Dr. Wishnia is a bit too into himself and often restricts the students creativity.

He's weird. Thinks he's something special...Way easy class. Just write and you'll be fine. Kinda creepy.

Wishnia is a little werid but a very good professor. As long as you pay attention and participate in class you got a good grade. Only one paper due for the whole class =) and responses done daily you'll get an A. I definitly think hes a good teacher and his the books he writes are FUNNY

He's funny, and leaves you alone to do your work. If you just do the work, the rest is cake. Don't get on his bad side, tho that's common sense for anyone that's in college.

I very much enjoyed this class, the first day, i couldnt believe that he was making us read a book that he wrote. I wouldnt buy it, so i borrowed from the library. I am currently on his 5th book in the Filomena series and I can not get enough of them. He is an excellent writer. as well as a teacher. I really enjoyed analyzing the texts he assigned.

If you read Dr. Wishnia's books, you will indirectly learn a lot about him. He focuses on social justice, and on helping minorities and the working class. Be in class every day and do your work, and you'll do well.

Funny guy. Helpful - if you come to class and do work. More writing/reading than I expected in this class, but it was interesting. He brings in authors, also interesting. Way into his career as writer.

KJA Wishnia is the best. His books are amazing, and by reading them, you get a glimpse into his life. Filomena Buscarsela ROCKS, just like KJA Wishnia!!

Detective story is a very cool class for an english elective, wishnia is a very interesting guy to listen to and I highly recommend the class if you need an english elective. not easy to get by but if you do the work and show up you should be fine!

He was such a good teacher. English literature. Read the stories he gives u, be responsible. there is gonna be a paper due at the end. But he gives his students plenty of time to do it. I really liked his class. He nice, good teacher, guffy and interesting

I am in his Detective Story class. I think he's a pretty cool guy. He is funny and very nice. I dont know why some people give him such negative comments, he seems nice to everyone. The Detective story class isnt very hard if you do the readings and homework. I would recommend this class

Wishnia's detective story is awesome. The books are really good and he brings in a lot of authors. Class is easy, read the book, write a response, and attend his short class to hand it in. Definitely recommend this class and professor Wishnia

Wishnia is a really cool guy. I enjoyed his class. It is not very hard if you show up to class and do the homeworks. I would recommend the detective story as an elective with Wishnia. Hes really funny and his class is easy if you do the work assigned and put a little effort into it.

The class overall was okay. The class in in a seminar format where the student reads a short story that is assigned, you write a response at home and discuss the book the next class. This system is okay but, you have over twenty written assignments. In addition, there are two novels, one was his own book. Overall 7 out of 10.

Easy class to pass as long as you show up on time and do the required work and participate in the dicussions. The short stories are interesting and the class is short if you get an A on your papers. Most kids didn't do the work so what do you expect from a grade. Do what's expected which isn't hard and you'll do fine.

Professor Wishnia is extremely bright and his classes are very interesting. I found the books we read to be great and his books was phenomial. Expect to work though if you take his class. You have to write a response for each class, but they are one page papers. He offers very heloful feedback and he is a nice person. I would highly recommend.

Reading isn't my best subject, so far this is my best class. Its boring, I aint gona lie but if you do ur work the professor is fair.HE stuck btween religions and he's alittle weird..... but aren't all writters interesting

I loved him! However for this class you have to put a lot of effort into your work. He grades you strictly on effort and it's not an easy class. He did show favorites but I still enjoyed him as a teacher. In fact I liked him so much that have him again next semester for English 102. Great teacher if you enjoy writing and are decently good at it!

You can't go into a literature class and not expect to read a lot. He gives a college level amount of reading and assigns reflection papers; this isn't high school anymore. He is well-versed, bright, and very patient. He grades participation, so get involved for that as well as for your own sake.

He's a pretty easy grader, but don't expect an A unless you write a very long response of the book/story you had to read. Participation is the key to boosting up your grade. I would take him again, he's really nice and funny and is willing to let you fix your work to bump up your grade a little.

Professor Wishnia is a peculiar guy. Or as I like to call him my guy KENNETH! Class was a breeze, weekly 1 page article summaries and one 3 page paper was all it was. Literally takes 10 minutes to do the weekly assignments, show up and do the work, although he rarely will give an A. I liked his funny strap on shoes and oversized shirts. What a guy.

Wishnia is a great professor if you can get passed his oddness. Don't expect to receive an A, even if you work hard

I had Professor Wishnia for Creative Writing and honestly, he wasn't that bad. We worked on one paper for the entire semester as part of our final project and when he held writing conferences, you were allowed to leave class EARLY. Participation does matter, but it's not that bad. Just show up on time. He's literally letting you leave early....

I absolutely loved his class. He kept class very interesting. He is very clear on what is expected from students.

A lot of reading. Pushes a lot of political and social boundaries. He says he doesn't give A's, and I believe him. Only 4 people in our class got an A, and I was one of them. Be ready to read and write your heart out for this class. Otherwise, he's a good quirky guy. I liked him and enjoyed his class.

Class kind of dragged on at times, but for the most part, if you read the material and over-analyze everything you should be fine. Definitely play to the audience (him) and you should get better grades over time. He rarely gives A's, and sometimes you'll get a B for stupid reasons, but if you participate he'll be a little lenient.

I took Professor Wishnia last semester (Fall 2020) online. I am not a fan of writing but wow this professor brought out the writer in me. He critiques hard but it's because he cares. There are only two assignments and he gives you the chance to ace both of them. Show you care and get creative, he talks a lot but is super funny! I got a 100 grade!

You have a reading assignment almost every week then you give a one-page paper on your opinion and thoughts. He gives it back to you and you fix it in class for a better grade. He has been my favorite English professor since he lets us write about what we found interesting and not answer a whole bunch of useless questions. Would def recommend him.

We only had 2 writing assignments the whole semester and he gave extended time to boost your grade, he is very eager to work with you. Very nice and easy to communicate with.

Great professor had him for English literature class. Was understanding and worked with you to boost your grade. Had a lot of chances to get extra credit and correct papers.

This guy rocks! I had this guy for Creative Writing and Eng102 and he does talk a lot but he loves interacting with the class and grades pretty well. Would take again.

Prof. Wishnia is a great professor. He didn't use textbooks, but you have to get like 4 books (which is okay, because I love reading). He gives you a chance to fix your papers for a higher grade. I had a lot of off-topic conversations with him after class about everything Eastern Europe because both of our families are originally from that region.

This professor is honestly a really nice guy. He does give a lot of work but he allows you to fix your grade on every assignment. He kind of just talks a lot so his class can be pretty boring but other than that he was a pretty good professor.

He offers inciteful critiques for writers. I'm thankful I wrote one of my stories as a creative-writing assignment and a professor like him is a valuable resource. Every creative-writer should take advantage of resources as valuable as him. Proof-readers aren't a plentiful resource after you graduate.

Great professor. lectures are conversational so be prepared to talk.
