Was this a class on Microecon or himself? Loves talking about himself. Very egotistical when there's nothing to be egotistical about. Course is a breeze-but it bored me and left me uninterested. If you suck up to him you'll have an easy A. Please avoi
His class is pretty easy, and the quizzes are straight forward. The final is hard even though it is graded on curve
Avoid at all cost, take some other teacher, he just is not worth dealing with.hard and you MUST turn in home work every week Oh and theres test everyday too
difficult class, to pass with an 'A' especially, tests everyday!, read each and every ch.!
Had him for microeconomics.. he never collected the homework, I averaged 80% on his quizzes and still got an A. Just play his games, pay attention to extra credit and don't fret about quiz scores
This guy is great! If you can't pass his class and play his games you have got to be an idiot. I got an A in this class, just follow the directions. If you can't follow directions maybe you should be bagging groceries at safeway or tossing around UPS boxe
difficult class but if you read the book and study Everyday, youll pass. get as much extra credit as you can, especially during the games.
he is very egotistical...he loves talking about himself. easy class though
Egomaniac. Controlling and irritating. Takes up class time forcing class to do his admin work. He is an idiot.
his class does the same routine every week. You do the review questions at the end of the chapter and than take a test on it, every week. He gives you like 10 chances to take your grade from an F to A if it comes to that. Ectra credit given everyday take advantage of it.Loves to talk about himself
This teacher is a really cool and funny, though his class is difficult. I took his 3 hr class for 1 day a week, and every class meeting we had to take 2 quizes. Tough class to pass because you have to read the text and understand it completely to be prepared for quiz.
I think Mr. Williams is a great insructor and does a good job explaining the material you must study the book and the study is a great help youhave to do a lot to get through the class but guess what his motoi there is no such thing as a free luncl and he is not going to give you one any thing worth
When it comes to econ this guy knows what he's talking about, but can be a total **** in class. Watch out! He runs his class like a military unit.
This guy is a punk of a teacher. He thinks he's the smartest guy on earth. Got on my nerves most of the time. If you can stand his attitude you can pass the class.
This guy is GREAT. He is always avalible, and he admits when he is wrong. He likes to pass on info to students about all aspects of life, not just econ stuff, and its mostly usefull. For an econ 1 teacher there is no better at Chabot currently. Also, bring your book to the 1st day, and no pens ever.

HE'S QUITE A CHARACTER, LOVES TO TALK ABOUT HIMSELF AND HIS WEALTH. HE'S GOES OF TRACKED MOST OF THE TIME IN LECTURES, BUT HE'S VERY KNOWLEDAGABLE IN OTHER AREAS AS WELL OUTSIDE OF ECON. HE GIVES YOU LOTS OF CHANCES TO GET AN A IN HIS CLASS AND IF YOU TRY HARD ENOUGH, THERE IS NO REASON WHY YOU SHOULDN'T GET AN A
OMFG..i took this class yr at chabot and im SO SO SO glad i took it cuz he was the best teacher i've EVER EVER had in my entire life. Seriously, he's funny and KNOWLEDGEABLE like no other. Sure he's egotistical, but he's respected cuz he's got the skills/money/knowledge! He's a VERY good professor with good talkin skillz n his lectures aresuper fun
One of the best teachers I've had. He gets pretty demanding but has a very humorous personality. Very straight-forward and jokes around and gives us "LIFE" tips. I actually see him as a Father-figure. Just listen to the lectures and study. Does give out a decent amount of HW and quizzes. Highly recommended for the serious!
Ken is a very knowledgable and good teacher but don't expect an easy A! He will make you work for your grade but you will learn a lot. He has some good stories that tend to take the dullness out of the lectures and he explains how econ works with situations relevant to the students. I would definitely recommend him if you want to learn about economics.
I think that he is a great and fair teacher, he knows a lot and does not mind sharing this with the class. He gives you plenty of chances to bring up your grade, if you prepare there will not be a problem. If you do not want to work then find a different teacher there is a lot of material to cover and he tries to cover as much as possible in 13 weeks.

Very easy teacher...gives a lot of extra credit...
For people who don't like to partcipate, don't take his class. He requires you to partcipate in games and get invovle to answer questions for extra credit. He base your grade on quizzes and half of your grade is the final. You really have to know your stuff to pass his class. You can't be shy. His grading is fair.Funny teacher tho.
i heard if your hot u get a semi good grade , but you do need to study for this class . you get lots of extra credit by making flash cards .
he favors girls, but a really nice and funny teacher. great at his job. if you have no interest in business, dont take the class. very serious professor. gives a lot of extra credit.
He really does favor girls!...Not that I'm complaining! This instructor really know what he's talking about...and you will learn alot in his class. There is alot of extra credit..but until the last 2 weeks of class, your grade will seem unusually low. There is a LOT of reading, memorizing and studying in this class..but its very interesting!
Uses a lot of sarcasm and doesn't even lecture! just talks about random things like: the vast amounts of wealth he has and his personal life experiences. doesn't tell you when an assignment is due or anything that will help you on your grade. i don't think he cares about his students and just teaches as a part time leisure activitity. don't take hi
Williams..is the best teacher!!!! his class is easy...it might seem hard but its not...all u have to do is the work...and know what you are reading...he gives a lot of extra credit..there should be no reason to fail his class!!! oh and be his scribe...thas extra points!!...he is a really kool and funny guy....hes very educated too...!!!
he's a really good teacher. He relates everything were learing to the real world. You learn things that you can actually use. The class is very demanding but he gives you ample opportunites to get an A. Lots of extra credit avaliable

By far the worst Econ teacher Chabot has to offer. I was so dissapointed. His class is good only for about a month, then you realize that he has no thought of teaching his students about Econ. He just basically tells you about unrelated topics.

I did not enjoy his style of teaching. All he did was brag about his life and how many homes he have, and the ferrari he has, and what expensive college his children attended. If you want a good grade in his class, you basically have to kiss his you know what. Most people I know that had him as a professor, dropped him. I don't recommend him.
He is a great teacher, but definitely not easy. All it takes is dedication to ACE his classes. He may seem as though he is off topic, but if you actually pay attention to what he is saying, you will notice that he is clarifying a subject, or giving hints to the next quiz or test. Very confident? YES! Just enjoy and you will learn A LOT!
This is a hard class because it is a very hard subject to understand. You have to read and keep up with the weekly homework so the work is intense. He makes it fun with the mid-term games, and the competition makes us work harder. He is very particular about how things are done. If you listen, he has lots to say about economics and life in general.
this teacher sucks. he has no interest in teaching kids. all he does is play his stupid games in class. he is so lazy to even grade the student's quiz papers. he makes other students do it for him. i would never take 1 of his classes ever again. how do folks like this remain employed?
Teaches a hard subject but definitely knows his stuff. He comes off as pompous and arrogant but in reality, he's there to help students learn not only about economics but how to succeed in school in general. Just show up to class and you'll do fine.
Easy but hard at the same time. Hes nice but intimidating. I recommend people to take him. And if you do be his scribe! easy extra credit points. And as much as possible participate and receive extra credit points. He gives three finals, i recommend people to skip the first 2 and just do the 3rd final. He makes a speech of how hard his third final i
Course is very demanding. Alot of people complain about this course being difficult, when in reality it is quite easy. Just go to class everyday and do the reading. Participation plays a huge role to your success in the class. I thought Ken was a magnificent teacher who prepares his students for the real world.
He demands a lot out of his students. Be prepared. He will call on you if you're quiet.Good thing is that you get a lot of xtra credit. You get extra credit for answering questions and doing HW. You have to read a lot! 2 chapters a week and around 50-60+ pages a week. TEST EVERY CLASS MEETING! 10 Questions. Xtra credit managed to pull my C+ to a A-.
Must be spoken to seriously and with respect.
hes a very good teacher. he comes off as strict the first days of class to get rid of people. but he is overall a very helpful and awesome teacher, you can learn alot from this man if you just listen
he is too funny. He explains everything. He has a game that helps you learn and shows what you need to focus on for the final. He is excellent. Lots of reading and participation in class though.
He's a bit weird, but the course took a bit your time. you literally have to read all 20 chapters that are in the book... the course was hard in that sense, but easy in a sense where i had a D on quizzes which were 50% of your total grade, got 12% extra credit on total grade, and aced the final so got an A in the end...
Williams focuses too much on class rules rather than class material. He does not lecture but merely goes over the questions and review at the end of the chapters. On a positive note, he does offer many opportunities for extra credit. He takes points off if you chew gum, talk in his class, say the word "like" out of context, like totally...
Tough but rewarding course. You need the book because you read and answer questions from every chapter. You take a test every class but they are easy if you do the homework. If you want a life, do not take this course... It is a very time consuming class! However, his extra credit set up allows you to do well even if you do bad on the tests.
I liked him much better than Roghani. Much easier to learn from and understand the info.
nice guy, tended to brag a lot though which wasn't necessarily helpful to the coursework. Quizzes are rough, final is HARD. but the game you play towards midterms is a lot of fun and makes getting an A easy.
Great teacher and very knowledgeable. Be a Scribe (extra credit). Participate ( extra credit). Study vocab. I learned a lot. Had quizzes every week and practically bombed all of them. I came into the final with a D and ended up getting a B =). My advice.. forget the first 2 finals and skip to the oral exam.
knows alot about econ relies his life on econ easy teacher but hard class takes up alot of time you have to read the book everyday inorder to pass the test and quizes gives out alot of EC do rebuttals and come to class everyday and your good.
Okay so this class is basically chaos, you HAVE to work supe rhard for your grade there is no easy way out. Quizzes everytime you meet and theyre hella hard. A lot of xtra credit but you got to be on top of things. I wouldnt take him again!!! He is a really great person in general but, teacher wise too complicated.Super nice too, but tough class.
As an overall person, Mr. Williams is cool. You read the entire 20 chapters in the book&then answer the questions after each chapter. Have a quiz every time there's class..such a drag! It's a hard class but he gives you lots of opportunities for extra credit.
He will make you work for your grade, make sure you don't miss any class. There is a test every day and those make up the grade that you will get at the end. He offers ex credit and is pretty funny. The midterm game is awesome and you can earn some serious ex credit.I recommend him highly, but then again he is the monopoly of econ 1 at chabot LOL
Basically, you're teaching yourself. You have to read the book, answer questions to prepare for daily quizzes. He encourages participating to earn extra credit, and this is a must! Extra credit is what will change your grade from a low grade to an automatic A or B. Oh yea, half the story he tells...it's a lie, but helpful.
Mr. Williams is a good man, and excellent instructor. The class is challenging, but getting a good grade is no problem, as there are numerous extra credit opportunities. Econ itself was a very interesting subject. I recommend Econ 1 and Mr. Williams
This class is really hard for an intro to Econ. Mr. Williams thinks we're all econ experts from the start and that makes it had for anyone to really learn when he skips the basics so fast. Mr. Williams is a nice person but not a great econ teacher I would not take a class with him again.... EVER! Find someone else at Chabot.
Interesting teacher. Always Keep you on your toes.
HOLY CRAP! Mr. Williams is out of this world!!! This class is way too hard with him at the helm! He doesn't teach for squat! All he does is lecture about his stories or current events. We read our HW answers for extra credit and it's 2 Chpts to read per week. Quizzes every week too that we have no clue about... Why are we teaching ourselves?
Yes, Prof. Williams is a tough teacher. You have a quiz almost every class meeting, but he is also very fair. He gives many EC opportunities. If you aren't ready to work your butt off, don't take the class. If you don't like reading, don't take the class. HIGH textbook use. Very tough. But he's pretty funny and helps when you ask. :)
This professor gets my vote!. Granted, you WILL do a lot of reading, writing, and (if you want a good grade) heavy participation in class discussions. But you will come away with improved thinking, studying, writing, and speaking skills...trust me! And his bark is bigger than his bite...he's actually very fair and pretty funny, too!
Managed to pull my grade up to an A. BooYAH. He's a great professor, who is entertaining to converse with. He will pick on you if you make simple mistakes. Don't take 'em personally. He does let you question him. Advice: Play the Midterm Game, Participate and question the textbook. Not everything in that thing is believable. :)
Hard material, yet interesting class. There is a test every class (hard). The professor is really funny and likes to joke around, but deep down he knows his stuff. You must participate in discussions to receive a good grade. Do his extra credit to bump up your grade. I went into the final with a "D" and my extra credit got me to a "A". No joke.
Ken unfairly gets a bad rap. This guy knows his stuff. His class may not be easy, but he is always fair. Gives THREE chances to pass final and takes your highest score. Gives many extra credit opportunities which can seriously improve your grade by a whole lot. So don't pass up opportunities for EC!! Weekly quizzes can be tough, so do the reading.
Class was pretty easy since it was close to high school work. You just have to read the chapters, do the questions on the back of each chapter. Going to class is mandatory, the points will help you at the end. Missing a test is gonna kill your grade. Tests are based on the chapters. To save your grade, always answer HW questions
Took both Econ 1&2 with Mr. Williams. He is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable in his field, and if you want to learn, I highly recommend his class. Caution! Do not take his class if you don't like to work hard and if you're shy. His quizzes are difficult, but there are MANY opportunities for EXTRA CREDIT. Class participation is required!
Expects the impossible, class is like a hostage situation, if you are one minute late, he doesn't let you in and then tells you you missed an hour when he wouldn't let you in the first place and he keeps going on about it. He should not be teaching and his female assistant will keep staring at you nonstop, which is disrespectful and unn
Read the chapters twice, quizzes will be easier if you do this. They are everyday so do not miss class. He drops the lowest two, and gives extra credit all the time, so just participate. He really knows his stuff and will help you if you need it. The midterm game was fun. You have three tries with the final. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE LAZY!
Hard work. Good teacher.
He knows economics like back of his hand however his teaching way testing and class rules make his class harder. His homework and tests really don't go together much best way to pass his class is try to do and understands problems and applications behind each chapter. Two test per week and hw has to be typed
I did not need the class in order to finish my AA. I took it for fun. Thought I knew the material, but the tests are not always based on the material. Not that I mined, but some of his jokes and stories could be offensive to others. He does not lecture. You come in (not late), take a test, answer the questions from the book then you leave.
I liked his teaching method and It helped me to learn. However you definitely need to study to pass this class. Tests are not easy and you need to study for them weekly. Many extra credit opportunities though.
Mr. Williams is a VERY smart teacher. He has a good sense of humor. At first he seems a little harsh, but as the course unfolds, you realize he's really there to have a good time and teach you. You will learn if you ask questions. The class is work, but you will learn SO MUCH if you do the work. Plus, there's enough extra credit to pass a monkey.
When I first started this class I absolutely hated Ken! But like a fungus he grows on you. If you can get past his weird stories and seemingly arrogant nature, you see that he is a highly intelligent professor with a lot to teach not only about econ but about life. He truly cares about his students and wants you to succeed and broaden your horizons
I failed everyone of his quzies in Econ, however I do work on the extra credits which he gives away daily and also he let us retake the final until we get a grade that we want.
All this professor is is pretty much talk. He has good stories but it just didn't add up to how someone can do all this in a life time. You can get a really good grade if you do ALL the extra credit which is ridiculous. I didn't learn anything and he doesn't teach he just talks and talks.
If you want to learn, take him!
A- Read the book twice, keep up with news around the world and answer his ec questions. B- Read the book twice. Do not participate in ec questions. C-Read once
Basically the Dolores Umbridge of Chabot College. Positives: Good understanding of Econ, Tells Stories. Negatives: Favors Students, VERY EGOTISTICAL, Boastful. Other: Shuts late students out (if he says no admittance after 10 mins he shuts the door within 5), Gives heavy textbook workload then claims that studying the textbook is basically useless
If you really wanna learn about Econ you should take this class. The only thing is you need to be prepared for a heavy workload. If you can handle the work and have an interest for the course you'll get a lot from this class. Great teacher
He doesnt want to fail anyone and that's why will give you many opportunitites to get a passing grade. You can retake an exam. Gives you lots of extra credit points which you want to get so it would add up to an A+. He wants his students to learn the subject and know the work. Get 10 on quizs because if you do well on those you will pass class easy
This material is hard to learn, but he gives you plently of chances to get an A in his class
Mr Williams is the best professor I have ever had! Yes, we do alot of work from the book, but he also makes us apply Economics to real life which is great for remembering the material. Get as many extra credit points as you can because even if you are not good at tests, it really helps your grade! He likes students who contribute alot to the class.
Mr. Williams is great. He will dock you points for not doing homework, attendance or being late/chewing gum. Plenty of extra credit that carries over if you have to retake the class.
Talk a lot in the class, but not really necessary or related to the class. Topics sometimes are defensive to others. Critical to every small things. Bring two boxes of his personal things for the class.
If you know what Monopoly means, you will understand this teacher's attitude. Go to other community college nearby and have more choices.
Test e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y but doesn't lecture on essential material until after tests are completed and students fail. Expects students to read "Harvard" book material and learn it on your own. Instructor is so complicated even scholars don't stand a chance!
Quiz every single day based on readings. Go over hw questions as a class group session. Sometimes you will end up feeling stupid in front of everyone. Every time you answer a question, do the hw, and bring in the newspapers you get extra credit. Quizzes and final exam are the actual assignments. Everything else is extra credit, which you will need.
Quizzes are tough, but he gives out at least 30 points in extra credit in class to make up for it. There is a quiz every day; if you miss, it cannot be retaken. Attendance and participation are mandatory. He also encourages students to keep up with the major events around the globe by reading the Wall Street Journal
Ken knows econ very well. However, he ALWAYS wants everything his way. He does appreciate students that work hard and that participates in class. Though, he turned a 3 unit class into a 5 unit class. But I read the book twice and worked hard. I understand Econ now, but that's because I also had to teach myself. He's not always clear. But take him.
Honestly, he knows Econ very well. However, he ALWAYS want things to his way. He'll compliment a student for working hard, but will add on that his method is better. A bit cocky, but very smart. He's a nice man. I wouldn't take him. I passed the class, because I taught myself. Lectures after the test? Not a fan. You can't win with Williams.
Ken knows his stuff, but he has a lot of class policies and a lot of EC opportunities that are unclear. There is a quiz everyday based off the reading. If you don't do the HW, he will dock points. The final is 50% of the grade and the quizzes are 50%. He does things differently in his class. Gives 50 points in extra credit every class
His approach is unlike no other- Test are tough but are compensated by endless amounts of extra credit as long as you "participate" and are willing to read. His lectures relate to real life situations and help us know how it affects us in the real world, economically. Ken,truly wants everyone to succeed and grow educationally, if you desire too.
he is absolutely unclear in his teaching. he RARELY lectures! and you're stuck teaching the material to yourself. He talks a lot about his political view which are overly conservative. he is very rude.. the rudest college professor I've ever had. he creates a hostile learning environment and makes students feel stupid for asking questions. gross!
Williams is unconventional in his teaching methods, but it works. He's full of energy and makes the most of every class. I feel he really cares that the students not only succeed in knowing economics, but wants them to do better in life. His class feels like a 5 unit class but if you prepare, work hard, and participate you will do well.
Prof Williams is a diff kind of prof. His tone can be offsetting at times but he truly wants you to succeed not just in the class but in life too. There is a quiz each class based mostly from txtbook, so read chapt. multiple times and do the hw. The quizzes are hard but there is tons of EC available- take advantage! Participate & answer ?s for pts
Quizzes are very difficult, but the class is set up for you to get an A and thus there is an insane amount of potential extra credit to be had. He is opinionated and it is difficult to argue with him, and it takes quite a while to get accustomed to his class. He is an expert in economics. Do the work and you will gain practical information and an A
I Love Mr. Williams. I think he's a great professor. He's extremely knowledgeable about economics. He cares more about you learning rather than lecturing for two hours at a time. The class is very engaging. If you're extremely shy then this may not be the class for you.
The vibe of Mr. Williams' class is a bit of an acquired taste. It can take a while to get past his seemingly arrogant persona, but he does seem to care about bringing out the best in his students. The class itself requires a LOT of reading, despite the ridiculous amounts of extra credit. Participation is a near must if you want "easy" points.
Ken Williams is a for sure hard class. You have two quizzes every class that forces you to read consistently in order to pass. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities, but you have to be willing to participate in class and be vocal. He is a hilarious guy, but the class is set up where you are learning the material first.
The guy has his own style, and he clearly has put a lot of work into making class approachable and relevant to the learning needs of the classroom. He requires you to do a lot of things that other professors won't, but these are more recommendations that are designed to help you develop good habits. W/ avg quiz %, u can still get over 100% w/EC
Had him for for Micro & Macro. Hilarious, kind of sassy, not tactful at times. The class is so easy. You read, answer a few end of Ch questions, go to class for review, then two short quizzes per week. Don't be scared, seems unapproachable, I assure you he will be in time. Order your book before class so you don't fall behind. Listen to his rules.
I'm so confused as to why people think this guy is hard. Have you ever taken Econ anywhere else? This is the best you'll get. You actually learn through his engaging approach. He's so funny, read the chapters and answer a few questions, then quizzes. Unlimited extra credit. He has a good heart, tough exterior, a cuddly teddy bear on the inside.
Yo this prof was one of the GOATS you could definitely tell he loved economics told engaging stories every chance he got but was still able to fit all the material in lectures he's kinda awkward but its whatever he wants all his students to become millionaires
Alright, not my favorite professor, I could tell you how bad he is but honestly you have no choice when it comes to the subject. I got an A and its because I did every assignment/extra credit opportunity. study for every quiz, make flash cards, make this class your priority if you need to. He is really fair when it comes to grading.
Uncle ken has some of the best stories, I would rather listen to how he found a bag of money on the side of the road than the boring subject of elasticity.
This is an intro class at community college.. it doesn't get any easier.. You could honestly negotiate your grade at the end of the semester (*not suggested*). Interesting lectures. Tedious hw and quizzes. Just read and do your QFRs, its not hard at all... Once you get to UC, all exams are written. No MC. Enjoy your MC quizzes/exams while it lasts.
I aced his class so I'm not some scorned bitter student. Ken Williams is trash. He'll tell you he doesn't go off topic right before going off topic. Hes constantly stroking himself bragging about his 200 properties. Super conservative Closet Trump voter forsure. He says his students get into Cal but that's only because he's the only micro teacher
Tips to get an A : 1) Be his scribe (12 or more E.C points for free!) 2) Answer all the easy questions for easy E.C (They buildup at the end) 3) Know his acronyms and get used to his jokes (They're answers to his questions) 4) Volunteer for his Extra-credit (E.C) assignments 5) Read! 6) Do/Review QFRs 7) Answer at least one QFR/ class
Took it awhile ago, hated the class structure. Attendance mandatory, did not let me sleep or do other thing in his useless lectures. People who get A's are idiots who fail exams, cheat on quizzes and get the easy extra credit or those who tried. I got a 110% on his curved final, those cheaters who got 50%'s still got A's cause of extra credit.
Great professor. You will NOT fail if you attend class, read the text, and earn E.C. points. Im not saying it's an easy A, but it is if you read and understand the text.
I'm about to finish his Econ1 class rn and Extra Credit is key and not very difficult to come by. He makes you answer your assigned QFR (HW) question to the class and defend it. If you are shy, like me, don't be. He helps you along and DON'T skip class hopping you're # will be skipped because he adds it all up at the end and deducts it from EC.
Boring class. If you hate and not great on the test do not take him. I only took him because I have no other choice. Until I learned there is online Econ class in Las Positas. Sometimes he makes fun of you and he has mean jokes. But overall I think he is a good professor. Give extra credits, chance to the student. ECONOMIC IS HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEVER take this teacher! You learn nothing from him because he goes off on too many tangents about how great he is and that he's better than us, and how we don't know anything. He doesn't teach. He mansplains. He's also highly prejudiced toward women and minorities. Classic white male supremacy. I was better off dropping than risking my grade!
Had no choice but to take him. He is very anal about things and he loves to put people on the spot. Loves to stroke his ego about how rich and smart he is. Reading the chapters is a must. Lots of extra credit. If you take him, you can be sure that it will take some time to get used to him. Its a shame because he seems to care about his students.
He is extremely difficult to work with, and expects you to follow everyone of his rules. Failure to do so? F.
I had to study everything on my own to learn the subject. I was hoping to learn Econ but he gives out too much life lessons. He gives a substantial amount of extra credit to move your grade up to two letter grades up. If you just need a grade for GEs, you can chill in this course. If you want to learn, read on your own.
His class was 3 units but it felt like 5. I dedicated a lot of my time in his class but I still failed to understand the material. You are teaching yourself Economics because he never lectures from the book. Quizzes are ridiculous, he expects you to know the smallest details. You're better off doing the ORAL EXAM at the end of the semester.
Excellent teacher, first day of class everything is laid out for the rest of the semester on the work expected as well as the grading criteria. Gives out tons of extra credit, enough to go up several letter grades. Also gives out 3 finals so you always have a chance to get an A. A well structured class that I wish all my courses had.
Can't stand for that teacher wasting my time. Most of the time is doing something irrelevant such as teaching us to make the name card, making a nickname for everyone, telling dad's joke, introducing the 0.9 mm mechanical pencil and so on. You may think every teacher would have a introduction for the first meeting but this is not the first class.
Anyone can achieve an A in his class, but it does require participation, raising your hand constantly, and taking advantage of all the extra credit opportunities. Every class involves a ten question quiz, typically at the end of lecture. But for any incorrect answers, write a rebuttal and you'll get the point. Hard work leads to an A!
Hardest professor I've ever had but the most beneficial. Suck it up and get through his nitpickiness and you will be fine in his class. We are graded through quizzes and the highest grade of 3 finals, everything else is extra credit. He is sometimes lenient, and do all you can to participate as hes also reasonable. Gives lots of real world advice
Literally the hardest class Ive taken at Chabot . He doesnt do so much lecturing which is why you have to dedicate so much time to this class to teach yourself . You have a quiz almost every day and you cant make up quizzes if youre absent . He has so many restrictions that make the course even more stressful
The best professor I have ever had, changed my life completely. He helped me realize what I wanted to do with my life because he will help those students who show him they are worth the effort. Show him initiative and he will take notice and help you.
Ken Williams is a funny guy, but, he often crosses the line. He constantly talks about how he can get anyone into any university with $100k+ in scholarships if they: get a 4.0 and major in CS, Econ, and Math (must do ALL lol) No homework, class is based on 1 grade: the final, however, the entire semester is filled with extra credit opportunities
One of the best professors I had while I was in community college. Generally a very good hearted man and an exceptional teacher. A bit of a bullsh*tter, but most of his eccentricities are actually pretty reasonable. Show respect, engage thoughtfully, and make yourself generally aware of what's going on in the world - he'll force you to take an A
Confusing class. If you are two minutes late, he will lock you out and say you missed one hour. Tells you to leave two hours before class to get there on time even though we already do that. Then he changes it to two hours before that. Wants to be right. He is arrogant. Made us put his stuff in his bag for him. He can put his own stuff in his bag
Extra credit is nonexistent and sometimes he is unreasonable.
We are only graded by quizzes and the final. If you are the type of person who enjoys doing things at their own pace and wants to be left alone, this is the class for you. If you procrastinate, suck at tests, and need more than 5 quizzes and a final to pass, buckle up because it will get hard. Quizzes cover 5 chapters (avg 40 slides each).
This professor wasn't accommodating, especially taking into consideration we are in a pandemic. The course is made up of 5 quizzes and a final, nothing else. He posted the wrong book on the syllabus, was awful at emails, and constantly posted the wrong dates for his assignments which is crazy considering there were only 5. Would not take again.
There is no extra credit and he is awful at communicating. He also refused to accommodate a visually impaired student multiple times during the semester. If you do take him, be prepared to read the book since his lectures and powerpoints are no help at all.
He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had, and I've been in college full time for 4 years at 2 different schools. I had to take his class remotely due to covid and this man did not teach me a single thing. He assigned us a textbook and basically vanished. Was awful at responding to emails and never gave clarification/guidance when prompted.
Very lazy teacher. Gives chapter videos and 40 slides per chapter. You have to read everything by yourself and go over the chapter videos. He gives a quiz but gives no direction on what to study. In his video he says to watch and read everything. Its almost impossible to know what on the quiz. Youre graded based on your quiz scores. No homework.
If you don't mind teaching yourself and don't like homework, this is the best professor for that. All I had to do was study for the few quizzes throughout the semester and easily passed each of them. If you see a bad review on here it's from people who just can't teach themselves and need one on one interaction.
If you enjoy self teaching this class is good for you, if not, go with another teacher. This class literally only has 4 quizzes and a final exam, nothing else. So learning the material is up to you from the textbook and mindtap. For some thats awesome, but for others its not the best. It just depends on your personal learning prefrence
Very lazy teaching with the online format for this class. You get a semester's worth of pre-recorded lectures at the start and you're expected to watch them and take a quiz every 3-4 weeks. Encouraged the use of a Mindtap subscription ($100+) to practice problems, as he did not give out any HW himself. You're graded solely on tests. No extra credit
Where do I even start? Does not give out study guides. Entire grade is made up of five quizzes. Lecture notes suck and aren't helpful. After taking a quiz, you can't even see which questions you got right or wrong to improve next time. Not enough time for quizzes. You can't go back to a previous question to come back later. Avoid at all costs.
Took his online class for summer semester, didnt learn much, only graded on 4 quizzes and 1 final barely passed with a C.
I highly recommend not to take his class. All he grades are quizzes and finals. He does not provide any extra credit assignments. Do not take his class.
Ken is an incredibly unique professor who structures his courses unlike anything I have ever seen before. His course is structured like a competitive game and mirrors the economic principals that are being taught. The dynamic classroom environment allows for unconventional students to thrive. This professor is the real deal, truly a gem.
There is no way you can do the work and you wont get an A. Ultra strict on attendance, but the guy hands out extra credit like nothing. He literally gives you so many opportunities to succeed, that if you cant do well in his class, you should take a look at what other things in your life need to be managed better.
