only 3 tests total. I downloaded the learn smart app and did them when I was bored.
Definitely take Dr. Thompson if you can get a seat in his class! Best marketing prof at UNT. He knows the subject and makes it interesting with all the psychology explanation and the fun commercial examples. Do all of the homework and study the concept checks like crazy and you should have it made for exams. He also gives a little extra credit!!
Definitely take Dr. Thompson if you can. Best prof for 3650! Wish he taught the other MKTG course I need! Homework is tedious but not hard & a good review of the chapter. Dr. Thompson brings energy to the lecture & combines concepts with commercials & examples that make it stick. Also explains some of the psychology and gives test concept checks!!!
Overall easy class as long as you keep up with the time consuming homework. You'll learn quite a bit by attending but attendance is not mandatory unless you want an A or B because he goes over a lot of exam content in class lectures.

At the beginning of the 5w course, I thought I was going to fail. However, once you start the cases and get what he is looking for it's a lot of work but it's relatively simple. He makes it sound like he's extremely picky and a very tough grader but my case grades were relatively good. The exams are extremely easy, so that helps and participation.
Easy A or B if you study and do the concept checks that he posts online. Attendance is not mandatory, but go when speakers come for exam material. Make sure to do homework assignments, and he gives TONS of extra credit.
Easy A if you show up to class and halfway pay attention. Assigns a "connect," assignment for each chapter, those are easy but time consuming. Tests are directly from lecture "concept checks," and the online "concept checks," he posts. You will get called out if you have any kind of electronic device in his class. Class is enjoyable. Dont buy book!
3 Tests no cumulative final, connect learnsmart homeworks, and assigns a lot of extra credit. Go to class he assigns extra credit in class and gives you a code for it. Print out the PPTs and study his concept checks for the test and you should get an A. Concept checks account for 75% of his tests, so study them! Easy A, would take him again!
His lectures tend to not be organized very well. He likes to assign a lot of these online readingquestion assignments, make sure you do them ahead of time, because once your'e behind it takes a lot to catch back up. Also, he is very angry and stuck in his ways. Don't textsleepget up in class. He will make a huge deal out of it.
Took this online over the summer. If you keep up with the readings, exercises, and marketing my numbers assignments it isn't difficult. After I got through the 1st half of the class & got used to the math involved, I started to appreciate the easiness of the course. You do have to check into the course almost everyday for announcements.
Thompson was a very intellegent professor and I learned a lot, but his lectures were very long and boring! Tests were straight from the concept checks he gave and make sure to go to class so you can get access to tons of extra credit and the attendance checks he does!
If you can't get an A in this course then you shouldn't be pursuing higher education. Easy homework, very generous curves on tests, plenty of extra credit. Posts 'concept checks' on blackboard that are basically just all of the questions that will be on the test.
is hard class, alot of reading, lots of information, he goes very fast on lectures sometimes makes me feel likes hes cramming as much possible in lectures. you most read or you wont pass, also you most go to class. tests are not hard is just the wording that makes it hard. good thing is theres lots of extra credit opportunities to improve your grad
Learn the concept checks and you'll pass the exams no problem. Going to class doesn't help you learn much, but you need to go for random attendance checks. Also many of the extra credit assignments require a psswd. that he only gives out to people in class. No book needed.
Tests were kinda hard, make sure you do the concept checks over and over again. Simulations are necessary to pass, you have to do 15 of them. Attendance checks almost once a week so be aware of those. 3 tests and no quizzes. Gives lots of extra credit and it's very simple.
Easy quizzes, LOTS of math, a lot of case reports that require the use of the math (quantitative analysis). Strict guy, but reasonable. It's not a blow off course, but it isn't difficult to make a B or even an A in.
Talk about feeling like your class is the most important thing known to man. Thankfully I took this class on its own with no other class so I was able to devote large amounts of the week to asinine assignments and lack of organization and spelling. Don't expect things from your students you can't do yourself.
I wouldn't suggest this guy. There are multiple concept checks daily and if a majority gets the question wrong he wont explain it, he'll just keep going. The tests are crazy because they don't seem to be connected to any in class content directly. The only redeeming trait is all the extra credit he doles out. Attendance is random so you have to go.
Professor Thompson is so full of himself. Most of the lecture material was missed because he always inserts something about himself. Lectures are long, so it can be hard to follow. I rarely used the book. The tests can be difficult if you don't come to class and do the concept checks. On the plus side, he offers plenty of extra credit!!
Don't buy the book, you won't need it. It doesn't relate to the tests. Online simulations (homework) can be tedious, but not bad. Takes attendance so you should go for that alone. Memorize the concept checks and you'll do okay on tests. I got 3 C's on all tests and ended up with a B in the class because of the countless extra credit opportunities.
Professor Thompson is a great lecturer. His assignments can be slightly difficult, but you get two chances for each and the second attempt is the same as the first, so just fix all of your wrong answers. He offers so much extra credit. Do it and you might be able to skip the third exam and be exempt from the final. Easy tests if you do the concept.
If you go to class and get the attendance and extra credit points, there is more than enough to make up for the hard tests. Optional final.
- Professor Thompson was an awesome guy. 3 Tests and the final is optional. You need to go class. He dies random attendance checks which is worth AALOTTTT of points. Online h/w a breeze. Go to class random extra credit and ALOTT of it. I failed all 3 tests... And still passed with a B cause of xtra credit. Boring. But he helps you passsss!
Do the Extra Credit! I made all C's on all 3 exams and still got an A. Don't wait till last minute to do the Marketing Labs. Study all the concept checks again and again, most of them are on the exam. Would definitely take him again! Great Professor!
Professor Thompson is an interesting one. His tests are TOUGH. He gives lots and LOTS of extra credit to help you make up for the hard tests. HW is so easy. You get 2 shots at getting the grade you want. Attendance is mandatory. If you don't show up, you probably won't pass. He NEVER cancels class. 3 tests. Optional Final. 10 HW's.
Easy A. Tons of extra credit, study the concept checks and chapter reviews, and go to class. Lots of easy points here (attendance, easy online homework, and literally 400+ points of extra credit), and tests weren't challenging so I don't understand how people got less than an A. Would take again in a heartbeat
Thompson was an easy professor. He has an arrogant stage presence but that's just because he has to have one to keep control of a 500-person lecture class. He gives a TON of extra credit so just do semi-well on the exams and do all of the extra credit he offers and you should easily get an A or a B. Textbook not necessary- wish I hadn't bought it.
So much extra credit if you do not get an A or B you shouldn't be in college. Get all D's or C's on the tests no problem the homework and the in class participation and the extra credit will easily bump you to an A. Take him you won't regret the GPA boost.
Gave enough extra credit for one whole exam grade and attendance is a grade too so show up! Exams are kind of tough but just study all the concept checks he gives you and you should easily get a C or D on the exams. The hw and extra credit he gives should make up the hard exams. Easy class, take him.
I took this teacher for my first semester and he nice the extra credit help me a lot to add more point on my grade average. please do not miss the class is 200 points and the exam is base on the concepts check and sample exam we will give you everything just read and you will be fine because is similar question. take him
If you show you put a lot of effort into the course, he will help you out along the way. The cases are hard and take a LOT of time to do. In this 8W class there are 6 cases. Quizzes are not hard. Participate in the discussion daily and actually try and you will do very well. Plan to spend 40 hr/week on this class if you want to do well (for 8Wk)
The online section of MKT 5150 at the graduate level has an extremely high work load. Prepare to do LOTS of work. Getting good grades is not difficult, provided you follow the grading scale and put in the work, but there is a lot to do.
The cases and reading are extremely time consuming. Professor was not willing to answer my emails with more feedback but if you follow his rubrics and do well on the quizzes which are relatively easy it should be fine
Gives ton of extra credit but he loves to talk about himself. COME TO CLASS! Attendance is part of your grade. You can fail the test and still get a B with the amount of extra credit he gives. DONT buy his textbook, he wrote it so he wants you to buy it. You have 3 exams, optional final, attendance, and myLab. Do all of the extra credit! IT HELPS!
One of the most annoying, ridiculous professors I've ever taken. Get ready to spend 3 hours a week listening to a pretentious man talking all about his money-oriented life. Tests are DIFFICULT. The only good think about this class is the extra credit opportunities, but even those are over the top. Can't skip class, he's obsessed with attendance.
Hardest class ever taken, but as long as you participate, he helps you along the way and helps bring out the best in your work ethic. Making an A in a class I would worried I wouldn't pass after reading the syllabus. He expects a lot from you but give it to him and he will really teach you. Amazing learning experience
He really knows his stuff and gives very good real world examples. I failed all three tests, but he gives a ton of extra credit (yay!) so it really helped bring my grade up to a B+. I would take this class again.
Takes attendance daily, book is a waste of money, tests are ok at best, lots of extra credit but can be time consuming. Lecture is annoying but can be helpful on exams. Tophat is constantly lagging and giving him problems, very annoying seeing as its extra credit points for the concept checks and he uses it for attendance.
Attendance is graded and makes up a big chunk of your grade, so don't skip. he book is pretty unnecessary since he gives you test questions to review. Lots of extra credit, although they're usually long and tedious. Three tests with an optional final that replaces your lowest test grade. Overall a good class, save money and skip on the book though.

He is smart and very up on technology. He is very organized. Has boring lectures but you must pay attention for the in class extra credit. With all the extra credit he provides it is very hard to fail his class. You do not need true book if you can follow his lectures. You need the mktg lab and top hat. Tests are challenging 70q. Most work I have ever had to do for a class but, make no mistake, I learned the material. I wanted to drop (read: quit) the class early on due to the volume of work but I stuck it out and got an A. He is very demanding but equally fair.

He is test-heavy, and the exam content doesnt reflect the content covered in class. He doesn't provide adequate test reviews, and he doesnt know how to explain concepts. Take another professor. Im an A student, and this class was the hardest class Ive ever taken. It occupied all my time; if it wasnt for the the extra credit I wouldve failed.
takes attendance using a code. lecture heavy and the tests can get a little tricky so you are going to have to study. when he gives extra credit, JUST DO IT BECAUSE IT WILL SAVE YOU!!!! thats how i managed to get an A. his class, at least when i took it was at the lyceum at the union which was pretty cool.
He provided a lot of extra credit and I recommend doing all of it! I gotta say :( the tests are few but they are extremely hard you really need to study hard if you a want a great grade on those. The comprehensive final in the end is optional though
almost no way you can fail this course. Apart from Professor Thompson being a good lecturer and informative, the amount of extra credit he provides is amazing. Tests aren't hard if you do the practice exams and take notes in class. Just make sure you're taking advantage of the extra credit and doing the mylab and practice exams and you're golden.
I gave the difficulty level of 4 due to the amount of work required outside of class. The class itself isn't difficult. Show up or you'll be in trouble. Despite what some of these reviews say, I did not find his tests to be difficult. They're verbatim from the practice exams. I made a 91, 92, and 105. He does grade on a curve. Tons of extra credit.
A lot of material on the tests you will have to learn by yourself. He will assign practice tests before every exam and i would advise getting started in advance because they will be around a 1000 questions for every exam. Almost impossible to meet with him, so hope that nothing goes wrong or it will not be fixed

Homework are due in chunks. Exam is completely copied off the practice quiz homework. Gives so much extra credit that it is hard to not pass this class. A little cocky so I don't like him as a person. Shows off his money alot. Videos are entertaining.
He has his own book and teaches it his own way which can be bad or good. Attendance is taken daily and offers tons of extra credit throughout the class. So try not to miss a day of class. If you attend class for TopHat points and do all the extra credit, the class is a breeze. You are required to do ridiculously long practice exams which was the biggest annoyance and also listening to the subtle brags from the professor of how rich he is. It wasn't a hard class but it wasn't exceptional either.
Theres a ton of homework. Practice tests are long (100 questions each chapter). He really brags a lot about how rich he is and all of the vacations he goes on. Has occasional guest speakers.
This class is fully automated and very large! It's a bit intimidating, but he was super helpful when it came to my accommodations. The exams have curves the size of Mt. Everest and the optional final replaces your lowest exam. Super easy professor, but the required course materials are very expensive and boring. Don't count on an A without them.
LOTS of work, but everything is on quizlet and you have SO much time to complete work. Insane amount of extra credit. He was great, offers a lot of extra credit and drops one test of four. Attendance counts for credit, participating in research as well. Answering questions on TopHat each session is all extra credit. The book and online content are expensive, but you will make a good grade if you keep up with all the homework. He gives really long practice tests!
You cant fail this class, but you do have to pay for TopHat (attendance), his textbook (includes code for hw) and Pearson. There are 3 exams and the final is optional, but theres so much extra credit that you might not even have to take the third one and still make an A.
Take him if you need marketing. It will cost more than a normal class because of top hat, the book with code and Pearson. But its worth it, there are lots of extra credit opportunities to help your grade. Do the work and youll make an A and wont have to take the 3rd or optional final exam. Easy A and Dr. Thompson is awesome hes so rich too.
Dr. Thompson was a great professor. His lectures weren't always the most entertaining, but for sure worth the listen. He gives great examples and really tries to relate them to the student. He also gives so much extra credit that some students don't even need to take the third tests.
This class isn't hard at all but there's so much to do. The good thing is that everything is on quizlet so just look it up. Do the extra credit, there's so much that extra credit that you might not even need to take the final. You can get 70's on all the tests and still pass with an A.
Please, save yourself (a lot) of money and time and avoid Prof Thompson. For starters, he requires over $200 of course material in online textbooks, practice tests, homework, and attendance. There are 25 homework assignments, 4 exams, hundreds of concept checks in class, and numerous 75 question practice tests. This class was riddled with busy work
Be prepared to spend too much time working in this class. The relevance of the required coursework to what marketing managers do is nonexistent. You will spend more time worrying about completing work and making sure it is in an acceptable form than you will actually learning about what real marketing managers do.
He provides little direction on case reports other than to look at other material. His feedback on your work consists of 3 words that do not go into detail about why points were taken off. This course requires you to read 23 chapters, take 19 quizzes, read and do 6 case reports and be active in discussion forums all in 8 weeks. The most work ever.
Dude is the definition of ivory tower. His syllabus and attitude towards students is condescending and a 'better than you' attitude. Very little direction on the how to do things and the workload is insane. You will easily spend 20-25 hours a week reading, taking quizzes, & 6 very intense case studies that he provides minimal feedback on. Avoid!
Professor seems to knowingly throw bones to students in order to make higher grades easier to achieve. The amount of extra credit offered is immense. Only problem is that there are a multitude of different websites that you have homework due on, and they are not all explained adequately. Still, minimal effort will give you a good grade.
This was an eight week class that had 18 Chapters to read, 19 quizzes to do, 1 finance problem set to do, 6 case reports to read, analyze and write up, 6 graded discussion groups, and 8 extra quizzes. It also doesn't help that he does not provide any feedback when he takes points off the reports, so you repeat the mistakes and lose points again.

He gives enough extra credit and opportunities to make a decent grade, but his lectures are dry & he requires you to shelve out almost $300 in his textbook & extra programs that he uses for the course. Not very tech-savvy, his TA's were the best & always available. I passed with an A, but I would not recommend him to anyone else.
I was very nervous for this course, but it really wasn't bad. The cases are very time consuming, but if you pay attention to the textbook and look at the discussions, you will be fine. Professor Thompson was very helpful and made himself available to his students. He really isn't a tough grader and he became my favorite professor very quickly!
This class was horrible. Scattered information made keeping up with assignments difficult. his grading system was hard to understand. He was only present a few times then his TA did the rest of the class structure. Only take him if you need to but I suggest looking for someone else. the books are expensive since he wrote them. avoid!
This class SHOULD be an easy A, I sat with an A all semester, and then numerous grades that weren't in the "grades" tab (ironic) popped up with 0's. His information is EXTREMELY scattered, he posts all of his modules as an announcement so you believe he's just updating you when the announcement IS an assignment???
MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR SONA FIRST THING!!! if you wait til the end of the semester (november 20th at the latest) then you may not be able to do it and you'll get a zero. he offered lots of extra credit to help if you made a zero, which was nice but overall, i didn't personally like this guy. $300 for textbooks and doesn't round up 89.5 or higher.
Professor Thompson was very clear in his expectations and made himself very available for office hours. He gave us plenty of extra credit. This class does require a book with a costly access code. If you take this class be sure to keep track of the many little assignments. He does not accept late work (but does give extra credit)
I thought this class would be easy, and it should be - but he is so unorganized that it makes the class difficult. my class has grades on THREE DIFFERENT PLATFORMS - Canvas, Pearson, and KendallHunt. Assignments are hidden, you have to search for them. You also HAVE to purchase his NEW textbook. He will rip your wallet to shreds, look elsewhere.
Class is set he makes no changes. Follow the syllabus and you will be fine. He wants to do minimal work as possible so this class is just recycled every semester that is why he has no lenience with dates (more work with him). He will not make exceptions AT ALL not from the Dean of business or UNT itself. During the polar vortex deadlines were kept
He is rude from day one (even in the syllabus). His lectures are SOOO boring- he reads you the slide. He wrote the textbook and it's terrible and expensive. He doesn't update grades until the last week. You can definitely get an A, but its a painful semester. Take anyone else.
Thompson is necessarily not a bad professor but the thing is that theres many 3rd party websites to access the assignments. Its really easy to get behind but if you stay on top of it, youll be fine really. Doesnt insert grades until the last week or two of the semester. Overall, a decent instructor.
I really enjoyed his class. He is very upfront, has a dry humor, and can be sarcastic. He is lecture heavy, but its straight out of the textbook. Make sure you come to the test review sessions with questions!!!
BUY THE KHP PEARSON AND HIS BOOK ITS REQUIRED AND GRADED. PEARSON, KHP AND MBN ARE ALL THE HW ASSIGNMENTS. DO SONA ITS REQUIRED! ass professors wouldnt communicate, exams were very easy but this class is tedious. Work in here is so tedious and the book is his own so he makes you buy it DO EVEYRHTING I SAID AND YOU GET AN A TOO
Made us purchase the EXPENSIVE textbook he wrote by bundling it with the access code needed for homework assignments. Very snappy about people asking questions, didn't put grades into canvas until the last week of school. All tests and homework answers were on quizlet so its an easy class he just sucks as a person.
lots of homework. you've got regular homework, marketing simulations, practice tests for each chapter, surveys to complete, and exams of course. however, as far as online classes go, super easy. professor thompson also gives a ton of extra credit. makes units due on one day so you can do the work as you go. just stay on top of the canvas calendar.
Take full advantage of extra credit with him. You have to buy the textbook (that he wrote, mind you) to get the access code in order to do the homework, plus get Pearson for other activities. So many chapter quizzes, but if you just go over the key terms you'll be fine. He had his TAs do everything so don't expect much interaction from him.
Good luck trying to dispute any grade discrepancy. Essentially, you're given so much to read through, tests, quizzes, and modules. He has you buy the text book, (yes, the one that he wrote) and there are 16 quizzes (30 questions each) that you have to slog through. All in all, this class feels like way more work than it's worth.
This guy has 0 compassion or care for his students. He wrote the textbook, charges you for it, and also charges you for the My Labs. You have to do your homework on 3 different websites (Mylab, Canvas, KHP content) and will never answer your emails. I had to get my ODA officer involved for him to give me my accommodations. This dude just sucks.
Most unorganized class I've ever taken. Assignments are through 3 different platforms. He makes you spend over 100 bucks on a book that HE wrote. I swear the lecture material hasn't been updated since the 90s. That being said, the class is easy to pass and he does offer extra credit, but it's not worth the headache if you can take someone else.
This class was genuinely pretty straight forward, despite the amount of work. I would recommend getting the quizzes out of the way during the first week, so you can focus solely on the case studies. The professor was helpful in answering qs. I was able to get an A working full time and doing this class, and Im terrible at anything math related.
The class itself should be very easy, and it is, aside from Thompsons compulsive need to turn every simple sentence into a complex matter. Never has a professor made such a simple class so needlessly difficult for no reason before.
Thompson is a decent professor. Even though the class was online, the material & structure is pretty straightforward. There are 4 exams (just key terms) (4th optional final) mktg metrics quizzes, & SONA. He requires his $200 book/code which is ridiculous to take on a different platform. Other than that, the class is okay & TA is helpful!
Professor Thompson was a ghost professor but not complaining because its a self-taught class. Im sure hes great w communicating with his students. Hw is due sparsely but a-lot at a time , which you do need to read for, provides materials for each unit, no lecture meet ups, and exams are open-note. Overall good class to take
TA did all the work in this class. Professor had strict rules and wouldn't answer emails. Worst part was that grade calculation was disabled the whole semester so it was nearly impossible to know your grade. Not too much work. Practice exams were not required but helpful and helps with final grade. not that bad, just dont expect help from prof.
It is a self-taught class. Buy textbook, read chapters, do hw for each chapter (40q each, unlimited attempts), 3 exams, and some additional research surveys (easy, takes max 10 min for each one). Exams are the same as hw, so pretty easy. Comprehensive final is optional and can replace the lowest exam grade. Hard due dates!
The class was easy once you got the hang of the different sites he has assignments on. The course consisted of quizzes on Kendall Hunt. You have to buy his expensive textbook that he wrote... As well as some Sona surveys, three exams, optional final and some hw assignments on canvas. He doesn't offer any help but his TA basically runs the class.
Very easy going class if you go by the textbook and clear grading communication throughout the semester so anyone isn't confused.
This is a very time consuming class but overall not too difficult. You need to do your reading. Case studies are well constructed and Dr. Thompson makes more than reasonable efforts to guide you.
Take Thompson online if you can. The lectures are posted to watch at your own pace, and Thompson and his TA kept very consistent and accessible office hours. You have to buy the book that he wrote (about 100 bucks) and exams are basically a regurgitation of the readings.
Lectures are posted online and you can go at your pace. That being said, do not take this professor if you can! He is difficult to work with, you must pay for his expensive textbooks, his exams are ridiculously long with a short timer including the syllabus quiz and each module will have 7-10 lectures. The TAs are the ones actually teaching.
To start the class itself is not that hard, do light studying you'll be perfectly okay the main reason I don't recommend this class is because of the mandatory SONA assignment. It was worth 200 points of the class grade and forces everyone to apply for some kind of volunteer project and if you don't you lose 10% of your grade at the end of semester
The exams are extremely long with the first two exams being 75 questions long and the third being 100. I also did not like how he grades the KS assignments by the "average" of your three attempts and not highest score but he does provide a good amount of extra credit which will compensate for those lost points. Okay online class but very dull.
This class was very meh, The class material is not very hard to understand. My only problem with this class is how long the exams are. The exams are anywhere from 50 to 75 questions which is excessive in my opinion. You only get 90 minutes to finish the exam which can be stressful. Keep that in mind when you sign up for this course.
We had to pay an expensive textbook and it was definitely self taught. The textbook questions are nearly identical to the exam, so I did feel prepared. There are some math assignments in canvas that have 3 attempts, but it keeps your AVERAGE score. He gave a ton of extra credit towards the end. Overall the course was fine.
This is a self-taught class, and there's a lot of assignments every week. You have to purchase so many things. Prof. T was barely involved in the course, so I can't say much about him, but he does give a few extra credit assignments towards the end of the semester. You can get a good grade in this class, but you have to manage your time wisely.
This is a self-paced class with a lot of assignments. The textbook is expensive, but the exams are basically just regurgitation of the readings. unstuck ai was a big help with study prep. Overall, a decent class if you manage your time well.
The class itself was easy however, professor does some really unnecessary things for the class. Professor makes us calculate our own grade, and even has math problems on the syllabus to test you if you know how to check your grade. Textbook is not only expensive but also has numerous spelling errors in it.
If I could describe this class in one word, it would be confusing. All this professor does is make you buy his expensive book and then present you with a really complicated grading system that you have to figure out yourself. Nothing about this class makes sense. He dips after you buy it.
Class wasn't hard, teacher was a bit complicated, though. He hides your total grade until the very end, which is very annoying. The chapter tests are soooo long. Quizlet is your best friend! He makes us pay $200 for a poorly written textbook. He posts lectures, but they are really boring. He offers extra credit, though. No lockdown browser as well.
although the content is easy and exams don't require lockdown browser the professor makes the course much more difficult than needed. grades are hidden until the end of the semester and the system he uses is inefficient and difficult to understand. this course just feels like a scam to sell his poorly written textbook.

You have to buy his expensive textbook to access the homework. The homework is long and consists of chapter exams and KPS exercises. The course is mainly self-paced with assignments due on exam days.
